Before a ball is kicked in competition I would like to give my views on how Celtic and Rangers will fare in the incoming season 2017-18
Celtic won't remain unbeaten domestically this season. However they will win league and at least one cup. Celtic will play in Europe next February.

Rangers will struggle again . If Davey'King remains as Chairman Rangers will be in administration by year end .
If they get rid of King and get new Chairman and can get take over panel off their backs Rangers will struggle to beat last season's points total and will probably not succeed in a cup . Pedro's job will be safe until March or April as new Chairman won't want too many changes .
These are my honest assessments not given to wind anyone up but I am trying to be as honest and as realistic as possible.

Your Celtic assessment won't be far away Chris but i reckon Rangers will be out of Europe to the Cypriots before the start of the league campaign, Pedro will be getting hounded out by Xmas and getting told to take his dud signings with him, administration will kick in by Easter and they will take the points deduction this campaign so by next summer they can start their going for 55 guff with another new manager. Just my honest thoughts.

I think one of the things that impressed me most last season, was how Celtic didn't lose concentration in all those possible slip up matches against "lesser" teams, in their undefeated run, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did it again. and I suppose the same could apply to the cups.

I still think last year's euro run could have been a lot better, if Celtic had believed in themselves a bit more and stopped giving too much respect to teams just because they are from the continent, and let get one thing straight Barcelona, will always look like god's if you stand of them and look at them admiringly instead of getting stuck in and putting their defence to the test.

As for The rangers, I think for them it will be a famine or a feast, if Pedro knows these guys and they live up to his expectations. I think they will blow the rest of the league away, and get an easy second place, in all comps, but if the guys aren't as good and hibs and hearts recruit well, I think Aberdeen and the rangers will be fighting for fourth place, as for Europe, is the same if the guys turn up the rangers could make the Europa league.

Need a bit of help. Will be in Milan and wondering if anyone knows of any CSC or any pubs that show the games live? Had a look on the internet and can't find any.

Am not bed wetting but is anyone a little bit miffed that we haven't done more? I know Rangers are some considerable way behind, but hate the fact they have outspent us. Also if Aberdeen do the business they are reported to do, and get in the signings.

I personally feel they will have a stronger team than this seasons. Fair play to them. Better league which is good. But if all we get in is mguinn Hayes, and a another squad player then that's simply not good enough.

Rodgers states we won't add to many squad players, just quality then sorry I am confused and yet to be proven wrong, but something is not right to me.

Its just SevcoMick on trying to fulfil his fantasy of being a fan of the champions. lol HH.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 20:14:17
I don't think that it's anything to worry about.
Sevco are able to make so many signings because there is no competition for these players, if their signings were up to much you would think that other clubs might be interested in them and so the deals would take longer as the players weighed up their options.
Celtic on the other hand are likely to be after players who would be attracting interest from many clubs, so the deals inevitably take longer.
I read last week that there were 9 clubs interested in Patrick Roberts, Sevco don't have that problem with their signings.

Mick the Whalloper is back. Am seething too Mick, the Sheep will be brilliant next year and wait a minute Sevco have signed Internationally acclaimed personnel that will make them a wee bit better than last season but let's face it that won't be hardπŸ˜€. Hail Hail.

Right lads. Is John Mcginn a good player? Has he got potential to be a big player for Celtic? I haven't seen enough of him to judge!

Believable1 Unbelievable2

27 Jun 2017 19:47:22
He's a talented lad could do with bulking up a bit but if he has the mindset of an Armstrong or Tierney he"ll do well in the game.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jun 2017 19:57:14
Like Hayes he'd be an improvement on the squad players we have in his position atm i. e. Henderson, Allan and, heart-wise, Bitton. Depending on Scott Brown's retirement plans he could be a long term replacement.

27 Jun 2017 20:00:36
Not for me!

Ain't better than anyone already in our squad.

28 Jun 2017 10:32:48
Dont think he's any better than Henderson.

27 Jun 2017 09:44:41
If the window shut today I'd be confident of qualifying for CL and winning the league by 15+ points. The club are doing the right thing by waiting to see who becomes available in order to recruit the very best players within our budget. My only worry currently is the Armstrong contract situation. He's completely within his rights to wait and assess his options but he'd be a big loss.

27 Jun 2017 11:29:17
My thoughts are the same Kev, Armstrong is a must to get signed up on a new deal asap. I think the only piece of business that will be done in the transfer market before qualifiers will be McGinn coming in. I'm sure we'll have more than enough to get through qualifiers with what we have then hopefully show our financial strength with a couple of real quality signings. Rather have it this way than buying for the sake of buying, we've been stung before doing that.

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Jun 2017 13:18:32
McGinn is not good enough yet for us

Signing him now would be for the sake of buying

Let's see how he does this year, another Scot Allan scenario this is.

Agree0 Disagree3

27 Jun 2017 13:19:29
Totally agree about Armstrong lads, Need that sorted ASAP! But I feel we definitely need another centre half brought in! The first couple of qualifiers should be fine but there's a few decent teams in that play off round and still feel it's a weak point. big jozo has looked the part, but while I give boyata credit for working his way back in the 2nd half of last season, I still feel he ain't good enough for CL football.

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Jun 2017 14:16:37
the team from last season will win the league no bother so it is not a disaster if no one comes apart from hayes disappointing yes, as for armstrong he has had one really good season so let's not go overboard in trying to keep him if he is looking to go let him he is easier to replace than moussa or griff or paddy.

Agree0 Disagree4

27 Jun 2017 14:55:03
Win the league yes IMO But qualifying for the CL. Not so confident depending on how the draw goes at the later rounds I would prefer to have one or two more in just to be sure but I am one of those just in case sort of people.

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Jun 2017 16:21:34
We'd all love to have our business done before a ball is kicked tony I agree but we qualified last season and the difference between the squad now and 12 months ago is night and day. We've now got Brown and Armstrong forging a great partnership, Dembele and Siclair fully bedded in and ripping teams apart, a fully fit Jozo and Craig Gordon looks far less shaky - these things should be enough to see us through qualification. I repeat, "should".

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jun 2017 16:42:46
Kev T you can't put McGinn in the same category as the Scott Allan scenario. For starters Allan had been down south and couldn't hack it before he went to Hibs. I would be more likely to put him in the James McCarthy scenario when when we missed the boat when he went to Wigan.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jun 2017 19:30:16
Speaking of missed boats. fletcher (not my cup of tea) but someone a lot of fans were upset about not signing.
I say if McGinn has potential let's get him in and give him a shout.
I maintain the only reason we signed Scott Allan was because we could and it would flex or muscles over The tribute act.
