This ยฃ11m for ibrokes war chest made me think of something that's bothered me for sometime. If I pay an employee ยฃ10p/ hr the cost to the business is more like ยฃ13p/ hr after factoring in NI/ pension contribution. So my question is when player wages are spoken of e. g 25k p/ Wk is this factored in?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - In Scotland I think if you earn over ยฃ150,000 p.a gross you pay 45% in tax. That's about my knowledge of it, I invest in Tena and film companies to cover it after taking advice from Jamies ;)

21 May 2017 11:40:51
In answer to your question GE, No it's not so the club meet they obligations . In terms of your big stars in the EPL Like Yaya and Sanchez etc they ask for a NETT figure and let the club gross it up so to speak

The EPL have strict "check's" in place that all contributions to HMRC are being met probably in quarterly reports mate given the fiasco's that happened @ Porstmouth and Leeds

Sadly, Our SFA Don't follow that lead and in actual fact Craig Whyte sought administration given the fact that he had stopped making said contributions after the Malmao defeat in the CL

You really have to "tip your hat" lol to Ed following his "advisor" recently the former vice-chairmen @ Rangers Donald Findlay QC said in court "That SDM had sought FISCAL advice from a FAILED solicitor and a PORN STAR! " That's like phoning a brickie to solve your plumbing problem and a bad brickie at that

So it is in fact all about the movies mate lol (Y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You're just jealous you've not got 'pornstar' on your CV.}

Has anyone read the article from the daily ranger stating and I quote " teirney is a decent player but the best young talent in Scotland is Barrie McKay "! Honestly what are those guys smoking over there. Just bizarre.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

20 May 2017 23:36:26
I'm sure that was their resident Rangers opinion columnist. It was also months ago.

After the season we have had? Treble? Unbeaten or not! Is it not time the bunnet was honoured? We are finally reaping the rewards of all the ground work the wee man put in place, from top to bottom! If the club won't commission a statue, could the fans not raise the funds? Without Fergus we woukd not be in the strength we are now . He wasn't popular at first, but he did what the other mob have failed to do! Build a full infrastructure and allow celtic to grow as a family and a world wide brand .

Believable8 Unbelievable2

20 May 2017 18:48:00
Been banging on about this for ages.
He should have a statue outside the doors beside the other great men.

Agree3 Disagree2

20 May 2017 19:03:34
Did he not bin the idea himself?, heard a story about it a few yrs back, dunno if its true or not.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 May 2017 19:22:06
He came in . Was honest about making his money back, had a 5 year plan and stuck to it . He wasn't interested in what that shower across the city were doing . He put his money where his mouth was, made a few unpopular choices! But what he did for our club will live on in the memories of generations to come! We are celtic ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2017 19:59:00
Spot on Guys a statue is a great idea. And to think he was booed raising the league flag by our own. Suggestion for a Green Brigade banner 'HONOUR THE BUNNET' โ˜˜๏ธ.

Agree1 Disagree1

20 May 2017 20:06:10
No qualms about the bunnet getting recognised at all

Not next though, for me it has to be Tommy Burns next, Ed suggested a while back it should be lennoxtown an that's the best idea he has ever came up with on here lol! (Still wouldn't swap his picture for mine though :-P )

Then a stand for wee Fergus hoopy days all round (y)

Agree1 Disagree1

20 May 2017 20:23:09
If Fergus doesn't want a statue? Then a stand is a great idea Jamie bhoy 7 . Tommy burns will always be a legend but a need to disagree mate! Fergus has given us a platform to grow from strength to strength. As the wee man said, it would have been cheaper and easier to start again! But the embarrassment and shame is not what the celtic fans deserve! The bills were paid, the stadium built and now we are making history on well laid foundations.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2017 21:25:51
guys, we all have come to realise what Fergus did for our club.
Over the years it has been suggested that we recognise we he achieved
Ed has stated in the past that Fergus is a very humble person and would not really want that. Having said that in sure that will come in due course:
Jamie: Great point mate, "Tommy Burns Training Academy " now that sounds not too shabby .
For Fergus it has to be a stand.

Just had this thought from the start of next season, for each month we name Celtic Park after a Lisbon Lion until every player/ Manager has had his name over Celtic Park.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2017 23:38:06
Still think we should have a bunnet day where everyone wears a bunnet for the match possibly now the first home game next season to honour the Man.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2017 00:24:34
Think it would be fitting if we all wore bunnets at the cup final. How fitting to honour the wee fella when we are on the verge of something very special hopefully. Its all because of his vision and determination. His heart must be bursting with pride at how his plan has developed. I worked at CP back then and he seemed to cut about a lot on his own always had a hello for everyone, even if people found him a little unique, I found him quite comical. He was definitely his own man. Without wee Fergus, there is no Oneill, No Henrik, Sutton, Bobo, Seville, Treble, Champions League nights. To imagine what it feels like to not have a Fergus just take wee look over at the tribute act with the crook at the helm. let's have a Fergus Final.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2017 00:34:20
Naming a stand isn't enough for me.
Got to be a statue right next to the good brother big jock and wee jimmy.

Loved his comment about the three amigos, and do you know the way to San Jose.

21 May 2017 10:43:30
How about the main stand front doors being named the Fergus McCann entrance with a bust of him just inside the foyer as you go in .

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2017 15:03:32
I have been thinking of an invincible season, and what could stop this happening.
No team in Scotland can live with us, therefore it will take extreme circumstanses for us to fail.
What circumstances you ask, an early sending off for either a defender or goalkeeper. A rash challenge, a dive by Hayes or McGinn. A nervous or anti Celtic referee. All of these are entirely possible it has happen before.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

20 May 2017 16:48:46
That is a new name for the type of bias referees who have been partial against us for years . Nervous referee, that is a joke.

Agree0 Disagree5

20 May 2017 20:42:09
We debated this months ago about an unbeaten season and there was quite a few on here of the opinion they couldn't care less as long as we won trophies which was quite right. but we are now on the cusp of greatness and i think opinion has changed now that we are almost there HH.

Agree1 Disagree1

20 May 2017 22:47:33
Ffs enjoy the moment guy's and don't worry about thing's we can't control or might never happen , we stand on the brink of history once again.

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. I was a young boy and my uncle took me to the 1976 League Cup Final. I remember before the game seeing a paper headline that said 'Nothing can stop the Green Machine'.
We lost 2-1. Who beat us? Aberdeen :- (.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2017 12:45:12
I should add that I'm not being pessimistic. I believe we'll do the treble and remain unbeaten all along the way but experiences like the one I mentioned can be a leveller. HH #COYBIG.

Question 1: Are we all confident that their will be no slip ups against the mob from the East tomorrow? Question 2: Dembelle or Grifiths to start? โ˜˜๏ธ.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 May 2017 14:23:34
Dembele isn't fully fit so has to be Griffiths.

Agree0 Disagree1

20 May 2017 14:31:10
JFP : griff to start, no slip ups mate, we will go at the wee Huns from the getgo, run an absolute mock 6-1.

When we do get the record, unbeaten and a clean sweep of all domestic cups and league : which has NEVER been done by any team before EVER . There must be some sort of recognition from 1) SFA 2) UEFA 3) FIFA which will in turn give some players a bit of thinking to do, they just might want to come and be part of the HISTORY makers.
Because Glasgow is Green and White.

I think tomorrow will be our highest win of the season.

UEFA/ fifa are not interested in any league outside the top 5 so I wouldn't hold your breath.

I'm pretty sure Delbhoy had we not conceeded against St Mirren we could have won both cups without conceeding a goal!

ED007 i fear the fix may already be in place for your home town team Hamilton today. That wee nyaff McCann promising to field strongest team for "integrity" of the league, does he even know what the definition is of integrity.
Then up at Inverness their manager promising "fighting to the death" what about their opponents Motherwell, deafening SILENCE, except wee snippets of "resting" some top team players.
Hamilton will need to do business today themselves on their own, win and they send Caley down.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed007's Note - I'm swithering whether to go down to watch it and give McCann some abuse but the weather's putting me off.}

20 May 2017 22:45:07
Alls well that ends well. Mccann is a future rangers manager, not very good and a bot of a walloper.

My cousin in Boston, although he is a big Boston Celtics fan has been betting with his head in last 2 games against Cleveland Cavaliers, in these two games he has turned $3000 into $12000 he is the type who bets big, wins big but also LOSES big as well, just now his rollercoaster is on the UP.
I don't think I would enjoy my wee bets knowing I stood to lose a bundle.

I think if your player dembelle was to leave for england chelsea would be a good fit he seems to be the type of player they go for like costa n drogba big powerful and an eye for goal n dembelle fits that mould. Just an opinion from a non celtic man.

The enigma that is James Forrest.
Much improved season for him under Brendan, here's a question.
Is he perhaps more suited to a different position? If you take him off the right wing where would you play him? Could he be an attacking wide midfielder? Any other thoughts? HH.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

20 May 2017 08:18:44
I would turn Forrest into a RB with his pace because his final pass/ cross going forward is dreadful.

20 May 2017 08:30:14
You obviously haven't seen him trying to tackle malkybhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2017 09:40:10
Thought he looked very comfortable on the left against thistle.
I would definitely keep him if he keeps this form up. Even if he is for back up and rotation.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2017 09:50:22
If roberts signs he is second choice to him on the rw. and Sinclair on lw . He could soon be overtaking in all positions available to him by the likes of Christie. Miller. nesbitt. johnstone. malky drop lustig. Gamboa who is faster and hinder Ralston to accommodate him? He is having his best season since breaking in to tbe team i agree . but players come to point where they are not going to progress or be the best option for the team and I think jf is approaching that stage in his Celtic career.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2017 16:59:42
There seems to be a higher bar set for home produced players, than those we have bought in accoriding to some fans.
This season although almost perfect domestically has seen some of the knowledgeable faithful decide that James Forrest and C McGregor are not good enough . Fortunately for himself K Tierney has managed to keep his head above this imaginary high bar .
Personally I really love the youngsters coming through and like to give them a wee bit extra support throughout their Celtic careers .
In my opinion it will be our youth of today that will determine our long term success of our club on the pitch . We will always compete at the bottom end of transfer market.

I posted yesterday about the ET doing a magazine tribute to the great Lisbon Lions.
One of the girls pointed out to me that there was NO REPORTERS NAME on this tribute, yet when last week same paper did it "tribute" to the 9 in a row cheaters team, their guy union jack had his name on EVERY page.
It must have hurt every fibre of the H. n bodies to print the Lisbon tribute.
1967 the year that killed Rangers.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

20 May 2017 07:10:52
Tim CJ is an excuse for a journalist, and 67 is the year that killed sevco rught enough, minty cheated to equal our 9 and his next mission was to equal our bug cup achievement, and he put them out of business, and the thing for me is even if the weak sfa don't strip there tainted titles for years of cheating, we will still equal and surpass there league titles but the thing that really hurts them is they know they will never equal what we done that summer day in 67 that's the killer.
