Evening bhoys and ghirls. I am in Dublin to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary on weekend of 30th July. Imagine my surprise (and my missus! ) to find out we were playing Barcelona while we were there. 😜😱🍀.

Does anybody know whether tickets are available through the club to non season ticket holders? I hope you can help this old romantic out! Thanks.

On holiday over in Boston just in the NB shop Liverpool tops a plenty no sign of celtic stuff anywhere. Thot the reason for going with NB was to sell tops in America.

Ed : great weekend ( other than Killie) .
Just a thought for next season.
Everyone on the site can have a go at forecasting what position each team in the SPFL premiership will end up.
However the points will be done in reverse. 12 for last place 11 for second last place and so.
if you correctly guess the top 6 teams then add 10 points and another 10 points if you guess the bottom 2.

all it would take is a formulated spreadsheet.
No prizes just for fun!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - A what spreadsheet?? Yeah mate that's something we can look at doing. I'm sure Ed013 done something like that between all the Eds at the start of the season, I'll speak to him about it and see if he's got anything set up worth stealing. Ed039's a bit of a geek with spreadsheets too so we should be able to get something sorted before August.}

22 May 2016 18:07:15
After reading the story you were talking about a while ago ed and I know it's not going to happen but reading the story about Gerrard for assistant there. What a laugh that would be and a big fat boot in the b**ls to commons

Sorry if it's been posted but the sites been crazy to keep up with as past couple days

HH to all and welcome all the new posters.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - I know mate, surely Gerrard will get a team to play for in the EPL. It would be a sad day for me if he ended up at Celtic in any capacity.}

23 May 2016 04:33:18
Why would it be sad?, it be a major coup in my eyes?, if you mean for the player exclude money who's bigger?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's - It would be sad because I wouldn't be happy.}

23 May 2016 08:44:03
It's sad cause he ain't no Roy Keane ( ed's hero ) one of the greatest midfielders ever Keane v viera now that was a mid field battle.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2016 11:43:07
It's sad because he's done as a player as was
Keane who I loved, plus there's the money he'd
be on not for a coach not for me.

22 May 2016 20:35:59
Not posted in a while been busy with work, I think Rodgers will be good for the club, a man coming in as the money being touted will not be a tad man and be told the players he can have not that he wants this I think is needed, poor diela was getting players he had never even seen play, I hope this is a new chapter.

@DN30 and the other punters on here, I hope you went and checked out ED023 tips today he had a couple of winners and 2 placed horses.
Also one of the tipsters I told you about on the oddschecker website tipped up Jet Setting which won at 11/ 1 (it opened up at 20/ 1) One of the other guys also tipped 2 nice priced horses also.
it really is worth checking these guys out.

That result at Rugby Park today really does highlight the gulf between bottom of the premiership and top of the championship? As for cup games just shows you the glamour of the cup the smaller teams now and again get a win against the big guns which can lead to false optimism? Lol bring on season 2016-17 looking forward to see if Aberdeen can still post a slight challenge again 🍀.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

22 May 2016 21:13:37
Was thinking that myself while watching today Bigp . Falkirk did put up a slightly better effort than last years championship side did against Motherwell but the gulf is there for all to see.

What are the IFAB board playing at with this red card rule change? Surely that will just generate further inconsistency?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Players who commit a foul to deny a goalscoring opportunity will no longer automatically be sent off, football's rule-making body has confirmed.

The previous 'triple-punishment' rule required a red card - and therefore a suspension - as well as the award of a penalty under those circumstances.

However, players committing accidental fouls that deny a goalscoring chance will now be cautioned instead.

But deliberate fouls will still incur a red card.

Those include holding, pulling or pushing, not playing the ball, serious foul play, violent conduct or deliberate handball in order to deny a goalscoring opportunity.

The change has been ratified by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) - a body made up of the four British football associations and Fifa - which decides on changes to the Laws of the Game.

Looking at the bigger picture it looks like our defeat to TRFC is the best thing that could have happened to us. The triumphalist antics of the Directors of TRFC at Hampden on that day i'm led to believe severely pissed off DD . Wonder what would of happened if we had won the game fairly comfortably? Would we of just continued onto next season with the same management team with the cracks papered over. Now it looks like thanks to their loud mouthed direcors DD is going to be throwing a bit of his loose change at us. Lesson learned Sevco never piss off a billionaire.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

22 May 2016 16:16:53
Don't u know they have there own billionaire in Dave king Stevie? Or was it craigy White who was the billionaire, I get confused hahaha! Let there half wit directors jump about and celebrate the petrofact cup and a 2nd tier championship! Makes it all the sweeter next season when Brendan puts the 'Manager of the year' in his place! That's if he's still he here that is, because according to some of there fans yesterday's pitch invasion will make him high tail back down south! Haha. Looks like the exuses are starting already eh lol.

22 May 2016 18:20:21
Stevie, I think u are right D D got completely sickened.
I think we should give the MSSM a round of applause for their non stop criticising of R D and at the same time landed non stop praise on Golden bhoy Warbs . The media must be well pleased with themselves initiating the end of R D and now getting us Brendan Rodgers.

22 May 2016 19:15:03

@Timalloy although we occasionally have different views on opinions, something I'll give praise to is your betting tips.

With that in mind I was wondering if you heard of a football betting site which more or less guarantees to at least break even, by taking their tips and spreading total stake over say 3/ 4 different bets? If you have, is it any good mate?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed023's Note - If you go to the drop down window at the top we run a betting site with football, golf and horse racing. We've a few good winners in the horses recently, it's a good site as people share their tips including Tim.}

{Ed007's Note - I seen that about Izaguirre. Hopefully it doesn't mean KT is for the off.}

22 May 2016 09:57:28
If we could sign any 3 realistic players guys who would you go for?
Mines would be

Skyrtl
Elyonussi excuse the spelling
Janko

Think all these would be realistic targets and strengthen what we have.

Lose the following bailly ambrose izaguiire Blackett boyata biton brown commons Forrest McKay Stevens Allan Cole Richards

Keep Gordon fasan tierney mulgrew simunovic sviatchenko lustig Armstrong johansson roberts macregor rogic Christie griffiths buy the 3 suggest plus 2 more.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 May 2016 10:25:08
Hakim Ziyech
Eran Zahavi
Brandon Mechele.

Agree1 Disagree1

22 May 2016 10:34:39
I would like us to sign a top keeper, centre back and a couple of varied forwards.
Add Stokes and Janko to the 'exit' list, but keep GMS as he is a good squad player.
Simunovic has not played nearly enough games to prove himself and his long injury absences worry me, so I would keep Mulgrew until we know where we are with him?
There was talk of Lustig moving on and although he came onto a game at the end of the season, he was inconsistent and found-out a few times in big games.
So I understand why we're looking to sign the Chelsea lad.
Johansen is another guy who had a mixed season and was not the player he was in the previous term, but on his game he is excellent, but I don't know if he wants to stay?
BR will have a short-list of people he will want to add and with the bulk of the team that beat 'Well with Henderson and Fisher to come back, we should be good to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 May 2016 10:37:28
Sell our 2 starting CM's and don't even sign one? You've been drinking a bit too much!

Agree1 Disagree0

22 May 2016 11:02:35
Can't nail down just 3.

GK- Either Mandanda on a bosman or Kapino from Olympiacos who is a good young keeper not getting game time.

Elyounoussi

Ron Vlaar on a bosman

Jurgen Locadia

If we sell Bitton or Johansen then Tony Vilhena also on a bosman.

LM67 giod shouts there, reported interest in all 3 too. Ziyech might have better offers but I'd ve delighted with either him or Zahavi to compete with Rogic.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 May 2016 11:10:15
Agree with most to leave would keep Brown for the same reasons as Mulgrew and give GMS a chance to improve.
In if we could get them
Marshall
Paterson
Jonssen
Badstuber
Vaulks
Macnair
Grosskruz
Dyer
A spare LB and a quality CF o for a Henrick.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 May 2016 11:42:07
Yusuf Poulson.
Eyounoussi.
Bring back Denayer - because Man City are going to spend big.

Also, I'd look at Bayern and see who is available for loan. With Sanches and Hummels coming in, and Ancelotti still to arrive, there could be some interesting players available.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 May 2016 12:25:16
Denayer would be a great shout if he becomes available, either on loan or permanently. Would really suit Rodgers style and has a bit more pace than Jozo and big Erik.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 May 2016 12:36:50
Still plugging Poulsen there PP. He does look a talent. Denayer back is a great shout too. We should be getting in touch with all the top sides seeing who is surplus to requirements. An experienced CB with pedigree is a must for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 May 2016 13:11:07
Ha, absolutely Jim!

I think he's great-in relative terms- and would suit the style BR employed at Liverpool with his system shifting between 1, 2 and 3 forwards. He's mobile, works his socks off, has height, scores goals, can play wide it centrally, with a partner or up top on His own. Funny thing is, I've championed him for season or two and RBL have been promoted so he may be out of our reach now.

Denayer and Svia, with as you say an experienced head, would be ideal - especially as BR shifts to 3 on occasion. I'll stick my head on the block and say that if Lustig was shifted to a centre back (as part of 3) and utilised sparingly when we Play with 2 (assuming we bring in a Denayer or someone of that ilk) , we may already have that experienced cb.

I don't know much about the boy from Chelsea but we do need an RB.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 May 2016 17:02:46
Same reasons/ qualities I said Locadia. The modern forward. But Poulsen looks that bit more dynamic and tricky actually. Think he'd cost a fair bit more now as you say, but Pistol Pete is still looking for that £8m forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 May 2016 01:15:32
I know I am new to the site but have been observing for a couple of years and cannot but help seeing people swept up by the EPL madness. My original post was not a comment on allen versus Adam, it was a comment on the horrendous ammounts of cash they pay for absolute mince. Since the inception of the EPL and Sky it has become fashionable to degrade Scottish football. The hegemonic rule of Sky and the EPL permeates all of Scottish football. Point of note, recently they have decided it fashionable to pay absolute millions for anybody who has stepped foot in Belgium, in the 90's it was scandanavians, they dictate, no need to follow.

I don't want Celtic to buy 5/ 6 or more players this summer, I prefer B R to target buy decent player to fit into the positions he thinks we need most strengthening . B R is good at working and bringing through youth players and we need him to do that . I think we have as many, if not too many promising youths for him to work with . I don't want players like Henderson and Nesbitt going out on loan in August.
