Has anybody on this website ever actually seen Neil Danns play? I hadn't ever heard of him until he was in the papers a couple of weeks ago.
Kevbhoy

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Yes he's got a good engine on him, quite quick, not the best midfielder you'll ever see but a grafter, will do well in Scotland I think

DANN'S SIGNS UP
First Signing Arrives At Ibrox

Rangers last night completed a stunning swoop from under the noses of Celtic for Crystal Palace star Neil Danns.
Record Sport can reveal the 28-year-old midfielder has signed a 3 year deal with the Gers and becomes the first signing of the Ally McCoist and Craig Whyte era.
And while new Ibrox Director of Football Gordon Smith was finalising the move late last night, Ally McCoist's other top target Carlos Cuellar was preparing for an emotional return to Ibrox after the two Club's moved closer than ever to agreeing a transfer fee, thought to be in the region of £2.4m.
Cuellar has pleaded with new Villa boss and ex-Ibrox gaffer, Alex McLeish, to sanction the move.
McCoist now hopes to be finally given the go ahead to sign the Spaniard star early next week.
As late as yesterday afternoon Danns was still on Lennon's radar but Celtic had no idea he was set to move to their rivals.
When asked about the Palace ace last week Lennon said: "Danns is a player we've been looking at for some time, he's got a great energy about him and that's always a good attribute to have in your team."
The move will come as a huge boost to Rangers boss Ally McCoist who has been desperate to land targets to bolster his thread-bare squad.
Now Danns has been tied up and Cuellar may soon follow as the crown jewel in McCoist's summer spending spree, further moves are happening behind the scenes to land David Goodwillie, Lee Wallace and former loanee's Vladimir Weiss and Kyle Bartley.
The Ibrox Revolution has officially begun. {Ed007's Note - Ah the old Daily Record, believe what you want out of their "exclusives":

Aye hope ur on here 2morro when theres nothing in the paper

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing about Danns mate, sorry to say but there was a very interesting story in its place (daily record website). Its basically Ally McCoist saying he isn't willing to pay £3m for Cuellar. To be honest I'm sure he would gladly pay it but the Shyte Knight won't loosen the purse strings... AGAIN. I wonder how optimistic you feel about this guy now that he's refused to pay reasonable prices for 3 quality players.

fellow tims. Going by all the rumours we must be signing at least 25 new players, most of which we could never afford. The only new players we will sign will be the 2 or 3 guys who are paraded holding their new shirts aloft! Only then shall we know who is coming.

And I'm 100% certain you're on something pal!
Carzola has an asking pricing in the tens of millions so thinking we could land him is just stupid.

I hope that is true about maloney, he flatters to decive, does two step overs and looses the ball.Also he is injury prone and earns too much money.Irish paddy so much better.

On the 24th June 2011, Cazorla agreed to join Celtic on a 4 year contract for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of 2 million Euros with Freddie Ljungberg going the other way.[9] He will join up with the rest of the first team squad on July 1st for their pre-season trip to Australia.

where do we go from here

Ed, , , i think u make some good points, , , obviously celtic and rangers dont have the money 2 buy the best players around we have 2 use our reputation 2 entice young quality foreigners, , , , and some of them just come here 2 be noticed by teams in the epl and would jump ship for even lower table teams because its more money, , , , , , but thats the way it has always been and always will unless celtic and rangers get bk into the CL and make teams scared of coming 2 parkhead or ibrox and get quality players 2 take notice, , , , , , And as regards to the youth aspect its going 2 b very hard 2 get quality out of the youth system now especially with the sfa scrapping reserve league a mean they r the ones that always go on about getting more young scottish players in the teams yet thay scrap the reserve league, , , , how could doing that possibly benefit the scottish game, , , , , , but as for where do we go from here hopefully the worst is behind us and the officials and some fans have taken a long look at ther selfs and get the finger out and make the new season one of the best in years 2 wipe the memory of last year out of everyones head and move forward because after last year i beleive the only way is up {Ed007's Note - Thanks for your feedback}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Ed007 another topic of conversation how long before the epl bubble bursts from what i can find out the total debt 2.5 billion and there is only a small number of clubs that make money. only starting this because its all quite on the western front big rab by the way {Ed007's Note - You are right Rab. The debts are spiralling, the rich get richer and the poor chase them. Look at Leeds, Newcastle and Blackburn, all clubs that that challenged for the title (Blackburn won it) but at what cost? Once the FFP rules come in there could be a bit of panic at a few big clubs in England}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ffp rules ed007 but wont they hit the top two in spain the hardest when will they are implemented when ever thats happens or is there a time frame big rab by the way {Ed007's Note - Teams Like Mardrid, Barca, Man City and Chelsea need to get their house in order. The FFP start from the next financial year for the clubs - but they are judged over 3 year's accounts so won't actually take effect until 2013}

Agree0 Disagree0

So what chance do you put on the old firm getting into the epl when they need to attract money or would you be againt it on those terms big rab by the way {Ed007's Note - I honestly can't see CFC or Rangers getting into the EPL. The FFP rules only apply to playing in European competition, but I would say there will be loopholes found till the "big" clubs meet the criteria}

An England international who couldn't hit a barn door last year. He scored 5 league goals in almost 30 league games and beefed up his tally in the cup against diddy teams. And he only has 7 England caps and, surprise surprise, no goals.

Our teams better because football is a sport thats supposed to entertain fans.celtics football was entertaining last season.rangers were their usual boring selves.the pen that never was a pen v celtic at celtic park.3 players sent off and as many pens in one match v d.utd.yes, we too get dubious decisions in our favour, but never in crucial games.only when we, re stuffing teams by a few goals.no way celts were ever going to win league in walt disneys last season.scottish football ios corrupt, and biased.always has been.always will be.

Been watching Juarez playing for Mexico and he does not put a foot wrong. Just cant understand how he cant get in the team.Surley he could do a job for us ?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

He's a quality player and was easily our best player pre-season last year, or at least he had everyone raving (to the point of speculation of an immediate transfer to Arsenal before the season even began).

I think he had a falling out with Lennon concerning conduct, which seemed to coincide with his international ban for the stripper incident with the Mexican national team. After that became public knowledge he started to fall down the pecking order, behind the main midfield but even the likes of Richie Towell (who I seem to remember he brought on in a game to do what Juarez would've done), and James Forrest.

I'd like to think we could keep him another season and give him a decent run in the team. Unfortunately I don't see it happening.

In the Herald - he wants 35% rise or he's off.

its funny when the papers mention something like whiakker rejecting deal hes a rat and jumps ship but when they talk about Mjalby its bulls**t come on guys their is no loyalty in football greed has taken over ambition when rangers and celtic cant attract players from the relagation zone of the premier ship or the championship it proves these players have no ambition take Conway for instance relegation battle with Cardif or CL with rangers. Money talks and its just a fact of life the old firm dont have enough of it. even high profile players will move to the likes of sunderland or newcastle than the OF to keep their wallets nice and fat

I was gutted to see newcastle turned down our offer for Fosster, but Lenny must know something if he isn't giving up. I think big Fraser will ask for a transfer to Celtic, as there is a 50/50 chance he could be sitting on the bench next season. He might even be sent out on loan to a championship side again, so he will be wondering what he has to do, to break into the newcastle team. The main thing against him in all of this, is time.We need a goaly now, so i hope Fraser opens his mouth, and say's he wants to play for Celtic!.

Forster never filled me with much confidence and for 2mil I think we could find a better goalie anyway. I think with a keeper who has a good comand of the box someone like Majstoravic could be better, there was just too much indecision with Forster.
