Can't believe people are on here lambasting the big man maybe wasn't great every single game but in most big games he was superb you can come on here and say what you like it's all about opinions and mine is the samy was a great player and servant to celtic if he comes back excellent if not wish him all the luck in the world .

The wee games are just as important! Truth is he was not consistent and there is absolutely no argument why he should of got a game before another player who was playing well

Agree0 Disagree0

My opinion on samaras is he has huge talent but doesn't always use it and is a bit lazy but I also think he can be amazing if you look at strachan's last season with us he had samaras playing amazing stuff am sure he scored like 14 goals in the first 10 games and was linking up well with wee shaun maloney then got injured if he came back I wouldn't be disappointed and maybe ronny can get the best from him

1-0 ft hopefully playing a seasoned team will give invaluable experience as the st paulis did a lot of professional fouls and spoiling tactics, we never flowed but they never hid trying to play even though a bit of an of day for some, pluses watt first 90 mins this season and it showed at times, the two cbs stuck to their task, mgeoch and herron two best celts, feel sorry for twardzik isn't a lb, the bile and negativity of some on celtic tv forum is frightening you would think this was the final cl decider and not a friendly played with the majority of the youth team

Well guys after that game, albeit with all young players I can say that I was not remotely impressed with what I had seen.

Watt, McGeouch & Henderson are all good players. Looked ok today bearing in mind the poor players we had out there.

Balde - I will go easy on bearing in mind his recent loss.

Atajic & Twardzik should be released - these guys wouldn't get a game for my local team.

The rest need a vast improvement in my eye's. Seen recent posts about O'Connell looking good, maybe its down the fellow defenders with him but today was not great.

I hope RD sorts out our Academy, there should be at least 2 to 3 players each year coming though the ranks that are potential first team players.

Yeah I agree big time, the most worrying thing for me, and I have been saying this for years, is all the youth players we bring through are pretty much at the same level, they are all ok.

Southampton for eg - they are bringing through kids that every year are going for £20 million, - this season they have sold Shaw/Lallana/Chambers - £70 million for 3 youth products, they obviously brought through Bale/Walcott etc recently. I don't think 1 of our players on show today will go on and be a star. Some might end up out the game/some might find their level in the lower leagues, but there is something far wrong.

I said previously that I like Henderson/O'Connell if he fills out and works on his pace, but if neither make it I wouldn't be that surprised. Lawwell/ Lennon have a lot to answer for, what have they done to address this over the last few years. Look at all our youth coaches on Celtic website - most of these guys I haven't heard of, then you have guys like George McCluskey God love him as a fitness coach for the youth. We brought in McCart a good few years ago to revolutionize the youth, I simply don't see it.

I mentioned recently that Arsenal appointed Andreas Jonker who has run academies at Barca/Bayern etc, we need someone like that, Lawwell isn't bloody spending our money on anything else.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought we had progress with our youths in the last year or two. Surely are youths are coming through better this season and last, so much, as its the in thing to blame Lennon, I think the problems have been there for years
Lawwell maybe but more likely D D the real man .

Agree0 Disagree0

@Paul1 spot on mate agree

Agree0 Disagree0

I am a janny in primary school and seen some of the best players in years have stinkers of games .i think we should lay off the young bhoys a bit, then judge them in 6-9 months time, when Ronny has worked his magic.

It's only ma opinion!

Agree0 Disagree0

A team of youngsters who have never once played together as a team getting slaughtered for losing a friendly, hang your heads in shame, best supporters on the world aye when it suits.killy.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Killy

No one is getting slaughtered for one game.

Twardzik has had a few years at the club and has gone backwards. Atajic in my opinion - every time I have seen him play he looks lost. Remember he was even guff at Shrewsbury.

These 2 have no future at Celtic and if they are lucky they may well just make it in the 3rd tier of another country.

As for the rest of that team, 3 or 4 will feature during the year and the rest will not be seen.

From our youth, Watt, Henderson, McGeouch and maybe even McMullen who done well might just have a future.

was even until goal, twardzik isn't a lb, two young cb just about holding it together, herron not a rb but showing well like to see him in his natural mid position, biton, Henderson off day so far, mgeoch best celt playing well, watt out wide left couple of runs to nowhere not in it, r balde had half chance ealy on andthen looked as though he went home, atajic similar,, nobody today will start midweek

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think the reason that particular 13 was used today, was precisely because they weren't starting on Sunday .

1-0 to at Pauli - some nice individual pieces os skill but simple passes have been awe full and a lot of long balls hoping for a better 2nd half! Watt has been lively as well as bit on but final ball from bit on has been shameful.

Afternoon Ed, here is one for the future horizon what do we all think of this? Sky UK have bought controlling interests in Sky Germany & Italy and was watching this last night with REAL interest! ssn have already launched ssn 5 the home of European football! Then they went into how next year will be the biggest fight sky will ever have for EPL tv rights, given they have already lost CL rights season after this

Give sky there due they are always ahead of the curve and nobody likes to monopolise more than Murdoch a think there a move on here mate now it may even be a bit of skull doggery on Murdoch's part ie "if we lose these rights we will set our own path to a European league!"

But why else create / purchase what you already have access too?

Please bear in mind folks the biggest EVER PPV event that sky had/stood for years was the oldfirm game that Andy Thom scored the screamer! Am saying Murdoch gets what Murdoch wants a European league has always been the biggest threat to the EPL/UEFA/FIFA! That is why we got the CL in the first instance to curb the appetite for it .

It is a long shot, It is only emerged, but this might just MIGHT, be a ticket to equality in terms of fiscal income am confident we would be invited! ATVB JB7
