Last word on today's fiasco. It's over. let's get on with our season and let the new club stew in their triumph, forgetting of course they were found guilty of withholding details, such as it is. A post earlier from DB77 hit the nail. let this be our greatest moment, let's pack the park and bring the thunder. Now is the time to show what we are made of, where we are from and where we are going. Forget them. They are an insignificance, a club in the bottom tier, run by a madman. If you can afford a season ticket buy one. If you cant, get to as many games as you can. But let's get right behind our club, a club that behaved in the proper way, a club that can hold it's head high. COYBIG!. green jhedi

SDM ""It is saddening that so much time, effort and money has been expended in pursuing a retrospective witch hunt against an entity in crisis""

So a governing body, undertaking good governance and appointing an independent commission, which took a great deal of time and effort is a witch hunt?
Rangers were found guilty and fined. The astonishing issue is the ridiculous penalty and some of the statements in the report regarding no sporting advantage and that players were not inelligible to play.

SDMs other issues concerning EBTs are not in agreement with two tax tribunals, one Thai member of the FTTT and HMRC. Who oppose his views.

Does SDM currently fall foul of the fit and proper person rules for anyone to hold office in association football as a previous director of a liquidated company?

So it was a simple "admin error"?

OK. So let's fix that error shall we?

How about we begin with paying back all the tax you PURPOSELY avoided.

Would these players have played for RFC (IL) for 30% less? Methinks no.

Did RFC (IL) really know that were supposed to hand in the side letters to SFA? methinks yes.

Astonishing result. It happened here to Melbourne Storm. The boys in the boardroom cooked the books and were found out. The players were cleared, as they had nothing to with any of the numbers regarding the salary cap. They were offered contracts and signed them. The board was sacked. TWO premierships stripped. One year playing in the NRL without collecting points, plus fines. and they were over the cap by a mere $1 million.

250,000 pound fine. You have to be joking.

Quite incredible the level of feeling over today's farce. But all real Celtic fans should view it for what it is, one man's opinion. Everybody and their dogs know what old Rangers did was tantamount to cheating. The mentalists among the newco's support are claiming a victory, a deluded attempt to start a new rivalry with Celtic. This is a completely new third division club and even the tv website don't provide links on its main football page when newco play. Best to ignore the third division new boys and deny this Scottish football pariah the publicity it craves.

First point is the legal deadline for claims against Rangers FC in liquidation has passed. BDO cannot even accept the £250,000 fine against old rangers. If they do are they breaking insolvency law?
Second point, SPL CAN APPEAL LNS COMMISSION FINDINGS AND PENALTY, which i'm sure they will.

Just saw conte the juve coach is being investigated for max fixing, should nl send that DVD to uefa? I think so given how bad the ref was and his connection cause uefa cannot let the slip by now that he is being investigated, they must look at every case. I hope this is done soon for it makes no difference if they say he did match fix our game a year later. But I'm sure nothing will be looked at and the favorites will get away again like today's verdict

"The directors of oldco rangers bear a heavy responsibility-non disclosure of EBT payments MUST BE VIEWED AS DELIBERATE. Evidence clearly indicates a view at rangers that disclosure might have been detrimental to their desired tax treatment"

And the killer line, which even after reading I find hard to believe, "given the seriousness of non-disclosure at rangers nothing less than a SUBSTANTIAL PENALTY will suffice" Brilliant. Well the report is out, and did we really expect anything else? But at least Lord Nimmo made two things crystal clear. The old co DID CHEAT.
The New co took over from old co but are just that A NEW CO. No history, the SFL3 title will be their FIRST.
I read on here and elsewhere about fans being sickened and not going to renew their season tickets.
WHY? Celtic and other Scottish clubs NEVER cheated. RFC DID.
If we do not renew our season tickets, then these cheats have won. Fans of ALL clubs should support their team as never before. We stand for Sporting Integrity, two words every bear does not know, or even how to look it up.
I take heart from the fact that the Govan team are very seriously injured both in a playing sense and their Reputation is in tatters.
I agree with our own Mrs E, TRFC will take years to get back to the level Celtic are at present.
I was always brought up with the saying "Cheats never win" they might think they have won today and in the past, but it has come at a price for them also.
They have got away with a fine, but the records will show years of CHEATING against Rangers FC.
We are Celtic, we NEVER cheat. hail hail Timalloy

It reminds me of Only Fools And Horses from years ago. Trigger was a council worker and got a prize for having the same brush for 20 years. When questioned he said that in that time it had 5 new heads and 4 new shafts. but apart from that it was the same brush!

Justice has not been served with the corruption of Scottish football, but the Stirling game was good enough for me, let's face it Rangers are never going the get the punishment any other team in there position would get, SFA, the courts, are always going to be in there favour, but they're never going to be on the same Level as our great club and family. they're struggling and I am loving it, and may it long continue. Rangers fan here.

I can see from reading the page that a lot of you are upset by today's outcome. I'm not here to wind anyone up, but did you honestly think that we would lose titles?

We were already found to have been not guilty in the big tax case, appeal or not. Now, I went to bed last night knowing what the final announcement today was going to be. It was so obvious.

A lot of "Celtic fans" on here are losing it. Why are you so bothered? We are in SFL3 minding our own business and doing what we have to do in order to get back to where we belong, atop Scottish football along with you, our great Old Firm rivals.

You can go on and on about "newco", "Rangers", "The Rangers" and the rest. I find it pathetic yet funny. Because you all know Rangers are alive and well and that eventually, we will meet again.

So the old holding company has been fined £250,000 for failing to report certaing things. Not for cheating.

Rangers did not cheat. It has been made perfectly clear now by more than one "governing body" and it's time to let it go.

The club is very much still here, we are getting 45,000+ at home games in SFL3 and with that backing, we will be back sooner rather than later.

54 Titles.

LNS has previously proven his credentials? Certainly took an illegal punishment last year against Rangers; one year transfer ban, which club appealed to Court of Session ( lord hodge or Carloway?) ruled his court had supervisory jurisdiction over Scottish football and that Nimmo- smiths penalty was wrong. Nimmo smith resigned from his panel.

This latest 'commission' is not a court judgement.

This is 3 legal minds moonlighting outside the courts for the SPL. Any finding they make is a recommendation to SPL Board to accept or decline.
I would, accept the guilty verdict, dismiss this commission, and award suitable penalties. 3-0 per game.

Ultimately any unhappy party, including any SPL team, can appeal this to the court of session, lord Carloway, who has supervision over such matters and i'm sure find a fine for oldco far too lenient as the regulations stipulate 3-0 quite explicitly.

This game has more running in it. The £250k is now a footballing debt.

Ok. Not the desired outcome but hardly any real surprise.

Now we can get back to concentrating on football. Bear in mind that we have 43, soon to be 44, more top tier league titles than the rangers. You would have to assume that it is only a matter of time until we catch and overtake the old rangers number of titles.

Oh dear so RFC have been to some extent found guilty, well there is a punishment so I assume there was a crime.

RFC fans watched over the past few years knowing full well their Club was in financial difficulty, made blase statements such as 4 in a row nae dough etc and over the past year we have watched as they have spiralled into liquidation and ceased to exist.

They declared the SPL commission a kangaroo court but as they were not stripped of titles it is now declared as a success, explain?

The assets (and I don't mean titles) were bought by a walloper of a man and these supporters now follow a Club in Div 3 where they are struggling and have an old legend failing as a manager.

This new club could never have been stripped of silverware, it does not have any.

Once a disgrace, always a disgrace.

54 and its all over, hope it was all worth it!

I do think a clearout of Hampden is required, there is no confidence at all.

so, rules were broken but there were no rules in place to allow these rules to be applied in a situation whereby the offender of said rule breaking wasnt caught out right at the beginning. I can see the sense here. We are now dealing with rules within rules within rules. That even when broken albeit discovered after the event that the rules cannot be enforced. this making sense. no. neither do these findings. in any shape or form. legal, sporting or otherwise. What's the point in having rules when you can clearly breach them without any real consequence. Disgusted at this ruling. Shows how pro 'The Rangers' the authorities in Scotland are. They have no backbone, and all this talk of that mob being kicked when they are down clearly the authorities have bent over backwards to help them out at every turn. There has been no anti-Newco agenda only the SFA etc helping them as much as they can.

Allowing a club with no accounts to be given automatic entry into the football leagues when other teams have been waiting years. Now the commission set up fining a dead and liquidated club money that they will never receive. Spineless the lot of them. Uefa need to step in or the Scottish game will not recover from the fiasco and might as well turn out the light.

I must admit I am not saying I agree with the outcome but I am struggling to hold back a mighty grin after months and months of my Celtic buddies and people on here taking digs about titles being stripped. There is one question I want to ask though and I am not trying to wind anyone up just curious, If Rangers are as you all say a new team with no history or ties to what you call oldco then why were you all so bothered about titles that according to all you Rangers don't have being stripped?

P. S. I don't really believe many people when they say it's because of sporting integrity and all that because if it was any other scottish team 95% of you wouldn't care what happened. Also Ed sorry about the length of this post.

Utterly ridiculous. Found guilty but no precedents were invoked. £250,000 fine? for each case maybe but overall? The SFA declaring long ago they were not interested in pursuing this re cup games, tell Brechin and Spartans that. Final proof that this mob can do what they like with impunity. If so what's the point in going on? If they were found not guilty I would accepted it, this is different. they were guilty and have walked away from anything meaningful as a punishment. according to Alex Thomson and Chris Mclaughlin title stripping will not take place. This leaves an interesting question, namely, what will the punishment be, IF found guilty. We have been continually told this is the same football club as before, no doubt the no stripping verdict will be cause for celebration, so are they liable for any punishments? From what I have read it is pretty clear they did play unregistered players, but how do you punish a club if it is liquidated? The cowards way out would be a fine to be added to the creditors list when the liquidation process is concluded. Are we about to see the end game of this new club/old club nonsense? The ramifications of this decision could be momentous for football in this country. This club have shed millions upon millions of pounds in debt, if this is seen as a token slap on the wrist I would think every fan in this country might think what's the point?. green jhedi

A simple question. As a Celtic fan do you buy the record? If you do then it is time to have a long hard look at yourself. For years this tawdry rag has been one long pro oldco fanzine. Today however the utterances of ex oldco player hateley are beyond belief. Who is the Editor of this nonsense?Should they not be correcting him on what he scrawls?
1; "Scottish football has TAKEN IT IN TURNS to inflict as much damage as possible with the club at it's weakest and unable to defend itself". Might part of that damage be the much maligned transfer embargo? The embargo that allowed the transfer of the SFA share to allow your TOTALLY NEW CLUB to enter the league system? Might it be the NOT PUBLICIZED letter from some one in the SFA stating your were the old club to gain credence with the ECA? Might it be the unprecedented temporary licence granted to allow you to start the season? WOW. What a kicking eh?

2; "it's been pretty brutal, down right nasty, I think there are some bad people and DARK FORCES out there engaging in a guerilla war against a great football institution" Nomark. Downright nasty is threatening to burn down the ground of a club who only followed the rules. it is demanding to know the names of a panel of investigators when you already know their names. It is leaving debt behind, worth possibly over £100m, and then claiming you are the same club. It is marching on any one who disagreed with anything your club says.

3;"Today Lord Nimmo Smith can call of the dogs, he can clear oldco of cheating to win titles, anything else and there are SINISTER forces at work in the shadows of Scottish football" No one is accusing you of cheating, although that is technically what it was, but playing UNREGISTERED players. The penalties for this are clear. A 3-0 defeat in every game the offence took place. What other sanction is possible other than removing titles? The club who committed these rule breaks are DEAD. What are we supposed to do? Shrug our collective shoulders and sigh? You can't fine a dead club, suspend them or ban them so I ask nomark, what would you suggest? Let the dead club go claiming honours that are not theirs? What about the other clubs who play by the rules?

He then rambles on in the style of our favourite urine soaked ex reporter, disgraceful really, pleading the case for oldco. "if they pursue this they will LIGHT A FLAME UNDER AN ALREADY VOLATILE SITUATION" Again with the veiled threats. Topped of by an empty seat jibe at Celtic. Worry about your own crowd nomark, we are doing just fine thanks. let's not forget this is a National newspaper not the rangers news. Buy it? Not wipe my ass!. green jhedi
