Ronny Deila says he is not signing any players before the KR game and the main aim is to keep the players we have. Looks like Lawell has started to interfere already.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jeeze. Does Lawwell not get enough stick on sevco sites! We have a HUGE squad Give the guy a chance to look through it. Maybe having a proper coach, and rotating the squad, will result in us being stronger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye, if we play anywhere near our expected standard we should beat this Icelandic team . A new signing or two isn't going to help, if the whole team flops.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said GJ.

Agree0 Disagree0

With these transfer windows, it rarely allows instant signings anyway at the very start of the season unless it is a relatively unknown player.
There is no doubt that the squad will need strengthened and improved and there are sure to be one or two leaving as well; but it may be well into August before we do our serious business and then we can judge.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pukki and maybe Boeriggter are the only players I think that can do a job for celtic under the right management.

Half of the squad we have now are not fit to wear a celtic top

Celtic should try to get the players they need in now to give them time to settle into the squad for the tough and important play offs.

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 What?? Pukki and Tampon are the 2 you pick out are you serious?

Agree0 Disagree0

@bigbhoy. Name half the squad?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd say based on fitness, consistency and off the field issues that Izzy, Ambrose, Boerrigter, Balde, Mouyokolo, Griffiths, Kayal + Forrest out of our 22 or so First Team players aren't good enough to represent the club and/or take us forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

@Tompo88

If you have watched Pukki play you can see that there is a good footballer hidden in him and Boeriggter has done well at his previous clubs. That's why I picked them.

@cmcbhoy

Ambrose, Izaguirre, Forrest, Stokes, Balde, Rogic, Mulgrew, Mouyokolo, Griffiths, Samaras?, Zaluska, Kayal

KR Reykjavik got beat 9-1 over two games last year against Helsinki, and we played very well agaisnt Helsinki and won 4-1, shouldn't be that hard, seen a list of there team and honestly we could/ should play a few kids for this one.

#RonnyLovesIt

Believable0 Unbelievable0

@Belfastbhoy i'm pleased with draw. It would be good to see youth getting a game but I can't see it with Ronny familiarising himself with squad and how they play.

I think worst team we could of got was malmo

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed.Malmo would have been a pretty awkward draw I thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

The draw is ideal apart from the fact that they will have played 12/13 league games and our players will have only played a few friendlies. Still we should win with a couple to spare .

Agree0 Disagree0

They were beaten 4-1 n 2-0 by Dinamo Tbilisi three yrs ago, 7-0 n 2-1 by HJK two yrs ago then 3-1 n 3-1 by Standard Liege last year. We should be taking 6-10 goals off them over two legs!

Agree0 Disagree0

HB football doesn't work like that. If that the case we would win every game in Scotland 3-0 or more.I would happily take 1-0 in all our ties to qualify for CL then worry about performance.This time o year is always a nightmare playin teams who match fit.We should beat them comfortably, then again Spain should qualify, costa rica shudnt win their group, and as the manager said you only need to look at the WC to see shocks. let's not get too ahead of ourselves let's take 1 game at a time after all football is a funny old game lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dear God, how the ambitions and expectations of the Celtic has fallen from grace! Just had a swatch at their record: KR have been beaten in 37 of their 64 games in Europe, conceding 147 goals. In the last 5 yrs they've won 6/20, 2 coming against part-time Glentoran + another 2 against a part-time Faroese mob. They've never made it past the 2nd Q Round of the CL in 6 attempts since 2000, yet we're giving them them this amount of credit n respect?! Anything less than two wins is an embarrassment to our club! Even failing to keep a clean sheet at home is a bit of a riddy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Every team deserves respect HB, its when you take them too lightly the problems set in.Are celtic that good we will never get a shock result against us? I thinknot we don't have to look too far in history to see evidence of this.What I sayin is 1-0 would do me if it gets us to CL, in a few weeks we would even forget who we played once we in with the big boys/bucks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pride and over confidence comes before a fall. We have every right to be cautious and not over confident of beating this Icelandic team. By respecting them, that is management, players and fans I have little doubt we can beat them . One of the few times Jock Stein expressed over confidence was for the European Cup final in 1970 and that turned out rotten .

How to get there
At the time of writing, the cheapest flights would involve flying out on Sunday July 20th, returning on July 24th. Easyjet offer flights from Edinburgh to Keflavik for £244. Flights from Glasgow are considerably more expensive, but if you wanted to make a week of it, you can get flights for £313 via Icelandair.
