I see that other mob are bleating on again about the attendance at Asbestos Park. Not one of them has actually pointed out that a ticket to see them play Montrose was £16-£20 for an adult and around a fiver for the kids. Celtic made a bit of a faux pas yesterday by pricing the Dundee game as if it was an old firm game. Couple this with the September weekend, and the crowd would be guaranteed to be low. It's now time to end this attendance argument.
I did a bit of digging on the net tonight (bit sad and I need to get a life but...) I managed to phantomly buy a ticket for the following clubs; Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Ac and Inter Milan! Albeit, they weren't massive opponents they were playing, but the point is, Even these "giants" can't sell out their stadiums which are governed by their size. I remember one of the biggest gates of our season a few years back was actually against St Johnstone midweek! We live in harsh times and probably ticket prices do affect who can go to football week in week out. What does matter is the quality reflected in the price. Well after more digging (sorry) the typical price for a normal 3rd division game is around the tenner mark, that means the zombie's are already overpricing for their division, but what does that say for us? Well it say's we are roughly three times more expensive to go and watch than a typical 3rd division game, which is probably right. But nearly 30 quid to watch Celtic v Dundee, doesn't sound like value for money. I was at an Everton game a few years back, and noticed they had a two tier ticketing price for the bigger/smaller games. That wouldn't work up here as there isn't much difference between the bigger/smaller games.
I live in the Highlands and it is completely un-realistic for me to travel down for every game, I couldn't afford it cash and time wise (4 hours from Glasgow, and that's not completely within the law! ) But I do try to get to CP at least a couple of times a season as a treat for me and the lad. This get's back to my main point, money's tight and football tends to take a back seat when the heating bill comes through the door, unless you're the super fan from Cardiff earlier, who doesn't eat or pay his bills, so he can FLY up and back for the games!

BigRab

Big Rab to be fair they don't have much else to talk about. Supporting your team is a long term deal, not just when there's a bit of controversy. Where were they all for Ally's first European games last season.

We know Celtic and TRFC have the biggest support in Scotland, its hardly front page news so why they feel the need to bang on about the last couple of weeks attendance is anyone's guess.

They'll be gutted it wasn't the biggest in Britian yesterday considering it was one of the cheapest ~ Mrs E

Agree5 Disagree1

Mrs E they only had 20,000 paying customers at Ibrokes yesterday, Green gave 25,000 tickets to fans on the provisio they brought coats, blankets, anything to cover up all the rust from the tv cameras... LOL Timalloy

whats McColl talking about on bbc sports.
he says hes playing the old firm back-to-back. .H.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

He has the new fifa 13 already

Agree6 Disagree0

The old firm died when Rangers FC, founded in 1872 and incorporated into a company in 1899 failed to deliver a CVA and was put into liquidation.
Typical former Rangers player Rhetoric. But then again they're all former rangers players!

Taco as I expected Sevco won but lost another goal, nice wee return from
my both teams to score coupon.
sadly my handicap bet -3 beat, but only just. Remember next week cup tie
Forres Mechanics lump on both teams to score and also a draw, I am following your idea by having a wee flutter on Forres win at expected big odds. Timalloy ( turf accountant)

get down the Barras and buy up all the Brasso, steel wool, emulsion and
gloss you can find then do a wee deal with Green to bring Ibrokes back to it's former pristine condition (well almost) If Sally says some of his players are rusty also, well that is extra.. LOL Timalloy

I hope this EBT carry on is brought to an end soon. Its embarrassing and an insult to our intelligence the statements Chico keeps coming out with. He has stated the SPL have not reposnded to any letters from their lawyers yet Lord Nimmo Smith has confirmed they have. Where are your lawyers Chico, let them speak if that is the case.

Instead it seems its actually NewCo/OldCo/TRFC/RFC not co-operating at all and spouting rubbish about Kangaroo courts. Why, we all know the 3 QCs involved this is not the case ? Is the evidence against them so overwhelmiing they are now just trying to start daft corrupt and 'we're being picked on' rumours to save face.

This contract that was drawn up stripping titles in return for whatever, was this with Charles Green's knowledge and was he in agreement ?

Supporters groups are banging on about Harper MacLeod etc, the time that had lapsed but not ONE of them have questioned the side letters and the improper registration of players. Its all smoke and mirrors trying to deflect from the real issue of cheating and discredit anything or anyone involved. If they are SO innocent why all this ??

There is a massive storm brewing and the SFA and SPL Are the reason the paper got a document and it does not look good for them so enjoy the time you have with the corrupt SFA nd SPL

Believable2 Unbelievable9

What do you mean, 'enjoy' the time ?

RFC are accused of having improperly registered players and all of a sudden everyone and everything around about them is corrupt...hmmmm interesting ~ Mrs E

It seems a concerted campaign began a few weeks ago to pressurise the panel. There has been no substance to any of it. There is a lot more to all of this. Ask yourself how the quotes from johnstone, McLeish etc. originated. Did the press call them or did they call the press ? It's no surprise the sun are involved, if you can smell sh1t it will be there, toilet accessory that it is. So far all those making public statements against the panel are ebt beneficiaries or cg. They should be glad its not a court of law, they'd be held in contempt. They are desperate.

A massive storm?
wae the sevvies involved,
iz that a massive storm in a d-cup?

Sounds like the S*n group are still at the phone tapping time to send for Tommy Sheridan.

Taco, saw your bets yesterday, and
while my heart says good on you, my
head says Sevco comfortable win.
But as you say bookies are way overpricing
wee teams in a two team contest.
Montrose between 16/1 and 20/1 to
win. It only takes one goal and Sevco
having another bad performance and
you are quids in.
What I am betting on is the both teams
to score markets. On Tuesday QOS were
11/10 to score, so I lumped on £100
to win £110. Today again it is 11/10
both to score, 4/6 not.
I am also betting on handicap market
-3 Sevco is 2/1, which I think they will
comfortably cover. 4-0 I predict.
Watch your bets on Wednesday when
Motherwell come calling, when was the
last time a McCall team put any effort
in at Ibrokes?
Better bet is next week, Forres Mechanics
are top of Highland league and are a
big physical team. I will be betting
again on both teams to score, on a
draw and also on Forres winning.
But Taco I hope you are quids in
today and laughing all the way to
the bank with Sevco's money hail hail

Tbh tim, this is a bet from my heart rather than my head....at those odds and the way things are going though, anything is possible :)

Ally McCoist breaks another record......

He is the first manager to have his team knocked out of every cup available to Scottish teams,
Champions League
Europa League
Scottish Cup
Scottish League Cup
Scottish League Challenge Cup (Ramsdens cup)

Just to top it all off, Super Ally has managed to achieve this record in less than 14 months. A true record breaker.

Jungle Bhoy.
