Heard Hartson sharing common opinion that we don't work so well with both LG and MD up front together. While I think that we will have enough time to really assess this over the rest of the season, I would agree that for the next two games at least, it would be best to start with Leigh and bring Moussa on for last half hour-by which time RIFC would hopefully have been run ragged. Even with KT, Rogic, Forrest etc out, we still have enough too chose from and are doing alright despite Clyde fm's suggestion of us being in a slump.

Personally. After his two performances versus Sevco, I'd start Dembele. Good problem to have all the same.

I read a tweet from Hartson just this morning saying he would play both?!

Know what your saying but ad say grifiths strikes fear into them just as much as dembelle.

having watched the games we have played 2 up front, it just does work for us as TR and SA run into each others space. The balance of the team is wrong when we do it.

One thing that really annoys me about football in general is when a player makes a couple of mistakes, been an absolute solid player all season, but that one mistake throws everyone off. I'm talking in regards of simunovics performance last night. Seen a lot of Celtic Fans on Twitter slagging him off. This lot evidentially don't watch every game and must not be that obsessed with Celtic like most of us. Put it this way, he's nowhere near the class that is ambrose for making mistakes. Still young, and is a real talent. I'd be more than happy with sviatchenko and simunovic in our squad playing at the back for the long run.

{Ed007's Note - It's the main reason that not many youngsters make it at Celtic. A large section of the support immediately want players dropped or even sold for making a mistake or missing a chance in front of goal. They don't give the youngsters time to learn and develop and unless you play like Messi every week you're classed as not good enough.
I was delighted to see us win with a team containing only 5/6 first team 'regulars' last night, it shows the depth of our squad and I'd rather see players like McGregor or Henderson than Bitton in the team.}

Pipe down mate. I thought he was rotten against Dundee too but that's just my view

Him and shevi IMVHO are a little soft centred and need to learn to growl and snarl a little more

I'm with you, they get more right than wrong which is a step in the right direction BUT just as too many are too quick to condemn, many many are far too quick to glorify

Boyh persuasions are inaccurate and unhelpful.

Just seeing people on twitter ParadiseWon that are wanting him sold and stuff. "Take the money and run" style of comments. Honestly don't know what some supporters are thinking. But aye, Spot on Ed!

It always amazes me how many champion the fact the lions all came from Glasgow but seem to write off Scottish talent as soon as they have a below par performance.

Nothing makes me more impressed than a home grown Scottish player who cuts it a the top level.

Players such as macgegor will make mistakes from time to time but give their all when they're on the pitch.
Last night we had home grown players developing their skills and getting a result.

As for Simo - young player we will do well to keep. For me, one of the best bits of the last transfer window was his failed medical.

Hail Hail.

I thought janko deserved a chance but after the HBS game he got slated on here and fired out on loan.

It's a shame it seems the youth players at celtic have to hit the ground running like Tierney and if they don't there up against it.

We all know MR Stien was ahead of his time 50 years plus at least. the s. f. a. have only caught up, by discussing to allow the colts to play in the top tier leagues, What a man, Still miss him.

First of all, I think it was pretty poor for Miller to be put in a different position on his debut as he definitely struggled at times. The team performance wasn't great but the confidence that we're still going to win when we play poorly is the big change from last season. Also have to say fair play to Partick Thistle, that's probably the toughest game anybody's given us at home this season and it's surprising they find themselves bottom of the league. Couldn't really see from my seat in the Jock Stein but they had a couple of second half penalty claims as well which could have knicked them a draw. We're ticking over, still winning and I expect a uch improved performance on the 31st.

Going off some of the things BR has been saying it sounds like KM will be playing LWB again?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2016 16:04:40
He obviously quite likes the thought of him at LB but on the basis of last night he was completely out of his comfort zone. Couple that with the fact KT is on his way back makes it an odd one. I just think if you're giving him his debut it's fairer to play him in his natural position to give him some confidence, a debut to forget.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Rodgers sees Miller as a LB/LWB so he is playing him there. This is exactly like some of the strange things he used to do at Liverpool with young players - it was called being 'Brendaned'.
If Miller doesn't see himself as a LB then he won't be near the squad and will need to move on for his own good.}

21 Dec 2016 18:15:34
It's a strange one especially as LB is the last position we need to improve. BR has played Armstrong in his natural position and he's reaped the benefits. If a player isn't doing great during games but shows signs they'd be suited to a different position then fine, work on that, but it seems like a bit of a vanity project to me to put him straight into an unfamiliar position.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - The lad's still only 18/19 so he should be able to adapt - if he wants to of course - and I hope it works out for the player's sake but it'll be the first of some really strange decisions that will happen as time goes on under Rodgers imo.}

21 Dec 2016 19:42:17
If the manager decides the player is going to play in a certain position then of course the player needs to try his best to do that but this is a player who was apparently the best in the world for his age a few years ago and not as a left back.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I had forgotten about that.}

21 Dec 2016 19:58:38
I'll wait and see how it goes but I think if Ronny had tried something similar there would be a lot more murmuring. Anyway, another 3 points in the bag is the most important thing! HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It would have been a meltdown if RD had done that (rofl)

22 Dec 2016 13:37:33
Calvin Miller from what I heard has been playing/ training at that position for a wee while now.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2016 14:17:25
BR has seen something in him to change his position and has moved him accordingly.
Only 2 weeks ago my boy who is only 16 told me that Miller was being moved there and lo and behold he turns up in the 1st team in that position when my understanding was he was a more forward thinking player.

Dalglish was a goalie when young so u never know, and if u have to adapt to make it then u adapt, if u good enough u will make it.
Sorry ed but I can't agree with the young players don't make it because of the crowd.

Celtic supporters have always been kind to the youngsters and I can't think of any young player who has had a hard time at Celtic park, or didn't make it because of it.
If they good enough their old enough.
