Just thinking about all those journalists and ex players who treated us all to a Celtic/ Sevco select team at the start of the season! Some even put in six Sevco players! Laughable at the time, absolutely ridiculous now! None of that mob would get anywhere near our team in my opinion!

Journalists; you serious mate LOL. These Stenographers are just just sad bunch of script writers for Level5 and Jabba the Nut. I can't think of any team that would have the Tribute act's players on their books. Simply not good enough, too old, naive, outrageously overpaid or simply pish footballers.

Just noticed that sinclair needs to score in 8 consecutive games to equal the record the media talks nonsense saying he had equalled it then broke it.

8 is probably the Scottish record Gordo, 6 is the Celtic record I believe.

Media wrong-McGrory's record is 8.

26 Sep 2016 17:10:19
I know McGrory scored in his first 8 Celtic appearances but am not sure if those were all league games or there were cup games as well. So it is possible the media did not get it wrong and that Sinclair is first to score in his first 6 league games. Perhaps someone can confirm if McGrory's 8 included cup games.

I wasn't there in 1936 RabMac but as far as I'm aware Jimmy McGrory scored in 8 consecutive league matches brother 🍀.

According the Jim McGrory's wikipedia page (I know it could be wrong) , McGrory made his Celtic debut against Third Lanark in 1923 and we lost that game 1-0.

This would suggest we all have the stat wrong. I am wondering if the stat relates to scoring in each of the first 8 games of a different season.

RabMac. I think (not sure) the record relates to 8 consecutive opening league matches not necessarily the first 8 or his first games for Celtic. Not sure brother. as like I said. I was 29 years short of being there. Up to be corrected though Rab 🍀.

Maybe the record for 6 consecutive goals was debut league games and at any point consecutive is 8.

CHeers JFP, I don't know myself, was hoping someone else could put us right on it though. ;)

RabMac-more importantly let's just hope he can keep the run going and stick one in the pokey on Wednesday night. Would like to see Sinclair doing it for his sake as much as ours against his former club given the impact he's had for Celtic since arriving. No Budgie Barton stuff-he's just produced the goods and said nothing.

Think they might be talking about from when the premier league started. Was it 76 it started getting called the premier league?

Cracking quote JFP 1888 ' no budgie Barton stuff ' I love it and never a truer word spoken really think or at least hope Sinclair keeps sticking them in like the look of the boy early days but certainly doing his talking on the pitch.

De bruyne is very good but I am not going to feel sorry for them, they have an excellent squad .
Can't say I think much of their fans, I hear they have returned 500 out of the 2000 allocated.

Tough game coming up against City folks, but I've a wee sneaky suspicion your team will spring a surprise result. Parkhead can be a noisy and intimidating place when it's full so anyone who writes Celtic off might be left to rue it, all it might take is self-belief and a slice or two of luck.

At present we are still building a team to hopefully get to the standards of a few years back when we could match the likes of Man Utd, AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, Lyon and others and Celtic Park was seen as one of Europes more difficult venues.
Unfortunately while our quality has slipped in recent times, Europes Elite have got richer and better - thanks to the manipulation of the groups and draws to suit the favoured, more powerful countries allowing them almost guaranteed success and obscene amounts of cash.
BR has made a significant difference to Celtic in a very short time and will need time to build his own side and add even better players to compete at this level and the support as usual, have every faith.

in truth the result could go 0-7 to 7-0 and any result in between - and I wouldn't be surprised regardless.

I would settle for a really boring 1-0 - most likely result is 3/ 4 to man city and for celtic to at least score.

but big euro night in paradise and anything can happen.

Nobody could take 7 off us in a packed Paradise digi (hope that one doesn't come back to bite me in the arse) but you're right anything can happen in a Euro night at CP, the only problem is as I was 11 has pointed out that Europes elite have got a helluva lot richer in the last 5 years and sadly nights like we've been used to against the big guns could be a thing of the past. I believe there are 4 clubs at the moment on their day that can give most teams a serious doing and unfortunately we've got 2 of them in our group, infact those 2 will more than likely be at least semi finalists maybe finalists .

I just hope that they make a game if it an earn some respect. To even talk of winning is insanity and don't get me wrong, I will be on the wagon come kick off.

Back on planet sense though, we have to accept getting
anything from this game will take so e doing. Avoiding the total baws parting is my main reasonable hope.
My irrational, we can do this, will, as I said appear.

I'm no the brightest, but, put up a fight, play football,
don't fear to express yourselves.

Have no fear, you aren't expected to do anything, prove people wrong.

Me in particular.

i know its 11 against 11 - and players like aguero play like 2 men - but the "twelfth man" is the crowd and none better than paradise

as before our big games are the germans so any points at all off mc or b are just a bonus.
