See George is really scraping the barrel now to get support right out of the Charles Green handbook for getting the masses ( No Pun Intended( on board. Resort to calling Celtic supporters bigoted names and watch the lunatics line up to stand by your side EH George. Well I think you will just alienate the decent rangers fans. Wasnt that when you were on here begging for our support to save your new club. Then again that was probably the only smart move you made George so far as we could show your fans a thing or two about rallying the Bhoys to get results and making sure your club is in safe hands

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It seems George is AWOL. I thought maybe he'd come on and congratulate the mighty Celts for tonight's result.
I suppose he must still be celebrating The Rangers historic and lucrative 2-0 victory over Berwick last Saturday.

Yyyyyyeeeesssssssd! That was a briliant night! But let's not forget, this was a team from Kazakstan. They should of been dead and buried in the first leg! Work to do, but looks brighter. Was saying to my mate how I didn't rate Stokes, then he beats 3 and crosses for Forrest. Legend!

Adam Mathews man of match

Agree0 Disagree0

Scottybhoy, fair comment but this is Europe and we have to be realistic. We have only just started our season and we have had two hurdles to get over before meeting this lot. We also had a testing time against Inverness. Each time when the chips were down this team rose to the challenge. NL has to be applauded as he has delivered each time over the last two seasons. Once again the team in green and white are flying the flag for Scotland and knocking up som coefficient points. Hail Hail TinyTim

WOW! Excellent just excellent. From the off we looked to be right on it tonight. After such a special night it is hard to to say who was our best player but I thought Matthews might have just shaded it.I was so impressed with our concentration and determination considering the pressure the players were under, even Efie kept it together! Back in with the big boys again!

Once again the support were magnificent, never gave it up all night. Somebody said big Biton was in the stand, I would imagine he will be champing at the bit to sign after witnessing that.Well done Lenny also, big decisions to make and came up trumps again.Another fantastic Celtic European night.I have been critical of Forrest in the past, not in a derogatory way more in frustration, but that was a £15m goal.Lets hope he can get this niggling problem he has fixed and get to where we know he can be.

Wonder if any sevconians will be investigating our cash flow? Seems to be an orchestrated campaign to spread gossip as I heard three on snyde tonight. I imagine another £15m, at least, will have them slipping into a perma rage!. green jhedi

No excuses Pete needs to hand Lenny at Least 10million to spend now that we are in the group stages. We must now make a decent offer for Alfie . He wants to play for us, do you think he tweeted our signature song for nothing?! Hail Hail glad we made it! :-) SharkyBhoy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Briggs the bhoy bags the club 15 million wae that goal and you still moan big Forster was posted missing when Mathews cleared of the line then let a long throw bounce in the six yard box that eventually hut the bar gee the lad a break. Sep1888

@sep1888 he contributed to a £15m windfall mate! He did not do it all on his own. Still a poor player IMO

Brilliant result tonight! I thought every player did well, apart from Forrest who was extremliely poor! Yes he scored the goal. But what else did he contribute?. Absolutely nothing! In saying that I hope he kicks on from here and makes a mark, but did we not expect that a few years ago? I thought Adam Mathews was immense but the whole team were brill.

I'm not a coach and at 5'2" was never going to be a professional. But I have been amongst management teams and sometimes people are asked to do a specific type of job for the overall benefit of the team. Forest may not be pretty sometimes but it could well be he is doing what is asked of him to allow another part of the overall strategy to be accomplished.

If ever there was a team I was glad we put it, it was that mob!

However, I should maybe thank them as our defence took heid of their Managers (dunno his name) remarks and put in a solid performance.

NL was right, considering they play horrible football including ball in the air, hoofing the ball, shoving, unsportsman behaviour, slaughtering animals etc they were very disrespectful and deserved all they got!

Bet he was sweating like a poor Kazakhstan sheep after Sammy's goal Ha! ~ Mrs E

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed Mrs E, but they are a really organised team.Be interesting to see how they do in the Europa and those big monster defenders will cause problems from those throw in's. Their boss was very polite about us after the game as well to be fair. green jhedi

Good article on tv website about the shocking injustice of UEFA's seeding system for the Champions League. Particular focus on the benefits for Arsenal (4th in their league) and the negative consequences for Celtic despite being champions and getting as far as any English team last year. Dortmund last year were ranked 5 places higher in European rankings than Bolton. I still can't work that one out.

Just back from the game. and still getting my bearings!

What a great night. I mentioned before how the result in the first like was similar to the Bratislava game in that it gave us something special to do. and unlike that match, tonight we did it. Not for one second did I want to lose the first leg, or not put the tie out of sight- but the one good thing about it, was it made tonight happen. Had we won two, three nil- which, to be fair, we should have- in the first leg, tonight wouldn't have been half as special.

And, if nothing else, it's always good to shut up the doubters.

To my fellow Bhoys who were there tonight, you were not only the 12'th man, but you reminded the world why this fantastic club needs to be in the Champions League. It's not about money. It's about the types of night we, like few others, can bring to the tournament.

Hail, hail.

Some fans are a buzz!
Couple of days ago the team wer a joke, the manager was a joke individuals were not good enough to wear a celtic jersey.
Hope the moaners can back off a bit now and join the happy.

If Lennon gets another few million al go out on a limb and say he's probably been giving the biggest transfer budget than any other manager in one summer. Maybe M Oneils first season would beat it, not sure .Don't think that's to shabby for the way things are the now in Scotland.

Great performance by the players tonight, especially Kris Commons, thought he was excellent, everything we done positive he was involved in. Great to see Forrest get the winner, I was giving him a wee bit of stick throughout the game. Two centre backs also looked composed, only negative as I'm sure u will agree big Fraser between the sticks, hopefully wee trip down with the England squad might give him a wee confidence boost. Other that that I'm over the moon with that result. Once again Neil Lennon's profile as a manager has been raised again, surely he should have got a pay rise. Ian L

Well done to Celtic tonight. Played the right way, attacked the opposition and thoroughly deserved to go through. In fact, it would have been a travesty if you hadn't, Karagandy are dreadful. I would much rather see Celtic in the CL than teams like that.

I thought Ambrose looked better tonight, as did Samaras. However for me the best player by a long way was Stokes. I don't like the guy, but he was the difference maker. His hold up play and willingness to run the channels and work back was fantastic.

Also well done to you, the fans, who were loud and proud throughout.

Congratulations folks. Enjoy it.

Twice Neil Lennon said on TV interview and in press conference that we qualified "with out any help". Clearly implying no help from the board regarding transfers. I know we all suspect this but still worrying to hear there is such tension between Neil and the board including PL.

db

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Db is it the board, or is it the media he was talking about, all they have talked about is the negativity, oh Celtic should never get beaten by a team of this calbre and how it was bad for Scottish football. I for one thought the Khasaks were a well drilled team and did not think we played that badly in Khazikstan.As usual the media put the boot in, that@s why I think Neil was talking about the media and not the board.
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

He definitely had a pop at the media calling them negative and he even stated some fans get caught up in that negativity. But I think some of his comments came about when discussing losing key players and not having them replaced yet. Maybe the board have said they expect us to progress regardless of signings!

5-1 Ledley to score first. Think we will go with a back four of Izzy, Ambrose, Charlie and Lustig. Commons, Brown and Ledley in Midfield. Samaras, Stokes and Amido up front with Boreigter coming on at some stage.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with jb. We seem to be writing this team off before a ball has been kicked. After watching first game when our best attempts came from a speculative shot from outside the area and reliance on our left back to slam it home we should be a bit concerned. This team will be up for it. Not being pessimistic but having watched the bhoys for more than forty odd years we have always had a player or players who could turn a game. Not so sure with this current squad. Mid field domination will be important tonight so will be our forwards whoever they might be but the team now needs to stand up. This is no caley thistle. Just to pick up on this Transfer Window deadline:-
Our governing body have really messed up and shown even more incompetence and short-sightedness by bringing forward our deadline by 48 hours and why did the clubs not foresee this and act accordingly or did they actually agree to this horrendous 'own-goal'?
Not only will our teams lose players to other leagues with the Sept 2nd deadline without replacements, but signing and loan targets may well be severely hampered by clubs holding off until the last minute for the best deals available and again our clubs will lose out?
Scottish football is in no position to sustain self-harm from the people paid to oversee and develop our game.

Wish I shared your confidence Julie.
I have followed Celtic for many a long year and I am really nervous.
Obviously we have the players to make a difference and score the goals we need; but we came up well short at their ground and we have real problems at the back so we have to get it spot-on at both ends.
Obviously the support at Celtic Park will do their usual to motivate and hopefully turn Karagandy into lambs.

Ed sorry to be a pest mate was just thinking there about the boy pukki first off he wasn't in the squad for his team tonight which was strange amid reports he is about to join us I think this is a very silly move considering if we sign him we can't use him in europe and no disrespect to the spl but his stock is not going to rise playing in that every week our aim is to buy players let them perform on big stage and sell for a profit, other so called big teams will not look at a player in the spl who performs well it's usually when in cl other big teams rate players. Do u think this boy would be worth buying if we can't use him this year? {Ed007's Note - I think it will be worth it for the simple reason we need a new striker, whether it is for the SPL or Europe.}

But if it's just for the spl ed let's be honest we could win it without a new striker why spen 3 mil on him now we can't use him in europe keep the money for jan or next summer and use it then or otherwise buy a striker we can use in all competitions!

He was in the squad he was on the bench but never came on {Ed007's Note - And in the first leg?}

Morning guys I may be wrong and please check it out ed but i'm sure the rule changed a few years ago to a player would be eligible for group so long as he only played in qualifiers my other point is I think its better to sign a proven goal scorer even if god forbid we go out tonight as he would be settled into the team and we won't be in the same squeaky bum position next year hail hail

Rangers fan in peace here. Hope Celtic win tomorrow and qualify. Also don't know why yous ain't in for billy sharp. I think he wld do better than all the other players you have been linked with and always gives 100%

Thanks for your support. Hope you manage to clear up all the nonsense going on at Ibrox.

We may well be in for him if a few posts on here recently have any merit.
It seems we have a few irons in the fire and a couple depend on the outcome of tonight's vital 2nd leg qualifier.
Qualification is vital - not only for us, but to keep Scotland in the main Euro spotlight and help the co-efficient.

Ed do u know if the Dutch winger is fit for the game the mora? not gny try and spell his name lol {Ed007's Note - Boerrigter trained today so he must be there or near abouts.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed that is an excellent point. It makes you wonder why we're interested in the lad because we shouldn't need him to win the SPFL and if he's out of Europe regardless of what competition we're in then it seems like a waste of time and money.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy {Ed007's Note - I think you're on the wrong thread Chris and I'm not sure where it should be.}
