I really like Danny graham but I don't think signing these sort of players is the way to go. They're not value for money and will want a biggish wage when instead we could continue on the road of signing young and cheap and developing them

Junglebhoy33

Believable3 Unbelievable1

The reason Celtic can buy young and cheap is basically because the leauge your in us dreadful no competition

Agree2 Disagree3

Ur right about the league, however these same players are doin it at european level, so that kinda quashes your argument! celticbhoy

Agree3 Disagree2

The league we are in is not as dreadful as your spelling LEAGUE not leauge.Would be interested to know who you support and what league they play in.jimbhoy.

Agree2 Disagree2

Danny Graham is so overrated. He's scored like 6 goals this season I hate how English teams overrate there players but get top dollar for them. Like that Jones from Stoke I think he's scored 5 goals in two seasons yet he's valued at 5 million! It's insane. and 1.) We may be in a S**t League but we're top 3 biggest clubs in UK So away and support your relegation battle teams, I'll look forward to the last 16. Hail Hail

A wee day off work and seen as its miserable ended up reading Jim Traynor's latest 'piece' on their website.

Its under the title of 'Game En-title-d To Better' & all it amounts to is threats should Rangers be stripped of titles.

The RFFF have agreed to pay the bill of the legal team defending the plc, why isn't Charles Green doing this ? Is it because the old Club are nothing to do with him so why waste his money ?

Traynor starts off with this:-

'While this case may have become tedious for many people it is actually vitally important, and not merely because the truth must be established. The game's future stability is also at stake'

Then he goes on to say this:-

'If there is any attempt to take away titles deep divisions will be created with Rangers fans feeling they shouldn't set foot in any other grounds. Scottish football cannot afford that'

Feel free Mr Traynor to get the fans of the club you are now the 'Public Relations' guy for to boycott Celtic Park, not a problem :-)

Mrs E

Believable12 Unbelievable4

This guy has become what he was critical of, an unhinged Blogger. The level he has stooped to in a bid to justify his no doubt ludicrous salary is astonishing. If fans of The rangers don't want to attend away games that, s their choice but to drop it in to his article as a veiled threat must be a new low.Since he was appointed the The rangers media director he has done very little other than fuel the fires of injustice in the The rangers support. We all know this is nonsense as they were treated very favourably by the SFA, Campbell ogilivie anyone?, but have pushed this persecution agenda on every occasion. One thought did come into my head when I read he is ghosting greens book.Has chuckie pulled the wool over the fans eyes again? Ghost writers charge a percentage off sales for the book, by giving jabba a job has chuckie circumvented this? Are The rangers now paying for chuckies book to be written while chuckie takes the profits? That would be just lovely for me!.........green jhedi

I've got a feeling they're going to get away with it just like the EBT's.Hope not but something is niggling away inside me.

Jungle Bhoy. {Ed007's Note -

Agree5 Disagree3

No doubt Jungle Bhoy and celebrate it as a victory !

Never mind they have lost their Club, watched and did nothing as it collapsed in a heap of debt and shame, the ONLY Scottish Club to have so widely used a tax avoidance scheme as a 'benefit' to attract players...oh you could go on.

GJ, we could all do his job for half the wages.

I'd be very annoyed if I was a Supporter spending hard earned cash and found out what Jim Traynor's salary was ! Particulary when all he seems to come out with is immature rants ~ Mrs E

Agree3 Disagree2

They haven't gotten away with the EBTs. There is an appeal pending.

Agree5 Disagree2

@2) the evidence is too overwhelming jungle Bhoy. You don't need QCs and a high court judge to fathom the players were illegally registered for 11 years and that Rangers FC Plc (IL) knowingly withheld the side letters from the relevant authorities.
Unhinged Bhlogger.

Agree6 Disagree1

This is a thinly veiled threat of action to damage Scottish football should a legal tribunal find for the truth and integrity. Surely jabba's piece breaks some kind of SFA rule?

Agree6 Disagree1

@5 don't matter about the evidence, it's the country we stay in, remember El Hadj Diof and that other ****** smiling as they came out of the SFA office's after they had been sent off against us. Same principal all round I'm afraid.
Tambhoy

Agree4 Disagree1

Firstly they have not gotten away with EBTs. They were found guilt on a large number of counts and the out standing counts are going to appeal where I think they are likely to loose.

Regardless of the final EBT outcome, they have died lost their continuity and history and are currently trying to recreate them self in the 3rd division. Not exactly getting away with it. The Final EBT outcome will have no effect on Newco other than to stip them of thier fig leaf.

Regarding stripping titles. I'm not sure what the out come will be. It looks like there is a good case to be made, again not really relevent ot newco. Frankly the only reason I would want the title stripped is so that the Newco fans DO boycott away game and keep their poion to them selves.

Agree3 Disagree1

If (According to all you) this is a new Rangers with no affiliate to what you call oldco then why do you despise us so much?

Not a rumour but more of an observation.

Think we need a new CB as Wilson isn't the answer, sell izzy to west ham & move Charlie to LB. Bring in a winger (or togic) and another striker. Too much is put on Hooper to score goals, Austin from Burnley and a DM if Vic goes.

Aldobhoy

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Mulgrew at full back? No pace would get him roasted against any winger even moderately quick.Charlie has, in my opinion, been phoning it in for weeks.Living off good dead balls, excluding penalties apparently, it not enough.........green jhedi

Agree4 Disagree2

Mulgrew is a good player and an important player for Celtic but every player from time to time can benefit from a few games out of the team. It gives the player something to think about, a rest if needed and more often than not provokes a positive reaction. He will come good again. There was more to that performance yesterday than just Mulgrew having an off day, i'm sure you will all agree. Big Kelvin looked dodgy again without Ambrose beside him. Mulgrew and Wilson shouldn't play together again in central defence, 2 of them against 1 Stephen Thompson and they looked uncomfortable. That should tell you all you need to know.

Hearts can't stand the sight of us, one of they're fans took that feeling to another level at the expense of our manager so I won't be retracting my comment. Just wondered if anyone can help me, I've got a large framed memento of Seville, consisting of the quarter final prof (signed), semi prog (signed) and final prog (signed along with the tkts for the 3 games underneath each prog, was looking to possibly sell as I'm a bit strapped for cash and was needing a possible valuation for it?

I'm always going to be behind my team and cheer them on win lose or draw but I think we just have to accept that this team are bottle merchants.
Inverness beat us when that was a must win 2 years ago then we underrated killie last season and bottled it then yesterday was the worst performance I've seen them play.
Its mentally affected them and although as a fan I'll always support the players and Lennon of course sometimes they just need to get a good boot up the backside to make the realise reality.
I mean one minute we give the performance of our lives against barca with not even a full strong team and we play the same players yesterday and get hammered? That's what i'm talking about being mentally effected about it.
We need to get rid of it and keep consistent because results like that are making us out to be a laughing stock.
Anyways were still going strong and are looking for the Scottish cup and league double and the last 16 is round the corner, hh onwards and upwards

Greenbhoy67

Believable2 Unbelievable4

What gets me is st mirren are 11th in the league Danny Lennon was all talk before the game at Celtic park then when it kicked off put 11 men behind the ball.

Yesterday Celtic didn't look interested also the team didn't talk wanyama & more so Sami didn't have a player 10 yards next to them but all we done was pass the ball back to the defenders.

Right ill take what ever comes on the chin here but if you agree then back me up...Barcelona has been & gone yes one of the greatest teams right now in the world & we beat them...that part of Europe is over now, we now need to worry about juve. Same with watt reading the tic view before he made it into the 1st team he was always scoring goals & yes he scored the winner that won us the match against barca...what's he done since ? He's a good player & more to come from him but we sound like the English (no offence English people lol) about the World Cup in 66. It's been & gone lets move on from it now.

Ill put yesterday down to experience again but really need to make up for that yesterday I'm sure if all 11 watched it back then the would agree

Lenny

Agree5 Disagree0

Spot on Lenny. it does seem as if some players are living off the barca result, and lets be honest here, we would have lost the home game without Forster. The worst thing is would you fancy being one of those players going into the Raith game? They are getting a name as bottlers, having witnessed the games they have lost that's understandable, but have they got the will to pick things up?.............green jhedi

Agree4 Disagree1

I agree 100%; the Barcelona result has given a lot of them inflated ego's and complacency in quite a few games.
Before the winter weekend (sorry break) we had been inconsistent especially at home and when we resumed it looked like we had settled into some form??
These guys are not of the quality MON assembled with a blank provvy cheque or the blend of experience and class with which WGS did so well.
This is a young team who have won or achieved little in comparison, to be so cocky about.
Our Hampden Hoodoo is embarrassing and the lessons of Ross County and Kilmarnock are not being heeded.
I know the transfer spec is another distraction but NL has to be a lot tougher and ruthless in dealing with under-achievement and laziness.

Jungle Jim

Agree4 Disagree2

I wouldn't describe them as bottlers just that it dosn't matter to some of them. I think we need a few Celtic supporting boys on the pitch with the passion Lenny had as a player, some of them are guilty of going through the motions as they don't rate the games that highly. In the whole squad there can't be more than a handful of boys who would have supported the hoops growing up. I know a lot of people develop a passion for the club but that usually comes from having people around you that can show them what our club means to us.

Hi all..... Here is my take on what I thought of yesterdays performance! The team turned you with one eye no two eyes and the final! they were beaten quite convincingly by St mirren of whom we have beaten in the last 5 games without reply of a single goal! Our team IMO if the management is not careful will turn into a bunch of pre-madonas! The one thing that annoyed me yesterday was as fans we paid allot of money to go see! for example I was in excess of £100 for my day! now I don't mind loosing its health comp but the manner we lost in was dreadful! I am sure lenny will have heated some ears with a few clips last night and am sure we will fight back! but I will in future grudge paying out money for that sort of performance! HH

What saddened me most regarding yesterday's performance was the lack of motivation, leadership and especially team spirit. One incident early in the game provided examples of all three.

The young St Mirren midfielder (on loan from Newcastle Utd) pole axed Joe Ledley. Did any of his team mates remonstrate with the St Mirren player - no. Did it spark any of our players into life - no. At one time that type of incident would have been used as a rallying cry for the team to roll up the sleeves and pull together!

Well the morning after the day before.Having tortured myself re watching some of the game on TV I can't believe just how off the pace we were.Slow, ponderous and so poor in possession it was truly awful.I see some posters using the bad day at the office argument, not from me i'm afraid. We were up against a team that have been shipping goals against us, Ross County took four off them in Paisley, and have not breached our defence in eight games.I thought from the first couple of minutes that 4-3-3 might be a mistake.St Mirren seemed to be smarter on the ball and made better angles for a return pass. Our discipline was poor and our passion worse, these are the least we expect guys, and when we missed the penalty they grew in stature and confidence.
Make no mistake this was as bad a performance since Lenny took over.It may even have been as poor as the Ross County game, it was that bad.The burning question is why? What I can't understand is this, This group of players have been involved in some massive games and showed quality and guts in them. From Ledley scoring against the defunct rangers to Barca and other European ties, so what the feck happens when we pitch up at Hampden? Ask this.Hearts, with a man short for around 60 minutes beat the form team in the SPL in the other semi, would you have bet on us to do that? A friend tells me that Lenny went through the team at full time, so much so there was a line outside in shock from the noise, and his comments in the press seem to suggest he might have defended some players for the last time.We badly need a creative spark, a number ten who wants to play and can hit a killer pass.In defence we are still not strong enough, from middle to front we could be quicker moving forward and up front we need a Physical presence. Selling? I would take £4m for Izzy, he has not been the same since his injury, £6m for Hooper would not bother me either.Loan players should never be played in front of young players, for me it sends the wrong message, and we seem to need freshening up all over.Forrest back will help but he aren't Messi. Right now my worry is Ibrahim coming back to haunt us like McGowan, who played very cleverly yesterday, and other players we let go..............green jhedi

Believable4 Unbelievable0

As soon as I saw 4-3-3 I was worried.
We were swamped in midfield and it doesn't help when Sammy is having one of his couldn't care less days .
Mulgrew on pens?
He showed where he was placing it very early in his run up.
He needs dropped as I think he feels he is first pick due to his set piece deliveries. If he is picked for that reason, we need changes fast.
Izzy can go, we can't keep saying he will iimprove. He is a defender that can't defend.

Agree4 Disagree0

I'm afraid the 'bad day at the office' routine does nothing for me either. This poster is spot on with all his comments and observations. In very simplistic terms it baffles me why you would have to motivate players (earning between 10 and 25 k a week) to compete in a semi-final of a national cup competition

Hi Ed, was at game yesterday and 6 hour journey home was not pleasent. Especially as its the third time in a year I have felt this way coming home from Hampden. Some of our players when they wake up this morning need to take a good look at themselves in the mirror and ask Did I do my best? I was at another game on Saturday evening seeing my local team Cliftonville win 4-0 in a cup final and every one of those wearing green and white on Saturday ran and tackled their hearts out for the jersey. I am sorry, I didn't see that yesterday. Lenny has done a superb job turning us around and I will be on the boat again midweek for Killie and back for Juventus. We don't have the God given right to win all our matches and I will never have a go at our team when we are losing. But we are Celtic Football Club, and the Big Man would have turned in his grave yesterday at that performance. Too many players strolled around the park yesterday as if it was a Sunday kick about. I have one question to ask them.
Are they hurting this morning like us?
In Lenny I trust.
Hail Hail to my fellow Bhoys and Ghirls.
See you Wednesday.

The sooner this transfer window shuts the better imo, yesterday the team was shocking but personally it looked like Hooper and Big Vic had other things on there minds, come on when has Wanyama ever been taking off during a match when we needed a goal and Hooper his first touch yesterday was shocking and a few times s**t out of a few tackles.
We badly need an out and out winger brought in this month may it be Gary-McKay-Steven, Marco Rojas and will be good to get Forrest back too.

Emilio needs to remember he's a left back, a defender, not a midfielder or a winger. I'm all for full backs getting forward but when the time is right. All 3 St Mirren goals came from our left back position. Mulgrew and Samaras were first out to try and close the cross down. Where was Emilio ? Joe Ledley does nothing to justify being in the top 3 earners at our club. The 4-3-3 is an accident waiting to happen. We got away with it against united die to their poor finishing. Credit to St Mirren who were well up for the game.

It would appear that this current squad seem to goto pieces everytime they play at hampden, in finals/semi on council tv. Also seems ex Celtic players deemed surplus have a knack of coming back and proving points by inflicting fatal blows. Well done St Mirren, completely worthy winners. Hope they beat the Jambos.
