Sectarianism alive and kicking over in northern Ireland, have a look at the video singing about Catholics . and some question why James McLean opted for Ireland no brainer.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

28 Mar 2019 13:36:13
Sectarianism always was and apparently always will be in our occupied 6, founded with a Protestant Parliament for Protestant people .

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Mar 2019 23:24:26
Sectarianism will always exist, as long as we have religion, I would quite happily do away with all religion, I am reading the Koran at the minute, and the more I read it, the more I am convinced that anyone who believes this nonsense, will always disagree, with anyone who doesn't . Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, as some Chinese guy said before Jesus, is the only way to go, love thy neighbor is better than smiting them at the neck just because they are a disbeliever, is obvious to me, but to that wee London girl, who went to Syria, is ok because it's allowed in Islam, (and she is right, it is) , . So I say abolish all religion, let all races live in peace.

29 Mar 2019 13:21:50
Aindoh. Religions don't cause trouble, it's the people who follow Religions and don't want others to follow their beliefs . Just as yourself reading the Koran and now don't want anyone practicing their religion.

Euan Henderson is only 19 today. The guy has been excellent and must be a contender for Scotland's young player of the year.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

27 Mar 2019 20:08:33
The laddie is a good prospect but he won't be a contender for young player of the year having only played a handful of games.
Its hard to put a young Celtic player forward due to our horrendous injury history connected to the club this season.
So I will go with a former Celtic youth player Stuart Findlay of killie.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 20:20:47
JFP1888 Henderson is a cracking young player and I like him a lot but I don’t even know if he’s played half a dozen games this season. There’s no way he’ll be in the running for that award.

27 Mar 2019 22:52:24
COYBIG You are joking, nobody can play unless they are at least near fitness level.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 23:39:10
Yes, OMC, I am. Even the mighty Griff needs to be fit. It was purely an exaggerated expression of how highly I rate him. BTW, you replied to the wrong thread.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2019 15:45:32
The lad needs some home made soup into him to bulk him up a bit.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 18:14:45
The Griff back in training.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - KT and Rogic trained today as well.}

27 Mar 2019 18:43:27
If the Griff is fit enough to tie a scarf around a goal post get him on the bench next week.

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 19:08:52
He's miles away from playing
He's starting fitness and conditioning training this week.

27 Mar 2019 19:41:20
Would be gd to see him back before the season ends.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 22:06:56
Get him in the starting 11, doesn’t need to be fit.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 14:06:28
James McLean gets a lot of bad press down south, but I like him he stands by his convictions, and is not scared to say it how it is, he's criticised Declan rice who got 3 full caps for the republic, but jumped ship to play for england, his ancestors will be spinning in there graves hope he's not planning any home visits any time soon.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

27 Mar 2019 15:01:43
I would love him at the hoops. The orcs and media would go into meltdown mode Get the Rebel for the Quadruple Treble 🍀.

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 15:52:40
He's a more than decent player besides what baggage the boy brings it's mainly down to ignorance.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 16:21:54
Same as lennon james mcClean born to play for celtic.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 16:30:09
I don't think players should be able to do it once they're already capped Mally but until the rules change he's well within his rights. At the end of the day he's an Englishman, born and raised, and we all know how much playing for the national team means to them (I wish some of the Scotland players shared that enthusiasm at times) . ROI was clearly just a back up option via his grandparents but he must feel he has a better chance of success at that level with England.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 18:52:29
Did James MClean not change the country he represented?

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 18:59:18
James McLean is a man of principle and worthy of respect. He does fantastic work in Derry and would walk over glass to play for Celtic. His perceived ‘baggage’ is attributable to English ignorance as to why James McLean takes the politics stance he does. Unjustified and injustifiable. And I’ve no time for the Keanes of this world and God forbid he’s ever our manager. He should never have played for us and should never manage us with or without the beard.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 19:10:21
Aye jim he played for northern Ireland at a few different levels but not the main team.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 19:17:43
And what ‘country’ did James McLean represent JimTim before he changed pray tell?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 19:39:07
Country, Province, whatever you choose to call it. He changed, for reasons that were his. And Declan Rice has changed, for reasons that are his.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 19:59:48
JimTim-he refused a call up from the North OF Ireland. The question is not whatever I choose to call it the question was it’s what ‘country’ did he play for and ‘change’ which was your assertion and you didn’t answer. The implication was that it’s something James McLean should be ashamed of and puts him in the same category as Declan Rice.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 20:11:29
He refused a call up for the north because he sees himself as Irish in a united Ireland.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 20:14:48
Spot on Mallythetally 67 👍.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 20:54:04
There was no implication that he should be ashamed at all. The same for Rice.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 21:27:18
He played 7 times for northern Ireland under 21s. So jim is right he switched nations.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 22:15:37
Completely agree with your take on Keane, JFP and regarding James McLean, anyone who chooses to judge another person on their choice to wear or not wear a poppy is guilty of more than just ignorance. There is a clear agenda behind all this poppy policing and those who take part in it should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. To use it as an excuse to demonise others, demonstrates a lack of respect for the very people they claim to be honouring.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 23:05:06
Kevboy. Rice was a great young Irish man when he was playing under-age football for the ROI. He even pledged his support to the RA . He played 3 full Internationals for ROI and was then poached by England and Souhgate . The reason FIFA changed their rules that players could change allegiances after playing full internationals , to now that a player is only tied to a Country after competitive games was to stop the bigger Countries Hoarding players by playing youngsters in friendly games . England with a population of 55 millions have done the opposite poaching Rice from a Country of 5 m.
England always seems to think that Ireland is a little country subject to its master England.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Mar 2019 12:55:59
Regardless of why the rules were changed Chris, the player was born and raised in England and decided he would rather play for them than ROI.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2019 13:45:33
Kevbhoy why did he play for ROI underage teams and 3 full internationals for ROI before deciding to play for England . Why did his hair stand on the back of his neck when he was Irish and heard the National Anthem .
The only thing. I think may have affected him was that idiot Roy Keane picking fights with R OI players within his ear shot.

So s it now looks like most of our big game players will be back for Sunday, how does Lennon set up our team.
I m certain, Bain will be in goal, Lustig and Tierney will be our full backs, with Boyata and Benkoovic (if both fit) our CB pairing.
Brown, McGregor and either Nitcham or Biton midfield.
Forrest and French Eddy must start with Sinclair and Burke, with possibly Sinclair playing a bit deeper behind Eddy.
Rogic and Weah, Ajer and Bayo and Gordon, with either Biton or Nitcham whoever does not start on bench and final sub maybe young Mikey Johnston.
Most of these players will be involved in some way. hail hail.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Mar 2019 13:17:33
Only problem with that is that’s 12 players on the field, if it was me picking the team it would be from right to left and weah playing in the hole behind eddy.
Bain
Toljan
Boyata
Ajar
Teirney
Burke
Brown
McGregor
Sinclair
Weah
Eddy.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 13:22:35
For me Forrest has hit a bad patch recently and is looking tired he’s been great this season but I’d have Burke on the right over him this time, weah needs to play the boy is rapid and can change a game out of nothing, ajar over benkovic has to do with ajar being on fire at the minute and benko not played much with injury and toljan over lustig I’m picking pace over experience as it’s going to be high paced from the start and feel lustig has struggled with high paced games rangers or European games.

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Mar 2019 13:30:08
On paper that looks a good team.
I don't trust Lustig to finish the game, any kind of tackle and he will stay down like a big girls blouse, like he did at ibrokes. I would play Toljan with KT left back.
My number one central defender is Ajer, if Boyata is okay mentally with no daft carry on then I would start him, due to his good partnership with Ajer. If Boyata is not 100 percent then play Benkovic, who will need more game time in weeks to come.
I would stick with guys who have played recently, in a 4-1-4-1. Brown sitting, McGregor supporting Forrest in the number 10,Burke wide right up against Halliday. Sinclair wide left with Edouard up top.
Bain
Toljan. Ajar. Boyata. Tierney.
Brown
Burke. Forrest. McGregor. Sinclair.
Edouard.
I also think Hayes and Weah could play a big part in Sundays match.
Both look fresh and hungry. I wouldn't take a chance on Rogic because I feel we don't need him to win. Keep Rogic for bigger games as the season unfolds. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 14:02:26
Forrest does well against them at home ntcham and rogic have had no game time but benk got 30 mins against Dundee and 45 last week so he might get the nod over ajer
Bain
Lustig if fit
Boyata
Benk
Kt
Broony
Callum
Forrest
Rogic
Eddy
Sinclair or Burke
And a really strong bench.

It's terrific we have more or less a full squad to choose from, as for the first time for years, I am slightly nervous before this game.
Obviously we have much more, class, talent and ability all over the park, but we are still to hit our best form since the recent turmoil and I really hope the players use any anger and frustration left in their gut to go out there and perform to their full potential.
This is a huge test for NL as well and his future could depend on it?

Can’t believe you’re slightly nervous for the first time in years, OAB. No matter how many times we pump them, I still wake up with knots in my stomach on the day of a Glasgow derby and Sunday will be no different.

This a wee bit left field but here goes my team would be

Bain
Lustig
Benkovic
Tierney
Brown
Ajer
McGregor
Forrest
Sinclair
Eduard

Let brown and Ajer hold the midfield freeing McGregor to go play and pick some passes into our 2 wingers getting them in behind and running at that back four.

Definitely Kev, an ego trip for Keane . The saddest thing for me was the number of our supporters who wet themselves over his signing . His signing for us was the final piece of the jig-saw in making sure he had a full house for his testamonIal.
