No matter what our opinions are on how the team are playing this season one thing you can't take away from them is this clean sheet record in the league we just broke today, the unbeaten record if we do it will be a good achievement but to go 13 games without conceding a goal is pretty astonishing, if we can keep a clean sheet on Tuesday then I think it's 6 more mins into the Caley game it's the British record and if we can last to 86 mins it's the European record. What Van der Saar and Manchester United done to hold the British record is un-believable considering the league they were playing in. Considering the previous Scottish record stood for 40 odd years I think it's safe to say none of us on here will see big Frasers record broken. So credit where credits due well done Celtic. Remind me how many did the Sevconians concede in 90 mins in Scotlands 3rd tier today against the mighty Stennie?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is everything Rosie again Stevie? Remind me the score against the mighty Morton?

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty sure Morton are in second tier

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't care less about sevco are doing.

Agree0 Disagree0

That makes a defeat at home acceptable then ok sorry there in the 2nd tier

Agree0 Disagree0

Is getting pumped aff queen of south and knocked out ramsdens cup acceptable? #administration the sequel

Agree0 Disagree0

Everything has been rosie for some time now Johncass, my post was purely about not conceding for 13 league games and how hard it is to do this at any level. I used the Sevies score yesterday to show how hard it is to put a couple of clean sheets together never mind 13, so jog off back to your administration page and work out where your next pay day loans coming from. Tick Tock

Agree0 Disagree0

@6 typical deflection tactics from sevco. When the going gets tough, try and discredit the hoops. Shower of wrong yins

Agree0 Disagree0

@6 we drew it happens, Stevie are you sure everything's Rosie? You's have no competition to challenge and still lennons stock amongst the fans has never been lower

Agree0 Disagree0

@8 ibrokes will be a supermarket soon. Sevco mark 2 on the way soon ADMINISTRATION

Agree0 Disagree0

@9 I wonder how many small businesses they will take with them this time. I felt for some of the suppliers last time but if they did not see this coming this time, hell mend them.

Agree0 Disagree0

@10 I know mate. Was shocking the way they treated small businesses and I bet you some of these businesses were owned by their own supporters. They are living in a wee bubble if they think they will be contending celtic for a title challenge if they get into premiership. Can honestly see celtic getting 10 in a row

Heard this from a pal who saw it in Tam Cowan's column in today's paper.
Sevco trying to get a £1.5m loan is their equivalent of a Crisis Loan from DSS.
ha ha Tam succinctly put lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cowan is a fat fool and a bigot. He is (very) occasionally funny, though.

First of all can I say well done to Fraser Forster (and the rest of the team) for the shutout record.
My other points are not Celtic related but can I also say well done Cliftonville for going back to top of Irish League today.
My other point is "what goes around, comes around moment" . after the disgraceful way Cardiff treated Malky Mackay (and still are) and the way they paraded Solskaer as the "Second Coming" I was particulary delighted to see Cardiff humped 4-0 at HOME today and hope relegation beckons for them.

Two instances of individual skill won us the match today. All that time on the ball but we do not have a locksmith. When the summer signings are being considered I hope we manage to unearth a bit of craft and guile, that's what our Scouts are for, so go to it Scouts earn yer bread.

Well done big Forster on the record (although I would give a lot of the credit to the majestic Virgil) and another 3 points in this great run towards the title.
I thought Griffiths took his goal well, with excellent displays from Biton and VVD, but we are too pedestrian and predictable - especially against the worst Hearts team I think I have seen in decades.
We created very few chances in a game we bossed.
Brown, Mathews and Commons are either jaded or not fully fit ( I know Mathews is still getting back) and the lack of pace, slickness and flair has been all to evident for me in many games.
I have said before, but I feel we released too many players out on loan who may have given us options?

I know this will not go down well - as we are skating the league, but the football on show is far short of what we expect of Celtic teams. Or is that just me?
Is this unbeaten run causing caution and safety-first or is it more obviously the standard of player - and therefore the team is so lacking in real quality?
We are certainly lacking flair and imagination in the midfield, settling for graft and workmanlike players.
Very few players are capable of taking on and beating their man and invariably turn backwards.
Izzy (who may not still be back to his best) is sadly missed as an attacking option and Mathews seems to be struggling for fitness and confidence too, so we produce very little down the flanks.
I feel Commons is our best attacking player, but he has carried the team at times and looks tired.
I am worried that this lack of quality and class will show when we have to play CL qualifiers and whoever our opponents will be, are usually well into their domestic campaign and hard to beat?

Was working overtime today so didn't see the game and have to admit disappointed with a 2 nil scoreline.

My season ticket buddies, previously so pro Lennon it was torture are now even fed up with this current level of performance's and would prefer he left.

Obviously well done to Fraser for what was a great achievement given some of the top class keepers in the SPL over the past few years.

I think our team looks nowhere near as fit as it did in the Strachan days and it alarms me what these other small clubs are saying about our young players.

A fresh start for our club should be undertake this summer, new manager with coaches, especially a striker coach will bring fresh ideas and impetus to a squad that has been far too lacklustre for my liking.

Anyways, on a positive note I do hope we keep another few clean sheets so the big man gets the European record as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Izzy has been fantastic this season and well and truly back to his best, his attacking play and crosses have been a joy to watch at times - a shame we don't have the players attacking his crosses.

Delighted for big Fraser today, well deserved and hope he gets to the World Cup. It would be a travesty if he was somehow left out.

I feel we play the possession passing game but with no urgency at all. When we were 1-0 against Aberdeen we should have killed the game, instead it went the other way!

Brown looked shattered.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very true Mrs E, The crosses come pinging in 10 a penny but are seldom taken advantage of. Football is still essentially a simple game. A cross coming in will either be front post, center spot, or back post. Celtic can afford to have 3 forwards looking to attack these 3 areas in anticipation but it doesn't happen. Numerous crossed balls are easily cleared unchallenged. Izzy probably zips in more than the rest of the wide players in the league added together.
Chris and Henrik would score tons :)

Agree0 Disagree0

We put in a lot of crosses in each game we play, which in my opinion proves the tactical ineptness of Neil Lennon, all our midfielders Biton apart and all our strikers apart from Balde are average in height and we simply never get the goals we did back in the day of Henrik, Sutton and Hartson.

I really do think we put in these aimless crosses because of the lack of creativity in our squad, if the players can't do anything else, then its a cross into the box and let's face it, that usually leads to the ball being cleared.

Agree0 Disagree0

I still like some of the balls Izzy gets in the box Kev.

Been a real problem this season and we have been awful at corners, complete waste of time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kev how exactly are crosses tactically inept?

Wonder if the folk who ridculed the griffiths signing will be moaning the day

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Just because he scored a goal doesn't make him any kind of messiah, Gunnie. No matter what he does I will always say that he should never be playing for Celtic and I still expect him to let the club down at some point with his off-field antics. His signing just emphasises even more the decline in standards on and off the park at the club.}

For me we should be starting with Balde and Pukki once again showed they link up well together in their five minutes cameo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hardly anything to brag about. Hearts are sitting on 6 points at bottom of league and a team full of youths. My stance is still the same, he is not good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Not siding with LG ed but there has been a few unsavoury types in the hoops down through the years and prior to Fergus the board would be right up there with the Turpins across town .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Griffiths isn't unsavoury, he's vile.}

So if granny stuffer wayne rooney was to sign would there be the same uproar?. prob not I think

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Have you seen Rooney all over the press for being a deadbeat dad, threatening women, sending racist tweets, attacking a 14 year old lad, shoplifting or attacking his manager and assistant? And that's only the stuff I can mention as it is in the public domain.}

Some folk never happy. If he didn't score then everyone would be geein it aw that's 2 starts and he's no scored yet told ye he shouldn't have signed

Agree0 Disagree0

More vile than the person fan who made the comment about his kids?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It wasn't me that sent it, so what's you point?}

Well your callin the guy vile aye he's made mistakes but he's only 23 fs he won't get away with that carry on at celtic. Hrtson was hardly an angel before he signed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm not playing whataboutery with you, it's disgraceful he is at our club and nothing will ever change my mind about that. As I've said it just epitomises the decline in standards currently coursing through the club, on and off the field.}

Fair enough that's your opinion a just think fans need 2 gee the lad a chance he's signed now wether folk like it or not

Agree0 Disagree0

Must be true if its in the papers . ed everyone has their opinion, mines is that he will score loads of goals and was a snip at the price. big john mcavennie and even our gaffer hit headlines for the wrong reasons, but to call the guy vile ed I don't agree with u. I watched the game today and at the end the fans rose as one and applauded him, seems to me especially recently on here that unless your going to cost 5 mill and foreign your not worthy to wear the hoops, but then the same people contradict themselves by saying that the youths should be giving a chance. ont care wot you done or where yu come from ill back every player that plays for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't really care if you agree with me or not, I'll stick to my principals and you stick to yours that doesn't care about the image of the club. And before you come back that's not what you mean just reread the last part of your post.}

I agree with Ed and I knew as soon as he scored people would come on here saying bet yous have all changed yer minds now my mind is still the same he's not good enough maybe good enough for the league but not Europe and his antics may set a bad example for the youths at the club is tony watt not been papped out on loan because of a bad attitude double standards from Lennon now watt is scoring goal in a harder league than ours and league 1 where griffiths came from an was struggling

Agree0 Disagree0

I have and wll continue to back our players ed, as for your image of the club patter I think our image is higher and better than it has been for yrs, if its good enoughfor lawwell and the gaffer its good enough for me.i meant everything in my posts so won't be backtracking for the issue is your blantant dislike for a new player that you clearly don't want to give a chance . but like I said if shagger shrek was t sign for us I bet youd b over the moon.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I forgot how happy PL is with the public image of the club, his reaction to Motherwell, Green Brigade and their banners, UEFA fines and having meetings with his lackey supporters and bloggers all prove that. Rooney has nothing to do with anything but how would you react if the club signed him? How did you feel about John Terry getting booed by the support in a charity match?}

22 Feb 2014 18:45:56
ED007 as I rarely read tabloids these days (especially our "neutral" Scottish ones) I was genuinely unaware of all the unsavoury aspects attached to Griffiths.
I agree with you also on Celtic Football Club's reputation and I would hope the club would now be more proactive in certain areas.
The most obvious being if Griffiths has children to support then encourage him to pay his rightful dues or club will "dock" a percentage of his salary and give to his kids.
Also make him do some community work or charity work (unpaid) in his local area.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If he can't walk away from a crowd of school kids Tim how is he going to handle being abused by Zombies everywhere he goes? The club shouldn't need to intervene when it comes to looking after his kids, he should be man enough to do that himself. I wonder how all his apologists would feel it it was their sister.}

If rooney signed it would be the same as griffiths and would back him as he's now a celt, everyone screws up their life from time to time and I don't do grudges, he's a boy @ 23 why old, a pup, . if e goes on and scores goals for us, stays for yrs, dosent get himself into anymore trouble will you maintain your dislike for the boy? as for the booing no I didn't agree with it, nor the political or uefa banners but what can you do? itseems more and more fans think they know what's best for celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Admitting your attitude towards Rooney would change if he signed shows exactly how fickle and multi-faced the modern customers at football are.}

I'm 100% with Ed on this, he shouldn't be anywhere near our club. There were better options in the window not least bringing Watt back. This isn't just hindsight I posted this on here when we were first linked, obviously if he's playing I'll support him but I hope he's not.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bhoywonder why is wanting both quality signings and playing youth contradicting, can you just have one or the other? I believe most fans want both! we signed 9 players this seasons, most of them are just average, had we bought four or five quality players that would have left at least four places for youth. Singing players of the calibre of Mouyokolo instead of promoting our best youth cb is nothing short of abysmal.

Your tag should say steviewonder because your are blind to everything that's going on at our club!

Agree0 Disagree0

@ OP, yeah I'm still moaning. I was led to believe by our manager and chief executive we were going to sign better. Nobody on here doubted the lads level of ability or goals by the way.

Half time and usual from Celtic 75% of the ball but can't seam to find the net, where is johanson best position? I thought he got the 25 shirt because he was a play maker attacking midfielder but seams to be playing more of a holding role to allow commons to go forward, why have Celtic not got cover for lb? And why is Mathews in before fisher when it is clear he's not match fit, let's hope griffins gets off the mark in second half .

Virgil hasn't been selected for Netherlands' 33-man provisional World Cup squad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good I'd be happy if none of our players are at the world cup, much prefer them all to get a good rest before CL qualifiers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't expect he would be. He couldn't have been under much consideration while at his previous club and hasn't been tested enough to suggest he has improved to the point of being good enough to go to a World Cup.

My best mate and best man is English, but tonight I felt like parpin the nut on him lol, I asked him if he would be happy with Forster as NO.1, he said and I quote "No, he's a good keeper in the CL, but he is not consistent enough, I asked him if he has watch a single SPFL this season he said no, m enough said!!

Seriously hope neil doesn't mess with the startin 11 tomorrow. only change i'd make is charlie at lb if izzy doesn't make it and if he does make it then charlie surely benched because biton and johansen don't deserve 2 be left out after their last performance apart from that I hope its the same as last week
