Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

24 Sep 2018 23:05:06
Kris Boyd coming out and saying Celtic is predictable but Brendan Rodgers won't change it. The teams have us sussed out. I think that's probably the best thing to happen maybe Brendan needs to read what players in the league think of us (him) in order for us to change things. The tactics worked winning a double treble but it isn't anymore. Hopefully that article will humble him and we see a different approach from now onwards.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - So we're listening to Kris Boyd now? Maybe we should get him in as manager if he knows so much, maybe even just to coach the strikers eh?}

25 Sep 2018 09:14:13
Birds a fecking moron, whose got on the delusion train. The truth is simple. We are out of form all over the park. We have less options to change it after the window, but we still have enough to do it. All it needs is the players we have to step up to the plate. Take all the rubbish being written and spoken and yes that as motivation to ram it down their throats.

If they think it’s over they are even more gullible that I thought. And believe me that was total.

Said it before it's the game plan, if money was no object say we signed wanyama and van dijk and lakaku probably cost us upwards of 170-180m do you think with the 70% of our possession pass pass pass rubbish sitting in our own defence these players would make a massive difference I'm not too sure they would in fact I'm positive they wouldn't, the players are paid enough they should be thrashing the rest of the spfl easy but they are not they turned Up against rangers though which tells me there may be issues within the squad and the manager that's what needs fixed and the tactics if they get fixed we will start smashing teams again when Brendan managed Swansea they played fast attacking football 433 formation really good to watch this is not how Brendan like to play its very strange.

I read an article by a Darren Coney earlier about celtic. (I usually don't read the daily rectum but I was bored in the hospital ) . It's like a rangers fanzines article. These guys don't even try to hide what they are anymore. Celtic have hit a bad patch whilst rangers are winning and doing well for a few games and the world's great but when celtic are winning everything scottish footballs pish! We will get our act together and this blip will be forgotten when we win the league. Celtic have lost only 6 games in the league since Brendan took charge. We haven't lost any domestic cup games yet it's a crisis!

Personally the players are where I’m pointing my finger .
The vast majority have been there long enough to know their role in the team . for me Brown, Teirney, Boyata, are among the very few pulling their weight .
The biggest culprits are simunovic and Sinclair who have gave very little return in over a season now . that’s too long to be called off form .

Just reading the story about Johnny Hayes stepping in to stop a wee boy from getting bullied and making sure the lad got home safe. turns out the wee guy is fan of the other side but was absolutely made up when Johnny sent him a signed Celtic top and note saying not to let bullies get u down and he’s there if the lad needs him! Really heartwarming story that and just thought I’d say well done Johnny, sounds like a nice down to earth guy and should be proud of himself! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Absolutely detest bullies and all they stand for. thought I would share that to cheer us up after the game yesterday lol HH 🍀💚🍀.

{Ed007's Note - My Mrs was talking about that earlier. The only acceptable bullying is Broony consistently bullying the Zombie midfield.}

Ed it’s absolutely amazing he knows what I’m thinking and when I’m not too great. I’d a stroke three years ago and ever since he licks my right side. I love him to bits and dread the day anything happens to him. Never trust a man that changes his football team or doesn’t love animals! 👍.

Totally agree and think we are all on a downer these days, - wondering when the real Celtic will eventually turn up.
It's obvious we have been spoiled rotten for a while now and it's very unsettling and disappointing watching the way we have been playing (or not playing) with so many players well below par.
The biggest worry for me is the managers demeanor and apparent inability to motivate or rectify the most obvious of problems and his interview after the game was very matter of fact; almost defeatist and he seems to have lost his enthusiasm and appetite?
We all know that there was real friction between him and Lawell during the window and the after-shock from the CL exit and transfer window debacle has really rocked the club to the core.
We all hope we sort ourselves out, improve performances and get back to winning ways, but I feel we are currently missing the managers spark and confident swagger and it's filtering through.

Not football related but any plumbers/ gas engineers etc I'm looking for some advice.
Looking at buying a house and seen one with warm air heating and water storage unit as opposed to modern combi boiler. I'm not sure how old the system and/ or house is exactly but just wondered if this should be avoided or if it's economical etc? Thanks Hail Hail.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - If it's what I'm thinking about my wee mate is in a private let across the road from me and his heating (is it storage heaters?) costs him a fortune to run.}

24 Sep 2018 14:44:40
No not electric storage heaters ed. It's warm air through vents throughout the house.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 👍

24 Sep 2018 14:47:33
Some people like the warm air as it’s instant heat mate and the house is usually designed for warm air not so good if there is any rooms without a vent! Warm air units still get fitted mate and you can still get parts for them despite what the cowboys that are the gasboard will tell you! Warm air heats up fast mate but wouldn’t be as economical as a modern boiler.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 15:07:48
@henrik avoid any place with storage heaters as ED007 says, also with these older un renovated houses the amount of work needed doing is prohibitive, just installing central heating alone will cost upwards of £3k depending on size of house.
My advice is keep looking.

Cheers Bhoys. Like I say it's not storage heaters which cost a fortune to run, however its a water storage unit. I don't really understand all that and someone has told me it would be best to rip it out and replace with a water CH system with combi boiler. Which will obviously cost a few grand. Should I ask PL for a loan? Or Close Bros?

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 15:55:19
If it is that type of system Henrik I would imagine that it airs/ serves the entire block? If there is no gas cooker in your kitchen you would need to check the property itself is served with gas or can be

As a Landlord your options could and will be limited if it serves more than one property mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 16:28:04
No its a detached house Jamie with a gas cooker. For some reason it's just not got gas CH so wondered if there are many drawbacks of warm air heating and water storage tank compared to a combi boiler.

JFP a was there today for a wee wonder I will be there for next month on October day! It wouldn’t be cheap mate to put in a new wet system as you would need new radiators boiler and pipes. What did home report say about it mate did it say it was working?

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 17:17:38
Very old heating idea. It's a dry warm air pushed through the house. No ideal if anyone has allergies.

Cheap to run would check you can still get components. As local authorities ripped them out and replaced with combi. Very few components in them .

If it was me buying house I would rip out and install a combi.

Not a heating engineer bud but I’m a sparky. Anything that uses electricity for heating and hot water is going to cost more than gas. There are some really good warm air systems out there obv don’t know what you have. Storage heating is being faded out bhoys there are far better alternatives now such as intellirads that are oil filled and customise to the environment they are fitted.

Just read you have gas in property no brainer central heating system n boiler bud.

{Ed007's Note - I remember when I was wee and we had to put an electric switch (called an emerger or something) on hours before we wanted a bath or that - it was caveman stuff in Fairhill back in the day 😁
Once there was a team of us dogging school in my mate's house with a carry-out to watch a bootleg copy of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and the lecky boy came to read the meter and my mate's dad had a metal spike up through the meter to stop it turning, even the pub down the bottom of my street got done about 4/5 years ago for running their lecky off the street light supply, you'd make a fortune in my scheme Welshy lol

24 Sep 2018 19:36:23
Electric heating costs Approx 13-16 per kWh (unit) . Gas costs about 4.5p per kWh. Gas is about 4 times cheaper to run. A combination will pay for itself in about 2 3 years.

Peter Lawell is a first class business man and is well respected and if I was DD and owned Celtic I’d want him there. He does appear to be as tight as a crabs arse at 40 fathoms though and has made a total James Hunt of things recently with transfer window and potentially he needs to learn that there is a balance to be found and that for the business to be successful we want to see a quality product on the park not just a healthy bank balance.

Jf last week's figures were remarkable for a Scottish club over 100mill turnover a avotyush record iver 17mill profit not including the mousse fee and Armstrong no wonder DD lives him but he's made an absolute erse of the window especially mcginn. what's hard about strengthening from a position of strength it's no rocket science.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 17:00:58
Mally i promised myself I wouldn’t mention his name again because I was getting slaughtered but the McGinn fiasco for me was the catalyst for the wheels coming off our bogie and was an almighty feck up to save waashers. That’s where PL let himself down for me and Hibs and John thought feck off. It’s in the past as others have said. What’s done is done and what’s won it’s won and what’s lost is lost and gone forever. We are where we are acknowledge the mistake (s) and move on. I can only pray for a bright brand new day for the club I love so well. And BR deserves our support despite his mistakes for what he’s achieved. Their was only one man that was perfect (oh and his maw) .

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 18:59:28
The experts on this forum laughed at the thought of Celtic wasting their money by even spending £2m for McGinn as he could be signed on a pre- contract in January . That was the advice the experts who. know everything gave.
Even if Mr Lawwell bid really over the top for McGinn he wasn't getting McGinn as Petrie had taken the hump because Celtic had signed Bains from Dundee when on loan to Hibs and Petrie said he wouldn't agree to any Hibs players signing for Celtic if he had any say
I don't know what Lawwell could have done to sign Mc Ginn, but I do know that no matter how big a problem it was, the matter should have been kept in - house, B R decided to go public and we have played well only once since, against Rangers2012 .
Every person knows that united we will succeed but divided we will fail . A disunited Celtic team is fully illustrated by conceded a goal from a corner in the 3rd minute of injury time . As Champions an United Celtic would be doing their utmost to win the match, not defending corner in a lazy haphazard way . The entire game was dirge but no matter how useless most of our players were there is absolutely no excuse for conceding that goal then and if any of our players are not ashamed of themselves and team mates they should leave and leave. ASAP.

We have more than good enough players to win the SPL, but is that our manager's primary objective, it seems to me he wants more respect from P L and maybe even

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 10:27:12
I see there's a few posts about getting players out of the club and we need to sign quality replacements. Both points I agree with but again don't know how easy it will be to move people on

I also see people blaming the board for not spending but a lot of the players people want out were brought in the last 2 years or so. That leads on to who is doing the scouting and signing? If it's the board identifying players and not taking the managers input then yeah the blame lies with them. If it's congerton and Rodgers well the blame has to lie with them.

I'm leaning towards it being Rodgers and congerton and maybe the board have lost some confidence in they player choices hence why we didn't sign any real quality other than eddy. If that's the case then the scouting system needs to looked at.

I'm just speculating, ed have you got and insight?

Well I thought I’d leave posting until I calmed down from yesterday lol. yesterday was like watchn a repeat of mostly every game we have played this season, Hamilton hearts Killie st Mirren suduva Rosenborg. we have become so predictable and clueless it’s actually scary! The transfer window was a disaster and it cost us the CL, as did players throwing toys out the pram and it not getting dealt with in the correct manner! Our whole squad has went stale and a blind man could see it need freshening up in the summer. the most worrying thing to me over all is that Brendan doesn’t seem to have that spark that was there before and to me looks and sounds like a guy who’s is totally scunnered! There is time to turn this round and like ED said on the live chat it’s only September lol. but i’ll Be honest and say I had major worries before the season started about the direction our clubs going and what’s happened since only confirms that. if there’s ever a time to put a winning run of games together it’s now, starting on Wednesday in the cup! If not then this will very quickly become a crisis! Really hope I’m way off and we get our season back on track with a convincing victory on Wednesday!

We have all been waiting for that spark and jolt back to the form and performance we know they are capable of, but the disruption and disharmony of the last three months seems to have affected everyone.
There were glimpses of improvement before the International break, but that seems to have affected/ hampered some players even more.
Thankfully, it is still very early in the season and a couple of good results and performances will boost confidence and trigger recovery.

Don't allow sentimentality and the feel good factor from previous seasons stand in the way of this season's success . We cannot win SPL in September/ October but we can certainly lose it and that is looking increasingly possible . To lose a goal to an average SPL game in the 93rd min and when that goal uses the match. Leaves us with no option but to think our players re not properly motivated .

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 09:32:46
OK here is my "negative" post.
I promise later to post a more positive one.
So to fathom out how our bhoys are performing so poorly we have to back to pre season.
First our shambolic transfer window
Lawwell in particular, and Bankier must take their share of the blame, Lawwell tried to turn it into a "pissing contest" between him and Rodgers and made a cnut of himself in doing so. Pedro has cost club MILLIONS, they should dock his wages.
Next the attitude of Dembele and Boyata which clearly affected the whole team, in terms of togertherness.
We have to take into account also the effect the World Cup has had on our players Lustig and Rogic in particular, who clearly need more rest.
Sorry, but Brendan must shoulder a lot of blame, for his handling of the Dembele and Boyata situations, he came across as weak. Also his constant chopping and changing of the team, means we cannot build up consistwency or have a settled side. On Sunday he played 3 or 4 players who were clearly not match fit and the team paid the penalty for that.
I have said this for a while also, our corner kicks are abysmal, we have big tall players but we do not give them the proper service at corners and free kicks to make a difference. Also our throw ins are poor, we seem to take ages just to find someone to throw ball to, surely the coaches must work on these things and while working on them, tell Kennedy to go and make the tea, because he is NOT a coach.
Rant over, my ex bear pals have been gloating all Sunday night, let them, we are Celtic and we will come back stronger hail hail.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

24 Sep 2018 09:56:49
But Tim lawell says after announcing record figures that all the profits go back into the football department. Think he thinks we're all daft, it's just nonsense we are 3 players short and it's taking it's tollbig eddy is not a patch on the mousse and we have no creation i the team how could we absolutely make a pigs ear if this from a position of total dominance all we needed was a couple of players to keep our noses in front typical Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 10:11:02
I meant to add also, it is time for us the fans to get more involved, email, write to Lawwell, Bankier and Dermot Desmond about our unhappiness about the handling of the playing side of things.
Green Brigade, get your paint out, and make banners telling Board how fed up we are of them.
If nothing changes, DO NOT BUY club merchandise including new strips, Board will soon get the message when the cash stops flowing in.

After another mediocre performance yesterday there's a few things for me that needs addressed. Firstly ( and I'm not trying to single out one player) but what has happened to Sinclair? That guy has went from a player of the year 2 seasons ago to a player I don't think even rodgers recognises. Secondly, Brendan now after most games this season talks about no tempo, too many passes across the park, no intensity to our play etc etc. this is happened every game so far this season other than the Sevco game so why if rodgers continually speaks of this does it continue to happen? Thirdly sitting looking at our squad of players last night, de vries, gamboa, hendry, jozo, ( boyata wants out) , lustig, benyu, Hayes, kouassi, Christie, Morgan, comper, Allan, Sinclair, to name but a few should all be told to find new clubs. Easier said than done I know but we need a massive clear out and the guys I've mentioned bring nothing to the team. There's guys I've mentioned been at the club 2/ 3 years and done nothing and clearly aren't fancied so we must get rid. Our wage bill is near on £60 million, by getting rid of the names I've mentioned we massively reduce our squad and reduce the wage bill slowing us to bring in this QUALITY NOT QUANTITY that Brendan bangs in about.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

24 Sep 2018 10:05:41
The squad 'maintenance and control' has gone to pot in the past two years with far too many players that are not up to it, or not trusted to be given a run, while some of our better players have been sold without being replaced with similar or better standard.
The majority of that list above would not be missed tomorrow, while unfortunately other regular first team players have, so far performed way below what they can.
Some have said complacency had set-in after the 'Invincible', then double-treble seasons and I can understand that to a point, but I can't understand the persistence with the sideways passing, slow play and lack of urgency and tempo - every single game - giving opponents encouragement, time and space to nullify our attack.
BR (like the rest of us) was obviously disappointed after the 'window' and the CL exit; but he has seemed to have also lost a lot of the enthusiasm and motivation that got us this far?
However, absolutely no point dwelling on somethings that can't be reversed, addressed, or improved until the new year.
I have mentioned before, the staleness in tactics, the playing of off-form players and our very poor dead-ball choices and delivery and these things should be hammered home in training as clearly the back-room staff and players need to get back to basics, fast.
The confidence and consistency will only return with hard work.

Morgan's only just signed! I'm not happy how things are going but give players a chance at least.

Morgan may have just signed fair enough, is he a player that can drive us on? I’m no sure but your right he deserves a chance. That’s one player out the list I’ve mentioned. The point I’m making is we’re definitely short in certain areas which everyone including Brendan knows but the amount of dead wood at the club right now is frightening and we cannot continue to stock pile players that aren’t fit to wear the jersey. The majority of that list I posted above need shipped out.
