I've heard from a few people that we will make an approach for Wayne Rooney this summer.

I think this would be a great move especially if Dembele moves on but I'd be astonished if we could pull it off given the wage he is on at Utd and the number of other clubs in England and abroad that would no doubt be interested in signing him.

Ed007 have you heard anything. Do you think it would be financially possible?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - That's never going to happen. Isn't he going to Ibrox because he doesn't like Chinese food?}

27 May 2017 01:39:36
The big question is LG or DM. For me it has to be LG as he's is the man on form with DM coming in later what do use guys think?

{Ed007's Note - That's what I'd do too.}

Overall I can see Aberdeen going toe to toe with us they will be very in our faces we have to be very focused they will try to bully us all over the park press high so our CBs have to be well on it the day good luck bhoys HH.

Timalloy, what's your thinking for a wee flutter tomorrow?

Not much fun or returns on a Celtic win and Griffiths to score!

No dirty teams cannae see a red card, penalty maybe? Celtic -2? Any thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 May 2017 21:04:39
@Craigie-bhoy teams not dirty? remember Madden is the ref
an ordering off is 11/ 4, penalty 9/ 4, Brown booking 6/ 4
as for goalscorers I fancy Griffiths at 7/ 4 anytime, Rogic 9/ 4 and wee paddy 7/ 4, but whisper it Rooney is 11/ 4
half with most goals second at 1/ 1
Take your pick
Also remember tomorrow is cup final day in europe also so take a wee acca of
Chelsea, Celtic, Barcelona, Dortmund and Paris St Germain all odds on but acca should pay about 4/ 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2017 22:55:19
You'd be looking at more like 6 or 7/ 1 for that Tim. I took Celtic, Chelsea, Dortmund at 3/ 1.

27 May 2017 03:06:23
I put a wee bet on Celtic and Chelsea both to win and over 2.5 goals scored in game, got 4/ 1.

27 May 2017 11:26:33
Sinclair first goal 4/ 1. Some value in that price.

Leigh' Grifiths has earned his place for me with a belter against them Huns and with the opener last week. Moussa Ten Bellys would be on the bench for me! ☘️.

26 May 2017 18:57:59
Moussa will definitely be on bench he's not played from semi against sevco.

26 May 2017 23:07:41
MD earned his place with LG on bench. However, the situation is reversed and LG now should start with MD on the bench.

Quick question Ed please. Dembele being in Chelsea on deadline day in January. Was the reason him being there actually for a medical? Was it BS and he was talking to Chelsea FC?
Or was it both?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know if he was there on deadline day but Dembele and his agent held talks with Chelsea throughout January. The club's had agreed a fee (I don't know how much but £25-30 million was the rumoured amount) but Dembele wanted guarantees about playing time as he has no intention of moving somewhere to sit on the bench and until a club offers those guarantees he's more than happy to stay at Celtic. Further talks with Chelsea are planned in the coming weeks and Ed002 is on red alert to keep me up to date on the situation.}

26 May 2017 16:03:14
JimTim: from what I remember he was at a Harley St Docs in Chelsea in Jan on deadline day was the story, and he flew back to CP later that night. It could have been all smoke and mirrors.

Was looking over the domestic results and apart from a couple of Sevco games - where big Moussa's goals were decisive - we had Sinclair, Griffiths, Armstrong and others contributing plenty goals in vast majority of the season.
I know his presence and ability made a huge difference in games, but if we do get a decent fee, I would love to see it going towards keeping Roberts, Armstrong and KT etc and bringing in a couple of CL quality additions.
I would hope that since the Chelsea approach, BR would have plenty time to identify another striker in that mould?

Strikers like Dembelle, are as scarce as hens teeth, the selling price should be over forty million.

Thanks Ed. Be sure to keep us posted.

That's the story I was referring to Peter. Just popped into my head today for some reason and I wondered if it might have been, as you say, smoke and mirrors.

OAB, whilst it's great to see all the attackers chipping in, I will never underestimate the importance of a penalty box player, an outlet and focal point. Like you say, it's the physical presence he has, combined with good tekkas, that seen him pushed to first choice. It's that mould of player we'll need to find if he does go.

{Ed007's Note - Will do, JT.}

Hi ED what is the latest on Roberts Deal has Man City accepted a bid from Celtic? last I Heard that Armstrong was close to that new contract.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - No City have not accepted a bid for Roberts.}

26 May 2017 13:01:33
The big question is are Celtic going to make an offer for Roberts? We are on the eve of the Scottish cup final does anyone know anything on MD will he make the bench?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've explained what I know about Roberts on the rumours page, Rich.
And it does look like Dembele will make the squad for tomorrow.}

26 May 2017 20:05:22
Roberts is not in Man City's plans for next season
Further enhanced by the signing today of Bernardo silva city are willing to do business. Eithercas a loan or as a transfer with a set buy back something that is common for Spanish clubs and a route beguristain regularly follows
It's really up to the player what he wants next season and how far Celtic are willing to go to secure the signature.

I hope that the talking points tomorrow are all football and not about officals. Last night again Scottish officals on the park cannot not when everyone else cleaarly does.
I am sure this has to be the poorest selection of referees and linesman in the history of scottish football. They will undoubtably quote the number of tv cameras and the speed of the game today, But their payment, training and ability to access modern media systems should prepare them for exactly that.
Spain has all of these pressures and more and is still producing high class officals. Germany has always had quality refs and linemen.

We should be doing better.

Stephen McLean is one of a growing band of dodgy or incompetent officials that regularly make high profile errors - or honest mistakes. Madden, the referee for Saturday has already shown weakness in big games, however with all the talent on show in the final let's hope it's the players who make all the headlines and limelight.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2017 17:37:47
When are they going to bring in some kind of CCTV or whatever to assist is in close decisions, they could have a couple of guys watching the monitors, and if the ref asks for help the CCTV decision is final, something like what they do in rugby.
