Even if you don't agree with what he says I don't think its really fair singling out chris02. He is right, It's a forum where opinions will split and divide and cause debates. Let the people sing an' all.

Thanks Ed .

@PedroCelt It's a banter site and everyone is open to a bit of teasing and ribbing. I'm sure there's no malice meant towards Chris02 or anyone else, we're all Tims together on here after all.

And I'm sure Chris02 is big enough to stick up for himself without you getting all Brokeback Mountain about it!

Amateur please excuse my ignorance at your above post as I never even picked up that you were teasing or ribbing. Your right we are all batting for the same team here so keep up the top notch banter and ribbings.

Now that the club are asking for people to vote for POTY, YPOTY and GOTY I wonder if it'll be ok with Chris02 if we talk about it on here now? Here's mine.

POTY - Johansen.
YPOTY - Denayer.
GOTY - Guidetti v Inter.

Anybody else think Chris02 will be firing off an e-mail to the club complaining that it's too early to be asking that?

POTY- Ambrose
YPOTY- Forrest
GOTY- Commons V Sevco

26 Mar 2015 16:27:49
Ambrose aside, i'm finding it really tough. Which is good.

POTY- Scott Brown just edges Johansen for me. Broonie really deserves one by now (i know I should be basing it on one season only), and I think he has again showed this season that we're twice the side with him than without. But it is really close.

YPOTY- Nir Bitton. Again though, special mention to Denayer. I just think that Bittons position is that bit tougher to play, particularly domestically, and the boy has been a complete breath of fresh air. I think essentially I couldn't give it to a player in on loan who has stated he'd prefer not to stay.

Goal - Commons' against Rangers is the one I enjoyed the most.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I can't make up my mind between Brown and Johansen yet but I'm going with Bitton as well for YPOTY. GOTY I've plumped for Adam Matthews scorcher against Accies, Carlos Alberto would have been proud of that.}

26 Mar 2015 16:54:58
POTY Brown
YPOY Biton
GOTY Guidetti v Milan

To be honest ed I couldn't find the nominations for goal. Matthews', like a few good team goals i'm sure, somehow skipped my mind. Literally changing my mind by the minute now between Brown and Johansen.

Amateur Horticulturist .
I belief it is far too soon to decide on player of the season . Now the club may have their own commercial reasons for starting so early but my opinion A H is that we are too premature . In the three months since January many of us are of the opinion Briton has played his way in very strongly . In the first three months Mc Gregor may have featured strongly. I know A H doesn't like the idea of me having an opinion but I just feel that a forum who have no commercial interest, or no end of season dead- line, should wait for all the season before deciding player of the year .
That's my opinion, of which I believe I should be entitled to hold, similarly A H I am happy enough for you to express your views on Player of 80% of the Season .
It's merely a matter of opinion when we should decide!

I agree with the general spread of nominations in the thread. If it was a first 11 teamOTY (442) the only places up for debate would be the front two with rooney getting the nod for a place for his goals, plenty of appearances for that tally dulelly noted.
but we know that already :)
brown - no question
deynayor- that composure is a rarity for a cb at that age.
mathews - in a "bigger" league that goal would of been part of many a clip montage if sky gave a .

I remember Matthews saying after that goal that he only shot on Browns instruction. Quality strike albeit, but going back to Brown and how important he is; Not that you might not have already, but the next game you're at keep one eye on Broonie and apart from the energy, fight, awareness and overall skill he brings, just look out at how much of a leader the bhoy is. Always pointing here and there and giving instructions. True midfield general.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You don't need to tell me, Jimbo, you're preaching to the choir here. I've been singing Brown's praises for years, he's a legend in the making for me and is rapidly becoming one of my favourite ever CFC players. I'd love to see him captaining us to a treble.}

27 Mar 2015 03:56:21
He already is one of mine. Certainly in my own Celtic XI. I may be a spring chicken in relative terms (not to you specifically) but for me, the guy is up there with Henke as a once in a generation player. I've said it before but it would cost £20m to replace Brown. Therefore I doubt he'll be replaced any time soon - not that he's going anywhere any time soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2015 06:08:34
Couldnt agree more jim. that's why he's my POTY just ahead of Johannson. There isn't much in it performance wise I don't think but Broonie gets it for his leadership that isn't always seen. He is problably a big reason Johannson has played so well. Always pushing and cajoling the best out of players. Biton also says this and look how well he is now playing. Markie

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2015 11:05:06
I would also go for Brown as the POTY, mainly cause of how important he is as a leader and how he controls the midfield. That been said, wouldn't cry if Johansen got it either. Alowed to be a bit nationalistic, right? :)

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2015 15:19:24
Exactly markie. I think he gets the better out of players around him. Not just by captaining them but setting an example.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Mar 2015 18:48:30
You are not going to get any argument from me .
As a player he is the best in the SPL .
As a captain, he is inspirational, always working on the field, helping and assisting his teammates.
The other. Great aspect to Scot Brown is his long service, something like 8 years so far and probably another 3/4, such a difference to some of the others who are looking for directions to England as soon as they get here .

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2015 00:57:30
POTY GORDON (OR BROWN )
YPOTY DENAYER ( OR HENDERSON )
GOTY (THAT ONE SCORED IN MILAN, BY THAT INTER GUY) OR MATHEWS AGAINST HAMILTON
IOTY(S) (IDIOTS OF THE YEAR) THE ONES LETTING OF THE FLARES (OR THE PANTY WETTERS DEFENDING THEM )

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Hahahaha!! I think you're a tad confused about who the panty wetters in the support are.}

28 Mar 2015 01:38:22
we will have to disagree on that, to me the ones letting of flares are a bit childish, their pants probably get wett oohing and ahhing at the big shiney sparkly things, and the ones defending them, they're so frustrated they;re not doing it they just get too EXCITED.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Oh that's just ssssoooo cute (inlove) Did the Bhoys with the big bad bang bangs upset you toodles? Are you asthmatic as well by any chance?
BTW, the Panty Wetters said you can't 'Ooh' and 'Ahh', the bit after that upsets the media and the Zombies, and we all know panty wetters don't like to upset either in case they say or write anything naughty waughty about us.
Who are these people actually trying to impress?}

26 Mar 2015 08:29:41
Has anyone else read the RST statement regarding John Guidetti? I would like to know why the term 'hun' is deemed sectarian, but more so why the supporters of that club are so offended by it when they've been singing up to their knees in fenian blood for decades.

The world has gone mad!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

26 Mar 2015 15:06:05
I don't get it at all HT. Our fans view Nacho Novo as one and he's a catholic but don't refer to Jock Stein as one who was a protestant. It's a Rangers association term, not sectarian. Also, the word fenian isn't really sectarian either tbh. You can be a protestant/jewish/muslim fenian technically. It's all gone a bit mad.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Mar 2015 15:48:45
Hey Ed I take it we can't use that word on here either? Thought you were all for the use of the word?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Isn't the word there in the OP?}

26 Mar 2015 16:18:17
Had it substituted for 'blue' in an earlier post.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Must have been Ed001 that done it. There's no problem with the word Hun but we won't be using it all time simply because it's one of the rules of the site that people can't call people names like a Hun or Fenian, there's a lot of words that are blocked by the filter or will be changed, 'scum' is an example, that's blocked because it just turns discussions and debate into childish slagging matches and name calling.}

26 Mar 2015 17:17:07
Fair point Ed. Rules are rules and I'll abide. For the record it was purely referring to a Rangers man. I am not one to persecute people for their faith, especially not a christian church, sect, denomination or schism. It's un-christian. The people who spout the sectarian BS are not Christian. That's the thing I find so infuriating about the bigots - these 'matchday' proddies and fenians. Anyway no need for a can of worms on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - So how can a Catholic be classed as a Hun? It has nothing to do with religion and it's not sectarian, Guidetti hasn't been charged with any sectarian offence by the SFA.
Remember this isn't the first time followers of Scotland's newest club have tried this, they tried it when they were Rangers supporters and they must think that seeing it's a new club UEFA or the authorities might buy their BS as they try to deflect from their own openness to sectarianism and celebration of all racism and bigotry. They're trying to engage in a game of whataboutery to deflect attention from their own failings as well-adjusted normal human beings.

UEFA have previously stated that it's not sectarian,

Dear Sir,

You have contacted the UEFA disciplinary services to complain about a song called “Huns away from Europe” that appears to have been chanted by Celtic supporters during the UEFA Champions League fixture between Celtic FC and Aalborg on 17 September. With all respect to your personal feelings and impression, the terms you object to do not appear to be connected with racial abuse or discrimination. Factually, the term “hun” has a historical background, notably in Europe. We understand that the chant "huns out of Europe" might have been referring to the fact that their arch rivals, Rangers, did not qualify for the UEFA Champions League! Celtic fans seem to refer to Rangers as the hun (the enemy).

Should you still consider the text to have a sectarian background, we recommend that you address the matter to the competent authorities in Scotland.

Yours faithfully

UEFA Disciplinary Services

I have no idea if Paton is a Catholic or a Protestant or neither. It genuinely does not cross my mind. I know that he's a bawbag and was part of an online 'group' named something along the lines of 'I'd rather fiddle taxes than kids' - with NL as the groups main picture.

That letters a belter bit of evidence. It's there in green and white! Where's it from/is it real?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The letter's been around for years and came from Rangers fans who were upset that they weren't in Europe so had to try and find something to moan about. They must not have passed it on to the new club when the racist Charles Green started them up or they wouldn't waste their time.
Note as well that this has all been drummed up by the mentally ill and unstable state-aid plonker - it never bothered Rangers or Sevco fans before. Ask them why one of their sash-bash songs is called 'The Pope's a Hun.'}

26 Mar 2015 18:17:01
Has the fact that Guidetti said they were dead, not deemed to be offensive .
I thought ex - compliance officer Lunney said that, saying anything that could be deemed to be laughing at them was offensive .

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Mar 2015 18:50:55
They're grieving chris. Very sensitive at the moment and should be treated with great care. Then they can champion paedophilia and the killing of a particular social group as much as they like in numbers and loudly because uncle SFA doesn't want to upset them at this difficult time.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Mar 2015 21:27:42
Jim Jim The problem is the insintric link between the SFA and the Rangers .
In Ireland we would say they are both from the one sow's litter .
I am worried they may not like that .
