Looked at a bit of the Manchester United match today and I can understand why LVG would want Blackett back .
Blackett struggled in the Celtic defence but the Utd defence maybe even weaker .

I wish everyone a happy christmas and a good new year, I wish Ronnie a sucessful end to the season, but I wish he would stop giving interviews to the press, until the team starts performing on the field.

Aindoh A happy Christmas to you and yours, fortunately, or unfortunately Celtic are obliged to provide someone for media press conferences by the SPL . I have reservations sometimes, that RD is too nice to the low down . That represent the SMSM but apart from that he is the best person at the club to host these press conferences.

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year when it comes.

Now, to my point.

I've seen a few say before that being in a one horse race is hindering us for our CL Qualification aspirations a few times. I even read a Ronny article in which he said our situation is unique in that sense. Utter nonsense, you only have to look at Croatia and Greece. Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos are the main teams in both those leagues and they both walk them every year whilst also more often than not competing in the CL Group Stage season after season, especially Olympiacos of Greece who have yet to draw or lose a game this season and have won 15/15, that's as much a one horse race league as you'll get so it doesn't wash.

24 Dec 2015 18:58:45
Well done Celtic for ever, selective facts again, how many Football Associations are there in Europe, so two would be rather unique and Deila would be talking complete sense .

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Olympiakos are at the centre of a major match-rigging investigation.}

25 Dec 2015 11:16:04
😀😄😊😍🙂😅. Ed0007 that's fantastic, of all the leagues in Europe two are picked out as one horse races . One of these the special or exceptional one we now hear is up to their eyes in match fixing . Congratulations Celticforever and I hope you have a very happy Christmas and a really proper fact filled New Year .

Yes it is ME actually back posting again (will be on here Boxing Day with my tips, jokes and more moans about Deila, much to the disappointment of some on here, and also seeing the disappointment on Mrs T's face as she had to put insurance docs back in the drawer lol)
So for today I thought I would hand out some early Christmas presents.
To ED007 A signed photo of his hero Craig Gordon
To John Park A book on Scouting
To Wee Pat, from my old monopoly game a "get out of jail free card"
To the Sevco fans, also from my monopoly game all the monopoly money as this is the only cash their club will ever see
To Mr King a dvd of LIAR LIAR
To Mr Lawwell a new job AWAY from Celtic
To Mr Desmond a sale of his shares to ANYONE
Finally to the greatest fans in the world Celtic, A BLANK CHEQUE BOOK to sign any player we want
Everyone have a Happy and a Healthy Christmas.

I think it's simple for anyone to see. Anyone not at CP that is, that this transfer window is the most important one for years.

The almost fanatical race to mediocrity has seen us become, not a CL team, but rather a bottom of a EL group with three points.

Our defence is an embarressing shambles. Our midfield has a compulsion to pass the ball sideways or mire often back. We have nobody who can consistently take a man on and beat him to open up space. We also have too many players of that ilk.

Ronnie has signed 19 players and you would be lucky to field a fives team out if them.

Our youth set up is the same as it has been fire decades, shite. Take a look at all our best teams from the last 20 years and count the number of regular first team picks came through our ranks. The progression of our young players is pathetic, totally pathetic.

Any young player who has come into and stayed in our team, overwhelmingly come from other clubs. Lennoxtown, as a production line for home grown talent has been an abject failure. Truly pitiful.

We have seen Ronnie's failure to see what drugs in the street know that Ambrose should be working somewhere else. If we are saying there is not a defender at the club better than Ambrose then the players who are need to seriously consider a new career path. Ambrose has cost us millions. His pathetic, recurring balls ups, have drained the team of confidence and guaranteed any opponent team a shoe in for a goal.

The blame for this lies with Ronnie. Anybody with pretensions to be a too cuach while picking Ambrose us kidding themselves on. We now have Boyata, another weak link. So, the sorry arsed defence will continue to be a farce.

I sense a feeling of acceptance of our new position as a bottom of a EL group team for the simple reason the board don't give an eff. Our policy of waiting until we qualify for the CL before we buy has been such a balls up it makes you weep.

This season is over for excitement. There is nothing to look forward to without European football. Worse, without hope. Who actually believes we will spend the mibey to get the players we need? Who actually trusts Ronnie to stop buying fannies by the dozen? Who actually believes any defence with our current crop, can keep euro opposition at bay? If you do your probably either steaming or insane.

There is talk of buying Souter. He is 19, again raising the question of wtf is happening at Lennoxtown?

The bottom line us we produce players for the Dundees of this world and we buy their better players as we can't produce our own to hold down a place in the team. The ones that get in are no better than no bad. Some not even hear that.

So, another transfer window bekons. Mire names than you would find in a phone book banded about. We seem to be allowing Ronnie to continue leading us on our downward trajectionary. Lawell will escape again but fir me he us the main problem. He thinks he can sell our best, replace them
With bawbags, spend eff aw and expect us to make the CL. Truly astounding stupidity. How he can take a bonus fir winning this shite league is eye wateringly embarressing. His bonus should be given only if CL qualification is achieved.

We are now a pathetic laughing stock of a club. An opportunity to put mikes between us and Rabfers has been squanders by complacency and horrendously played judgement. We are just a bit less Shute than the gers and we had better hope they gave no mibey because you would not need a fortune to overtake our team of mediocre pish.

Over to you Lawell, Ronnie is a dreamer, a dreamer who couldn't see Ambrose would shoot us in the head. Has bought 19 players who gave been rubbish.

Recently he has chucked his nauseating and embarressing roar. Was almost worth being rubbish to see that joke end.

Loan players and fuds will make up the January recruits no doubt and come the summer Ronnie will be telling us he will get it right next year.

From a team that could put up a fight in the CL, to a team of useless, mediocre fuds with a defence that makes you feel physically sick everytime we play.

Ronnie talks of the treble as if we really give a running F about that. Make the team capable of qualifying for the CL and that's a given. We are now a team who you wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't qualify for the EL. Totally rubbish, easily beaten in Europe and a defence guaranteed to keep us that way.

I wonder if Desmond will burst a Tenner a buy us a couple if class players. Shipping out a dozen duds from the squad wouldn't hurt us either.

Don't get your hopes up troops. We have been here before and unless there is a major shift it will be the same old same old unacceptable bolloks from a board and a manager who just don't have it.

It's the Celtic way.

Ho ho, effin ho.

Merry Christmas to you too!

Yeah I agree this January will tell us a lot. With no European football for the rest of the season what kind of players can we expect to attract never mind sign? What we need to do is show some serious intentions of building a team capable of getting us through the qualifiers and into the champions league or europa league. Not as also runs but at least to compete.

I can't see it happening though. We'll maybe get one or two pre contracts and probably nobody of any note.

On the bright side I hear Ryan Christie has been recalled.

I am trying to remember when a week before a transfer window started that most fans haven't thought that the forth coming transfer window wouldn't be the most important . They are always the most important .
Personally I am hoping for one or two reasonably good players in and the like of
Derk, Stokes, Mulgrew and Commmons out.

26 Dec 2015 14:25:54
The point I'm making is if we get a team capable of qualifying for the CL the treble should be easier.

And to be honest, winning a treble with a shite team, in a shite league, is not my idea of where we want to be.

As for the importance of this window?

We finished bottom if the EL group without a win. how far do we need to plunge?
