Would be a gamble but then playing any one of our defenders right now (bar IMO Mark Wilson and Rogne who Lennon seems to be reluctant to play) is a gamble. Not sure we're in that bad a crisis that we'd need to play youngsters but playing a youngster or two might bring a bit of hunger and desire to the team in the absence of Brown to drive the team on. James Forrest has been fantastic this season - his workrate for the most part has been excellent, and Matthews looks a good player and works hard albeit I'm not sure he should be playing over Wilson. I'd expect the same from other young players looking to cement a place and/or give Lennon another option or two.

Yeh i ment just play a few, or at least bring them on as sub!If stokes and hoops( who is struggling ) get injured we have no strikers....

The defenders cant do any worse that what weve seen so far this season!! And you might find another star!

Put a post up on the rangers page there, just watched the BBC thing there for the 1st time. See if Craig white has had all these companies & failed ? Why has the ones he's built up & worked out good not jumping out at the press & backing him up ?

Or you could say why aren't the press talking about all the successful companies he's linked with? Cos there's no story in it.

does anyone else out there think Lennon isnt the man for us, or we still saying "we are all Neil Lennon"

i ask as thats been the convo in work today, the majority saying he isnt??

thanks.

Sadly I have to say he is not ... As much as we all wanted - and hoped he was, it has become very obvious that we are in another mess and do not have a team capable of a winning streak of any significance to improve our situation.
There are many factors wrong with the team (all of them obvious to regular 'posters' on here) but lost on the management team apparently.
Injuries have been a factor, but the squad he has assembled is not up to it..
My frustration is not all down to NL, but for a 4th season in a row we are looking at the possibility of a near bankrupt club in financial crisis taking the top prize?
Rangers may lose points or whatever ??
But my first priority is what Celtic do - and to be frank we have came up short for too long - and as long as our finances are respectable. to Hell with success!
If we wait and see until January I think it will be even worse and we will also have the prospect of replacing the 'deserters' with more dross nobody else wants...

I think only ed007 , dd and peter ,dont realize its time to move on before the league is out of sight, imagine they get docked 10 points and still won it. the ? is who can we bring in.fab1

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember being at a fans meeting a year and a half ago in Celtic park.It was attended by NL and Peter Lawell when we were looking for a new manager.Mr Lawell at the end of it assured fans who weren't exactly clambering for NL (except for one person who at the agm moaned about the club going backwards) that the next manager would be "worth the wait". I didn't want another rookie manager but hav 2 say he ok last season.I still disagree wiv his team selections and tactics but who would we get 2 replace him without spending a rite few quid , I would giv NL till Jan to c wer we r then......DH

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree with Jungle Jim....Sunday for me spoke volumes. Aberdeen got an equaliser and Neil Lennon sat on the bench, legs crossed and arms folded and didn't know what to do! I didn't want him as manager in the 1st place but as a Celtic supporter I wanted him to succeed. Unfortunately he has failed to "bring the thunder back" and I feel that is down to him. Granted, we have injuries but we should have a squad that is more than capable of beating every team in the league. However we are falling way short. We have a Goalkeeper who can't command his area. We have a Centre Half who can't defend and we are playing the best midfielder at the club at Left Back! It beggars belief. As for the rumours about Hooper, he might be able to score a few goals if we used some wingers and got the ball into the box but the manager insists on playing James Forrest in a free role behind the strikers which just doesn't work and refuses to play Kris Commons because he was big enough to stand up to him and Alan Thomson over their unproffesionalism at training (coming in hungover and smelling of booze) I'm sorry to say this but we need an experienced head in there and we need it now. Thanks for being a good servant but it's time to admit defeat and move on Neil. You have failed to wrestle the title from a club on the brink of financial ruin, which in my opinion is a total embarrassment!

Just noticed on the Companies House Website that there are two new companies as from today (25/10/2011) called Glasgow Rangers (Holdings) Ltd and Glasgow Rangers Ltd...

Is the end near?

Nice one Mr Moran . Your tricks will never fool the Rangers support.

I've supported Lenny since he first took over and last season was brilliant compared to previous campaigns but this season feels just as bad as the Mowbray era. The players aren't fighting for the club and simply arent good enough. It's scary how better Rankers are than us now, deny it if you want but they grind out results and play with passion... We dont. Time to offload the useless deadwood we have at the club and Lenny has either got to bring in an experienced assistant or walk. Personally, I want to see Mick McCarthy brought in. He would give the slackers a big kick up the a**e and get the best out of us. Big changes needed at Celtic.

is there autamatic entry for league winners this year,there seems to be a lot of confusion about the champions league, {Ed001's Note - there is no confusion, the league winners and runners up, of the SPL, go into the 3rd Qualifying Round.}

I think we all know that Lenny is 1 or 2 bad results away from the inevitable and I hope if/when that happens he can leave with some dignity and be remembered for the great servant he has been to the club. There are a few top quality managers out of work just now and I would love to see Mark Hughes given the challenge on a long term contract.

Any thoughts?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

I have been thinking of that too and Mark Hughes is a good shout although his wage demands may be a problem?
Ruling out O'Neill and Strachan who will probably not want to return; leaves the 'usual suspects' like O'Leary, R Keane and Curbishly who don't excite me and then there are the EPL strugglers Keane, McCarthy, Martinez and Coyle who may be available soon? But is that a good thing?... Apart from that Riikard and Bilic have been mentioned before (expensive) and then we get sentimental shouts for Lubo and Henke. It's a difficult - but necessary - decision in my opinion.

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

Forget Riijkard he is one of the highest paid managers in the world just now at that Anzhi - Makachkala team (the ones that are paying funny money to eto' is it 320k a week or something ?) the other manager u mention was the former manager of the richest team in the world ...... they wouldnt ever touch and SPL team

Lambert would be perfect but wants to prove himself in the EPL.

It's gonna be a hard one for Celtic if Lenny does indeed go

Agree0 Disagree1

Its so difficult to measure Managers in the English Leagues against SPL ...Everton - Walter Smith ?

Agree1 Disagree1

A don't think it will be to hard to replace. If your a manager sittin on your hands not workin they might fancy the challenge. As for Martin he would be ideal at Leicester just now, new owners & big cheque book ? Would like him back at parkhead but as said b4 he is just a cheque book manager.

Would still pay the Dow tho for whoever comes because if the league goes to govan again then the board will see big drop in season tickets again.

As for money for a new manager? Do you really see that Celtic team staying together by the start of next season? Hopefully whoever we sell if we do then the money gets giving back to the transfer kitty

Sir Walter did wonders at Everton ya fud! He was royaly screwed over by the board there (he must like that kinda pressure!) and forced to sell anyone of value at every turn. Just keeping them in the EPL was a wonder... {Ed007's Note - LMAO That's how he got sacked then?}

Agree1 Disagree3

This link will tell you how good he wasN'T at everton and how much the NEVER loved him.

Agree2 Disagree0

If McCarthy gets the bullet at Wolves would he come to Parkhead?

Agree0 Disagree1

I think he would walk to Celtic Park if asked... But his record is not so hot; although he has a lot of experience he is always in relegation zone in EPL.
On saying that WGS was hit & miss down south and he won us three titles....

Agree1 Disagree0

It cant be that hard to replace Lennon. Anyone with any kind of CV would do a better job. This is Lennons first job and it has come way too soon. I would take someone like Curbishley in a minute. Rather have him than Hughes to be honest.

REF - Sir Walter did wonders at Everton ya fud!

How dare you call me names ! you cannot argue Walter is one of the best Managers to grace the SPL, I was merely pointing out it's difficult to say how a Manager in the English leagues would fair in the SPL. The fact remains..he was sacked by Everton & David Moyes appointed...which I believe he quickly restored the club back to the top half of the EPL. Walter has said himself recently, he wouldn't mind another crack in England. - Chrissy

Deja vu , how uncanny that Ally McCoist will be in the same boat as his mentor was at Everton ... when he has to sell all players of any value come the January transfer window .
