FELLOW TIMS.how long have we had to listen to how the gers go on about being the greatest team, most successful team ever, blah, blah, blah.but isnt it great to know that EVERY trophy or league we have won,we have won fair and square.what i am saying is,we have no TAINTED TITLES.gers 9 in a row,and all the scottish and league cups they, ahem, won in that period, were won with players recieving illegal payments.how refreshing to think that in those days, when we as a club were at our lowest ever ebb, that rangers had to use illegal means to stay scotlands most successful club.maybe if her majestys government finally get to the truth, the mighty gers will be stripped of their TAINTED TITLES,which would take about 20 trophies from their history.a history which is getting more embarassing by each day.

Drew ma bhoy ? Have a look at the top of this page , does the word banter mean anything to you, i posted on here a few weeks back about Rangers should be stripped of their nine in a row, and one of their plastic stars should be ripped from their jerseys, and got the reaction from the bears i was looking for, especially Tony who was going Bear-serk.........Stevie

Tim if I win with those teams you picked plus the two I've picked I will buy you a pint in the District Bar lol. The 13 teams I posted above now if everyone of those teams win I will buy you two pints in the Ibrox bar in Tenerife lol.

Hi ed. I thought that was a good enough result last night. If we don't get that big donkey out of goals fast we will win nothing. It just shows you that it must of been Izzy that got him all his clean sheets last year along with the rest of the defence. His communication is shocking and then he stands there like he is glued to the ground. My granny would be more mobile than him. Ok he pull of a Few saves but he's a disaster. Rangers have to decent keepers we have none. The defence are walking on egg shells with this guy they don't even have the confidence of him dealing with a back pass. Bring back packie haha. Bigirishmac

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Big man i know where you're coming from but to be fair to him last night you saw him after the goal giving Cha pelters and saying he told him to leave it. Also you would tell a school kid you never put the ball in the centre , always play it to the side. Anyway after that he pulled off 3 absolutely brilliant saves so overall i don't think he deserves much stick. I'd actually put big Fraser in the same category as Loovens and Brown. One bad game or one mistake and we slaughter them but actually has Brown been any worse that Kayal, Ki etc or this season (thinkk about this season) has Loovens been any worse that any of the other defenders ??

I think you'll find the answers no. I'd rather have the guys that try than the big heads who play when they feel like it.

On that note NL better not drop Ledley again, that guy must be gutted when he gets left out (along with Stokes) for some of the bigger games

REF Rabthe bear "do you know what hail hail means£

Rab the Celtic song we sing today is an amalgum of two songs "Hail hail song was first part of an Opera then adapted as a marching song about 1916 I think (other expert celtic fans will know better) Then Glen Daly in 1961 recorded the Celtic song and added "its a grand old team to play for"
As for "hail hail" itself most Celtic fans see it as a kind of rallying cry "hail hail the celts are here"
(again celtic historians will know better than me)
Rab I am old enough to know EXACTLY what watp means, and it has nothing to do with any religious overtunes, it is an arrogant boast trying to say you are better than other people" which patently you are NOT AND NEVER WILL BE' hail hail Timalloy

What a goal last night absolutely hillarious. Beamed around the whole planet for us all to have a good laugh. Another team drop their best player to play the runners up and they still can't win.

No Hooper , No Sameras , No Commons, No Brown , No Izaguirre , No Kelvin Wilson , No Mark Wilson , No Kaddouri yeah and celtic had a full strengh team out .

Celtic had more players out than them . So it's not we could not beat them it's they could not beat us.

So go watch some cartoons and cheer yourself up before you try hurting yourself.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Sorry mate celtic fielded the strongest squd they possibly could rennes didnt, however fairplay for the result, felt they were there for the taking last night and you could ahve gotten the three...... ps i also predicted on this site yesterday it would be a draw

Germinator

Agree0 Disagree0

No Sorry mate your clutching at straws,
No matter how you look at it , Celtic might have fielded the strongest squad they could last night but it's still not there strongest squad 8 players out.

If more players dropped they we would have played our under 19's.
If hooper , Brown , Izaguirre , kelvin & Mark Wilson was availible they would have played possibley even commons and sameras.

No matter how you look at it celtic did not have there strongest possible side out. Also rennes only dropped 3 players and 2 came on.

Agree1 Disagree1

Germinator, Im not gonna argue with the statement that we fielded the best team possible and they didnt as its true.

That said even a weakened team like rennes is still more than a match for anyone in the SPL ( said this earlier).

We as a footballing nation are so far behind other nations esp the likes of france with their brilliant youth setups and african links. Which makes the result a decent one in my opinion. We were not totally outclassed and when we were in bother it was 99% our own doing from poor awareness and poor ball control.

Also agree that that team were there for the beating! they looked worse than us defending the long ball!! didnt think i would see a team deal with the long ball worse than celtic have so far this season!! but once again we had no one able to capitalise upon that as mostly when our defenders get the ball its a case of get it up the park and it was aimed completley randomly most of the time.

I think we Celtic fans are entitled to be happy with the result tho. As all round it was a vast improvement on recent performances overall. Workrate was good, stokes esp impressed me with his willingness! and kayal looked almost back to his best and wanyama was good altho a tad sloppy when passing the ball, as the whole team were at points.

there is still a lot more to come from this team and we need it to start coming soon!

Evinguu

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah id agree eveningu you defo deserved the point last night. If you had even taken three i dont think too many people would have said that you were lucky.

the original poster who said i was clutching at straws ?! what straws i called it exactly as it is.... if those players you mention for celtic were available they would have started ..... celtic couldnt have put out a stronger squad last night ?

Germinator

Agree0 Disagree0

Out of all those player out how many would you have put in your team

Agree0 Disagree0

Out of what players ? the missing celtic players ? what ones would i have put out last night. or what ones would make it into gers team?

if ur talking about celtic id have played Izza at left back, Wilson at CB and and Zaluska in goals and thats it .. the result proves that other than they two that may hav been ur strongest squad.

Sammy is awful and couldnt get a game for Pollok Juniors
Hooper has been poor of late the last thing of any note he did was score against gers and even that is all he did in that game.
Mark Wilson was on bench and lenny cleary thought Cha's pace ould eb better (wilson wasnt dropped to be rested)
Commons hasnt shown a single thing this season to sugest he should be in team and I dont think Kaddouri is good enough for celtic at all.

What relevance your question has i have no idea tho?

Germinator

Agree0 Disagree0

We are not discussing the fact celtic could not field any other player last night we are saying it was not celtic's strongest team last night either. it was a weakened rennes team and celtic team .
Celtic might not have had a choice in the team they selected but it still wasn't celtic's best side and i'm sure the rennes manager thought of that and desided to play that squad thinking his second string squad could beat ours.

Would I be correct in suggesting that many of the accusations about Whyte could also be levelled at Mr Murry. Why is there no BBC program about him. At least in part his wealth was smoke and mirrors

Sittin watching Italian football on espn the now (not sayin were in that class) but every keeper in the highlights is jumpin about divin low to get the ball, how can the big man no do something of the same ?

Gerry, couple of Celtic fans on here keep asking why I go on both sites and wind up you bears, well first it is a banter site and secondly hate all this watp, 4iar stuff, nothing original so if bears say this I give them pelters, no freebies, give it take it, the hilarious thing is most bears on gers site cannot take and go complaining to their ed ha ha, so what do I do? give them MORE pelters back LOL Timalloy I give it but I take it too but I give it back with interest ha ha

(0)
Timalloy you are spot on mate. A banter site is surely meant for "banter". If everybody agreed on everything and there was no banter the world would be a boring place indeed. If the tax case goes against us i fully expect your good self, ed 007 and all regular Celtic contributors to give me pelters and if the tax case goes our way you know i'm gonna give you all both barrels. I worked in an office that had 8 people in it. Myself and 7 Celtic fans, i was completely outnumbered and took some slagging but the banter was the only thing that made the job bearable. If you give it you've gotta take it as well. Some folk just cant understand this concept.

Gerry The Ger.

What has anyone in your office got anything to slag you with gerry? Tim you have opened a can of worms with your comment on WATP and 4iar not so much 4iar thats just banter. Why do you hate it? Are you jealous of us? Do you know that We Are The People is part of our history? What is the story behind hail hail?
Rabthebear

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Do you even know the history behind WATP

Mark67

Agree0 Disagree1

Rabthebear. Try working with 7 Celtic fans through the Martin O'Neill era and when we had a certain Mr Paul Le Guen, when Celtic won 3 in a row under Strachan. Trust me i took plenty of abuse lol. On the plus side when we beat Celtic in an OF game come Monday morning i was the only one in the office, all 7 Celtic supporters suddenly came down with a mystery virus nearly every time haha.

Gerry The Bear.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes mark of coarse I do. I know the two meanings do you? I think a gers poster posted on here a few months ago explaining it because nobody new what it meant. So don't say you know because you would have posted the meaning for it. I think it was Tony.
Rabthebear

Agree1 Disagree0

I posted the exactly what the meaning was and why Rangers fans use It several weeks ago. As far as the use of the WATP by Rangers fans, I'm pretty sure exactly which of the 2 meanings as you put It refers to and doubt It has any biblical reference.

Mark67

Agree0 Disagree1

Mark67 if you read your bible, and I'm sure you do, you will find it

Agree1 Disagree0

What is the reason Rangers fans use We Are The People mark?
Psalm 95:7. He is our God; we are the people. We all know it's from the bible. But why and when do Rangers fans use it? Now this is my subject. Why bring this whole debate up again? This was discussed on here a couple of months back and I got called a bigot for posting a reply to Ed007 I'm sure it was cfc1967 that asked Ed to ban We Are The People because he said it was sectarian lol. cfc1967 got found out by Ed for using 2 names Mick the bhoy was the other lol. So are they any new names popped up on this site over the last few weeks if they are cfc/mick is back under a new name lol.
Followfollow81

Agree1 Disagree0

As I said, I posted It a couple of weeks back, Just seems strange to me that fans who quote text from the bible can be so offended by other peoples right to express religious beliefs etc like the sign of the cross for example. I tag all my posts and I am who I say I am and go under no other name.

Mark67

Agree0 Disagree1

Mark67, it was ff81 that posted to Ed007 the meaning WATP. It was months ago. The reason i remember is i never knew the reason Rangers fans said it and why and when. Who is offended by the Quote from the bible? Can everyone start having banter about football and not religion and tax after all it is a football site.

{Ed007's Note - CFC fans knew all about it, maybe Rangers fans will realise the truth now, bullying board members etc, 'off the radar' wealth, unscrupulous business history etc etc.}

Ed, what did Celtic fans know all about? What is the truth that all Rangers fans need to realise. You are making out that us Rangers fans know nothing about our owner. We know as much about the Whyte as you guys. The business Whyte is in won't make him many friends and he know it. His only intrest is making money. As for him having a season ticket a fir park lmao. I liked that one lol.
Rabthebear {Ed007's Note -Anyone who knew him growing up with him knows he went to Fir Park.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed I went to fir par when I was a boy but it was in the away end. My brother in law was at the same school as Craig Whyte but was the year above him. He said he never went to the football much but if he did it would be Ibrox with his mum, dad and uncle. So whoever said fir park are stirring it.
Rabthebear {Ed007's Note - Conversations at playtime must have been riveting and the application forms from Motherwell must be forged than?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he looks like a football man at all hence the reason John Greig may have walked away. He has a plan but what it is remains to be seen..I would say in the football world though it can be 'who you know'..and that could be his downfall

well well one night throws up so much entertainment, Kicking off with Cha and forster scoring what in the end was a very well placed finish in the corner of the net. Then our Mr Ledley with what was a great we header, a bit of luck, but it was deffo his intention so you can say it ws skill.
And we end up with a point away from home in europe. Not a bad result regardless of who you are playing in the modern game!

Then we have 'that' programme, as others have said not a huge amount more than what we already knew about Mr Whyte and his past. The stuff about the woman not being paid and the logistics company were extra bits i hadnt managed to come across. And then there was the links to this Sykes fellow ( was it Sykes? im crap with names) any way links to that conman lol. We always knew a lot of his dealings were off the radar and his dealings had always been suspect at best.

Still left a few questions. How wealthy is Whyte? 99.9% of the time with businessmen ( well above board ones) you can put a figure on their accumulated wealth. I was also suprised when they went on about liberty capitel, they did mention that it is nigh on impossible to find out info about it, and the fact that the website has been undergoing redevelopment sinde at least december last year!
Anyone who is above refute you can track their business accumen and history rather accuratley, with Mr Whyte this simply is not the case.

Still we have to wait and see what happens with the tax csae i guess.

Evinguu

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi Evinguu yes it was an interesting evening, lets gloss over cha's own goal ha ha. (that goal will be replayed on all tv bloopers shows)
Now to Mr Whyte yes a lot we already knew but as I mentioned to germinator earlier this Insovency Service investigation is ver interesting, in papers today Whyte has refused to comment, that tells you more than anything.
Some of us Miko, our ED007, myself and others have also said that this could hang over club for years, interesting to hear Whyte say they might not appeal, take hit of Administration and move on.
If I supported rangers I would be very worried, Whyte will be ok, but will Glasgow Rangers? Their reputation will nose dive, no company will give them credit. Just think also what a MASSIVE lift to Celtic to see 10 point gap disappear, and also think of effect on Rangers players, seeing their big lead disappear, they will be demoralised.
Yes Whyte is planning only for Whyte NOT for the greater good of Rangers FC.
Hail Hail Timalloy (ps Evinguu caught your long poster-itis disease ha ha)

Agree0 Disagree0

Forgot to add....
thought Kayal had a more spirited display last night too which was good to see.

Still too many simple passes and long balls to nobody! need more composure on the ball, they dont seem to see the simple square ball or wee 10yard pass infromt of them.

There were still the glaring mistakes and uncertainty at the back, and this tendancy crept in later in the game to back off your man and we invited a lot of unwarranted pressure on ourselves.

if people like forrest had got a grip of the ball, as his first touch was very very poor for him we would have had more oppertunities. But i dont think we disgraced ourselves last night.

Yes bears will say, they missing their best player and others, well so are we happens to all teams, and they have decided to rest someone. That team out there was still more than a match for anyone in the spl and i think we would have seen rangers struggle more than ourselves at times, but that is speculation and cannot be backed up with evidence.

Still a long long way to go for this group of players ... again. and have to admit Loovens was ok last night, few scares and a few corners ad crosses where he seemed to turn his back on the ball and just jump in hope that it would hit his head. and was caught out a few times coming wide when he really didnt need too. But he also made a few good tackles, would we have got the same result with dan at the back?? i dont think so!

Evinguu

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha tim, it is catchy isnt it, i suggest covering your mouth when reading my posts, should help a bit. there are top boffins working on a vaccination but so far all its done is spawn mutant rangers fans who can only come back with such classics , back tae yerrrr ainnee pageee WATP, 4iar etc etc etc.

All along whyte has been securing his own intrests against anyone else who may have some in an insolvencey event, its his standard business model pretty much, sometimes its worked others it hasnt, Folk go on about his successful ventures, im sorry but a successful venture for Mr Whyte is running a company to the ground and running away with the money made from selling off the assets as a secured creditor whilst screwing everyone else!!

That said, in the case of HMRC v Rangers, if the case goes against them then they will still bounce back, and struggle badly for a few years, and maybe even have to rack up new debt to get themselves sorted albeit this time it would be manageable depending on how depleted the squad would be after a possible firesale as they would need to get back to being sucessful straight away. and with the current competion who can blaim them for being slightly confident that that could be the case.

Do not let the distractions of our rivals problems interfere with the situation we have at Celtic.
Another game without a win - including the mandatory comedy defending - and bottom of the group must spell the end of the line for NL.
A lot of posts on here are pre-occupied with BBC documentary and Tax evasion matters while we seem content to settle for European oblivion and 3rd place in the mediocre SPL.
This manager and team do not have the winning mentality and flair associated with The Hoops and every week we worry and wonder what to expect no matter what the opposition? When has this become acceptable for Celtic Football Club?

I agree with everything said Jim. Worrying times in Paradise and any other manager would be hounded out by now. Signings woefull, football not much better. Lennon well past his settling in period. Its time for the results to come or he has to take the consequences.

...well that was a bit of anti climax ...... title "rangers inside story" content .... Craig Whyte character assasination. As you said ed not a lot we didnt already know, lets not forget this was all one side of the arguement. There is only one person in that whole documentary i would have listened to and that was Alistair Johnstone. This guy was not part of the board that put us in this mess in terms of financies he was brought in to help, he is a true gers man and i know that personallly. His biggest worry was that Whyte didnt show hard evidence of the money he had the rest was more how he was then treated after the takeover.

However it doesnt change a thing, were still waiting on the tax bill ....... and i if u think for 1 minute that rangers(if proven guilty) will get hit for the full bill then you just dont know how this works .... if proven guilty a deal will be arranged (and gers will go into admin) even graham speirs (w4nk) who has a severe disliking of rangers (well Old Firm)has a feeling that Whyte will avoid paying the tax man any money. Finacially WE WILL be snookered for the next few years regardless of what happens however, and I am very certain of this Rangers will come out stronger at the end of this. Granted this will prob be once Whyte has gone but i genuinely believe he wont be here long he will be looing to sell on for a profit ASAP. And a debt free gers will be easy to sell if they owner only paid a quid for it.

Germinator (in work and cant look at the post as i type it so it may be a bit all over the place !)

Germinator, if I was one of you bears I would be very worried about the character of person running my club, I know he has said he will sue BBC, but did you see report about the Insolvency Service who investigated his past companies, he was BANNED for 7 years, and when asked about this part refused to comment, his silence says more than any words could. Whyte has shown that eh takes over companies tha are at risk and turns a profit on them. I noticed how it made an allegation of him owing 500k to a company and very quietly added "he did actually pay the money" and also mentioned one deal he made a 5m profit, thy were nevr gonna show all the companies that he turned around and saved, sold on. All they were able to do was insinuate many things nothing was really proved that would affect the gers. It could be argued that in the scenario we are currently in there isnt a better person for taking the club fighting thetax man and selling on for a profit. i ahve yet to see a single person come out (from anyone outside rangers aswell) and say that they will/should lose the tax case.
Whyte could gers to totally restore his rep in UK after his past if he turns gers around sells them on for profit he will be hailed as a business savvy genius. And it is very possible he will be able to do this.

Ill wait and see what develops he ont be here long i reckon but i aint gonna be niave enuf to make any decisons on my own about this as I have no were near enuf understanding or info infront of me to make an educated decision.

here's a thought, what will happen to this page if rangers win the tax case will this site have to go into administration?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Eh? makes no sense to me even as a joke! unless i am completley missing something! as i am having one of those vacant days!

site is already adminstrated by the Ed's and anyone else in the background who looks after the site.

Im also presuming that this is not a company as no .com domain or the site not being called footballrumoursplc.co.uk for example. so therefor could not go into administration.

I also presume given any outcome on the tax case this site will be busy and will be being administrated by the Ed's etc..

Really WTF does that mean! is it an attempt at a windup ? what? !

Ed or anyone ! any ideas??

Personally I think there should have been " A lucky loser "pick a club out of the hat" thing for entrance into the Europa league once Sion had been found guilty,would have been fairer in my opinion }

do you mean out of every team . If so i disagree,
the players who where not supposed to play played against celtic , so celtic where the team with the injustice against them , so i agree with the law which states the team would then lose the game 2-0 .

Just as i beleave FIFA should have done more against marseille in 93 when they where found guilty of match fixing . Rangers should have been compensated by fifa over the game or a match against milan also with marseille banned .

I'm a celtic fan and i do beleave this is first time a scottish team has got a major secision in there favour from UEFA . EVERY time a decision had to be made the official turned there back . such as balde's hand ball against Lyon , ref culdn't wait to give the penalty , done celtic out of the last 16. Ameruso's dive at Juventus done us out of the last 16, hand ball by ( i think Maldini ) where as everyone else could see it annd the ref was 5 yards away but the ref turns away then kaka scores in extra time witch done us out of the quater finals. Also the Penalty which was given against us v man u which they missed before naka scored . And there is many more.

And i'm sure any Rangers fan can come on and list many too.

I for 1 am just happy with another crack at it , not just for the good for us but for scottish football as we need to get points from somewhere.

Celtic have been given 2 wins against sion , 1 lose and 2 drews in europe this year so the points system is looking better for scotland at least.

Undeserved result for Celtic tonight, got played off the park and Neil Lennon celebrated it like it was a win (HAHA). Still will finish bottom of the table, i'd put my house on it, Celtic fans even gloating about being in Europe means they've stooped to a new low, it's embarrassing.

So Celtic fans have stooped to a new low ( that's great) . this must be coming from a very bitter rangers fan who must cringe at the sight of celtic still being in europe .

Celtic are still in europe because UEFA rules state the other team cheated because they played players who where not supposed to play .

But you never know this might be a fair minded Rangers fan who beleaves that celtic have been unfairly put back into the Europa League due to a Unfair bias from UEFA in celtic favour.

In saying that this rangers fan must only celebrate 53 Rangers title instead of 54 as Dumbarton FC and Rangers FC shared the league in 1890 but record books show that both teams finished on 29 points Dumbarton scored 61 Goals for and against only 21 so they finished on +40 , Rangers only scored 58 and against 25 so only +33 . Fair is Fair in his opinion.

well in my opinion the history books show rangers have 54 which is fair enough as it was the rule's back in the day . So it also show's celtic are still in Europe due to the rule on this date .

Rule's are Rule's no matter how unfair they may seem . so when celtic play in europe if your blood is boiling just turn over the tv and watch the news.

sorry to all rangers fans for the old history cr*p but i was just making a point that everyone has to live by the rule's . no matter what team you are. {Ed003's Note - Personally I think there should have been " A lucky loser "pick a club out of the hat" thing for entrance into the Europa league once Sion had been found guilty,would have been fairer in my opinion }
