Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

Gamboa benko boyata kt
Ntcham broony
Forrest calmac/ rogic sinky
Eddy/ griff

Time to go back to 433/ 4231. Drop rogic and start playing with wingers again. Lustig has to be dropped for a considerable length of time, he is shocking.

At least we got the 3 points but we really arenent creating anything anymore. Also another game with corners and not one decent cross. Surley 1 training session on corners would solve this nonsense.

I would like us to go to a 3 5 2 either way we definitely be better and have more options playing with two strikers imo. Possible line up

Gordon
Boyata Benkovic Tierney
Forrest Nitcham Brown McGregor Sinclair
Eduoard Griffiths.

No chance Kwaj. KT at the left of a three would limit his ability to bomb forward which would give us a real problem.

3-5-2 would give us the width and attacking options to get behind these constant packed defenses and create more, but we need to make sure it's the perfect defensive combination (with pace) that doesn't allow opponents to exploit any gaps, as we recently saw Ajer struggle when he played right of a back three.
However three at the back would leave a lot of defenders surplus, when we have Lustig, Gamboa, Ajer, Boyata, Simunovic, Benkovic, KT and Izzy; (not including Compper) .

Do you think we'd get the best out of Tierney without being exposed Kwaj? He's our star man right now. We need him right up the pitch providing width, getting balls in the box and allowing the likes of Sinclair to come inside where he can have an impact.

Would need to try it and see Jim Tim imo. However having Ajer centrally with Benko and Boyo ha ha could have Tierney wide instead of Sinky who drops to bench. Also think that defensive trio has pace strength and ability to cope. Would allow KT license to run amok with 2 strikers in the box. Also getting fed up with griff taking corners need him in the box.

I think it's common to mistake the formation on paper and where players actually play. Take the 'back four' last night for example. Tierney plays as a winger when in possession and Lustig tucks in, essentially forming a back three, only going forward when opportunities present themselves. Playing it as he sees it. That's fine enough for me. With the exception of not developing Ajer over Benkovic when fit.

21 Sep 2018 12:17:14
JimTim we don't want Sinclair inside. He's not effective there. Get him wide and one on one with the full back where he is dangerous.

I would like to see Sinclair wide right to use his pace to get in behind defenders, although this would be no use with eddy as focal striker as quite clearly he like to play off someone and drift in from left so for me it has to be griff up top and eddy instead of Rogic.
I would play brown with Mulumbu in the engine room with ntcham a bit further forward.
I think this could give us a bit better balance in the team.

Kev I'm not trying to insult your intelligence here asyou come across as one of the more sensible posters. But honestly man, have a look on youtube at SS's goals from 16/ 17 to refresh the memory mate. He's absolutely effective in central areas. He was pretty much playing as a striker.

For me griffiths must start at the weekend. These last 2/ 3 games I've watched, Edouard has done absolutely nothing. Now unless griffiths turns up for training and sits on his arse eating tea cakes while the rest knock they're pans in then he surely must be given the next few games ahead of Edouard. I've seen nothing of Edouard to suggest to me he's better and is more deserving of a starting slot than griffiths.

Said last week it was time to take him out for a few games and give griff a run as well as sinc and rogic also needing rested absolute passenger and wee Callum much more effective from central areas.

Said on here before, nothing wrong with a long ball now and again. What happens? Brown launches it, Boyata wins header, griff scores. I think were trying to hard to pass our way through all the time, when the answer is just to throw it in and see what happens. We make a simple game look very hard at times. But a wins a win, keep getting results and the form will return. 👍.

Totally agree, it’s all very well passing the ball about, retaining possession but if there’s no end product then I’m all for a long diagonal ball being launched forward if that’s what it takes to shake it up a bit. We’re becoming to predictable with our play, it’s needing a shake up.

End product of passing about comes in two ways . Opponents cannot score when we are passing the ball amongst our midfield and back 4 or back 3 .
End product comes about when a player in front of team - mate passing the ball gets himself in space and is able to pass to another player with an opportunity of score or assist . Time is not important as it only takes a few seconds to scorec.

Job's done. Workmans performance, controlled the game and had best chances without being thrilling. Very one paced most of the game.
Sinclair, mikey and the griff all lifted the pace and made a huge difference.

Rogic is an empty shirt and has to be benched now.
Only plays for himself when he actually decides to do anything at all.

The Celtic team lacks creativity in midfield, have been saying for years give Allan a chance, I would also give Mulumbu some game time,

Am talking about the league as Allan not in Europa squad.

Allen is not good enough
Never was and never will be.
We sent a better player to hibs on loan in Henderson then let him leave for a pittance.

I'd give Allan game time, sure. Mulumbu too. If they could be rolled into one player I think we'd have something there! Horses for courses.

Aindoh I agree mate, I can't remember the opposition but Allan came off the bench in a Europa league game and was the best player on the park. There is definitely a player in Allan👍.

21 Sep 2018 22:08:30
I remember Allan coming off the bench and showing for a short corner and then turning his back to the ball as it came to him and our opponents got the ball ran nearly the length of the field and scored the winner .
I know Aindoh that it is hard to see details like that watching on radio .
When we are taking players outside of our first team pool, I think we should go for some as youth.

Did anyone else notice after lee scored and Sinclair was congratulating and rubbed his head quite hard, the wee man looked like he tried to nut him, think the wee man was a bit annoyed that he had pulled his weave off lol.

Griff seemed angry and serious in general even at final whistle a bit over the top aye we get the you want to play all the time but you were one of the big three strikers at the club last year who were out scored by jamesy and sinky so get yer finger out and score some goals and put the petted lip away. Still too may side passes I would give sinky a run we seem a higher tempo with him in team Ntcham in Rogic role Mulumbu beside broony.

Griffith's was good last night and did very well for his goal. However over the last year or so he has played many times and has often been very poor . He isn't a bad choice nor is he our only choice.

January is a must for Celtic now after top management have assessed how the last transfer window went to get out players that are not getting a chance I. e Allan Bennie kouassi (loan) Hayes. Compper who can go the now never mind January. I would Loan Hendry out to play regular football DeVirse out. For some of these players it's just wasting their very short careers away for the likes of Allan I would've been saying to the club Loan me or sell me I would even help force that with helping to financing it myself. For the love of God these guys must be fighting to play football cause it's every boys dream to play football but sitting in the stance is no good to them get them out for their sake as much as Celtic.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Sep 2018 17:27:02
Although January is the more limited 'window', we certainly need to 'get shot' of a few before we recruit better quality.
I think if we had done the reported business with Aberdeen and Hibs, we would already be without Christie, Allen and maybe more?
However, in the meantime, we are left with a 'bench full' of players picking up wages for very little and that is not good business.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Sep 2018 22:24:02
Most of the players Rich T has listed should probably move on, but the fact is we can't give them away . I would be surprise if any were prepared to take a cut in wages and if they are not wanted at Celtic then no team in the English Championship would want them and lower level clubs cannot afford this .
Celtic is a big club and some fairly good players arn't able to make the move to play in front of 50,000 + fans some not appreciative.

Brendan will put my EL tips up later this afternoon when I take a closer look but surely a stick on is a yellow card for big laughatme 5/ 2, in europe as More or less has found out, european refs apply the rules unlike Scottish refs who suddenly have dirt in their eyes at any sevco foul.
