Hi Ed, is there any way of finding out actually how many free tickets chuckles has actually given away this season? be very interested to know as i'm sure a lot of us would considering there spouting off about high attendances.. HH Goreybhoy {Ed007's Note - No Gorey unless someone inside Ibrox lets it out, perhaps it could be a new mission for 'the enemy within'.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I know from a cousin of mine that he's had free tkts 4 times this season after attending murray pk to watch his nephew play. L1888

Cheers Ed, I have read i'm sure on a couple of occasion's that past season ticket holders were getting freebies to entice them back ok, would love to know, but hey one of those mysteries I suppose,, Goreybhoy

Is Bahrudin Atajic any good? I've heard a lot of good things about him but don't watch the under 20s. We've had a bid rejected for Jaun Agudelo, who's goal scoring record in the MLS is terrible. They are a similar age, is Atajic good enough to come into the first team instead of buying Agudelo?

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Seems to score good goals (from what I read) signed him up to a new contract, so must see some potential in the lad, would like to see more of him too! Ed, you know any inside knowledge on the matter? {Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything new since he left the UK for the USA training camp. Sorry for the cut & paste:

12 Jan 2013 12:17:01
{Ed007's Note - Chivas are still saying the player is not for sale Daz and he flew out to LA from London last Saturday. The transfer system in the US makes it difficult to even guess at a transfer fee, sorry. The registrations are held by the MLS and transfers are negotiated with them - except under certain circumstances (the drafts etc.) NY Red Bulls are also due a percentage of any fee received for Agudelo.}

Evening ed and all. A few days ago I read an article about how naming the stadium could bring in up to 4million a year I think that if this is the case we should be considering this idea! It's added revenue that would help reducing the debt and help with such things like stadium upgrades or even wages . Ed do you think that 4m a year is a realistic sum?

SOS Bhoy {Ed007's Note - I would be delighted if we could get a deal at £4 million a year. As we are currently a CL team I would certainly be looking for £2.5 - 3 million a season and extra payments dependant on the club's on-field success.
As I said the other day I would prefer us to make sure it is a long term deal (say £30 million over 10 years) rather than a short term one, (say £4 million per season for 3-5 years). If the stadium name is changing every few years it becomes tacky IMO, maintaining the club's image has to be paramount in any deal.}

Hi Ed,

What is the deal with Ki ?

Are we due more money for him in the summer, staying up appearances, cup wins etc ?

As if it is, it will be a good bit business !!

Jason {Ed007's Note - I honestly don't know Jason, sorry.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

No probs, I had in my head I read that if they stay up and depending on appearances it would rise to £7m

chuckles the owner of the biggest and best supported club in scotland { 468, 977 home gates } definitely stated that the the rangers would have a better set of accounts this year than celtic { 830, 696 home gates } in financial terms that's about £6m vs £21m . that was a couple of months ago, now he states there will be no profit this year . £22m share issue . cancelled out with cl money and sale of ki . why do the the rangers followers believe anything this man says . I wouldn't believe him if he told me sh1te was brown .. shammy

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Charles Green.Having raised, we keep being told, over £22m in his much vaunted share issue has came up with another fantastic scheme to raise money.For the sum of 99 PENCE! fans of the The rangers can see his 25 minute interview with some or other ibrox lackey.In this he details the potential selling of the stadium naming rights, how close the deal is and why it would be a good thing for him, sorry, The rangers if it happens.He also claims to be at The rangers for "the long haul" and he has been approached by three other clubs because of his sterling work at The rangers.The expansion of the stadium was also on his radar, but laughably his desire not only to move The rangers forward but Scottish football as well! He also wants to leave all rifts and fall outs from the past in the past and gives his views on reconstruction.
He also talks about turning The rangers into a profit making wealthy sporting institution again.Shirt sponsors and kit suppliers will be announced in the next ten days, waiting for that one chuck, as he "edges closer" to a deal. But here's the kicker. He is planning a "warts and all" book about his ibrox tenure to date.Ghosted by..can you guess? Yup Jabba, no stone will be left unturned. Will the cash from the book be for the ibrox coffers chuck or your well padded pension fund? From charging 99 PENCE! for them to see an interview, which will be on youtube soon enough, to a book it seems chuck is still fleecing the fans. After what has happened to them in recent times you might think some hard questions would be heading chucks way? Nah, as long as he stirs the hate filled pot and plays to his gallery some people swallow anything. Just wait for the orange strip.........green jhedi

Completely agree with you, he is irreplaceable. that's why we must get £12-15mil at least for him. If Man Utd are willing to pay £15mil for an unproven championship player then they may even pay nearer £20mil for a player who dominated Xavi AND Iniesta in the Champions League. Best Celtic player since Larsson by a mile

So as if the world wasn't bad enough already. Dundee Utd fans plan to wear Craig White masks to the game against Rangers 5088.

Ibrox fans chief John McMillan said: "I was anticipating the United supporters doing something but I didn't think they would stoop to this.

(me either, i'm shocked)

It's out of order and Dundee United as a club should do all they can to prevent their fans from carrying this threat through.
(couldn't agree more - down with that sort of thing)

This game is already raised tensions and I fear any move to mock our support could have serious consequences."

(ok then what a bunch of utter tossers! Call the cops!) pea

Believable4 Unbelievable3

But you won't have any fans their as you are all boycotting the game so no harm done.

ED007, Green Jhedi this baiting of Mrs E must CEASE immediately. Our Mrs E as we all know is more than capable of fighting her own corner, but she has two champions in her corner, Wee Pat and me.
I too love the Sunday Post and their so useful products. OOR Wullie and the Broons are Pat's favourites. We all know ED007 has a penchant for the Krankies and often asks Moneypenny to dress up as Maw Broon with him in his schoolboy shorts and "spank him"
As for Green Jhedi well his "PC Murdoch" impersonations are admired by everyone (except wee Pat of course)
Anyway I digress, please leave Mrs E alone or you will feel the wrath of a verbal assault from Pat (you may not understand it) but you will get laldy from him.
As for me I give fair warning I will post 200 Christmas Cracker jokes each and every hour...Timalloy {Ed007's Note - I would expect nothing less than all the old folk to stick together, it's nice that you are all looking out for each other in your twilight years.}

So the The rangers fans groups are up in arms over Dundee Utd fans plans to wear Agent Whyte masks at their cup clash.Fearing it might cause a riot they are demanding they think again about this, lets be honest, wind up.I suppose we will get the old cries of putting the boot in or we have suffered enough etc.Good to see the old triumphalist attitude that got them into all this bother is flourishing and they still think, as a club in the bottom tier of Scottish football, they think they can demand pretty much anything they want.One question.What do these fan groups think they will walk into in the first game against us? I would imagine the Green Brigade are working on that as we speak! What a laughable bunch they are............green jhedi

Hooper, wanyama (anyone) leaving.... I'm in two minds...
First - in our little league, low tv revenue, what is the best we can hope for. Title, cup(s), qualification for europe.
Can we acheive that without 88 & 67 - yeah.
Keep them, will we get to join a better league - pipedream - so probably not.

Champ League - I remember being delighted that we qualified for CL Groups. Should we - yeah but after last few years I wanst hopeful so in my opinion we over acheived by getting to Group Stages (nervermind finishing Second/Barca result) So honestly I am just going to enjoy the Juve games win loose or draw - with or without any particular players.
To me Barca/Juve games are all about defending. Stop them creating and being able to take the one or two chances we get over 180 minutes.

Business - nevermind loosing 88&67, I wouldn't be surprised if Lawwell got head hunted by EPL team.
Was anyone sad when Ki left (substitute Ki for DiCanio/VanHoojdonk/Dalgleish/.......)
My final thoughts are that Lawwell and Lennon are doing a great job with the resources they have. The team has a superb balance, yeah we bring in a few duds - but this is recognised and they are loaned back out - its trail(ist) and error - its the only way we can operate i'm sad to say.
So we have to trust what they do will be in the best interests of the club.
Its more about the whole style of play and its inevitable we will loose some good players.
At this moment in time I would be more upset if we lost Sammy/Brown/Mulgrew/Mathews that 88/67.
16 million for 88 & 67 = overall a good deal
in my humble opinion
P

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Pretty much on the money for me mate.Hoops and Big Vic were always going to be the ones that attracted interest, as will Matthews, Ledley and Forster as their contracts run down, but this is the way we operate now.On your point about the Juve game, spot on, it's vital we take any chance we get, start well, and stay strong. I remember when Dalgleish was sold, I thought it was a disaster, till my Dad pointed out he thought the same when Paddy Crerand went! As for Mr Lawwell, the fact he is a Celtic fan and is very highly paid should see him here for the long term I think. We are at the start of this transformation of the way our club operate, and so far it seems to be going to plan...........green jhedi

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ooh, tough one Tim! I see Chuckie told the meeting of the The rangers supporters groups last night no profit will be made this season.How very interesting.This would surely mean with no season book price rise available, not even he would have the cheek to ask that for the same poor product, costs will have to be cut somewhere.You would think these fan groups would be hearing alarm bells and asking questions..........green jhedi

Players come and go, good luck to them. One man I would realy hate to lose is Neil lennon. I have no doubt clubs are looking at him and recognising the work he and his staff are doing here.Really hope he's here for a long long time. Kians Da.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

On tv that we will listen to offers over £8m for Hooper, a player with cl experience, yet Crystal Palace to get £15m from man united for a relatively unknown????????????
If we manage to unearth any more gems, we may need to look at getting them tied up on longer terms a wee bit quicker, not to hamper anyones career progress but just to maxamise our investments. From a business point of view, few other clubs could offer upcoming young stars this level of exposure while pocketing some medals in the process.

chasaboy

Agree2 Disagree0

Spot on with the Zaha price.Sadly our football is looked on as very low level, despite our record in European competition against English teams for years, and is still seen as some kind of risk.As for Hooper, do the English think our goals are bigger up here? I would back him, even in a mid level EPL team, to score twenty a season.........green jhedi

Agree2 Disagree0

I know our league is looked down on, but we must be getting something right because as the EPL scouts are never away. I just think that if we can`t demand top dollar when we have people on reasonably lengthy contracts, we have absolutely no chance as they wind down.

chasaboy

Agree1 Disagree0

@3; You just hit the nail right on the head chasa.The winding down of the contract is the problem, that's when the shrewd buyers start circling. Big Vic is different he has, I think, three years left.If the player really wants to go he must waive his contract pay off, that lowers the fee but saves the club plenty............green jhedi

Ed, a local newspaper in Barcelona claiming Big Fraser could be a candidate to replace Valdez . I wouldn't disagree with that I think he is that good . What kind of valuation do you think we have on him ?

CelticMatt {Ed007's Note - The problem with his contract during negotiations was that his agent wanted a £4 million release clause in it. As far as I am aware it wasn't included. For a guess I would say that we would ask for £6+ million.
I don't really see Barca being in for him, they have a GK in mind to replace Valdes, possibly a German.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I thought they might go for him, I would put him in the same money as wanyama at 15 mill. He is in England squad and looks like future #1 and has shown his class with us but also against European clubs in cl. {Ed007's Note - So you seriously think he should be the third most expensive GK ever? It's not Football Manager or FIFA we are talking about here.}

Agree3 Disagree1

6-8 million would be the righ price for big Herman. Would be good business for Celtic at that aswell. He won't be going to Barca though.

Agree1 Disagree1

His chances of future englas #1 are low when playing in the spl. Hart plays for the epl champs and is about 25? While jack butland is hailed the next best thing and is only 19 and also beong chased by epl teams.

Agree1 Disagree0

This is post 2, I didn't know that would mean he would be the 3rd most expensive ever(u mean at Celtic or in all of football) cause that dosent sound right. Don't play FIFA or football manager but would like to get a FIFA game lol. I just think that's his worth with how he has been going on against the big clubs and the big saves he makes for us. {Ed007's Note - Off the top of my head he would be the 3rd/4th most expensive GK in footballing history, behind Buffon, De Gea and around the same as Neuer (it is not exactly clear how much Bayern Munich paid for him).

Agree0 Disagree1

Gordon was 9 million so it's not that daft. What happened to a player is only worth what a club is willing to pay?
