As far as our club is concerned it looks like it will slowly click into place after numerous incidents where it tries to stay open but Lawwell employs a few heavies to make sure it closes firmly. HH.

Can see us trying to get another loan deal done for a PSG player in the final few days like last season. Most likely are right backs Alec Georgen or Colin Dagba or centre mids Antoine Bernede or Yacine Adli.

Just read that we are looking at possibly beating Rangers to the signing of Jordan Jones from Kilmarnock. do we really need another winger?
surely there also must be about 10 going either permanently or on loan?
Bitton
Benyu
Kouassi
Allan
Hayes
.
id like to see Lewis Morgan and Ryan Christie given a chance this year though.

Ed like you I believe there will be transfer activity this week with 3-4 players coming in and a good few leaving either on loan or permanently. My question is do you think any deals will be done before Friday? Obviously we have an important EL game to prepare for and play on Thursday. If by Thursday there hadn't been any deals concluded then my optimism for 3 or 4 deals will disappear and I think maybe only 1deal will happen on the final day of the transfer window.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It'll be Peter Lawwell working on any signings so what's happening with games etc will have no effect on that but I'll definitely be worried if there hasn't been any movement before Friday.}

I know it’s been said many times so far this window but it really has been embarrassing from us . We were told from a very early point that we were β€œdown the line with a few signings β€œ and wanted players in early for the champions league push. Obviously that ship sailed and then we had the sniping from the gaffer, Boyata, and now with a few days left we are scratching around . With rumours of a couple of bids coming in for Ntcham, Dembele . We have two big games coming up this week so really business needs to be done in the next couple of days so we can concentrate on them. Honestly if Carlsberg done transfer windows for the people this could be it. The club as a whole need to hang their head at this shambles where we go from everything rosy to this in about 6 weeks . I’m praying we get two wins next but this needs addressing ASAP.

Ed007, is there any real substance to the rumours about John Terry / Gary Cahill or just the usual lazy jounrnalism?
i think a proven experienced player would be ideal to help bring through players like Ajer and Hendry.
Also, is Boyata extending his current deal or do you think he will be sold before Friday?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - It wasn't a journalist that told me but Chelsea have given Cahill permission to speak to Galatasaray this afternoon. I think Boyata will leave.}

27 Aug 2018 16:42:13
Can wee assume the Jeffrey Bruma rumours were just that, rumours?
I can't believe we would allow ourselves to go into the match with them next Sunday weaker than what we are now.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - There was never anything in the Bruma rumours, they were started by a guy on Tw@tter.}

27 Aug 2018 17:17:12
John Terry would be a total nightmare signing and should be nowhere near our club - even in desperation. He's the type of undesirable character more associated with a club with no integrity, morals or history; if you know what I mean. Other posters must see this?

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Aug 2018 18:41:51
Hi Ed007 BR has mentioned 3/ 4 new players is that just wishful thinking or is that including the players all ready in? And can u actually seeing this amount of players coming in?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yes.}

27 Aug 2018 20:00:45
Wouldn't mind Cahill on loan. But would rather we spent on defence not loan. If we do lose on Sunday I hope Lawwell and Desmond are in attendance and the people laugh in their faceshop. As afterall that was the reason BR was brought in to turn things around.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Aug 2018 15:07:55
Not a chance will let Dembele, Ntcham go this window. So calm down. January maybe, but its hard to replace in January.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2018 15:45:35
I agree!
as far as Im aware the club aren't in any desperate need to raise funds and it would be stupid for us to let our best assets leave going into the first match against them.
we have missed out on our top transfer targets and its unfortunate Eddy is injured but I firmly believe we will get a couple in over the next few days to add to what we have.
Beat Suduva, Beat them and we could be top of the league as well as into the group stages of Europa. not bad for a "crisis"

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Aug 2018 13:52:14
It could be a terrible 3 days for us if the rumours/ info Ed has shared ends up happening. Potentially losing Dembele, Boyata and Ntcham and replacing them with loans. Its back to the Deila days by the looks of it.

I just hope we bring in at least one quality player on a permanent deal. If not then this will have been a shocking window.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

27 Aug 2018 14:23:12
We were always keeping one eye on the exit door with Moussa and if we are really honest - quality player that he is - he has had far too many injury problems, missing a good few games since he arrived and it seemed big Eddy was always to be his replacement.
Boyata looked not very happy to be here yesterday, although to his credit he did a decent job and secured three points (choke choke) and getting him out the door was always dependent on replacement.
It would be really bad if we lost Ntcham so late in the window, however, as he really makes a big impact on the pitch, capable of different roles, scores goals and was really looking the part.
The 'window' was looking very disappointing so far, but IF we lose three permanent players and recruit loans - that nobody else wants, then we are going down a very dangerous road?
However, I will wait and see what really happens before I react.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2018 13:07:23
Im confident even with our problems at the back wel all be happy this time next week, wel see off suduva with a couple of goals and im quietly cobfident wel do them aswell on Sunday, don't think they're as gd as they think. Two draws and a win, i just hope we don't get bullied next week. il be praying for at least one cb and a right back. We really really needto strenghen there. Hail hail.

ED007 just read about your father in law last night, my condolences to you and your wife and rest of your family. I was down near St Constanines church today and lit some candles for my deceased relatives but also lit one for your father in law. Sorry for being so late.
Anyway, I have a question if you do not mind, at the game yesterday, gossip was Boyata may stay until January, unless we get a replacement and a big offer.
Have you heard anything on the grapevine.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Thank you very much, Tim that's a lovely gesture and my wife sends her love and thanks.
Some bad news this morning on the transfer front - Andoni Zubizarreta the Marseilles Sporting Director and a few legal people/agents are due in London later this week to see if a deal can be done for Dembele.......
Gary Cahill or Michael Hector who will both be leaving Chelsea this week, perhaps to Galatasaray and Sheffield Wednesday - and remember BR knows John Terry well.
(I'm waiting on Ed002 getting back to me about Harold Moukoudi but she said that clearly a CB is wanted by Celtic.)
BR to return to Chelsea and enquire about Tammy Abraham who wants to stay but
will get very few chances this season - although he is not keen to drop down to the Championship with Nottingham Forest or Aston Villa.
With Southampton overrun with striker and no one showing an interest in Manolo Gabbiadini and Sam Gallagher now staying, Shane Long is now certainly on the possible out list with interest from Celtic and several Championship sides. This would allow Dembele to be moved on but Southampton would want a sale and I suspect Celtic might just want a loan whilst they consider their options.
Interest in Nick Powell (AM/S) from West Brom and Celtic is known, but Wigan are not looking to sell or loan him.}

27 Aug 2018 13:13:26
Ed, is the prospect of Dembele leaving really that bad if we get a strong fee for him which is then reinvested in the playing squad? I know he's very capable but he is also very injury prone. When he's fit he is definitely the best we have up front but a lot of the time he isn't fit. Of course any fee received may not be spent in which case we should hold onto the lad. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There were murmurs that Dembele was going to extend his contract but the longer this windows went on the more I've thought he could leave, Marseilles are long time admirers of Moussa and I'm surprised they've waited this long sine the Pub League window closed to make a move.}

Benkovic From Leicester any known interest in him ED?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That could be a possibility but I'd be surprised if it happens.}

27 Aug 2018 13:45:12
Yeah specially when he's just arrived but BR was asked about this French lad and he didn't say no so time will tell and thanks for the update. I hope MD stays cause I don't think replacement this late on will be as good.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know if maybe Leicester bought him think Man Utd would be back on deadline day for Harry Maguire but from what I've read it seems Benkovic will be fifth choice behind Maguire, Soyuncu (when fit), Morgan/Evans, so I do see him going out on loan.}

27 Aug 2018 15:44:18

Sorry to hear about your father in law ED. Condolences to you and your Mrs.

So the mumurs are Dembele could be sold to Marseille and replaced with a loan? Seen another post about Ntcham too!? What a disaster of a window this could turn out to be. Tammy Abraham would be a good like for like but do you think Chelsea would deal with us after the Musonda fiasco? Also what was the mention of John Terry do you think that's a possibility?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate. Edouard was bought as Dembele's replacement. I don't know anything about Ntcham leaving and have no idea how Kris Boyd of all people would know. I'd say John Terry's a possibility - the clue being that I posted it up πŸ˜‰

27 Aug 2018 16:57:42
Ah okay ED lol I just got a little confused (doesn't take much) JT surely do a job for a season as cover for Compper if we can get him out the door. If Dembele is being sold hopefully we can get another CAM in as well as the 3-4 signings expected.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't be overly impressed with Terry signing, the only good point is that it would help develop Ajer but the last few times I've watched him he looked sloooowwwww.}

JT has lost a lot of pace but usually made up for it with his positioning. Haven't seen much of him at Villa but surprised he played over 30 games. Agree a season moulding Ajer and bringing him on would be worth the signing. Plus he's the type of player that could debit against them and cruise it, No pun intended Kev. Has the Chirivella interest cooled off now Ed? Maybe end up a loan for Drinkwater or McTominay instead?

Liam Moore - Reading
Philipp Sandler - Man City
Filip Benkovic - Leicester

All 4 of these CB have been watched and linked with Celtic a some point the scouts must have a fair bit of detail on each of these players surely to god 1 of these lads can do the job at the back either alongside Boyata or as a replacement

Brendan has spoken about 4 new faces I find it hard to believe 4 new faces will come through the doors this week today being Monday and nothing new as of yet means 4 new faces in 4 days can't see it

all I'm praying for is a CB and someone to replace Stu Armstrong think he is happy with Arzani Morgan Mikey Johnstone to fill the gap to replace Paddy Roberts

What's the thoughts of everyone else? How many new faces are you lot expecting and what areas do you think need the bodies?

I am going to put this one out there.

I want the mob to get through their qualifier and in to the group's along with us.

I have 2 seasons for this

1- I want them playing Thursday then Sunday same as us

2- the coefficient boost. We need more teams for Scotland helping us boost it.

Money doesn't matter, they are spending it anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2018 08:47:55
It’s the extra money they get Kev! They are banking on reaching groups. I thought it’s now down to individual teams now to accumulate their own points not collectively.

27 Aug 2018 09:35:53

27 Aug 2018 12:59:46
Want them humped and dumped. No money no glory no future. They are relying on the group stage income to pay for what they already have. It's a gamble I hope fails and drags them back to where they belong. DEAD never to rise again. If I had a choice of playing 4 qualifiers every year and the persons gone or playing 3 qualifiers every year it's a no brainer. HH.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2018 13:10:12
I agree and have said it before. I wand them to qualify s9 they play midweek as well. They don’t have the same depth of squad as us so would struggle each Sunday after Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2018 16:41:22
I hope they qualify too it could ruin their chances of a title challenge. They don't have the squad to play all those games and if we are in front by Christmas then they'll never catch us. Doesn't matter what money they get they already amassed a ton of debt they'll continue to spend what they don't have to try stop us reaching the 10.

Edg. I think the other mob have spent Β£17 million, raised from Hummel shirt deal, renaming of Murray Park and the few sales they have made.
They are trying to raise a Β£12 million share issue, to probably cover loans they have taken out.
Whatever happens, at the moment they have spent more than us on transfers.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Β£17 million, how do you work that out? And Hummel won't be divvying up the full whack of the first instalment because they can't sell any shirts, TRIFC will have already breached clauses in the deal.}

Can we all just chill out a bit? getting a bit annoyed at all these panic merchants jumping the gun talking about BR walking away and even boycotting home matches. disgrace! we've just won a double double! aye we haven't had the best start to the season, granted, but this is exactly the right time to pack the stadium out and show our support. dare I say it, the one thing our asbo neighbours across the way get right is their stadium is full every week. i bought tickets for the suduva match there and was shocked at how many wer still left for general sale. I urge everyone to think positive. its taken us into our 3rd season to have a minor blip and all this scaremongerin and negativity is exactly sevco and the papers want.

After all the hoo har by the media the past few weeks if we actually sign the quality needed before Friday, qualify for EL and Sevco get knocked out then lose to us all of that pressure will end up on Stevies door. As big as a week it is for us it's probably bigger for them they need the money and the momentum. After all the praises they've had and all the signings if they get pumped 4-1 by us on Sunday then the questions will be asked about them. Is Gerrard good enough? Are the players good enough? They'd already be 4 points behind us with our poor start.
