Why the heck does Sinclair take the corners or free kick crosses? He is shiat at them and always puts it at the near post where our players never are. There are clearly better players at crossing and corners.

Ed you know why it's always SS taking corners?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - I'd imagine Rodgers tells him to mate.}

Thought he done ok at Dembele' s first on 10 September!

Are we not scoring enough. jeeeez, some folk just have to scrape the barrell to get a moan. Cheer up fella.

Good insight ed, wasn't expecting that ha.

Bhampot
Since corners are a big factor in the game, think you would want to be good at it. not just talking about this game or league but CL and cup tourneys. Not scraping anything, a team works on what they are weak at right?

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Oct 2016 05:57:23
Whilst on the topic, he's got a way to go on his finishing too. I'm pleased with how he has been don't get me wrong, but SS should be well into double figures by now some of the chances he's missed. It's pleasing he's getting in those positions though and hopefully it's still just about getting a bit more sharpness.

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Oct 2016 07:03:22
Id say were scoring freely from open play more, which is great, so as important as corners are, its not a concern for me just now, but granted, work needs done and i'm sure it is. Jimtim, i would want to rest SS for the odd game here and there. He hasn't stopped since signing, its a high energy game on the wing, but the boy doesn't want rest. That pleases me greatly, and he will be rewarded with plenty more goals.

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Oct 2016 09:13:54
I'm sure he will Bhampot, I would think in time the whole team will improve and results like last night can happen every other week, if not more often. I think last night was a good example of squad management. SS and MD i had penciled in for a rest last night looking at the fixture list. They got a rest, but still came on for a bit against a tired side to finish the job. You could see the difference their energy and quality made. That's nothing against the bhoys that started, I would be amazed to see a team with 8 changes play as well together as the 'first team'.

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Oct 2016 17:11:37
Funny enough if we had a corner taker who delivered the near perfect corner every time the amount of goals we would score would dry up. Opposing managers would have little bother defending the "perfect penalty" as they would know the area the ball would finish up in and they could defend it .
If u ever watch Match of the Day eFeb though we are watching the best paid and definitely best footballers in the world there are many goals resultibg from miss hit corner kicks.

26 Oct 2016 22:20:16
Ed what's happening way KC? Is he injured or just being dropped.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - He's not injured Marti but don't you need to have been in the team to get dropped? I think tonight finally showed how far down the pecking order Commons is now.}

26 Oct 2016 22:36:10
He is overweight. If he was serious about getting into the squad he would need to knuckle down and get fit. What a waste. No matter what anyone thinks about him or his missus, he was a fantastic player. Whatever happened was not good for the player or for Celtic.

Agree3 Disagree1

26 Oct 2016 22:50:59
Ppl get over it KC was going down hill for years and now finally we have a manager to put Ppl who don't give 110% in their place by not playing! KC thought he ruled at celtic, it's paddy mccourt all over again.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - McCourt never caused the sort of problems Commons has.}

26 Oct 2016 23:10:29
Read an interesting article today and BR stated that he and his management team won't even train overweight players.

Unfortunately for commons there isn't any room for passengers in the current celtic team and that kinda rules him out.

As a player tho i did like the bhoy and on the field he did a job for us but he's best moving on.
I still think he has something to offer wherever he goes and wish him luck.

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Oct 2016 08:59:41
Read that article as well and as far as I know commons has been training with the first team squad so he can't be over weight?

Agree0 Disagree3

27 Oct 2016 17:17:25
I read last week B Rodgers said that there were players here who wanted to train with first team but they were too fat . The minimum starting point would have to be no excess fat .

Funny I tried to think who he was talking about, my mind went K Commons but I couldn't of any others.

Chris Sutton is a legend lol.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

26 Oct 2016 22:17:13
Is he? Why? I normally like him but thought he was a bit of a twat tonight. CG wasn't a red card tonight as whilst I absolutely hate MS he was right about it and CS was wrong.

Agree2 Disagree5

26 Oct 2016 22:22:48
Never a red but he has to be negative to us about something I suppose everything else I agree with.

Agree1 Disagree2

26 Oct 2016 22:51:14
Doesn't need to be a red card tackle to get a red card if u play for celtic. If he does that against hearts or Aberdeen or sevco it would more than likely get a red. Stupid from Gordon again, no need for it unless it's one on one. Think he's heard sweeper keeper a few too many times.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Oct 2016 22:57:01
What? Why do people defend CG? Seriously is it cause he is Scottish?

He ran and took out (5 yards. beyond thw box) the player with knee close to the head it was a dangerous play and did NOT play the ball. he is lucky to not get a red. plus this is the 2nd time he has done that. He is a bomb scare and an ambrose in nets. Why does all his kicks go out of bounce or to the other team? cause he is good?

He has a problem and scared to go after the ball inside the box when he has a clear chance at it but when he has no chance and it's outside the box he does not wait and just goes after it leaving net wide open. like in CL earlier that cost us goals. but i guess to you that's a great keeper.

Agree0 Disagree2

26 Oct 2016 23:45:22
Em no footy, in no way did I say that CG was/ is a good player nor do I like or rate him him. All I'm saying is that it wasn't a red card and I don't agree with CS. what has him being Scottish got to do with anything?

I agree with you that he is a bomb scare and his reading/ anticipation of the ball is dreadful hence the mistimed challenge but it stil wasn't a red card. If the ref did give a red card however it wouldn't have surprised me. I think it was one if those decisions where half of us will say it wasn't a red card and half will say it was. Can't win or agree with them all.

If it was an outfield player that made the same challenge would we be saying it was a red? Maybe, maybe not? I would guess more would say not.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Oct 2016 06:44:52
For me the Craig Gordon incident is a red card all day long. If that happens at the other end of the pitch we'd all be screaming for a red card. He comes out his box jumping up and going in with his knee. That's twice in the matter of a month or so he's done it. If he's going to come out in situations like that he really needs to speed up and make sure he takes the ball and not the man.

27 Oct 2016 17:25:59
Garryc just as I expected .
Chris Sutton was playing devil's advocate . His aim was to try to confuse the low intelligent Rangers fans who are foaming at the mouth with his descriptions of how much Celtic are superior to Rangers.

Thought izzy was outstanding tonite! Really pleased to see him come in and play like that! Gives BR another option! Thought the defending in the middle of our defence was poor tonite to be honest! Big lustig ain't a centre half! And what Gordon was thinking about I'll never know! Our subs raised our level, Sinclair and dembele are different class!

Izzy was top class.

Izzy and Armstrong were good. Henderson was ok, mcgregor was poor. Roberts was ok just a bit predictable at times.

26 Oct 2016 22:40:11
I thought Roberts got into good positions but never put a cross in or when he did which was not enough, he put it in very late. He played well enough but does not deliver a cross.

It's funny now that Lustig has actually played a couple of games as a centre back some posters are now saying he isn't a centre back .
At the start of the season when he really hadn't played centre back, I was for ever reading how good a centre half he was.
Not bad for a sick note he has played the third most minutes this season after Brown and Tierney.

Griffiths looks a poorer player from last year. Bit concerned that unless he gets game time he will not be ready if we need him and with all the games we play we will need more than Dembele?

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Oct 2016 22:38:24
Think we need to play LG and Dembelle together, all this playing one up front is a lot of crap, what does it mean?, in the man city game Dembelle was tremendous all over the place, LG works hard all over the field as well, why don't we just pretend that he is playing in midfield, and then we can still call it one up front for the one up front taliban.

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Oct 2016 11:48:09
I think against the German boys we need to go with the two, Griff in the more advanced role as Dembele has more to his game. Admitedly, we lost the last tie in the midfield, but we got to score more than them this time and they look fine together. It might cause them to alter their middle too and we'd always have the fast break and the long ball.

Tried to post this yesterday but may have made the press cancel rather than submit!

BR was asked the other day about the January window and gave the standard but at the same time sensible response that only if it improves the team.

Whilst I wouldn't mind a "better" player or two coming in January, surely January should be about getting rid either for good or loans.

Bailly, Fasan, Izzy, Boyata, Efe, O'Connell, Christie, Henderson, GMS, Commons, Ciftci and that's just off top of my head.

I wonder how much the above players weekly wage is?

Are any of the above on long term deals?

Cheers bhoys, HH.

There is no need to get rid of Christie and O'Connell, two of the better young talented players we have!

Kenlikeeh they would be better out on loan I agree with the op maybe not with all the players but trim the size of the squad down would make sense.

26 Oct 2016 14:25:40
Or Henderson.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 15:39:53
I would keep O'Connell, Henderson, Christie and Izzy if he is happy to be cover for Tierney.

In recent years we have brought in some good players and imagine we would do the same this year as we have cl gate money to spend.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 16:49:45
I think BR will be looking to get rid of a few, he stated when he came in that the squad was far to big and he likes a first team squad of about 20.
We won't really see his team until the end of next summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2016 17:48:29
There were a few from that list I'd prefer to keep but go out on loan.

There was a post yesterday that ended up with a very good B team, even the C team would finish top 6.

Need to trim, the wages saving could be used elsewhere.

Thanks for the replies bhoys, HH.

Easy to say but not many clubs are clamouring to sign many of those players. So, we either pay them off, run their contract or flog them cheap.
