With Tierney a major doubt for Saturday who would you lot rather see at left back.
Hayes or Izzy?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2018 23:58:33
I would go with hayes, he's better on the ball aswell. I know rodgers said it was highly unlikely kt won't make it but hope he's wrong. Rogic and kt are 2 massive losses but they are rotten!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 02:02:00
JOHNNY HAYES WITHOUT A DOUBT IZAGUIRRE AGAINST THE FORCES OF DARKNESS Would be a mistake and no lm not being harsh but if he is playing I hope I'm very wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 08:50:58
Love Izzy, although when he makes a mistake it usually costs us.
I thought he was unlucky yesterday as his momentum caused the problem well after the ball was played; however it gave Collum the decision to make and Bhoy, how quickly and excitedly they take the chance.
Hayes is relatively untested at LB, but Pittodrie was as stern a test as Ibrox and although it is Izzy's natural position, BR seemed to be disappointed in him and I think he will not be in the immediate plans and expect KT to be back with Hayes as deputy.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 09:08:37
A don’t think KT will make it so Hayes would be the safer bet he has pace and tenacity and loves a tackle. He’s also our best crosser from corners.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 09:37:59
On yesterday's evidence it has to be Hayes for me, Izzy probably better for a home game I reckon.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 09:46:45
Why did Izzy get caught up the park that's the problem for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 10:19:39
Once a bhoy Izzy wasn't unlucky. His momentum took him in to mcginn because he dived in when the ball was already away and he had no chance of playing it.
It was an idiotic challenge to make.
Now as the ed will tell you I was pretty positive about Izzy being a back up squad player but after yesterday and how much more solid Hayes looks I'd also go with him for ibrox.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 10:21:38
I think if KT doesn't make it, Brendan may opt for 3 at the back. Broonie will sit in front of them. He then has McGregor, Christie, Forrest, Sinclair. Maybe Eddy up front with Mikey Johnston. Take Sevco apart!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 11:06:07
No way he's going with a 3 after the last few disasters playing it.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 12:10:57
I agree forget the 3 at the back 👎.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 12:28:19
I wouldn't play 3 at the back no chance. Hayes played well yesterday so I'd go with him at ibrox.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 14:29:09
Just my opinion. I genuinely believe Sevco have a weak midfield and defence. Even their own fans would admit without McGregor and Morelos they'd be bottom 6. They also seem to think targeting Broonie and Callum is their only way to win. They won't finish with 11. They play one up. I'm convinced we will destroy them with 3. Plus it's only my opinion in the event KT doesn't play. I think he will start.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 18:59:34
No chance 3 at the back. The few times it has been done has ended up a disaster like hibs recently. Don't think BR would be talking up hayes if he had 3 at the back in his head.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 21:21:59
Izzy.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 21:22:26
Would be Hayes for me kev! More energy and as much as I think he just lacks that bit of quality for us, there’s no doubt the boy gives a good shift and never stops running! Izzy is done and was done 2 years ago!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 21:23:48
Graham murtys on his way.
After celtic dish out the usual pumping on Saturday. gerrard will be on a very shaky peg 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 21:24:59
Can't believe I'm writing these words but it's got to be Hayes. Going to be a challenge to who ever Brendan picks.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 21:17:56
Here's one for any statto out there. Since signing for Celtic how many penalties has Craig Gordon faced and saved. I can only remember 1 being saved against Hapoel Beer Shava in a CL qualifier. He may have saved another in the shoot out against Sevco a few years back. He's certainly face plenty that's for sure. Anytime a team is awarded a pen it's a cert they will score. Anybody with the correct info would be much appreciated.

Just falls to a side and no where near.

26 Dec 2018 23:25:41
In 2014 hearts player Sow hit a penalty over the bar with Gordon in goals.
Craig saved the one you mentioned in europe.
I think that's it in a celtic jersey.
Someone mentioned tonight he saved 2 penalties in england and then those Celtic penalties and that's it in his whole career. Which would also mean he never saved any for hearts in game time but he did win a penalty shoot out with them v gretna.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 23:37:54
If he even stood still he would save a few, he is too busy pointing and faffing about.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 23:40:00
Transfermarket have Craig Gordon only saving 3 penalties in his career which is not accurate because the beer sheva penalty was not included in the list.
What i did notice was those 3 penalties were all off target.
Which could mean the only penalty craig has actually saved is the one that took us to the champios league. Surely not.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 00:04:57
Transfermarket stats for penalty saves.
Craig Gordon 3 saves out of 44
Boruc. 15 saves out of 56
Forster. 11 saves out of 30.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 00:42:44
Here’s another interesting stat. He’s let in fewer goals than any other goalkeeper in the Scottish premiership this season. Oh and he let in fewer goals than any other goalkeeper in the Scottish premiership last season. Oh, would you believe it, he let in fewer goals than any other goalkeeper in the premiership two seasons ago. Who’d have thought it, eh?

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 07:01:41
To be honest I’m more concerned with his distribution at times rather than penalty saves. Gordon’s not the worst keeper we’ve ever had and Rodgers obviously rates him or he’d be replaced but his passing out from the back during normal play leaves a lot to be desired. Most end up out the pitch or even the passes he does get away with, they only just manage to pass the oncoming opposition player. I get that’s obviously the way Brendan’s asking him to play but my god the hearts in the mouth most weeks watching him do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 08:19:21
I am a big fan of Craig Gordon. He might have a poor record for saving penalties, but so what, he is still a fantastic goalkeeper.
For me he is the 2nd best keeper we have had in the last 40 years, number 1 being Fraser Forster. Celtic supporters have always gave keepers a hard time, Forster included, even though he was also a great goalkeeper.
The one exception was Boruc, who at times was good but he turned out to be a calamity, he gave me the fear. I always felt he could do anything and not get criticised, even though he was overweight and took advantage of our great support.
Bonner could also be good but I would still rather have our present no.1 Craig Gordon.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 09:14:12
Got to agree Leon, I’m a big fan as well. I get Garry’s point about his distribution but he’s a great shot stopper and the fact that Chelsea wanted to sign him not too long ago speaks volumes about his ability in my opinion. The fact that he decided to stay at Celtic is even more significant for me. I’m happy for us to let the Dembeles and Armstrong’s of this world leave but we need to hold onto the men that understand what it means to play for Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 09:15:01
I agree Leon about Boruc taking advantage of our support and pretty much said that after he had left with his lack of training and being overweight however Gordon is not a great keeper he’s weak wrists always palms balls into danger areas decision making is atrocious he takes too long to decide on a simple pass bringing the team under pressure then the stupid floated passes that are asking for trouble not to mention he can’t command his area a might have been a bit over critical but it’s my blood pressure that goes through the roof anytime the balls near him! Yes he can have good reactions at times but it’s not enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 09:50:35
Gordon gives me the fear i don't mind the passing from the back but it has to be on if not hoof it but he'd rather give away a goal before he hoofs it very strange.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 10:28:27
He let in the least goal each season because we dominate the ball for 90% of the time we play in Scotland.
Gordon second best keeper we've had in 40 years 😂😂😂😂
I can even remember him winning us a game like forster against Barcelona boruc against man Utd Marshall against Barca. He couldn't lace big packies boot.
He is a good shot stopper at times but that's it.
He can't come for a cross
He doesn't command his box
He causes panic (like yesterday) by thinking he's Messi
His distribution is worse than my 6 year old daughter
You can see a mile away how much calmer the defence is when Bain has the ball at his feet.
If we want to take the next step the Gordon needs replaced.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 12:59:13
Don't think Gorden is perfect but I think it's harsh to say he has never won us a game with his shot stopping ability ass I can certainly say he has kept us in games with some fantastic stops which for me translates into contributing to us winning the game. I dn't think its fair to compare him to other goalkeepers either as without wanting to criticise our present defence I don't think it compares even to what Forster had in fron of himm.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 16:59:25
It’s funny that for months I was reading a constant string of posts criticising our defence despite the fact we lost fewer goals than everybody else. Now it’s the goalie getting it and he only concedes less goals than the rest because of what’s in front of him. You couldnae make it up.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 21:15:27
Sinclair's finished and Edouard was a waste of money. Roger's signings have been woeful. oh wait a minute, they're both superb, that Brendan Rogers is a genius.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2018 21:58:43
Couldn’t believe Rogic didn’t get taken off and CalMac got subbed but not sure if it was because Lewis Ferguson seemed to be man marking him the subs made the big difference let’s hope KT is fit for Saturday but I fear not.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 21:59:47
Shocking line up and substitutes COYBIG
Playing Sinclair and bring eddy on.
Total joke.
I for one will be sending a strongly worded email to both Rogers and lawwel over these selections.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 22:24:31
Campsie I wasn't happy about rogic staying on with McGregor going off but at end of the day Rogers was right and I was wrong. Eddy has a major say in all 3 goals.
Manager changed the game and won the points.

Rogic and McGregor were awful yesterday but we got there and the manager proved his worth again HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 11:14:32
CalMac was pretty much man marked for the length of time he was on park however when he did get free his clever run set up the goal Christie’s ball was excellent but CalMac is a worker Rogic has been playing the last wee while as if he has diving boots on. Can only think BR was trying to throw a bit of confusion in with taking CalMac off with Ferguson man marking him.

Just want to say well done to the team, we have had a tough start to the year undoubtedly with the transfer window, going out of the champs league and some poor form. But out of all of that, we have qualified from our euro group, won another cup and sit proudly at the top. Potentially 6 points clear with a game in hand come Saturday . Away fixtures every time we have had a midweek euro game, but every time a challenge is put before this team and the management we seem to raise our standard and no one domestically can live with us. Once we get a well earned rest after Saturday, some new players to help with the schedule our dominance will continue. It’s great to be a Tim at the minute.

I have been critical of sinclair this season even though he is right footed playing on the left. The way he drifted in and out from the touchline is similar to the movements from Forrest. It must be something he has worked on in training. Im delighted for him today.
Thats why we are champions and roll on saturday.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2018 22:39:36
His goal ratio is great his work rate and teamwork is great . he is frustrating at times when he stays out wide and struggles to get by his first man or deliver a cross but the boy never hides and always tries to get involved . I thought like most people his form had dipped and he wasn't producing the same as fist season . but then noticed / realised his effort for the team outside his goal. does the wide left role stifle him?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 17:54:12
A great result from what I believe will be the trickier of the 2 encounters . didn't Hayes play well in the LB position when he came on . Hairy enough at times . Sinclair shaping up this last 3 or 4 games and Eddies game when he came on, glimpses of the Eddie we want .
Plenty of positives going into the next game .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2018 17:51:11
The only reason Rangers are any where near us is that we have failed to find consistency this season. Every time we have had the chance to extend our lead after a big result we have failed to do so.

That being said I do expect us to start opening up a gap, starting Saturday.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 20:44:18
Let's also not forget that the International breaks have interrupted us when we started a flow.
We are 3 points ahead and should stop sevco.

Aberdeen kept their shape and fought hard until they ran out of steam. We were devastating in the last 15 minutes and 4-3 doesn't reflect our dominance.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Don't think first was a pen . ball was played from mginn and it was momentum theat took Izzy into him rather than a bad tackle.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 dec 2018 22:47:54
Still think it's harsh . Izzy dives in to block which he didn't need to I agree but no tackle or contact his momentum catches a falling mginn and trailing leg brings him on top of him . see why refs or linesman i believe has given it though . as in real time all he's seeing is the trailing leg and mginn falling on him . anyway thankfully it didn't affect result. anyway onwards to Saturday and wrapping up the league . I'll pour you vodka kev and drink it for you, cheers .

This is awful. It's like we have two sides. The home team who can be at times devastating playing with a real high tempo and quality and our away team who are look clueless, play with zero tempo and are happy to pass the ball along our back 4 20 yards from our own goal inviting Aberdeen onto us. I hope to god we Buck up our ideas for the second half.

How is Jonny Hayes ahead of Johnston?
Surely you didn’t want Mikey to come on and play left back?

Thought swapping Hayes for Izzy was a excellent substitution. Would you have honestly put young Micky Johnston in at left back. Thought Brendans substitutes won us that game.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 16:50:54
Well am glad Rodgers is the manager and not oldkilly.
Aberdeen would have been over the moon if we played micky Johnstone at left back.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 17:27:39
I never suggested Mikey Johnston be on at left back, we had a defender in Anthony Ralston on the bench, yes I know he is a right back but I would rather have a defender replaced with a defender. Over the past few months Johnny Hayes has been on everyone’s list of getting the bullet for not being good enough, had he made a mistake today which led to a goal he and the manager would have got dogs abuse. oldkilly.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 18:17:08
Merry Xmas all. Oldkilly c'mon your basing your argument on a what if instead of just giving praise. He didn't do anything to give away a goal, Ajer did and he IS a defender. Beginning to hate sheep as much as the orcs, especially that moany faced McInnis.

26 Dec 2018 10:54:01
There's got to be someone coming in 'permanently' as well. and since when did Celtic not fancy a winger?

The only thing that pisses me off here is the mooted 6 month term which is a bit pointless from our point of view. Is this to win the league? Just don't see the angle.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 10:55:03
Mikey can play both wings, up front and attacking mid so I agree develop him rather other clubs player . I think Morgan can become a player for us . just needs a run . coming through youths we have good players ie Johnstone and Ralston ready to step in and bhoys mcinroy . Henderson not far away. getting youngsters from other clubs is all well and good . but if we don't give our own a chance we won't see what they can do.
