James McFadden will begin talks with Celtic next week over a move to the Champions. McFadden is out of contract at Motherwell and has recently come back into form after long spells out with injury.

Hooper and Wanyama will be sold, club delaying it to sell season tickets, but both will leave before transfer window shuts. Fans should hold of buying season books until we see what product we are paying for, as the club are taking piss of our loyalty

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Please shut up! Total nonsense Celtic will sell both an reinvest wisely. I smell sevco fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baws! Big Vic and hooper were always likely to go this summer, we have offered them contract extensions if they don't want to sign them then good luck to them both. I've renewed my season ticket and I couldn't be happier with how my club is being run

Agree0 Disagree0

Sevconian alert! I don't know one fan who expects them to stay.They will leave with my best wishes and thanks for a good job.A tidy fee adds to the cushion. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

The saddest of the sad and a zombie to boot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit late mate! We have officlally sold more season tickets than last year. And I can't agree with your opinion. Not Celtic's fault Hooper is about as bright as a blackout and thinks moving to Hull or Reading will get him a place in the England squad. As for Big Vic, well. his agent is from the slug McCoist's school of sneaky wee slimey c*nts and is badly representing and advising his client to benefit himself. Celtic are doing the right thing.

When they go we will bring in new faces. Obviously not at the same money we will have sold Hoops and Wanyama for but that's the point isn't it. To get them cheap or at a good price and get a few good years out of them whilst developing there game and then sell them on for a good profit. If the players had any brains they would play the game Celtic are. Court the interested clubs and play them against each other until one bids and start a bidding war. The player gets his move to the Premiership or the other big leagues, gets rich and Celtic get there payday but agents always f*ck it up.

Agents are ruining the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice try well not really, how sad it is to be a zombie eh. The only reason people will not buy season tickets is because there's not much left, for we all knew they would leave and know we have a lot of talent still. and how sweet it is to make a new spl record again by selling one player, which we have more players worth a lot and no debt. Doing it the right way!

Sick of the sevconians trying to rub it into us for loseing out best players 1 wee have one of the best scouting systems going on a shoe string budget and 2 whell get top dollar for them ie keeps our books balanced stops us from going down the liquidation road unlike 1 club I could mention that went to the wall for very poor mismanagement of the club with good rangers men also with there hand in the honeypot so jogg on pal. Can anyone help? See sevco keep coming out saying they've signed this, that and the next guy. How can they? I thought the embargo stopped signings pre-contract or no? Asked a zombie at work but got told to F off an cut my crap haha {Ed007's Note - Sounds like a usual knuckle-dragger answer, just don't give him a tip for going for the tea tomorrow.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe you would have got a decent answer if u weren't so childish to run around calling us Sevco fair enough if use have no respect for us whatsoever see if I care but u should listen to yourselves especially the ones who say Daily Sevco & Sevco TV . As a Gers fan I wouldn't be surprised to see some of those contracts ripped up as soon as the ST money is in. What's happened to my club kills me and it makes me sick to my stomach seeing people like Ahmed Stockbridge Green & Whyte anywhere near us the jury's still out on Craig Mather but really don't appreciate the knuckle dragger comment absolute no need it's clear we have an element of that on both sides.

Larky Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

Larky, you sound like a decent guy, but you call yourselves rangers, sevco bought rangers when you liquidated . and liquidated names, badges or colours can't be used as you will discover when the process is ''finally'' completed.
so us calling you sevco is closer to the truth . oh and this must be the longest admin/liquidation in the history of the business world shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

No trust me this is no where near the longest liquidation in history. Liquidators like lawyers get paid by the hour. I can't help but agree with Larky Trangers are being raped by bad men. Sadly this goes under the heading "normal buisness practice" in this country and all the possibly illigal going ons are only illegal if they get caught. The only way Trangers will be introuble for using the club crest etc, is if creditors or BDO object, which they would be quite entitled to do. I won't hold my breath.

Talking to a mate from Liverpool and it seems that if Rogers can off load Henderson big Vic is the target.Suarez also might have a say, if he goes money will be there, but Henderson is the big rumour. Problem is the boy is on a fortune and who will pay for him? You heard anything ED?. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - I heard about it yesterday, it seems that Rodgers has change his mind about Henderson from last year and wants to keep him so I can't see where that part came from. Thankfully we shouldn't have Suarez staining the EPL for much longer, the way he has acted and treated a once great club, during his time there is an embarrassment that will take a while to go away. That's what happens when smaller teams try to compete with the 'big boys', they will sign any dreg of society to try and get a foot up. LFC are not seen as a current big club, they have no historical pull to young players after 20+ years without winning the league with no signs of their decline stopping any time sign. I can't say I'm not enjoying it though. I will predict a 7th spot finish for them next season, no matter who they go o to sign. 7th seems about their level.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

ED007: I make you right.I think Liverpool have missed the boat and are pretty much out of things for the long term. They are miles behind the recognised top three or four and not even guaranteed to challenge the next group.

On Suarez, I agree.Great player but the baggage and attitude are a real problem.It seems Real Madrid are distancing themselves from him a bit, though this might be a tactic to lower the price. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - A lot of people thought he would have wormed his way to Juventus but Tevez beat him too 'Scumbag of the Year'..... just!}

Ed with Lenny confirming he is looking for at least two more players do you have any idea what positions these are now we have signed the big striker and composed defender we have needed for a while.

I think we need:
1. A creative midfielder/ or Rogic gets his chance in that role.
2. Decent back up keeper to push FF.

I think this could be the year some of the youngsters get the chance they deserve McGeoch, Watt, Atajic, Twardzik brothers especially in the league cup games. Boys like McGeoch and Atajic for me would bring far more to the shirt than Mcfadden.

CeltStu

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If Hooper or Stokes or both go we need at least one more striker. I think the midfield is strong enough even without Wanyama. i'd hope we would get another defender. Also we bought a young Swedish goalie last year i'd like to see him pushing Forster. mark

Celtic should do all the can to hold onto Gary hooper personally I'd make him the highest earner at the club and give him the number seven to try ang coax him into staying not to bothered about wanyama as the deal would be good for both party's but would like to see miby a lw creative flair player signed aswell as another out and out no nonsece centre half! Thoughts troops

Kieran1888

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm Gary Hooper's biggest fan, have always stuck by him on here when the knives have been out for him. Not sure if I'd make him the highest paid at the club but I would certainly have him on a par with Scott Brown, as far the No7 jersey I wouldn't have an issue with that but not sure if that would seal the deal to be honest. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Joe Ledley is out biggest earner btw. I heard it from a Celtic players mouth. He says its not the weekly wage as that would infact be Broony but its to do with Ledley having control over his image rights and gets bigger bonuses. He negotiated the deal as he was free and with Celtic not paying a fee for what would been a multi million pound player they gave him what he wanted. (with regards to his image rights and high bonuses)

I think he's been worth every penny to be honest. Great player and seems to have really taken the club to his heart and become a Celtic man. I know he will always be a Cardiff man first and foremost but Celtic must be close behind.

Alright guys Bear in peace here some Celtic fan posted on our site few weeks ago we would be signing Rogne which was laughed off obviously personally I would have welcomed him with open arms but knew it was a non starter. I rate the lad was excellent against England u21 a few weeks ago do yous think he will flop in the Championship with Wigan I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be a top defender down there thoughts guys?

Larky Bear {Ed007's Note - Evening LB. I for one, was surprised to see Rogne gone, I thought he deserved another 2/3 years to see how he settled down, he is only 22 after all.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I never seen the rumour about Rogne going to Rangers but agreed Larky, I would also have dismissed it as a non starter.

I'm just disappointed he never got a decent run injury free. He does have plenty potential and I wish him all the best ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

So what sort of fee do you expect to see for him did he have long left on his contract ed? An England u21 defender would probs skin you about 10million sods law!

Larky Bear {Ed007's Note - He was out of contract completely so all we will get is training compensation, I'd hazard a guess at around £200k. There is even some controversy there because of when Rogne's birthday falls.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. Such a shame he seemed to suffer from so many injuries. I think he will do okay, better if he can get a good long run of games. I think your right ED, he is young and I thought he deserved some more time.green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Ovcourse Mrs E it was one of those posters who were so certain aswell may even have been a Fact! lol I replied after people were saying he was rank where I strongly disagree I'm more than sure it was the morning after the U21 international I previously mentioned. Wigan are a good Club if he gets 1st team football I'm sure hel enjoy playing for them.

When I first saw a pic of the new hoops I thought it was a bit iffy. Having just seen it in the flesh so to speak I like it. Not our best version, but definitely a good stab. As an added bonus the sponsors logo is not as intrusive either.green jhedi

Dave King asked the SFA if he would pass a fit and proper person test to become a new club director, given his South African tax convictions etc. And told no.
Surely the SFA knew all this for many years. His old boss Ogilvie knew it and had become president of SFA. Ogilvie also knew about EBTs, he was on one.
Why didn't the SFA years ago tell rangers under SDM to give King the push for not being a fit director?
There's something deeply uncomfortable about a man who turns up in 1970s Apartheid South Africa with £10 and becomes the country's richest man, throughout three decades of Apartheid. You don't achieve that by being anti apartheid.
And where were the Scottish media investigative journalists? His story is screeming out for investigation. Where's Panorama on the streets of Johannesburg?

Daily Record saying Wee Ahmed was caught on tape talking to Craig Whyte about selling 5 million worth of shares to one of Interpol's most wanted. Just proves Old/New Club is just full of corruption. Gandalf the Green

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What the record released has been around for months. This is the tip of the iceberg.Yesterdays news was obviously released to suit the cardigan.They need Stockbridge out as he's still Greens man.The levels of corruption at the dust bowl seems to be of no concern to our governing body. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

GJ, I read an article the other day about the SFA's vetting process and I don't think its worth the paper its written on.

Seemingly if no company law is being broken the SFA have no grounds to interfere with who owns or takes a share of a public limited company. If it did attempt to block a takeover or obstruct a Club's subsequent spending it would be taken to court and the SFA would lose.

The SFA does not have the expertise or money to launch a full blown investigation into everyone who buys into a Club.

If Rangers want to be up to their eyes in debt and still pay £4m for the likes of Jelavic, the SFA have no powers to stop that happening and Rangers themselves need to suffer the consequences of that (which they did).

I'm not awfy sure of the ins & outs but it seems all a Club has to do is provide an official return which is a list of directors and office-bearers who can be held accountable.

All anyone has to do to avoid investigation is keep their name off that list. Some Clubs have the Football Club board and a PLC board, the SFA have no power over the PLC board.

I suppose that's where Fan power should come into it but some prefer to keep their head in the sand ~ Mrs E

Here's my thoughts on what I see could happen this transfer window.
Big Vic leaves for 12.5 million
Hooper leaves for 5.5million
Forster leaves for 6 million (especially if don't qualify for group stages)
Total: 24 million

Here's what I'd like us to do with it:
Gk replacement. If Sunderland do go for Forster, I'd ask for Westwood as part of the deal. If not, I still think Given could do a job. certainly in spl (4 mill plus Westwood)
Striker: Austin for me is man to replace hooper, without doubt (5-6 mill)
Midfielder: James mc Carthy. yes splash the money on this lad, will be a hero for many years in his beloved hoops jersey (8 mill)
Wingers: hunt and mackay Stevens. both gives us genuine options out wide. mixture of experience and youth. (4 - 5 million tops)

Total on fees: worst case in this, we break even on fees alone (not roughing the champions league money)
The departures I obviously hope don't happen, but there's every chance all 3 could be gone.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

With respect mate that's madness. Given:injury prone and his best is behind him.even with a cut he would be looking for around £20k a week.
Austin: Is the rumour his wife can't settle? if so moving up here won't help.He will go for the bigger cash in the championship or lower EPL.
McCarthy: Missed the boat there.do you really think we will pay £8m? He'll move to prem team and earn over £30k a week.
Hunt: Really?
GMS: Typical winger, hot and cold although good on his game. A bit like forrest.

We have to start using the youth we bring through. We have a lot ready to kick on, time to see what they are made of. Money has to be spent wisely there's no guarantee of CL money. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Charlie Austin and agree we should put a bid in for him if Hooper Leaves. Gary Mackay-Stevens for what he would cost us is a no brainer for me. No risk and is still young so would earn us a fee a back even if he didn't become a major success. If however he clicked and thrived under the pressure of playing for a big club and performed in the Champions League showcasing his flicks and tricks then the fee he could command would be frightening.

James McCarthy had a £20 million price tag put on him the other day by Owen Coyle and Dave Whelan. Not a chance with that one.

Stephen Hunt? Really wouldn't appreciate him signing to be honest. I would much rather see a young player getting a chance before him.

As for big herman munster in the sticks Sunderland seem to be the team linked with him and I think your idea of a swap with Westwood plus money is a good one.

Personally I think Celtic should go for Marc Janko, Gary Mackay-Stevens and Junior Malanda of Zulte-Waregem.

Janko and Malanda to replace Hooper and Wanyama if they leave.
