Does anyone know the current situation with the green brigade? I heard they were offered another section after the Dundee utd game (Incase they heckled fergus McCann ) and knocked it back! Anyone know if this is true or if they will be there tomorrow night? I hope they are the get the place going and we will need it bouncing .

{Ed007's Note - Green Brigade Statement:

Again, it is with complete dismay that we must announce that we won’t be attending the Maribor match on Tuesday night. After a summer of amicable and progressive dialogue with the Club we are bitterly disappointed that at this stage of the new season they have still failed to grant season tickets after being given constant assurances on the matter.

Going forward the situation looks bleak. We have exhausted pretty much all avenues in attempting to secure a permanent, Club-sanctioned section along with re-building and sustaining a positive working relationship with the Club. It is becoming increasingly clear though that some at the Club must not be interested in the prospect of us returning to Celtic Park. This is all the more frustrating after a summer of positive relations and what now seems clear to have been constant false-promises.

Whilst we remain open to further, worthwhile dialogue with the Club in the hope of coming to a sensible and speedy resolution our priority must now be on consulting with the section and planning a strategy for supporting Celtic as non-season ticket holders. As such we will organise a section meeting ASAP. We apologise if anyone feels let down by this outcome but must stress that we have done all that we possibly can. Perhaps, ironically, our downfall here is that we have taken the Club at their word all summer. Despite our disappointment at the moment, and the obvious challenge ahead, we obviously remain intent in doing all that we can in order to support Celtic as much as possible.

Until the last rebel.

Ed if you don't mind me asking what's your take on the gb do u think they are right in demanding that section they had and do u think the clubs hands are tied or what?

Evening ed, I'm taking a friend to only there second ever football match Tomorrow their first game being when they were young and daft and ended up the other side of Glasgow watching a game involving a team in blue could you tell me if we're looking at a sell out or a very good crowd as I've told them there's nothing quite like celtic park on an important European night cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - There should be a good crowd tomorrow night, I wouldn't worry about that.}

I would send balde on loan to somewhere like hibs 4 a year

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its rumoured his old club Victoria Guimaraes are wanting a loan for him but can't afford to pay all his wages

Thoughts for tomorrow? I'm felling bit nervous but think we should be good enough to get the right result hail hail

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We outplayed them in the first game, bizarre incident with big Virgil hitting Johansson on the line stopped us getting an away win, only worry I have is that they are a counter attacking team and we are too gung ho at times, COYBIG.

25 Aug 2014 23:06:37
Just hope we don't go gun ho cause they will sit in again and try catch us on the break but it's not upto us 2 force the game it's them that need the 1st goal so I would attack but do it smart don't go all out attack

I don't know what all the fuss is about with all this pouring water over your head. Catholics have been doing this for years before it became cool to do.
Hail Hail.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not fuss it's about raising awareness for ALS motor neurones disease! I know 2 people personally who have died from this disease and jinky also died from it so far in the uk 65m has been raised through these videos so I'd hardly call raising a lot of money for charity fuss and there's a bit of fun involved too!

Agree0 Disagree0

My gran died of it. Heartbreaking seeing loved ones slowly rot away, trapped inside a body that cannot function.

Its a fantastic fund raising idea and whoever came up with idea deserves a medal.

@celticfc: RD on new signings: “Things are moving. We have a week left and hope to sign a couple of players but at the moment nothing is ready." (MH)

@celticfc: RD: “Looking to get players out on loan. We have a lot of young players who need experience. Important, as you can see with Callum." (MH)

"important as you can see with Callum" RD stating that the step up from the development squad is huge.
Only exceptional players can expect to do this, hence the farming out of the more promising players.
Once again the idea of the second string playing in the lower league seems a good one but with the SFA hell bent on destroying what they are supposed to be protecting and promoting don't hold your breath.

I think PL believes that we fans are stupid. Reports have suggested he did the usual lowball in his first bid for Scepovic but he's put his faith in RD's ability to get us to the CL and stumped up. Not much of a risk considering we're playing a worse team than Legia, with an away goal, in a packed Parkhead. Where was this investment earlier? I'm happy with a decent bit of investment but we wouldn't have got it without the likely prospect of CL, which ironically would have been down to our board's unwillingness to back the manager

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thats it. Having the balls to speculate to accumulate. Or just to put money back in the side wisely, giving the fans a better product. Already more excited about this lads gialscoring ability than Pukki Balde and Fridjonsson put together.

Kev
I wish I had your level of certainty about the return leg against NK Maribor.
The tie is far from over and even though we should be optimistic we have no reason to be overly confident. We could just as easily find ourselves settling for Europa League football if we don't play well. Everyone thought we had a good chance of overhauling Legia in the second leg and look what happened. Yes I know it was at Murrayfield and we hadn't gelled as a team but it should be a warning shot over our heads that we are not in the group stages just yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that's called negotiation tactics mate. This obsession we have about spending money has to stop. RD is a coach, let's give him time to mould his own team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry gj if ronny doesn't beat Maribor then he has to go as I don't think there is a celtic supporter who doesn't think we should be beating Maribor after drawing away and being the better team. You can't treat fans with disrespect by fielding a second team then lose to Maribor and expect to be given time. If as expected we beat Maribor then he will have bought himself time to implement a style he wants.

Agree0 Disagree0

Said on here last season I don't think there will be a lot of spending till rangers are back in the top flight as in PL mind we will win the league, maybe the cups with the squad we have, I honesty think if rangers get back up next year a good bit of cash will be invested in the team to blow them out the water

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think we will spend the money even if that other team gets promoted. Celtic and PL operate a limited business model due to the financial restrictions of the league we play in. That will continue until the financial situation changes which doesn't mean if they get promoted.
Haha does that make sense?

@5 if PL and the board had made the appropriate complaints at the time, he could have blown them out of Scottish football permanently, if his only concern is a reincarnate, he should be relieved of his position for the contempt being shown to his clubs supporters. Like most Celtic fans, I am totally baffled by the lack of ambition shown by this club. Two bites at the European cherry and they still want to sit back and hope for the best. Most club have potential targets identified well in advance, we give the impression we sit in a darkened room and only start looking when the transfer window opens!

Agree0 Disagree0

Byoys Ronny deserves at least 2 years to impliment his plans. We have hard a total turnaround in the way Celtic play football. Some of you expect everything to gel over night - grow up. If Ronny had played his Champions League Team and The Plastic Sheep had kicked us all over the park and we picked 3-4 injuries to key players you would been all going off your nut. In Ronny I trust and he must be given the support and thye time to implement his plans. Don't be too harsh on the sharp suited man, he is clever the way he does things and as soon as the Legia mistake was made public there was only going to be one outcome, he probably was on the phone to Blatter and Platini stating the case. We have a great chance to progress the morra night so let's just Support the Bhoys for the 90 mins or how ever long it takes. Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

How does changing the team, help it gel?

Agree0 Disagree0

RD has certain;y put all his eggs in one basket re tomorrow night and put more pressure on himself in the process, by fielding such a weakened side at Inverness - and tossing away 3 points.
I am not as confident as I would like to be as although we have an away goal, it just takes a mistake, bad decision or a fluke and we are chasing the game.
Obviously we are favourites, but we only managed one goal against them in the first leg with our strongest side and we are still finding our way.
I will be hoping a rocking Celtic Park will lift the Bhoys to victory.

Does anybody have any inside knowledge regarding Holmbert? I'm guessing his days are numbered with the potential arrival of Scepovic.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

At the risk of sounding like a broken record kjartason who was on trial at the same time has now scored 24 in 23 games, who assessed them, could we still get him on the cheap before a dutch club swoop and then have a protracted transfer saga with the dutch club
