Ed, have you seen the news on Footyheadlines about the 2 new away tops? The away top will be black and the third will be SHOCKING PINK. Thought the kits would have had more of a Lisbon feel to the designs being the 50th anniversary season.

{Ed007's Note - I have not mate, I'm not long back home.}

Hopefully the black will have some kind of design rather than just all black. And hopefully we never wear the pink beast lol.

Given the dire performances previous and performance games, is it the case that we are going to JUST fall over the winning line and win the league, or that Aberdeen will also fall and hand us the league.?
Whether you backed RD or not ( and I did ) this has not worked for both parties, however when Rd leaves WE will only be interested in our team, results / performances, so having said that PL needs to moves this on with a matter of urgency .
If the power brokers got the players in then they can do the work to move a great many on as they are not up to the stature/ caliber we expect.
Within a few weeks the season tickets will be out and again the Board are expecting us to spend our hard earned cash,

So hear is a message to PL, you are paid handsomely for you lofty position, how about earning that pay and in return give US and OUR club something to make us believe we should spend OUR cash.

Rant over.

24 Apr 2016 20:22:25
What really annoys me is that we are "faithful through and through" and the players are showing us fack all right now. Their total disrespect for RD during his term becomes more revealed every day. Their total disrespect and Alf preservation is sickening.

We need a massive clear out, Tierney and Eric only survivors for me. Before that we need a manager who can stand up command respect - a general. I haven't heard a name yet that can do this. Some of the foreign coaches mentioned are quality but the culture at the club won't permit that style. Any new manager must qualify for champ league, win the treble and unite the fans, or face the RD treatment. The board must match this with financial ambition.

For me the only person who can come close to this is Martin oneill. Failing that no nonesense managers like Hiddink or Avram Grant would be top of my list.

24 Apr 2016 22:12:01
So you wouldn't keep Griffiths?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2016 02:27:29
We would be very foolish not keeping Griffiths and if we want to have any chance of winning the league next season I suggest we need to keep many more, even if we are not particularly fond of them . I doubt if you could win the league with 8/ 9 players without experience of playing for the club for at least for a year previous.

Just a quick question and I'm probably being a bit naive with this one but seeing more and more comments regarding John Kennedy getting as much stick as John Collins and I can't see where that's coming from? Now I fully understand that he's part of the backroom team that's left us, in part, in the position we are in but I fail to see how you could chastise Kennedy in the same manner as John Collins?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

John Kennedy is the defence coach. do i have to go on.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Apr 2016 02:30:14
I wonder is John Kennedy a good defence coach . Maybe the team didn't listen to him all season because some were laughing at our defence, yet we have the best defensive record in the SPL.

Was great to see the little magician Lubo at Celtic park today could have done with him on the pitch playing. I don't think I have ever experienced an atmosphere like that today was a strange one even the green brigade didn't even sing one song. Did anyone else notice griffiths kicking the ball into that end when he scored and what there thoughts where on it?

I have said before, I only post when I have something worthwhile to contribute, so here goes. PL whilst not everyone's cup of tea has kept this ship on a (somewhat wobbly) course in the last few years. For anyone that thinks they could do better. please submit your cv. I am NO LOVER of balance sheets etc and want trophies like the next bhoy/ ghirl but let's look at the big picture. We are in a SMASHIN position finacially, that other clubs can only dream of. I KNOW we should have had another couple of trebles under our belt. but let's all just enjoy 5 in a row, take stock, and get behind the new man!

How long are we going to put up with this dross.
Someone posted a little while ago that the proof of insanity was do the same thing over and over and watching it fail. Well that is what we saw today only gordon griffiths tieney get pass marks today. Mulgrew and sviatchenko get average marks but everyone else needs to look at why they are at celtic. Drop the bloody lot and play the youngsters at least they would run and chase. Lawell better make changes soon or he can forget about selling any tickets for next season.

I'm really depressed at seeing all the has beens and never will bes who are linked just now just because of this celtic minded pish .

The obvious effect of a manager announcing his imminent departure has been proven with many other clubs over the years and although it's not time for panic-stations just yet - there is no doubt, that this has got to be one of the most unsatisfactory and painful seasons for many a year.
Of course there was going to be a 'hangover' from the Sevco game, but Aberdeen gave us a wee lift and that's the second time in a few weeks that we have failed to beat Ross County at home after our rivals handed us the initiative.
The atmosphere and apathy all around the club is so negative that even winning the title, will be seen as a very hollow victory, as the task awaiting the new boss looks more and more daunting every week, with the huge assembly of mediocrity at our great club.
RD is a dead-man-walking and the majority of these players should be offloaded as well as they have not done enough to earn the respect and support of the fans who pinned their trust in them, week-in, week-out in the hope that they would play to their potential as often as possible and deliver.

Sorting Celtic FC out is not a simple challenge as the club has been mismanaged for too long. Part of the boards terms of reference is to manage the finances. Paying salaries for 34 senior players is misuse and an overburden on funds, this is a result of buying lots of cheap players who are not fit for purpose. This money could be channeled elsewhere, I. e. to attract better player. Management must offload those who do not fit the Celtic jersey (a la Jock Stein) , trim the playing staff down to a reasonable number (e. g. 22) that a new Manger and the coaching staff can manage. An EGM should be called with the agenda Being a detailed review of the past performance of the Board.
Send RD home with immediate effect, it would be embarrassing to see him receive the League Flag and break open the bubbly.

24 Apr 2016 18:15:24
New Manager? Listen, as in any workplace it's CLEAR that there are divisions and cliques within Celtic Park. Sorting this is easier said than done. For me, sort this out to begin with. lay rules and foundations and then the talent will start to flourish. For me there is only one man on the horizon BIG enough, BOLD enough, EXPERIENCED enough and ARTICULATE enough for the task in hand. Roy Keane. This time. I think the support would buy into it. MAKE IT HAPPEN, PETER!

Agree2 Disagree2

24 Apr 2016 18:47:29
Best way to sort a clique is to get rid of them, you don't need a "hard man" ie keane who I think would create more problems. Ireland, man utd, come to mind as examples.

24 Apr 2016 19:43:45
Guys. 'Best way to sort a clique is to get rid of them. ' I AGREE. My point being it's easier said than done. I didn't ever say we need a HARD MAN. We need a man that will command respect! I think RK will do that. Lenny has had his time and the fact that he was fishing for the job whilst playing golf HOURS after RD handed in his notice, for me, speaks volumes. No class. Forget a foreign manager. We NEED someone to hit the ground running. I am struggling to think of a better candidate.

I said it last week unless someone takes him aside and drums it into him when to pass, when to on the outside etc . he's going to cost us games in much the same way as dicanio did, both have an abundance off talent but always want to take extra man on or make wrong desicions.

Well brown and bitton certainly didn't make a difference. Ronny has become toxic with his tactics he should go now as he can't change our formation or performance. I don't care if it's Collins Kennedy or whoever till end of season they can't produce any worse performances than we are getting.

ED007 reports online saying Celtic have denied contacting Gus Hiddink, yes I know his salary would be astronimical but we can dream, what are your thoughts on him even taking up a Director of Football role with a young up and coming manager, this could be the way forward.

]

24 Apr 2016 16:26:31
In my opinion you only need a director of football if you appoint a head coach, i think we require a good Manager that appoints his own staff and sounds out his own signing targets. I know its old school but better to have one chief in our current state. However i agree Hiddink would make a fantastic DoF if that's the way the board choose to go. If they did, i'd rather MOn as DoF with RK as the head coach.

Just read this statement from Deila. He's talking in defence of Lawell but I think it's indicitive of what went wrong for Ronny:

"Consistency is unbelievably important and he's been successfull all the time. We've had trouble getting into the Champions League for the last two years but, again, that can turn around. It's very difficult when everything is a failure when you lose and everything is okay when you win. It's not normal. "

Maybe not normal at Stromgodset Ronny. I think the job was just way too big for him. Way bigger than he thought it would be in terms of pressure and expectation.
I wish him all the best and I hope he finds another club that's better suited. More importantly, I hope we can find a manager that is better suited to our great club and the pressures that come with the job.

Of all the names mentioned so far I'd really like Moyes. I think he'd be hungry to get it right and he'd be here for the long term and bring us the ten. My heart thinks DD is going to dip his pocket though and make Keane an offer he can't refuse. but back on planet Earth, it'll be welcome to the club Malky McKay or Paul Hartley : (

Believable2 Unbelievable5

24 Apr 2016 16:37:05
You would take Hartley or McKay? What exactly have they done? Keane was a wonderful player not as good a manager we would aswell fold out youth set up if we had Keane. Changes take time RD would not have been everyone's cup of tea but atleast his philosophy and youth policy had us heading in the right direction can't see many of the possible managers mentioned taking the time to work with the youths RD was on to a hiding the minute he arrived from the press our own players to loyal to an ex manager who let them away with murder and left for pastures new and our so called best fans in the world listening to phone ins and believing the so called experts and ex players that were all too happy to put the boot in and have there say.

Sometimes if u make a slip especially in defence, u are in dog house for weeks, even known to be a bombscare . However young Roberts made a terrible howler last week and is right back in team . I wouldn't have picked him for today's game at least
Players have to take responsibility at both ends of field . To me Roberts was more interested in scoring a glorious goal rather than just scoring, a wee break would have given him time to reflect on going wrong.

i agree. Most of these players might not be willing to play for deila, but they should be putting in a shift for their paying fans regardless every week. I just hope brown is dropped and Armstrong is given a chance in the CM role.

Agree0 Disagree1

24 Apr 2016 10:49:38
No. I think we will win but narrow win. They can play freely RCFC that is. CFC are unsettled and in transition and so not the right " base " from which to harness confidence.

Thus has been a very patchy season but I hope that the players who are playing well play well so expecting good things from Eric and KT and LG. think he might go with two up top today so CKR playing as well in a formation adjusted to suit two strikers

I will be happy with any win to be honest

CFC do need a major overhaul in terms of players and management but we also need to find a way to come together throughout the whole club from owner to executive management to team management and through fans. The tribute act are aligned and that is like a 12th man

There's already negative banter about managers and the rights and wrongs of any candidate. If we were left to choose one as a fan base ( heaven forbid ) there would be no consensus

I really hope that the PR improves and that we can indeed wipe the slate clean and start again with decent recruitment and moving players on who have suspect attitudes

Inconsistency and complacency killed off the experiment in the end and a very divided fan base didn't / hasn't helped and I'm as culpable as the next fan in that regard.
