Hi all just something of the top of my head I hope RD stays with us for a long time and I hope the board back him as much as they can We as a club in my opinion have come a long way since the start of the season looking forward to maybe 2 years down the line if RD is still hear and the board back him

Totally agree! He has took celtic to a new level! Had my doubts at the start of the season but he has since won me over! Bigc79

I have no doubt the board will back Deila as much as they think is wise . I also have no doubt that the board won't back Deila enough to suit many fans on Celtic forums but the key thing I believe is that the board and Deila sing off the same hymn sheet.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Mar 2015 14:35:26
The good thing about Deila is he does not need a lot of cash to build a good team. I am also optimistic that we will now see more of our young players coming through into the first team. I know Deila goes to watch our development squad play when he can and that he works with the development coaches, which bodes well for our future in my opinion.

What we need to do is to spot young talent early from across the continent, sign them and let Ronny and the coaches work their magic in developing them into top players.

Evening All, Ed a see Celtic are appealing the other Uefa fine mate am happy at that pondering through the statement it is a thinly veiled swipe at the referee more or less saying he was poor and down to him

Puts it back in their court anyway a think, just wondered your take/view and others view was on it?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - At least the board are showing some backbone for a change.}

28 Feb 2015 19:25:02
We have to defend ourselves . Inter breaking fair play rules, multi number of flares and although Italian police and journalists praise everything to do with Celtic .

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Mar 2015 02:19:14
No contest to the flare incident and its a pity that we can't make the numpties who did this, pay the fine which will obviously follow. EUFA's rules are quite clear on this subject.
Great to see the board taking a stance. The ref was very poor and the bookings highlight his total lack of control on the game in general never mind some of the decisions.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - If the rules are quite clear how come plenty of teams get away with it in European matches? That's what's annoying me most about it all, apart from some of our supporters making their usual mountain out a molehill which is expected now, why is nobody else charged -Besiktas for example?
If you break the rules you deserve to be punished but not if others get away scot free for breaking the same rules. If they brought in a rule that all CFC supporters, and JUST CFC supporters, must have their face in full view in and around the stadium, no jackets buttoned up, hoods, hats or scarves round your face would people just accept that because it's a rule?
Would you stand back and watch a woman get threw out for having her hood up last week when it was baltic watching the game v Accies?
Tonev was found to have broke the rules and a lot of the supporters backed him.}

01 Mar 2015 07:46:42
Fair enough Ed. Can't argue on that and my thoughts were about no real consequences for the idiots. Banning them from football (particularly Celtc) won't really cause much pain to them and, if being honest, unless tagged and monitored extremely difficult to enforce. But, your points about others getting away with it should be the very argument Celtic put forward then. You can't, in a court of law, have selective punishment wher A can break the rule but B gets punished for the same infringement. How far do we go with it then, bringing law into it and questioning the mighty powers that be causes a lot of headaches (which I am for if the same powers can't apply the laws equally). Now got me fired up.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 02:21:31
I seen a post on one of the Celtic pages on with a picture of 4 sets of fans with flares, 3 of them were really bad and there was one with a little flare which was Celtic. Yet they're the only ones charged. I agree we should be punished but there needs to be consistency with other clubs being sanctioned too. And the club needs to find some way of punishing the fans who do set flares off

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - As things stand I don't think either the club or our own supporters that let flares off should be punished, that would be just as consistent. I wonder if Inter Milan, Besiktas in fact any team's forums are full of people wanting fellow supporters punished for something so trivial?
Let's not forget we played a team that sacrificed a sheep - murdered an animal - before matches and nobody batted an eyelid. Good job the #celticfamily never found out the medical research done on sheep regarding asthma!}

28 Feb 2015 17:43:08
Just reading that the superstar who is Islam feruz is getting sent back to chelsea from Blackpool after the grand total of 16 min playin time!! On Twitter slagging the team during the week! this boy really is a half wit by the way! Couple of years and he'll be lucky to still be in football! The great TB would be so proud! Idiot of a boy! Actually staggering the level of arrogance from someone who's barely kicked a ball in a 1st team!

To be honest I have always thought he was overrated.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Mar 2015 00:16:54
It happens the vast majority of these super 14/15 year old players . When they seem to have the football world at their feet they seem capable of throwing it all away .

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Mar 2015 01:43:32
I think Tommy not being here annoys us more than Islam if we are honest. Players leave the club that developed them all the time. How many hibs, Utd and other clubs players have we signed. And how do they feel about us. Islam had his head turned by agents he wasn't the first and won't be the last. I'm not bitter about it . Celtic have developed players of all ages for decades some move and progress others move on and flop. But with Islam it's personal. Why? Simple because the man who looked after him and his family was taken to soon. That's not islams fault. And if he is a flop after leaving celtic the last thing Tommy would want is for us all to snigger at the boy because Tommy had more class than that.

Agree4 Disagree0

01 Mar 2015 09:27:32
Garybhoy1888 I don't even think Tommy would want us to snigger at Feruz. Tommy was a total gent and I doubt he would of let situation get to him mate. It is justice though lol

01 Mar 2015 10:37:35
You must have mis read my post dn. I said Tommy would not want us to snigger at the boy because Tommy had more class than that. I also said the situation doesn't bother me in the slightest. Not in those words but it doesn't. I just think it's personal with this boy because of what happened to Tommy. I know we are both making the same point mate just thought I'd clarify what I said as you've maybe mis read it. All the best Hail hail

Hi Bhoys and Mrs E

I hope after our victory on Sunday, we can put an end to this Aberdeen challenge the media are trying to hype up. Of course they have done tremendously well but when push comes to shove they have not been able to take a point of us at all.

We are looking like a really good unit now and after the Inter game on Thursday the players and manager deserve out utmost respect. I totally loved the Kris Commons reaction at the end of the game towards the ref.

I wanted to also point out that earlier this year there was noises for Jackie McNamara to replace RD. Just curious on what people's thoughts are now given that United have completely crumbled.

Final point, apologies to Ed and anyone else offended by my naïve post about the relevance of Joe Beltrami to Celtic. Didn't set out to offend or upset anyone, guess I don't know as much about Celtic as I thought.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - No need to apologise to me, Kev, forget about it.}

28 Feb 2015 18:14:04
Fine post. Doubling down on the remark about Commons: he was livid and rightly so. Shame the ref was such a wee boy in the face of criticism.

28 Feb 2015 18:57:42
Jackie Mac has lost quite a few of his best players over the past few seasons, I hope he can rebuild. Suppose it's down to Jackie that his players have been attracting interest (I'm just kinda saying and not meaning he could replace Ronny or anything like that)

Quite nervous about tomorrow, probably a good thing. Just all this anticipation and really wanting a win. Let's face it, last season when we dropped points most of us weren't to fussed.

If there are any positives from Thursday it's VVD didn't play 90 mins nor did GMS, I would have like Lustig in the team but hey ho :-(

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Feb 2015 19:34:02
Kev T it takes a big man to apologise so thank you for that, my point was not about yourself but about people disagreeing to the sentiments of paying respects to a person who had died, even if he had been the biggest Sevco fan he still deserved respect in his passing.

Agree1 Disagree3

28 Feb 2015 20:37:01
There are many positives to be taken from Thursday's match and I wouldn't regard Virgil getting sent off and neither he nor GMS playing the whole match as positives . The fact we had to play almost an hour with only ten men was a major negative and definitely very bad preparation for Sunday's game .

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Feb 2015 21:33:09
Goodness me Chris, that isn't what I mean!

I'd much rather they played the 90 mins as well. Just meant if there's anything that can be taken from the bad situation of the sending off, that was all.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Mar 2015 00:20:24
Aye but they getting a almost an hour of a break will almost certainly help them, you are right about that bit. However the cost of are other 8. Outfield players been run off their feet by Inter will more than undo the benefit of two rested .

Kevin, it's a banter page and if we all had the same knowledge and options it would be pretty boring. I love seeing the various comments and opinions here. Some I agree and some (imo) are just dumb. What I do get is a lot of insight from people here who have more knowledge and insight into some subjects. I learned so much about EBT's admin, liquidation, share rules etc. during the demise of the club across the city. The Eds do their bit by keeping some sanity (and legal) control while keeping the banter flowing. Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Cheers for that.}

Spot on with analysis mate. Really enjoying watching celtic at the moment and things will only get better.

Hopefully a few new faces in summer

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've not spoken to one single supporter in the last few weeks that isn't enjoying watching CFC. The general feeling around the club just now is fantastic and hopefully people will start going back to games and cheer the team onto the treble.}

28 Feb 2015 18:52:25
I said months ago that what Ronny was trying to do takes time and it would be at least 6 months before we saw it start to bear fruit.

It takes time for players to improve fitness to the level required and also takes players time to be able to pass and control the ball at pace. Obviously we are far from the finished article but we can now all see things starting to take shape.

Really pleased for Ronny & his coaching team as they deserve credit for their hard work. Hopefully now the doubters will get behind him and the team.

I am not sure the improved form and better football will bring many extra fans on a regular basis to our home matches . Many fans have far to travel and it takes a day
I.e. 23 hours or more in travelling . Travelling, meal and drinks costs are proving too expensive for many .

I have not got so worked up at a referee in Europe since Seville and have now calmed down thanks to the way the team are performing and the confidence within the whole club.
It has been a while since I was looking forward to every game, expecting us to win and although we face our toughest domestic fixture for a while, we are in good shape.

I remember losing to them in the cup around this time last season at home, but feel we are a totally different proposition this time and the two new signings have given us a boost and increased our options.
They will be a tough opponent and are on a fantastic run themselves so we need to be up for the game.

Aberdeen are the new darlings of the media as they subdue reports of their 'real team' and the scandal and lampoonery that applies.
Victory would be a huge step towards the title, while putting doubt and fear into their minds.
I hope we start well, put away our chances and keep slug juniors gas at a peep and we are not discussing referees or flares tomorrow ha ha.

Ed, has there been a problem with mobiles recently, a lot my posts go missing.
