What areas do people think Rodgers plans on filling with his two "quality" signings that will help us push on in Europe? I think a winger/ forward to replace Roberts will be the priority (unless we can keep him) . Still think Onyekuru would be the ideal signing. Also think we'll go for an attacking midfielder who can pick a pass. Think we are sorted defensively.

Think we need another quality CB and quality striker to back up the 2 we have and if paddy goes a wide man with pace.

I think a new RB, a top drawer No.10, and think Brendan will be looking to keep Roberts. That will be the priority buisness this summer I feel. Looking forward to this transfer window as Brendan hasn't signed a four year deal without the promise of significant investment from the board to guarentee Champions League qualification every year and 10 in a row.

Certainly think we'll be after an attacking midfielder of some sort.

Mally I know what your saying and I have seen the ed post similar but I don't think a quality forward would come and play third fiddle , I think Brendan will be looking for a wide player he can rotate with Forrest and be used through the middle as an auxiliary centre forward in an emergency.

That's what I'm thinking fab. A wing forward, as well as a CAM. I think BR said he was after 3 quality players did he not? Either a CB or a Keeper for me then.

Agree with a replacement for paddy and a quality attackin midfielder. but got to disagree that we're sorted defensively! We need a top class centre half IMO. its obvious Brendan doesn't rate Erik and there's no way boyata is the answer, not by a long shot! And as much as I like him and he's been great for us I think lustig is a liability at a higher level! Ok for Scottish league but we need better for Europe!

Think Lustig would make descent centre half tall quick for a centre good on the ball.

How much would it cost to get a better player than Boyata on current form? I get why people have reservations about him because he was a bombscare last year but he's been immense since he came in after the winter break. We've barely conceeded a goal when he's been on the park. Quick, strong, good in the air and in the tackle, positioning and ability on the ball improving all the time. I don't think there's many better centre halfs out there just now who we could afford.

Boyatta got to remember he's a defender first and foremost, don't try to be creative just clear your lines, if there's any doubt in his mind don't overthink it just belt it up the park, a wee bit scary at times.

ED007 not Celtic related but football related. I remember you saying you wanted Pocchachino (spelling) as our manager, what do you think of his performances in last 2 seasons?
I agree he is a very good coach, but I do not think he has either a winning mentality or the mental strength to manage a team that can win big trophies. His remarks after the Chelsea game, if I was a Spurs fan I would be raging, he just seemed to accept defeat too easily, and there is no way Spurs will overtake Chelsea for the EPL.
In my opinion his teams will never win the EPL, maybe a league cup, if lucky but no major trophy.

{Ed007's Note - There's plenty of good managers out there that will never win the EPL and I'd say Brendan Rodgers will be one of them. Last season Pochettino lead Spurs to their highest league finish since 1989/90 and if they finish 2nd this year that's their highest finish since '62-'63. They play good football and have the best goal difference in the EPL - 2nd highest scorers and the meanest defence - and a lot of Spurs fans are over the moon to see their club back to being top dogs in North London.
Southampton are also still reaping the rewards of the work he done behind the scenes there as well.
Pochettino's still relatively young at 45 so he has plenty of time to learn and progress his career which will no doubt include managing either Barcelona or Real Madrid at some point.
I'd take Pochettino over the likes of Guardiola all day every day, the Spurs manager has got his team sitting 2nd in the league without spending anywhere near the money Utd or City have spent. I wouldn't completely write off Spurs chances of winning the league just yet but it would be a big ask.}

I think he's a really good manager as well, if he can keep his big players and add one or 2 they will be challenging again for the epl for as long as he's there.

spot on Ed. Spurs are playing some really good football and their stats and league position show what this guy has done on a relatively small budget.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Exactly. Finishing above teams like Arsenal and the 2 Manchester teams would be a great season for Spurs.}

Was discussing exactly this the other day I think he is a great manager.
I think he has a great team and its going to be very difficult to improve, cos if u go thro the team it will be very difficult to improve a position without spending 40-50m on a player.
Goalie maybe but they have a strong defense, midfield with Vic and Dembelle are superb and try and replace Delle Ali and Kane its near impossible.
I would stick with what he got they are still improving and they will be there or thereabouts this and next season.
Their only concern is the others will be spending 100s of millions.

Watched - and enjoyed - the highlights again this morning and how we only scored two goals against them is incredible?
The control, composure and class was there for all to see and everyone in green and white hoops played their part - with starring roles for Roberts, McGregor, KT and Scott Brown back to his best.
Have seen Collum having worse games, but he did seem to go out of his way to keep the red card in his pocket at least twice for dangerous and vicious tackles. However, as both TV commentators on sly and bbc mentioned we should be very grateful to Mr Robertson (the spare prick at the wedding) for awarding us a penalty - and doing his job properly for once.
Well played Celts; on yet another fantastic performance in a momentous season and I just love the way BR celebrates a goal btw.

Well according to wee biff Ferguson in his column today the first goal was a punt up the park. no a great run from dembele and touch or a great long ball by lustig with a world class finish messy would b proud of it was a punt deary me.

I haven't enjoyed my trips to Hampden these last few years but I'm loving them this season.
The only thing their fans got excited about yesterday was an injury to Dembele, that just shows how dominant we were. There looks a big gulf in quality between the teams and I hope it goes on and on.
Incidentally, what was that business at the kick off. It looked like we went up to the centre circle to presumably pay a tribute to Ugo Ehiogu, but with both teams lined up, Miller looked as if he was trying to take the kick off by himself, what an idiot.

sean i've been watching celtic playing that mob for 40 odd years, and that probably was the most one sided game i've seen against both incarnations of their team.
