Don't know if there would be enough demand for WC chat live during games? I don't want to rob you of your time off/ End of season time. Big games mibi. There hasn't been any need for most. Tonight was mental. I had it on two screens in a mates garden. Wanted Nigeria to make it.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - Do you want to sit and read a load of England fans hijacking every chat?}

27 Jun 2018 11:00:24
It was great to see Argentina going through, Lineker was nearly spewing lol.

ED do you know if the 3 trialists went to austria? i've seen a video on celtic youtube and i can't figure out 1 player.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I think the 3 of them went but they're not training with the first team squad.}

26 Jun 2018 19:56:39
So Ed what's your thought on the soon to be out of contract Hull RB on trial. Supposedly was good for Hull and rejected a new deal but been out for 2 seasons with a knee injury. For me it's a massive risk and reminds me of DB from Ajax and he must have played a handful of games under Lennon then disappeared with injury.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - He's obviously being considered as back-up to Lustig as I expect Gamboa to move on after the World Cup.}

26 Jun 2018 20:01:07
IslandCelt, i think our net spend is around 2-3mil so far but don't quote me lol. Reckon there'll be a few more £ spent.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jun 2018 22:34:11
Cheers Brendan
Without plyet sales or CL monies I would expect Celtic to spend more than 2-3 mill therefore let the good times role.

Cheers ED. Very shrewd business by PL and well done to all involved. Great.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Armstrong? Yes great business considering his contract situation, I would have been happy with anything between £3.5 - 5 million because of that and how keen he was to leave.}

26 Jun 2018 19:50:54
Completely agree
I am a big fan of Armstrong but his one good season won’t remember him as a great, and if he wanted to leave maximum value to the club.

Does this mean (considering the clear out) our net spend is next to nothing?

If this is correct I expect at least two quality signings - at least one quality defender and Mcginn and if Paddy roberts signed permanently I would be ecstatic

Can’t see a goalkeeper being signed this window, therefore a stable defence must be a priority with a view to a new keeper next year - Bain Gordon and another all challengers for the No.1

Apart from McGinn are there any realistic rumours?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Sorry mate I'm not hearing anything just now.}

26 Jun 2018 20:04:32
Enjoyed his contribution in the Invincible season, but apart from that he was either mostly average or injured - although the move to Celtic gave him International recognition and helped the valuation.
The improvement of Callum McGregor last season - who was a stand-out along with Ntcham and Broony, means that we are selling a player who we did without for a long time and can replace with better.

26 Jun 2018 22:35:31
Cheers ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No probs.}

26 Jun 2018 22:36:09
Disappointed Armstrong is leaving. Thought he might be a future Celtic captain. Good luck to him.

Sadio Mane

26 Jun 2018 18:44:09
ED mate you any idea how much we got for SA? also good luck to the guy, but the grass isn't always greener in the EPL.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - £7 million and could go up to £8 million.}

26 Jun 2018 19:12:18
That’s not bad business for a player whose heart was never at Celtic Park and while a good player had a long way to go to prove himself in terms of consistency and in no way will be remembered as a Celtic great. Thanks and best wishes on my part although I could never take to the guy but no hard feelings and he might live to regret it. ☘️.

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Jun 2018 22:13:34
He will only live to regret it if he does not get game time. Most SPL players would want to play in Premier league and he may be on £40k a week which is double his Celtic money so he will be happy enough. what it does tell us is that players like mcgregor, N'tcham, Rogic, are all worth serious money. Think clubs looking to get Tierney for £10mill can jog on. Now getting right money for our players.

26 Jun 2018 23:30:37
Jfp i've nobody to call posh bhoy on the live chat now lol.

26 Jun 2018 18:11:59
Ed, with Armstrong now confirmed as sold does this mean that we'll make a quick move for McGinn? HH.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea how quick things will happen.}

26 Jun 2018 14:43:27
Been here before Ed and I'll be here again. So with the rumour of a supposed offer from Man City of Roberts for 6mil what are your thoughts on that rumour? I always thought they wanted upwards of 12million with his comments at the end of last season it just seems a silly rumour.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I think Paddy might be a little surprised and disappointed at the level of teams showing interest in him.We know he very confident in his own ability and probably doesn't fancy a Pub League relegation fight or even worse playing in the Championship.}

26 Jun 2018 18:56:13
I'll take any glimmer of hope that he'll return mate!

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It could run and run mate and remember the English window closes on the 9th of August whereas ours doesn't close until the 31st so we won't be waiting until the last minute.}

26 Jun 2018 19:54:45
Can you not buy players from England when their window shuts? Always assumed as long as the buyers window was still open it was fair game.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yes we can still buy players from England, I meant if an English team wants him he'll be signed up by the 9th, if not we must be in with a bit of a chance imo.}

26 Jun 2018 20:28:04
Paddy’s injury problems could be traced back to lack of a pre season here’s hoping it’s sorted early while I don’t think he will be back as I think his hearts set on EPL I would be delighted if he came but only permanently.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2018 22:27:35
Didn't even clock that mate! Aye you'd think if it got to that stage that he'd be more likely to pick us if the finances were made available than abroad or the city bench. Long way to go though.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Last summer he was adamant that he wanted to stay at City - that's what I mean about him being so confident in his own ability - and fight for his place or come back to Celtic on loan, it was Roberts himself that wasn't interested in joining us permanently simple because he wanted to prove himself at City even though City had already made it clear he had no future there.
Fingers crossed that he's realised at his age being up here, winning trophies and playing in Europe is his best bet for a couple more years instead of ending up playing in Pub League strugglers or the Championship. I would guess that Leicester was an acceptable level, mid Pub League level and pushing the Euro spots and I think they're financially sound.
If I was Paddy I'd be looking for stability as well, he could go to a Pub League team and they lose a couple of matches and the manager's sacked, who's to say the next manager would fancy him as a player in a league that prioritises athtleticism over footballing talent. He could end up a bit of a nomadic journeyman in a couple of years if he doesn't choose his next move carefully.}

26 Jun 2018 23:40:07
Would like to think the pull of medals, playing your style of football and fans who won't throw your name away after a bad performance is stronger than money and not flourishing in your usual role.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We can only hope....

26 Jun 2018 15:50:14
How about Jens Stryger Larsen as a right/ left back.

Alright lads, over on the video games page Ed007 and myself have came up with the idea of creating a fifa premier league for the site on both PlayStation and Xbox. If anyone is keen for this let us know, either platform.
We are looking 20 players for each to do a 38 game season, one game a week and we will look after the points, goals etc. If anyone fancies it let us know!
Could be a chance to have a bit of craic over the headsets as well.
Cheers Caolán.

{Ed007's Note - If anyone's interested in getting involved in this pop over to the video games site HERE and I'll take a note of your name and console and we'll go from there.}

26 Jun 2018 15:58:58
All right Ed, sorry to be a pain but had to reregister again, how do I get my details for the FIFA games to you. Tried but keeps asking for log in details. Cheers bud 👍🏻.

{Ed007's Note - Just drop me a post on the video games page with your console and I'll add you to the list, Craig:

As the hype builds about Boyata it's time to ask ourselves a big question. It's very likely paper talk but Boyata is 'Holding all the cards' with regards to his future. Do we cash in on him now and get a decent transfer figure for him or do we push out the boat with regards to a new contract?
I'm very undecided on this. Yes he has had howlers and especially in the big games but all in all, he's a solid Internaionalist who is currently first choice, no matter why, for a very good Belgium side.
Again though, all this hype could go to the boys head. If Lazio are offering him 50k a week, we can't compete with that and that's a fact.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

26 Jun 2018 14:00:18
If he wants to leave then quite simply this could be the best time to cash in. I'd like him to stay though.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jun 2018 15:49:26
I can say with all honesty that I wouldn’t bat an eyelid if I never seen boyata in a celtic top again! The guy is a bomb scare plain and simple! And nobody will convince me otherwise! Where this hype comes from for this guy I’ll be there know! I’ve read all the boyata holds all the cards and Celtic are struggling to hold on to him pish! Are these people for real! Let him go and let’s finally get a centre half who can actually defend under pressure!

Agree3 Disagree1

26 Jun 2018 17:46:29
I'd like him to stay but regardless of whether he does I think now is the time to add a really good centre half to help us push on in Europe.

We should resign Ki from Swansea.
