Hiya, Forest fan in peace

Its in the press that we have bid £5m for Gary Hooper.

I know he scored plenty of goals for you but the SPL is a poor league and to the standard of our L1 (Yourselves excluded)

Do you think he would cut it in the Championship or even the EPL should he finish up there?

Good luck next season, you won't need it though as you will win the league by about 40 points!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hoopers finishing Is second to none he's a priore goal scorre they score goals everywhere Andy carrol went for 35 million and Hopper scored slot more fiala than he did in the Championship deffoniently do whell web hr gets bk dwn the road m8 guaranteed

Agree0 Disagree0

He will be great in epl and really should be in England squad for yous would actually score more giving the other players that can pass to him. Needs only one chance to score, your epl and lower England leagues glasses need to be taking off for you can't see true talent, no matter what league they play. He is the one that should have went for the carrol money but he would have actually worked

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah? How many of your teams were still playing in th CL when Celtic were still there? With Hoops as our striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no doubt the EPL is better and bigger but accepting all things in proportion and financial reality, Hooper is a natural goal scorer and will score at any level.
He made his name at Scunthorpe so the Championship would be a dawdle for a guy of his calibre.
Celtic have helped develop him and his performances in Europa and Champions league confirm his class.
If you meet the asking price and he is happy to go to you, good luck.

If Lennon's got one more signing up his sleeve before the qualifiers I hope it's a creative midfielder who can dribble at pace, score goals, pass the ball through the eye of a needle and is always looking to go forward and be positive. A Phillipe Coutinho, but for £2million . There must be one out there surely Ed!?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rogic might be the man for that mate
GORDYBHOY44

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont discount Rogic.I think this boy has real talent if used properly.Play him in a forward mid role and he will shine. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Rogic is that man. The boy will blossom in this team. I can't remember the last time he played a game not looking for a forward pass. I know i'm a little biased but i'm so excited we have him. He's a talent.

Melb Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Zactly m8 look at wanyamas first season with us pretty quite something tell me rogics goinie really ahimè this year. Joe bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope Rogic does step up but I think we need a creative left winger as well. Fede Vico, an 18 year old Spaniard, has just left Cordoba for Anderlecht for £1.3million. He would have been ideal!

LM67

Agree0 Disagree0

Commons starts that position and should continue to start it, he is An excellent player, you have a short memory, it was him that
got us into the last 16 remember the penalty. Also rogic will be pushing there aswll. I agree we need a winger for the SPL tho, Sammy will always start a cl game

Was watching a video on YouTube of Wanyama doing an interview on Kenyan TV from a couple of weeks ago. Said there had been contact from premier league clubs, if the deal was good for him and Celtic then he could move. Sadly I can't see us holding on to him.

Ed/everyone this is a very honest question. Did Southampton really bid 10 to 12m for wanyama?

The reason I ask is I know it's just funny season time names & numbers get put into every team at every price. But I have stopped buying the papers since mid April as its just pure lazy and usually tosh, so is it official that Southampton bid for him?

To me it's far to early for Celtic to sell a player at the 1st double figure a English team throw at them? Can surely string it out a little at least!

Craig Whyte appears to be getting squeezed from all angles. What with his castle and liberty capital in the press. Another straw on this Camel's hump and he might start singing loud about everything he knows. Might even have more tapes.

Everything's been curiously silent at Ibroken recently is it the 330 page Whyte evidence and the ten years to get rid of him story that's taking up everybody's efforts?

Where's Regan on the Whyte-Green purchase of assets by sevco5088 issue? Gordon Waddell is calling on Regan to clean up these defaulting teams and Scottish football in today's press. NOWS THE SFA AND REGANS OBVIOUS CHANCE TO DO IT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It dosent matter what evidence is produced regarding rangers.Like everything else that's been produced since last year, and been deemed as damaging evidence, it will be swept under the carpet. Why, because its the established club the way it has always been and always will be, i'm 65 and have experienced it all my days following celtic.I certainly don't build my hopes up on anything untoward happening to them.Jimbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Catch the Charlotte Fakes releases they are dynamite. The saddest thing is the MSM have not bothered their ass to even mention these. We were called paranoid for years, we saw bias when there was none, ref's were against us, all these have been proved to be true.green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

They just change the rules accordingly to ensure the other lot get fast tracked all the way up. If it was not for the Bhoys I would walk away from Scottish Football completely. I am disgusted at what has happened to date. 40 plus million quid did not give a club from the Govan area any advantage over the competition. Trialists are not allowed to play in competitive matches (with the exceptions of any club playing in the Govan area) Any clubs playing in the Govan may, at their discretion, blatently flaunt all existing rules and regulations insomuch as the flaunting ensures that the club progresses in line with the unwritten rules of the SFA Chapter. Ach, wits the point in grumbling, EUFA, FIFA SFA could care less.

Hi Ed hope you are well, good work as usual mate. Got to say I very happy with signings, not on to add speculation to next signings will trust in lenny and john park. With the ones leaving and new arrivals I think we will have a great squad next season. Just wondering what you guys think what other positions need strengthening, I believe only 2 for me a LB and a creative player. Assuming hooper stays and vic leaves. Thoughts guys.

To replace Wanyama, Celtic should sign junior malanda. If we about loud enough, we will be heard. This guy is just as good. 18 yr old rubbish house that will bully midfielders and break up attacks like beast.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Demanda Malanda LOL ( for the older bhoys and ghirls ) . DH

just a thought, if we get 12 mill plus adons and sell on clause for Wanyama, and 5 mill and ad ons etc for Hooper, then in 2 deals we have generated more money then the Sevconians did with their share issue, not only that its cash in the bank, the share issue is not as its tied to other things and not liquid
this just proves the point that the best run club in the UK is Celtic, no matter what you think of our stinginess at times in the transfer market

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They say they got £22m, Jabba at a fans conference said more like £9m.

CL last season for Celtic netted £25-28m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point.Remember the rumour is that the IPO cash was mostly promissory notes. This might be what is holding up their audited accounts, the true financials will be made public.green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

I really think they're skint over there. Mid dec- mid June is six months at £2.4m OPEX a month = £14.4m spent.

Go figure. Rumour their season ticket dosh was spent by Christmas and they needed the shares issue money which must be running low now.

If this season ticket money only gets them to Christmas, what then?

When wanyama goes his replacement is meant to be Huddlestone from spurs you heard it here first

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Doubt it. What kinda wages will be on at a big London club?. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

He has mentioned that he wants regular first team football and wants a shot of champions league football if we can get by the qualifiers he would probably come

Oh and I meant to say that Bale was telling joe Ledley this at someone's wedding

Not that I'm complaining but you would think heads would be rolling in the Beerschot board room tomorrow morning, why they didn't put a sell on clause in the Wanyama deal when he signed for us I will never know. You don't just become a 12m player overnight. You've either got it or you've not. Ian L

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ian, hear what you're saying, but when we got him he was a raw wee laddie 19.
he has since had cl experience . that beerschott? could never give him .
and let's not forget, we have payed his wages etc for two years probably about £3m . shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

Here what your saying Shammy, however at 19 he must have been showing signs that he could go and play at a higher level, you would have thought someone at Belgian club would have thought let's cover our bets here and negotiate a sell on clause here as this boy is going places, after all his brother was playing at high level. again I'm not complaining. It's just baffling. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

The wans sittin in a dark room wi the samaritans on speed-dial are Helsingoborgs who let him go to Belgium for free.

Wanyama could not agree terms with Southampton. so let the bidding war commence!
Arsenal would be the perfect fit. they have not had this type of player since Vieira (happy birthday).
Between £15-£18M will suffice. They sold a less crafted player with less potential last year in Song to Barca. so come on Wenger get your wallet out!

EKBhoy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

According to my paper today it wasn't £10m . it was a £12.5m bid from the saints . if the big guys are interested, no, £15m is not out of the question . I would take that with add ons .

which begs the question, how can one guy be worth more than the entire ticket sales, for a season, of the biggest most successful team in the world . I mean £15m . that will be their turnover for 13/14.

if we get 15 for vic, and hoops goes for 5 . added to 20 for season books .
oh and let's not forget the champions league money from uefa is due in july another 25 . add another 10 for pay at the gate, lotteries, catering etc .

does that not make us 5 times bigger and better than, the biggest and most successful team in the world . what a bunch of ostrich fannys . shammy

i really think santa cruz could still do a job for us. I know our policy is to sign young but even maybe a 1 year deal with an option of another would be good. he, s a free agent and is coming up for 32, I think the likes of balde and stokes would benefit

There have been times when i, and others, have questioned the motives of Mark Hateley's ramblings in the record. That has now been put to bed after Charlotte fakes showed he was in the employ of the now defunct club until Agent Whyte showed him the door.He was being 'managed' by the press office at the dust bowl to spread propaganda.

On checking out his latest thoughts on the Scottish game it seems clear he has a memory problem. Here are some of his 'enlightened' views on our game.

'Well done Stewart Reagan on promising to withdraw licences from clubs who have caused their own financial meltdown'
'The SFA are culpable for the shambolic state of some of our top clubs'
'It's time to FORCE every CLUB to prove they are running their operation properly'
' Every team should be given an annual MOT to show they are in good condition'
'Follow the German model where clubs HAVE to produce books every season to show they are not spending more than they earn'

From these quotes it is clear this man lives on an entirely different planet from anyone else. When rangers(il) faced their own 'financial meltdown', entirely due to them, they did lose their licence.Thats why your new club could not play any friendlies mark, they had no licence.
How are the SFA to blame for the state of some clubs? SOME clubs chose to lie and circumnavigate the rule book to gain an advantage, any bells ringing Mark?

He now seems to be on a roll.He wants clubs forced to prove they are running their operation properly.Annual financial MOT's and following the German model of fiscal openness. This from the champion of a club who have not had audited accounts for over three years! He also cites the SFA in thinking Romanov was a fit and proper person to run a football club. The same SFA who thought Murray was fit and proper to run rangers. No mention of Murray from Mark even though Murray's overspend dwarfs Romanov's.

He then waffles on about what a great club Hearts are, fantastic stadium, history etc. He loved playing there, it seems it is a 'place of worship'. Then he takes his nonsense a step beyond sanity. All through this he uses the term club. The clubs must show accounts etc.Not one mention of the company. One problem. If incorporated the club accounts will come from the company, this will make them the same entity. This is why we all know your old club died Mark.Your club accounts came from the company.

Finally.'look at the great clubs rangers, Celtic, Man Utd.After all these years they still play at their old stadiums'. One of these clubs is a year old.The other two are well run, well respected clubs at champions league level. One of these clubs, if the rules Hateley wants introduced, would have their licence withdrawn. The other two are financially stable and plan for the future. Thankfully I follow one of the two proper BIG clubs. green jhedi

The guy has zero credibility and even lower than that after recent revelations. However we were all aware he was on the payroll at Ibrox he hasn't the ability to think for himself so would need managed in what to say.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he was on their payroll just for the 'PR' then if I was a Rangers fan, I would not be happy. Club's massively in debt and you have to pay an ex-player to write nice things in a Scottish tabloid newspaper oofft!

I can't remember the last time I read anything he Mark Hateley wrote. I did see Huge Keevins today in the Sunday Mail and he has taken up a whole page explaining why its okay for Celtic for spend their money. Lazy journalism at its worst! ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Keevins. A divisive parasitical maggot. that's his good points. Sopotcelt.

HK is perfectly well balanced with a chip on both shoulders regarding Celtic. let's never mention him nor MH ever again and starve them of an audience.

if waynama goes for a fee in excess of 10 million does lennon see any of that for transfers?

Peter Cardiff

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's already seen £5m of it, for the transfers in of Balde and Virgil.

Agree0 Disagree0

And what about the revenue streams from CL, ST, savings in salary from a number of offloaded players?
Yet again, short changed IMO.
2 guys coming in may prove to be the real deal but still think we should go for the experienced, ready to go player this squad needs to move on to next stage.
