Left a wee post last night showing my team selection. Thought it would have been worth while with Brozek up front. I was under the impression that he was signed for that reason, to mix it up a bit. Stokes and Hooper can play well together but neither suits the lone striker role. Big sammy can play the role but is much more effective out wide. Why not give the new guy a chance to show what he can do ? Personally I think Lenny is at the stage of trying to keep certain players happy, Ki, Stokes and Hooper all seem to play even when they are not at thier best. Not saying they are bad players but a spell out the team should make the hungrier to prove what they can do when they come back in, not just spit the dummy like Stokes and Ki have done in the past ( always seems to be a transfer story when they are out of the team ). The team should always come before the individual. Just a thought. Let me know what you think. Good to see Izzy back, better balance with him and Matthews on the flank. Roll on the party in paradise next week ! Hail, Hail.

Best team won today, fair's fair. A few points though. 1st red card was certainly questionable. Think it was a goal scoring opportunity but Wallace went down like he been shot. Second red, i've not got any complaints. Big man took the ball but two footed challenge so no issues. Starting to lose a bit of respect for NL. Past Celtic managers have represented the club with dignity and respect, but he continually frustrates me with his actions and petulant behaviour. Stein or McNeil would never have acted in this way regardless of what happened.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

At last some sense, every game not won and NL rants at officialdom, we could finish up with no referee willing to do our games.

Well your lot would know all about that Mrs E, Champagne's been on ice for a wee while now, don't think the same champagne from last week will last till next week,or the week after tho! Best chuck it in the bin with all the jelly and you know what. lol. Stevie-A-Bear

'Your lot' ? What kind of grown-up statement is that.

I believe we got the champagne from another team about Oct/Nov time when they realised they wouldn't be needing it for quite a while. Mrs E

I think that what is being missed is that Victor and Cha were shown straight, yes straight, red cards. Did he book anyone throughout the game? Provan said, "the referee has done well to keep his cards in his pocket!" what!?! We just had two straight reds shown!!!

Murray had his hand straight in the air for both our sendings off, the bocanegra one was as if he didn't want to even do it! Whittaker had his arms all round Ledley in the box, much worse than cha's, and nothing!

I think Murray was told to make sure there was no title party cause some of his decisions were ridiculous!

Saying that, we didnt deserve it and I think Lennon owes the fans an apology!

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Yes we did notice how demonstrative the red cards were brandished and how it took an age to show Bocanegra his red. We also saw many challenges and shirt pulling allowed to 'pass' and Stokes given ridiculously wrong offside at least once.
We also saw AGAIN how our opponents need no motivation at all to raise their game and fight for their manager etc.
We were going to win a treble and now we are having trouble winning at aw!

25 Mar 2012 21:14:49
rankers fans come on here and say we blame the ref for everything and cant just take the lose.well it seems to me that everyone forgets about how Stokes could have been 1 on 1 ith the goal but it got called offside when he was 3 feet on.... the refs still on the wage bill for them as there club comes to an end. for anyone to say the ref had a good game is just wrong. nothing called for celtc in the 1st half but all called for rankers and once we were 9 down he starts to call a fair game and we get 2 goals ...rankers thank the refs and your team for corrupting the whole league cause the sfa is on your side and looks like you still get away with all your wrong doings.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Away you go take the defeat and move on use will still win the league its just postponed for now

Agree0 Disagree1

How many games were the Tic unbeaten? any complaints about the refs then? Didnt think so.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aaa yes there was complaints then....but yesterday was just the spl/sfa not wanting Celtic to win in your corrupt stadium. maybe less complaining back then because the ref didnt fully stop us from winning

Right up front i am saying i am a rangers fan, without doubt Celtic are the better team this season but it does get annoying when they do not perform there is always an excuse, what could NL have to complain about at half time, absolutely nothing, second sending off perhaps, does he not realise that it becomes a complete yawn to read about how he is persecuted by officialdom.

I stayed sober today so im gonna sum up what i saw through sober eyes.
Real time i thought all sending offs were justified. Slow motion shows Wanyama might have been unlucky but i dont blame the ref.
Rangers were the better team till the 89th minute. Deserved their victory hands down.
The only small gripe i have is there should have been more than 4 minutes injury time as both a goal was scored and a sub was made after the 90 was up.
Apart from that im no buying into this shockin referee nonsense.

Joeshmo1888

And they say that we need old firms. What aloud of crap. Al the shxte with police all week long about how to behave then the ref goes off is Fxcking head by sending two players and our manager off. Am I rite in saying that they didnt get a yellow card till the 81st minute?? Withaker at least fould 4-5 times didn't get book. Then suprize suprize 87 min ref gives a penalty and sends a rangers player off to make it look good. Lenny couldn't stay in the stands for his own safety. Like for fuxksakes its a game of football. So I say fxck the old firm games. World would be better of with out them. 3 red cards and a manager send off and there wasn't one nasty tackle in the game. Rant over. Bigirishmac

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Get a grip, we were gubbed today by a team better on the day and stop this constant always a unfair reason when we do not win, unquestionably best side this season but this whining by many, including NL when things go wrong is getting out of hand.

the referee was beyond a joke today. we werent playing particularly well but chas red was an embarrassing decision. wanyamas wasnt much better . if you play by the letter of the law you end up 5 a side. how blatant can a referee be. samaras was fouled all day and got nothing. what a bitter country we live in!!

Believable4 Unbelievable14

IMO Wanyama's was without question a red card.

Cha's I'm not so sure about. There was little contact, I reckon there's a chance Rogne could've got across to cover and even if Wallace wasn't fouled he still had a hell of a lot to do to beat Forster. Yellow for me, and would've been yellow if it'd happened at the other end.

Would that be the same ref that let your headless chicken of a captain off with as many fouls.Get real yous were beat FFs stop making excuses.

Bottle.have we got it? Stats on vital games suggest not.I posted a couple of months ago that this might happen as i dont feel we have been anywhere near our best. There just does not seem to be any tempo or pressing in our game, add to that slack passing and you got trouble.Aluko took his goal well but surely should have been crowded out,if Sammi had put the laces thru his effort we are level and the game changes.Poss offside for their second(level i thought) and both sendings off were self inflicted.Pass marks to;brown, forster sammi and, just, rogne. No craft or guile pretty much all the second half means some players need to have a look at themselves.Bottlers? For me no.A failure to close big games out? Yes.Some one to put a foot on the ball when we need to slow a game down, make a killer pass or pull a trick to gain space.A playmaker in short, lubo anybody?Games change in a millisecond and it never fell for us,but these players need to shake themselves and see the opportunity they have missed to become legends at this club.A double will be advancement,so lets see it.............green jhedi

Believable5 Unbelievable0

The problem we have is Lenny's loyalty/blindspot when it comes to certain players. We had the same problem with Strachan.
Our midfield is 'criminally' short of creativity, especially when it is stifled by the sideways/backwards passing of the likes of Ki and Wanyama.
The accusation that we're a fair weather team will remain for as long as we can prove otherwise, and unfortunately that doesn't look likely on the evidence of past couple of seasons

so it seems that the pay cut the rankers players took was to keep paying the refs. that was schocking calls by the ref. Celtic had no calls in the first half well there was 10 or so fouls . the aluko goal was a nice one and so would have been samaras's run a minute later if he would have put it in. the cha sending off was wrong, cha just tapped the arm and the guys goes falling over fronts wards and to the right, vic's sending off did look like a bad chanllenge but he had his studs down and took the ball. but hyet the rf without thinking shows red. and when rankers bring down sammy the ref takes 2 mins to think about it and sends rankers player off. once the ref started calling a fair game onec celtic were down to 9 men, we get 2 goals, and one of the rankers was never a goal cause he was off side. the ref sure did help them today in every aspect! But we are still the best team in the land and the home party will be better. I JUST HOPE THAT A CHANGE IN THE SPL,SFA AND ALL OF SCOTLAND HAPPENS CAUSE FAIR PLAY IS WHAT PEOPLE LOVE TO WATCH AND NOT THE SPECIAL TREATMENT THAT RANKERS GET. glad to see the game not get out of control and hope everyone at it made it out go

Soz Lenny your a hero but you
got it wrong today. We have a good
team but are very young and
inexperienced still. 4 central midfielders
dont work, and no right back likes
playin left back. Izzy shud have
started aaand playin 1 up front
meant the ball came back too easily
when played up which gave them
an early boost to know that they were not under threat. Only need a couple of older heads
and get rid of squad players and we be fine.
Oh it also helps if you are in dugout
when we down to 10 plaqyers you let
the team down today as we already
know we can come back at them with 10
men.

You do not know the definition of 'journeyman'. I am a time-served Engineer and, as an apprentice, your 'Journeyman' is the guy that teaches you your trade. The current Celtic side is obviously short of a 'journeyman'....i.e a real experienced, time-served, top level pro to teach the young team how to win cup finals, and see out the big games, especially Champions League qualifiers next season.........hail hail....kbt1978

If we can't beat a rangers team like this how we ever going to win big games in europe ? Sorry lenny but time is up. Winning run is good but in reality we should be winning most of those games every season in any case. It's the big ones that are important and all too often we are found wanting. Team selection today puzzzling for many. Never play players out of position in these games unless essential. How many big games does he change formation after 10mins? Shows he knows he got starting 11 wrong in my opinion. That's not good enough for a celtic manager especially when it happens so frequently. Wanyama should have started cb to combat elbows. He is strongest we have in air. Ledley and brown cm as they always do a job. Mulgrew lb. Mathews shld have been rb. Cha cld have played rm as he has played there many times, for the pace we needed on flank. Stokes seldom plays lone striker so why start him there in a game this important? Either samaras on his own or throw brozuc in wi stokes. Not so important how things are up front as we can change it but solid through the spine is priority. Too much tinkering lenny. Get it solid and keep it solid. We need a manager with more experience am afraid.

It's not the questionable sending off or the wee tuppeny decisions all over the park....It's another case of nervy start and the usual 'bottlers' in yet another big game for Celtic Football Club.
The Rangers players are always well up for Old Firm games and give all for their manager.
We stutter and fanny about ...then lose a goal, then a man and need a super-human effort just to salvage a draw.
Personally I had my concerns with defensive shuffling. Why move 3 players around instead of doing a straight swap for left back at the start and now we have 4 holding midfielders and one striker so we need to do another re-shuffle!!
I am sick, fed up losing Big Games Bhoys.

We were well on top, when cha was sent off. Wallace hit the deck cause he wasnt getting the ball. Sending off changed the game. How can you fall forward from a tug on your arm? Ive seen us play better, but today the ref made sure we were not winning tittle at Ibrox.

Let's hope he gets a game tomorrow Ed and shows the world what he can do lol. Messi wouldn't have a hard time in Germany he tortured Leverkusen. I hate it when people use the "cold night against Stoke" phrase he'd murder Stoke, people said the same about Suarez and he's played Stoke 3(one at Stoke on a cold mid week and he scored 2) times and torn them apart 3 times. I think United were just a better team then, you had Tevez, Ferdinand and Vidic at there best Van Der Saar, etc so I don't think it was down to Ronaldo. If anyone gets Madrid ticking or is key to Madrids style its Alonso. He runs the show.
I think Messi sumed it up perfectly, Ronaldo said hed been sent by the footballing Gods to teach the World how to play, and Messi turned around and said" I don't remember sending him". LMFAO. We could go on all night, both are great players, but Messi is better :-)

Smithy

Believable3 Unbelievable0

25 Mar 2012 00:51:13
Bloody hell I can't believe that, that's hilarious. Out of intrest what team has Ronaldo changed on his own Ed? Madrid have a whole host of top class players and so did the Mancs when he was there. Ronaldos never played well against Barca, and he has never delivered on the big stage half as much as Messi, but that's what makes sites intresting, opinions.
JFT96
Smithy {Ed007's Note - He made Utd a great team compared to now, put him back at OT and he would transform the whole squad into a different prospect for any opposition. He would have the same effect as Cantona on the team. Could Messi do what he does on a freezing cold January night against Stoke? Madrid do always have class players throughout the team but there is always a need for someone a bit special to pull the strings, Raul, Zidane and now Ronaldo. I hate Italian football and it is gave unwarranted credit IMO but Messi would have a terrible time over there,or even the Bundesliga, I think Ronaldo could handle them better. Let's have it right though, neither of them are near the level of the Derry Pele ;-)

What Ed? Lol, I'm not having that, no way would that thug Keane ring up surely? Saying that he does like an argument lol, hed cause a riot in an empty room. It looks photoshopped to me, but it might just be a bad picture, if its legit, the tiny bit of respect I had for Chelsea fans would be gone. Who do we all think is better Messi or Ronaldo? Got to be Messi for me, he's en route to becoming the best ever, he is different class, incredible.
JFT96
Smithy {Ed007's Note - It is 100% gen up Smithy, honestly, one of the Eds phoned up about it and Ed002 also confirmed it. I might be bias (I do like Madrid as well) but I go for the Boy O, he can change an entire team by himself, Messi is amazing but you need to play to a style that suits him, until (if ever) he leaves that mob nobody will know how good he actually is as a stand alone talent. He does struggle at international level as well and for that I have to say Maradona is still the best player I have ever seen, what he done for Napoli and Argentina takes an exceptional talent. I doubt Messi could drag a whole club or country up to that kind of level.}

No worries Ed mate, I've seen the people on the sites who claim to know more because they go the games which is ridiculous, we all know how expensive the games going now. That certainly sums up the modern era of Chelsea fans, so I wouldn't be suprised if it were true lol.
