James Tavernier has stated that Rangers won't change their approach in the semi-final and that they'll dictate what our game plan is so it's us who'll need to adapt to them. 6 goals conceded in the past 2 games, I'll take that James!

The problem Sevco has that the former City Worker Warbs feels that with his superior knowledge he feels he has a duty to run the whole of Scottish Football. His latest expert knowledge is to discuss how wrong Hearts were in breaking up the winning lower division team . Unlike The Rangers/ Sevco club who have no funds to build Hearts had.
This disillusioned idiot Warbs is spending so much time trying to create his own all star name, he hasn't time to work with his defence conceding 6 goals in two games against average low division teams.

Couldn't agree more Chris. Warburton is fast becoming the new sir Walter. Don't dare question him or he will snap. only praise is accepted and then ramble on about how classy the man is. I'm not a massive Rd fan in terms of how the team has performed under his management but the way he has conducted himself under some massive criticism has been impeccable.

27 Mar 2016 10:12:46
ed, you heard anything about a new manager for next season? I think we're needing to get a new manager and start trying to be more positive about our team and try to make the champions league group stages . I personally think we're no where need good enough to compete at the group stage but we should still be getting to the group stage cause its no as if we're playing real madrid in the qualifiers.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

{Ed007's Note - We already have the the best manager in the country at the helm who has so far met the targets set for him by the board and it's more than likely he'll still be in place next season.}

27 Mar 2016 15:02:30
thanks for sorting that out for me my phone froze and sent message half way through lol . i'm no a ronny lover to be honest, he'll probably win the double this year but for me the teams lacking quality
and leadership I just can't see any improvement in the team in his 2 seasons in charge . I know its hard with the money we have available compared to the big leagues but I feel we could get someone else in that would do a better job than is currently getting done.

Agree3 Disagree3

27 Mar 2016 15:10:23
So the board told him that there was no need to get in the CL then ED? And if he couldn't manage that to go the whole EL group stage this season winless? And the treble was never a target?

Agree2 Disagree6

{Ed007's Note - RD has to deliver European football and he's done that.}

27 Mar 2016 15:25:16
Beav you're not suggesting that a treble would actually be demanded of a manager are you?

Agree4 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - From now on every CFC manager who doesn't qualify for the CL and win the treble will be met with cries to have him sacked.}

27 Mar 2016 15:27:40
So why is our chairman saying it's our overwhelming priority to qualify for the champions league? Surely that's the target if our chairmans comin out with that? And I'm not sure getting embarrsed in CL qualifiers and EL group stage is exactly delivering Anythin!

Agree2 Disagree4

{Ed007's Note - Didn't we reach the latter stages of the EL in RD's first season? If and when RD fails to meet the targets set by the board he'll be removed, what some fans think or want is irrelevant.}

27 Mar 2016 15:28:11
And the treble was never a target?

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Set by the board? No.}

27 Mar 2016 15:32:45
We don't have the resources to compete with the big leagues or even some of the lesser leagues but this season's European campaign was completely inexcusable and I'm not sure if I would trust Ronny with another crack at either CL or EL. Domestically he'll get the job done, albeit unconvincingly. The stuff I've read by so called journalists ridiculing him has angered me because some of it seems really personal and makes me really want him to prove them wrong but whether he actually has it in his locker to do so is another matter.

Agree2 Disagree2

27 Mar 2016 15:45:16
Jim Tim I never mentioned the word demanded, I asked if it was a target? And ED u didn't answer my question! The chairman has stated that our priority is to qualify for the champions league! In fact he said overwhelming priority! So that to me is a target that the manager has failed to meet! Did bankier not say this ED? And what the fans think is irrelevant! So it's irrelevant that we're playin to half empty stadiums for league games and to 15,000 for a scottish cup quarter final? Don't think u could be further from the truth!

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - OK, there's no point in discussing it any further then.}

27 Mar 2016 16:07:09
Why because what your saying is incorrect?

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Of course I'm wrong - just look at the managers we've sacked for not qualifying for the CL. If you really think that the board tell managers they must qualify for the CL then you're a fool, I doubt anyone would take the job.}

27 Mar 2016 16:23:03
Beav, do you think we'll sell out our allocation for the Rangers game?

Agree1 Disagree3

27 Mar 2016 16:23:11
So I'm a fool now am I! For repeating what the chairman of our club has stated in public for everybody to hear! The champions league is our priority, his words not mine or any other fan who comes on here! And which other manager have we had who's failed to get in the CL 3 times in one year? It's a simple question I've asked u ED but Uve started with the name calling because u can't answer without proving urself wrong! U say he's met all his targets but our chairman says different! But I guess I'm just a Ronny hater eh, because I actually want to know what constitutes success at my club!

Agree5 Disagree1

27 Mar 2016 16:35:04
Tpp I couldn't care less what we sell against that 2nd tier outfit! I'm talking about what our club now constitutes as success! What tickets we sell against them has nothing to do with the point I'm making!

Agree2 Disagree2

27 Mar 2016 17:12:06
sorry ed I asked your opinion and you gave me a honest one and a few boys have jumped on what you replied but I know what you mean. I was having this debate with a fellow fan and I personally don't like rd but he's on course for winning the double double which is a great achievement on paper no matter what and I'd take that every year regardless of who the manager is before the season starts. but that's what we where debating is he improving the team in anyway? cause the football in last last 2 years has been some of the worst in years and there does not seem to be any improvements in most of the players performances, form or fitness and that's my biggest worry and for me europe is a bonus but for me the last couple of years we've had really easy qualifiers and fell way short.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - Not qualifying last season can be excused as RD was just in and we did get to the last 16 of the EL but losing in this years qualifiers was really poor and seemed to knock the wind out the players sails for the season. Hopefully between now and the qualifiers RD can get the players back to playing with some confidence and swagger and and adding a couple of new faces in during the summer we're good to go.
For me the players are as much to blame as the manager for this seasons overall mediocrity, I thought Brown coming back would have helped get the team going but his loss of form and lack of match fitness/sharpness is glaringly obvious and he isn't really showing any signs of getting back to his best any time soon, I think it's a bit early to say he's finished though.
If the board do get rid of RD what message does that send out to any potential replacements, when winning (hopefully) 4 trophies out of 6, delivering 2 league titles in a row and European football including an appearance in the knock-out stages isn't good enough to keep you in job? And considering the budget the club has, the way it's structured with John Park etc any manager worth their salt would be crazy to consider it. The demands some fans are currently making of the manager will harm the club for years to come, they've set the bar so high and with that many stipulations of what they consider success future managerial prospects will be put off the job. The job could easily become a poisoned chalice.}

27 Mar 2016 17:17:16
Will I am I am sure R D is devasted you are not one of his lovers . A wee secret that isn't important , I prefer to have him as manager because I believe he has ability to develop young players and make us a better team within the small budget that he has to work with . This takes time and that is what he needs . In every way of life and certainly in Football targets change . Only an idiot would keep the same targets year after year despite changes in circumstances .
Some people think they are clever repeating something said a couple of seasons ago which may or may not reflect the thinking of season 2015/ 2016, or the next one or the previous one.

Agree3 Disagree4

27 Mar 2016 17:40:29
Actually it does. I'll consider your answer as avoiding the question.

27 Mar 2016 18:12:52
Old bhoy I don't think rd will bother about my opinion but like everyone one else I have one and I'm sharing my views which some people will agree with and some will not . what was said a few seasons ago that people repeat?

Agree0 Disagree2

27 Mar 2016 18:33:42
Tpp of course they will sell out the Rangers match. Only 22000 tickets are available. They sold double that for Ross county game in the league cup semi final. And the 22000 tickets will be prioritised to the people who go every week.

Agree0 Disagree2

27 Mar 2016 19:01:21
It is irrelevant what Bankier says, it is what Pedro says that counts. We all know that the top priority for Pedro is balancing the books and he has stated publicly that Celtic's business model is based on qualifying for the group stages of at least the Europa League. Therefore, reading between the lines I would assume that the target for any Celtic manager is to win the league and qualify for the group stage of any European competition, anything else is just a bonus.

Agree3 Disagree1

27 Mar 2016 19:43:56
Will I am It's not your opinion I was referring to It was your love for the man😀😀.

Agree1 Disagree4

27 Mar 2016 19:59:38
Regardless of whether we qualify for European competitions or not, for me it's the quality of football on the park which has got worse since Ronny has been in charge.
I don't know why so many people believe Ronny will get it right when for 2 years now the product on the pitch just seems to get worse every week. I don't know what "targets" the manager has been set, but the entertainment levels should be part of them.

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Mar 2016 18:25:06
ed I agree with most of your points and u was the same with brown as well I'm no sure if he's came back to soon from injury but there is definitely something no right with him at the moment . I just feel the managers role is to much for rd he'd have been better being a no2 which is what he was going to be to start with but I hope he proves me wrong . The gap between ourselves and the other teams in europe is getting bigger year on year and we're going to need to accept that as fans and get behind the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Our EL group this season was full of teams who were disappointed not to qualify for the CL. If a club like Ajax can't qualify and a team with Fenerbahce's spending doesn't qualify it makes it even more ludicrous that people demand CL football from CFC. Even Molde were that confident of qualifying for the CL that they sacked Tor Ole Skullerud although they had already been talking to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about returning.
After 18 months nobody has came up with an answer to why all of a sudden is CL qualification a necessity to be CFC manager, no other manager in our history has been put under that pressure by the support - but every future manager will.}

27 Mar 2016 21:37:22
Why is Ronny the only man at the club who is beyond criticism, it seems okay to have a go at Lawwell, Park, Bankiier, and no one bats an eyelid, it's the same with the players, it's perfectly acceptable to have a go at the likes of Forrest, Gordon, Allan, Ambrose, Lusting, etc. and nobody says you want the team to lose, or your doing the medias work for them. But if anyone dares to say that the manager is no good at his job all of a sudden you become anti Celtic and not a true supporter.
The manager is only an employee of the club, he is paid to do a job in the same way as all the other names mentioned, if he isn't doing his job properly I don't see why he should be above criticism.
It seems ridiculous to me that if you give Forrest or Park a hard time you are seen as a true supporter, but say anything against the manager, it means you want Celtic to fail and that you are in league with the press.

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Mar 2016 21:46:55
Sorry Beav, may have got lost in translation, I don't know, 'target', 'demanded', same thing in my book.

Agree0 Disagree2

27 Mar 2016 23:37:49
can I just say one thing, last season under Ronny was a complete success he's found it tough this season but is he to blame for players losing form? I believe giving the right backing from all parties he can deliver for us.

Agree0 Disagree3

28 Mar 2016 01:22:04
Gerryc if Ronny is the only man at the club who is beyond criticism, why is he criticised so much . I think he is actually the most criticised employee at the club .
When Griffith ( very infrequently misses a chance) Ronny is blamed by posters on here, when defence concedes a goal it is also his fault .
Of course u and I know that Celtic win as a team and lose as a team . In this case the team is the manager& coaches as well as the players on the pitch.

Agree2 Disagree4

28 Mar 2016 11:03:44
Chris, the players do get criticised for having poor games, that's my point, if you criticise Ambrose or Boyata you are not regarded as anti Celtic, or of wanting them to lose, but if you think that the manager isn't doing his job properly then you are.
Ronny is paid by the club to get results and to provide some entertainment along the way, if he is failing in these areas, then I don't see how pointing it out means that you want Celtic to lose.
Ronny seems to be in a win win situation with some fans, in that if we win and play well then it's down to his brilliance, (which I wouldn't disagree with) but if we lose and play badly, then it's not Ronny's fault it's down to the players.
That's the point here, why shouldn't Ronny be held accountable when everyone else is? .

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Mar 2016 17:13:37
Gerryc I am sorry, I think you post nonsense, you and other anti-Celts on here call for getting rid of R D when a match is lost . Unless it is one or two of your special hated footballers Ambrose or Boyata, there is no universal call for player dismissal .
According to the very experience managers on here who seem to know the manager's range of responsibility better than any one else . If Celtic pass the ball around with gay abandoned and just fail to score by bad luck and good goal-keeping
Then our manager should await a dreaded text .

Reading that Mulgrew is close to signing a new contract.

Must admit, I do not think he is deserving of one right at this moment. I reckon I would have told him that he has from now until the end of the season to win a new contract. If he plays out of his skin in that period, then and only then would I give him one.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

27 Mar 2016 17:19:23
Rabmac, you used to be a reasonable poster but recently you have changed . If the management decide to offer big Charlie a new contract, who are you or me to argue.

Agree0 Disagree3

27 Mar 2016 19:08:31
Obviously you are entitled to your opinion mate but for the record I do believe I am being reasonable.

The reason I say that is that my opinion is based on what I have seen of Mulgrew on the pitch under Deila. Last year Mulgrew was pish, the same was true of his performances at the start of this season before he got injured. That being said, since he returned from injury a few weeks ago he has done a decent job in defence. However, I don't think he has done enough yet to merit a new contract.

This is why I am of the opinion that he should not be offered one at the moment and he should have to prove he merits it by performing consistently well from now until the end of the season.

Now you don't have to agree with my opinion but I think it is unfair to say that I am being unreasonable in this instance.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Mar 2016 19:55:54
Rabmac, you were one of the few on here, who doesn't disagree with R D just because it is R D 's opinion . On the face of it Mulgrew hasn't performed well since Ronny took over but neither you or I know that there may be an under lying reason for his dip in form . R D maybe aware of injuries that have affected him for a prolong period . R D may be content that these injuries have freed up and may want him signed up before he is tempted elsewhere .

Just remember despite what some on here ( many don't know Celtic 's home strip is green and white hooped tops) think Ronny is totally clueless, he isn't, and is trying to do his best for the club, just like your good self .
I don't know whether u are right or wrong about Mulgrew, I suspect neither of us know the whole facts well enough to make a sound judgement.

Agree0 Disagree2

27 Mar 2016 20:03:03
Old boy do you think CM should be offered a new contract on merit or through loyalty? He is a utility player according to some but for me he is only a CB and by far not the best one or even in the top 3. Purely based on Jozos situation I would maybe prefer to have him as back up rather than risking buying someone to cover. But I don't think it's a bolt on that he should automatically receive a new contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2016 23:40:51
As long as we have ambrose we need someone to be in front of him in team selection we also need to keep boyata out of the team too so who we left with if jozo is injured?

Pedro Celt, our great club employ experts who are on the spot everyday and are away of the precise details of all medical reports . They watch every day and are aware of whether he is a good or bad influence on club . On the other hand I live in a different Country Ireland and am in really no position to give an accurate opinion on his possible new contract . A good judge WGS picks him regularly when available for Scotland which might indicate he can still do a job for us.
