hi Ed i took our advice this time and let the dust settle before i posted. Again i watched the match online, sitting here in my house with my new away shirt on praying for a good show.... low and behold am left disappointed We played great stuff up until we got into the final third (except for big Dan) then it breaks down?? I aint gonna single out any player because the whole team where particularly s*** apart from maybe Wanyama. Surely Thursday and today proves that the biscuit tin needs to be smashed open and a proper number 9 needs to be sought out and purchased ASAP As for these so called fans calling for NL's head, have a word with yourself, think back 2years (apprx) look at how much of a shambles we were, NL hs brought this club back some pride, weve had some bad results i agree (not many tho) but in general weve improved massively. He needs time and a bit of cash to invest and ive got FAITH he'll get us back were we belong.... Top of the pile. HH paul79 {Ed007's Note - It's better to let the dust settle Paul, if we can see the problems so can NL. He inherited players that are poor at best, it will take time but after last season who can say we are not going in the right direction. Just like last season, this season will be close.}

some of the fans on here are a disgrace its the first loss of the season and already you are wanting lennon sacked.

Evening Ed. Was listening to clyde 1 on the way home from the game 2day and Mark Guidi said that its common knowledge among the press that Neil Lennon was not the driving force behind the signing of Daryl Murphy last summer. U ever hear anything about that? Think that was an astonishing statement, just got me thinking about how much control Lennon has over the signing policy at Parkhead.

Drew {Ed007's Note - Mark Guidis a fool. Tell Him I said that.}

I'm not coming on here to call for Lennon or board to be sacked or players to be sold, but truth is if we are gonnae say the team ain't playing well cos 3/4 players are out then I'm sorry but that's not good enough.Thursday final third was non existant and today the whole team never turned up,players HAVE to be signed(qaulity)and players have to LEAVE.it really is as SIMPLE as at.the whole team is just so inconsistant...aarrrgh.....Just can't help but think
we are waiting to see what rangers do rather than go all out and guarantee LEAGUE and ESPECIALLY a right good run in EUROPE...

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Players cant leave they have to be sold trouble is no one wants them cos there poor. celtic over pay so these clubs wont bother with these players. clubs from championship sold these players they know how poor they are

my mate just texted me he works in the radisson blu hotel birminham . he has just seen peterlawell and several other men go into a conference room , they came in a side enterance. My mate isnt a celtic fan but he said there were already people in the room before lawellarrived but didnt see who they were. perhaps a big signing or maybe oneal on his way back? {Ed007's Note - How did he know what Peter Lawwell looks like? Ryan O'Neal? Birmingham? Lenny Henry? Jasper Carrot? The plot thickens!!!!!! Please keep us updated with all the other random people your mate sees, I am totally intrigued by this because a guy that looked like AF was seen at Celtic Park today trying to sell a player called Rooney? I have searched and searched but can't see anything but there was a guy in the chip shop swears he is Elvis.}

Ok guys a terrible performance today but look at he positives 1) hopefully now the board can see what is obvious to everyone else..we need a good seasoned target man/finisher

2)lenny didnt use murph or sammy which shows a lack of trust in them

3)we have hopefully aired some home truths to everyone watching ...we arent playing well.

this is a wee shock but lets be honest it was comin time to show us what yer made of lenny and the board

to start with why the f*** did we sign forster hes nothing better than zaluska , playing wanyama centre half ? his old club said he isn't a centre half , he said he ISN'T a centre half but lennon thinks aye f*** it centre half for you son ? why brown right mid is it just me or the last 2 games hes been right mid hes actually been more central clearly indicating he DOSE'NT want to play right mid ? then commons he's don't see why lennon keeps playing him this season hes been atroish he hasn't done nothing to impress me this season maloney why is he playing upfront and we still insist on playing high balls into the area when we have no tall striker but we have 2 sitting on the bench ? now ye can slag murphy all ye want but he wins headers something we needed today and then f***ing paddy mccourt everybody shut up about him hes woeful av seen paul telfer play better board need to get there finger out and help lenny

Ok - so in the unlikely event the board do put their hand in their pocket before the window closes, who should we sign?

Every big name we get linked with is either out of our price range or not interested. So what realistic targets do we actually have?

Could Wanyama be the CB we need to partner Kelvin Wilson and save us on spending there?

what about Leon Best for a target man?

(Personally I'd like to see Rasmussen get a chance, but for some reason Lenny really doesn't fancy him)

Fabio Aurellio on loan for LB cover until Emilio is fit?

It's proving pretty difficult to target quality players who are realistic to our budget and position - do you not think this may be the reason why we haven't signed anyone?

were all in agreement we need to add quality - but I don't think anyone can honestly agree on who.

How come when Celtic get badly beaten, that Rangers are suddenly deemed to be world beaters. Ally Mcoist suddenly becomes a tactical genuis, and all the poor results before this are forgotten. This phenonemon also happens the other way around, i remember Gordon Strachan having a nightmare start, but as soon as Rangers had a few bad Results everything was rosy again. I expect the papers will be full of how it's all falling into place for Ally now, and how Lenny is under severe pressure. The thing is though, one team being bad, does not make the other team good.

Fair point, but Rangers did play well today.. The fact is, Rangers have the easier tie on thursday and i reckon they will win and progress. we have a tricky game, winnable but it wont be easy and after todays performance i wouldnt bet on us doing anything over there.

I think this defeat today could be a blessing in disguise. Maybe now the board will get their finger out and buy some quality players. 3 would do, LB, CH, CF. But 2 strikers would be amazing. Better now than when the transfer windows closes. Cmon Lawell get us some QUALITY. ---IrvineBhoy.

On holiday in America a tourist runs into a fiercely burning building and spends 10 minutes searching for a 10 year old scottish boy from aberdeen, he finds boy and pulls him to safety, boy is ok but tourist ends up in hospital with 40% burns all over his body, next day the Aberdeen father visits guy in hospital and asks "are you the guy who pulled my son from burning building" yes says the guy weakly still racked in pain, "did you see his £300 trainers" asks the Aberdonian

i was disappointed today but feel if the penalty had been scored it would have been 4-0 or 5-0,however it didnt and the atmosphere was v flat apart from green brigade section. in relation to the team i feel as though scott brown and ki are the only players from midfield who were not chasing shadows ,young matthews was having a fine game at full back and wanyama done ok forster needs to be more commanding of back four. if we could loan a top out and out experienced striker who has maybe lost his way a bit we could salvage europe and league. but we should never lose faith hail hail

I was at the game today and, needless to say found the performance a real concern. I won't repeat what everyone else is saying. I think we are all agreed on the need for a striker etc. My reason for posting though is a story I heard on Clyde 2 on the way down the road. Basically Jim Delahunt and mark Guidi (I think) were suggesting that Daryll Murphy was not bought by Neil Lennon. As they put it, he was not the driving force behind. the inference was it was Dermot Desmond. CLearly they didnt want to say too much on it, presumlbly some of the information was given to them in confidence. This however is the most worrying thing for me. I've long suspected interference from the board and there is NO WAY players should be foisted on the manager. If true its a disgrace. NL stated through the week that he hadnt been able to afford the wages of one of the SION players we had on trial last December. Interesting then that we managed to waste a load of cash on Freddie Ljungberg the next month. Im not suggesting the NL doesnt pick the team or that he wasnt responsible for the rest of our signings - he clearly was (along with scouts). That said, this is unacceptable as far as Im concerend. Any thoughts ed, anyone?

Watched the game today ed, same story as Thursday lacked that clinical striker up front, we don't have to go looking for a big striker to partner stokes or hooper as proven this season and last both work well together but Maloney just isn't Celtic class any more. No idea what people see in Mccourt one trick poney run down the line try and cut in to get a shot off - greedy, get rid of him to the first buyer, Commons lacked as well is it me or does he look like he has put on some weight? We do have players out, I think Wanyama is one for the future rather than just now and needs time to settle. Maybe bring in a CB and St. Could maybe look into a loan CB for now but I fancy Alf to fight for a place with stokes and hooper. What do you think?

Chad {Ed007's Note - I have said for months, there is no 'Plan B' with the players we have Chad. We have no physical presence up front.}

Celtic are in desperat need of a quality striker. And its going to cost arounnd the 4m mark. Look at big jelivic at rangers defenders are terrified of him Celtic however have nobody like that to stike fear into the oppisision. Celtic need a win desperatly on Thursday even just for a boost to the confidence of the players.
{Ed007's Note - Why are Rangers defenders terrified of Jelavic? Is he taking their lunch money off them? That is bang out of order, he could have bought the club for £1 but he is scaring his team mates, bullying is bullying}

100% spot on. Hooper 9 times out of 10 knows where stokes is goin to be before he even gets the ball and vice versa. Their inter-play is fantastic but stokes looked extremely frustrated today with no-one picking out his runs.

first time poster.
just back from the game today I know most people have stole my thunder but its blatenly obvious the problems we have and the signings that are needed.

Back 4 - generally ok but a left back is needed badly for cover until Izzy returns. Majstorovic is a bomb scare as every one can he his distribution is terrible could maybe do with another decent centre half to partner k. wilson.

midfield players are good but we consistently play with a midfield full of central midfielders no natural wide players. Mccourt should be playing in games like this to keep him involved and give width to the team which is badly needed. Forrest is total drawers no end product whatsoever. Fast winger with a final product is needed.

The most important signing must be a big target man whos good with his back to goal and linking up with hooper and/or stokes. The ball doesnt stick up front as we dont have any bheight or strength. Sammy is rotten. Stokes only seems to play well when hooper is playing. He doesnt produce the goods without him.

Sorry for the rant bhoys just needed to clear my thoughts lol. {Ed007's Note - Rants are welcome mate/miss. Welcome to the site}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi Ed007, I am hoping this defeat will open purse strings at Celtic park, the board have let the fans down too often in the past. Todays game just proved we need quality in, Maloney is finished, Commons has been poor since start of season. Board must do one of two things or both firstly give Lennon cash to buy 2-3 players and then shift out deadwood to free up wages. But strangely I feel optimistic for season as I think we will get new players in and starting on thursday get a good european run going.
Hail hail Timalloy (ps "problems" and me sticking up for you earlier I feel some jokes coming your way) {Ed007's Note - You might as well, the day can't get any worse!}

Ed007 I will take pity on you, anyway when we Celtic fans have a bad day like today who pops up but "wee Pat" we should all thank him for brightening our sad day today. I said last week let pat give team talk. hail hail timalloy

As long as they can take it back it is fine by me, you all know that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason you are getting laughed at by us bluenoses is that you have tried poking fun at the champs all summer- ironic as you lost title after title. Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007 just looked at court list, will not mention name but take it from me this will NOT go full distance, this is usual shot across the bows legal dealings, this chappie knows a lot of things and no way will they want dirty laundry aired in public, an out of court settlement will be done with a privacy clause attached Timalloy {Ed007's Note - His concern is administration before any settlement will be agreed.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I have posted here before but I dont always feel that anybody other than the celtic fans are welcome however Ive no issue with that but my last post did contain the issue of both clubs being in partnership in the future with the shortage of money aand the decline of football ,I was just thinking it would be a powerful alliance financially and would have a big support ( I m not a zoomer) as Ive been told Im an agnostic so the issue that spoils it all for both clubs doesnt come into it for me but if as was suggested that the clubs have worked behind the scenes together for a while then Id welcome that as progress although both sets of fans would not.

And don't forget your exceptional manager who won lots of trophies...oh wots that, he's won nowt 43mil worth of players (as some people claim on here) and a top drawer manager. Ha ha. Hello fellow hoops. Its my first time of writing on this site but I feel compelled to vent my spline after another poor performance today. We were toothless infront of goal and desparately need a top quality striker. We controlled the match in terms of possesion, but offered absolutely no threat off of crosses or corners. This is the worst set of strikers I have seen at celtic for many a year (Hooper perhaps being the exception but even that is up for debate when you compare him to strikers of the past, I could comfortably name 6/7 that have a better goal to game ratio). I'm not hitting the panic button, but unless the board wake up, it will be another poor season for us. Take a punt on Le Fondre and break the bank for De Nigris or Santa Cruz {Ed007's Note - Welcome mate/miss.}

1st time poster here Ed. Wot a difference a week makes haha. Yeah guys the last 2 results have been poor and not wot we want or expect but let's be realistic, we have no/little money at best, our scouts have found valuable assets in Kayal,Izzy and Hooper. We clearly don't want to lose them however in the current climate we have to keep the heads above water so casualties will occur at sum stage. Finally let's remember the old adage, if u pay peanuts u get monkeys'
We're a few weeks into the season so lets all just chill for a bit at least till the close of the window

How things Ed? Iam also disapointed with todays result but we had enough chances to win 2 games so there should be no excuse. We look short of confidence/composure in front of goal at the mo. Ed do you think we need a bit more flair in the team?, someone who can turn a game. Imo i think todays result will force the board into getting the cheque book out...so heres hoping

I completely aggree mate, we're missing that creative spark in the middle of the park. Someone who can take the ball forward and play that decisive pass at the right moment. Ki is excellent but he's a more natural anchorman who will sit that bit deeper. I honestly think we may have to sell b4 we buy or else it wud have been done by now.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was at the game and don't remember the masses of chances folk keep going on about. Sure, there were some, there always will be but out play was ponderous, lacked an ugency. Nobody was looking for the ball, nobody moved, nobody closed opponents down, and I'd argue nobody cared (enough). Their heads aren't in it, they don't have a winning mentality and shouldnt be playing for us. Fully agree we badly need a striker(s) though.

Hi Ed, hope this could be the 1st post i get. Today's result was shocking, we cant use injuries as an excuse , especially after what Rangers just did to Motherwell with a full squad, injured/suspended or with no work permits. Fans get carried away with 1 good result against Dundee Utd. Aberdeen were unlucky against us, Sion will beat us on thursday and we already have to rely on other teams to take points of Rangers , cos we certainly wont with this squad. Centre Half and a Hartson/Sutton type forward urgently needed before its too late.

It's not a rumour, but after today's game I hope Mr.Desmon and Mr.Lawell realise we need to spend money. All these loan deals are no good because no player really wants to play in Scotland and constantly offering players trials is a bit of a joke - surely we've had scouts watching them to see if they're good enough to warrant the trial offer, so why can't we just take a chance on a couple of them? Truely shocking display today overall. New centrehalf and new prolific goal scorer desperately needed. We are Celtic FC and we deserve better

Hi edd, first time poster, I enjoy Reading the site, I can't believe how many (watch this space, I know a guy who knows a man, there are), but worst of all are the ones who say why don't we sign cruz? Keane? Messi lol? do Celtic fans not realise that although historicaly and culturaly and fan based we are a massive club, but financialy we are bottom drawer Nobody in there right mind would sign for us when they could kick there heels in England for double the money 'mon' the hoops {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site mate.}
