Alright guys, I'm heading to Caleta de Fuste in Fuerteventura on the 10th Sep.
Gutted i'm going to miss the PSG and Glasgow Derby, I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any good bars that will have the games.

Cheers in advance.

Was there a couple of months ago, Oconnells Irish bar just off the square on the way to the beach is a good bar for the games, I watched the pre-season friendliest in there, was packed both games.

ED IS Liam Henderson injured at present? I thought I would of seen him get a chance this season, can't progress without game time and if he isn't going to get that this season then surely a loan is more beneficial?

Only a couple of seasons to go then hopefully wee Karamoko Dembele graces the pitch in the green and white, hopefully along with more youth graduates HH.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Henderson's not injured mate, he was on the bench last weekend, and I wouldn't have been surprised either to see him go out on loan but he's out of contract next year so unless the Club are going to offer him an extension and then loan him out I don't know what's going to happen. It's an odd one.}

25 Aug 2017 21:39:44
Simple question. Who do you drop for him?

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Aug 2017 21:51:44
Had high hopes for Henderson but like i have said before it's time to leave Celtic for the good of his career.

Agree2 Disagree2

25 Aug 2017 23:50:59
Hopefully he gets a chance to prove himself before he leaves I thought he was a decent player, same with that young lad Michael Johnston but he seems to be off the radar at the minute.

26 Aug 2017 02:20:52
His younger brother is making great progress in and around development squad.

His younger brother is a far better player than Liam.

Back to normality tomorrow with the Scottish Premiership. Looking forward to the game as I feel St Johnstone always give us decent game. Tommy Wright has worked wonders there and has his team well organised.
Still confident, so I'm going for a 2-0 win.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

25 Aug 2017 20:40:53
I'm hoping the team has a reaction to falling apart in the second half with Astana, it would be good to see how we progress with a point to prove. Thinking we might bang in 4.

25 Aug 2017 21:00:43
Although the defence was poor for 30 minutes, I don't think there's a point to prove for qualifying with a 4 goal aggregate lead. No reaction needed id say. A win will do fine.

Tomorrow is the day we top the league and we won't give it up for rest of the season.

Here's a question in terms of transfers in my opinion I don't think we need any more signings domesticly as we have more than enough. So if u look at it from a money point of view how much would u want to spend to help us through 6 games of the season really with the draw we have been given really what do you think ED?

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - {Ed007's Note - With the squad we've got we should cruise through the domestic season and let's face it, we might get a result against Munich or PSG but we'll never challenge them, if we faced either in the Last 16 we'd struggle against that level and for me we always will as things stand. I definitely think that a new quality 'keeper would improve the first team but that's not happening this summer.
I'd like a new CB to play beside Simunovic in the CL but I don't think it's as necessary as others make out and I don't think Coetzee is at that level yet. I see him more of Sviatchenko's replacement as back up.
Roberts signing will excite fans and give us a player that'll get you off your seat, we know what we're getting and he definitely adds a lot to the team, even at CL level.
With only Dembele and Griffiths as recognised strikers we're always one injury away from a crisis, we need to look at either an older Toure type signing or a younger player that would be happy to step up to playing for Celtic knowing that his chances will be limited, Jack Aitchison is just a kid and we can't expect him to lead the line.
I'm not saying all of that would get us through in the CL but it would improve us as a team/squad.}

Just a thought, assuming everyone agrees that we wouldn't need anymore additions to dominate domestically, do you reckon the increased income can be reinvested to generate a longer term higher revenue stream, essentially ventures such as the hotel proposal etc
It seems a lot of people (myself including at times) think the board squirrel away the cash, however i have no idea of the cost of increased contracts etc and how this impacts our budget.
We do have:
Stadium
Lennox town (which seems to be productive just now)
Celtic way
Hotel/ museum?

Is there a way we can develop income for longer term using the money available right now, still dominate domestically and enjoy the glamour of the CL groups?
Obviously my priority would be a team competing with europes top clubs, but I can't see how we could ever break into this elite without fundamental restructuring of the whole European system/ league set up.

Any thoughts?

ED007 guys what do you make of the ticket prices for the CL
I got told a 3 game package for season ticket holders will cost £114, multiply that by 60,000 means club will earn £8.4m+ for tickets alone, bit steep in my eyes.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - £38 a ticket doesn't sound too bad to me.}

25 Aug 2017 19:29:07
General sale is £50 each.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2017 19:41:04
£150 for general sale. Shocking really.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Same as a ticket for Ibrox which people are more than happy to pay.}

25 Aug 2017 20:01:00
i think its a good price for the package tbf.

25 Aug 2017 20:01:18
Fook sake we complain if we don't get there then complain at a premium price for a premium game

That annoyed don't go!

Supply and demand

Sure if ticket holders don't buy then those without will.

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Aug 2017 20:39:06
If am lucky enough to snare a package I'll pay that. The Astana game was £33 so a expected a bit of a hike. Last year's package was £129 if memory serves me right.

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Aug 2017 19:54:24
I thought the ticket prices are ok feck it's 50 for the crumble done so 38 to 50 for champions league sounds about right if I'm honest hh.

25 Aug 2017 20:01:00
agree ed . we all want to be in champions league but moan about prices 😣 we gon aboit celtic will make 30 mil + where do folk think well make that money from? fair dues il get the cheaper package like all season ticket holders that's only fair imo.

25 Aug 2017 20:17:56
I gave my ST up a few years ago but. try get to the odd game when I can. I went to the 3 CL qualifiers and tickets cost £27, £30, and finally £33. £150 for the 3 game package I think is worth it and hopefully I can buy one.

25 Aug 2017 22:01:40

25 Aug 2017 20:50:42
Marco £5 a game ncrease after season ticket increase is hard to take when you struggle to afford to go to home games . Ps could sell tickets for a lot more but would rather be at the game.

Inspired by the T-Shirt that's doing the rounds thought I'd write a full lyric to the Big Strong Cham (which could become my new favourite song! )

Have you heard about the big strong Cham
He comes from Paris, France
Have you heard about his goal against Astana
The one that put an end to all the drama
You can take all the players that you got
We've got a lad that can beat the whole lot
He used to play for Man City
Now he's come to join, the Celtic

He's our Cham, the best (what's he got)
He'll soon have forty medals on his chest (big chest)
He take on the huns and all the rest
He knows no rest, think of the new Wanyama
Don't push, just shove, plenty room for Broon and Cham
he's got an arm (Got an Arm! )
like a leg (Like a leg! )
and a strike that can sick a battle ship (Big Ship! )
it takes all the army and the navy to get the ball off N Cham

Ed, PL is quoted as saying that he hasn't yet finalised things with Man City for Paddy. If it's just a loan should it not be a straight forward matter? Would this situation lead you to think that he's genuinely trying to bring the lad in on a permanent deal, or is that just wishful thinking on my part? HH.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - We've always wanted a permanent move for Roberts as have City, it's the player himself that would prefer another loan as he believes he can still carve out a future for himself at City.}

25 Aug 2017 11:48:15
So what your saying is that PR is the won who is holding off just now? Do u think ED that the two signings PL mentioned are the Coetzee and PR deals?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Nothings changed. Roberts has said all along that he would only leave City on another loan and that his preferred destination was Celtic while City wanted him to go to Southampton or abroad if it was only a loan deal.}

25 Aug 2017 12:07:37
What Celtic should do is say we're bigger than u PR promote the young guys and get in a CH with experience of CL with funding we will save from getting PR in? What do u think ED?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Well Kolo Toure is at Lennoxtown today.}

25 Aug 2017 12:16:33
He's not fit enough he mite know of somebody who looking for a game haha. ED I respect your opinion so do u think that the two hopefull signings PL is talking about could be Coetzee and PR or is it some other possibilities?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think there will be more than those 2 added to the squad before the window closes.}

25 Aug 2017 12:20:54
I'd look elsewhere if he doesn't want permanent deal .

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Aug 2017 12:33:15
Agree DRB, we want players to want to be here! Ed do you have you heard of any other players for the wing if PR deal doesn't materialise?

{Ed007's Note - Jonny Hayes.}

25 Aug 2017 12:50:47
Looks like there might not be any announcement today about Paddy then. Let's not build our hopes up bhoys, if it happens it happens. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There won't be any announcement today.}

25 Aug 2017 13:09:59
Here one to get your juices goin' Ed Ollie Burke has signed for WBA so one would imagine James McLean will be surplus to requirements down there?

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Don't they play on opposite wings? McClean would be a great understudy to Sinclair right enough and the meltdown from the Klan would be absolutely delicious.}

25 Aug 2017 13:38:35
A thought J McC played either wing just checked and your right WL or LM but heh CL football, PR in and JMcC all in one week that would have the zombies POPPYIN' there corks don't you think? :-P.

25 Aug 2017 19:34:14
Come on Jamesbhoy are u seriously shocked that we're fannying about? It happens every window mate! all bluster and smokescreens til next Thursday then it's the old well we tried our best but we just couldn't get the players in! That's lawell said nothing certain regarding PR Chris Davies used the line nothing imminent and Brendan says tonite we're trying to add quality but IF we can't get it we won't! I'm very much a pessimist when it comes to Celtics transfer dealings! But maybe lawell will surprise us all! Oh look there goes a pig flying by ma bedroom window!

URGENT APPEAL

Are you a decent european team, currently not participating in either the Champions League or Europa League. Are you a team most football fans would recognise. Do you have a free date in January for a friendly game against a once big club, now down on it's luck. Are you able to accommodate 5000+ "enthusiastic" fans still clinging to past glories, seeking to prove their club is still "relevant" in european matches.
If so please contact our Commercial Manager at Ibrox Park, Glasgow, Scotland to finalise details. Please note ANY AND ALL EXPENSES will be met by the host club, including match fees, hotel expenses and all drinks etc. in return you will have the pleasure of seeing "Pedro's Portuguese Players" at the height of their powers. Do not miss out on this fabulous offer as our club is DESPERATE to be on a european stage again.

See bfdj enlightening us with his wisdom in his et piece although you would think he should pretend to be a wee bit neutral no he says he was gutted we got into the CL because of the gulf between us and sevco. so we have a Scottish pundit wanting a Scottish team to get beat unbelievable and folk still buy this rag.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

25 Aug 2017 11:51:33

25 Aug 2017 10:15:55
I was just reading on sly sports that Mat Le tissier thinks it would be more of an upset than Leicester winning the league if we progress to next round.
What a load of crap to talk, we can beat any of these teams at home and on our day are more than capable of taking points away from home. If we're 5000-1 to qualify then I might stick on a cheeky 10er 🤑 HH.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

25 Aug 2017 10:51:48
They are a bunch of tools Paul Merson is the biggest one of the lot never gives us credit. You would think Aresnal were world beaters in the CL the way he talks.

BT panel, commentary, the lot is better. Hope Sly sinks.

Agree3 Disagree1

25 Aug 2017 11:34:34
Well let's hope we shut them all up remember they said city would pump us twice last season how'd that work out.

25 Aug 2017 18:11:16
Maybe those sky pundits should have a look at how many times we have been in the champions league and Europe and the finances celtic have to work with. Then have a look at how many times Leicester were there. They will never given celtic any credit. Have a look merson how the gunners have done recently with all there millions. So typical of them when its not a team from the premier league.

Now that the fixtures have been announced I think the first 2 games of the groups will be massive. If we can take anything from PSG at home and then hopefully beat Anderlecht in Belgium we'll be in good shape going into the Bayern double header.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

25 Aug 2017 11:27:50
The first two are vital. I would say the Belgians away is the key to us securing Europa league. I can't see us ousting either of the top two but I do think we can do Anderlect.

I would tear your arm off for a draw against PSG at home. This would raise the confidence and with our defence sorted in confident we could score away from home and get a result in Belgium.

Just get tore in Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2017 06:41:08
That's a tough group but in some ways it's the best we could ask for , Anderlecht ain't taking nothing from Munich or Paris so it's a two leg play off with them to get into the Europa league and I fancy our chances.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

25 Aug 2017 08:34:30
Anderlecht will be saying the same about us; so it's all down to the head-to-head contest and any scraps we can get at the end if the group is won and teams rest players. As always, the Celtic Park factor will be our biggest ally.

Agree3 Disagree2

25 Aug 2017 09:06:07
In my opinion Barcelona are better than Bayern Munich, Manchester City are probably on a par with PSG and Borussia Monchengladbach are better than Anderlecht so don't see why everyone thinks its between us and Anderlecht to see who gets the Europa League spot by coming 3rd in the Group. For me we should be looking to get 10 points from this group. We are in it to compete not to scrap to avoid the wooden spoon. Bit more faith in our Manager and Team many a club has come to Parkhead and crumbled on a CL night.

Agree4 Disagree4

25 Aug 2017 10:09:42
i think the reality is we will get nothing from Bayern, if we get lucky we my get a draw from PSG at home. I would hope we could get a point away to Anderlecht and then it's probably up to the boys to secure third place on the last game at home to Anderlecht. Although if we spend some decent cash in the next couple of weeks it may make our job easier.

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Aug 2017 10:11:01
I'm with you Stan, we should be trying to get through my only issue is that we are excellent at defending with the ball but how solid is our defence going to be defending for longer periods with out the ball? Maybe when Boyata comes back things will shore up?

Agree2 Disagree2

25 Aug 2017 10:24:36
Stan a think it'll depend on how we get on the last week of window hopefully get the players we're after.

Agree2 Disagree1

25 Aug 2017 11:44:33
An interesting few days ahead Mally and i'm not paying any attention to what PL has said it would not be in the Clubs best interest to say we have X amount of cash or we are hoping to sign X amount of players I'm pretty sure we will strengthen with real Quality and a wee surprise thrown in. SOSBhoy I think Boyata has been a big miss especially defending and attacking at set pieces but also before injury himself and Jozo were developing a good understanding together and that takes times so it shows how well our CB's have done in qualifying although it's not a pairing we can look to long term. I don't know anything about the South African lad BR has said he is able to come straight in. Heard yesterday we are looking to bring someone in from Liverpool but that's all I know I don't know anything about their squad but looking at our own squad surely it must be a defender or attacker, if true. I know we were looking at one of their midfielders in January can only image we would buy a midfielder if it was a long term deal and someone to replace Armstrong. I'd personally offer him for McCarthy in January if Everton are still interested. I think Ed will be as busy as PL over the next few days.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2017 15:20:53
remember we got nothing from the germans last year, and they finished 9th in the table and last 16 of el after cl, with Munich finishing first in their league. so germans will be very tough - but they are definitely not invincible.

PSG are big heids and hope we bring them back down to earth. But they have massive spending power and a list of starts - but again - not invincible - tough asks and were are not expecting much - so anything from these two weould be remarkable.

last year I really thought we'd beat BMGB so what do I know - but we are a far better side (with fully fit defence) and Anderlecht are weaker than last year (they did get to round of 16 el last year, beaten by winners MU. ) but aren't doing so great in their league so far.

el at least for us, but just glad to be there.
