Nice link Ed, just shows u how much technology is influencing the game. would be good to have a look at these stats for the tic n see whos does what.

{Ed007's Note -Thanks, I will see if there is anything like that I can get hold of but I imagine it will be very difficult. See I don't just sit here listening to Rebel songs and "bead rattling" :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed007 you listen to rebel music and bead rattle then wonder why some rangers fans have the wrong idea about you im getting you a media person. god its dark in here sorry for that im in me sand pit big rab by the way {Ed007's Note - I don't need a media person Rab, I am beyond reproach :-)

Jacket pocket, handbag, down a seat or the sofa. Or maybe she is trying to give you a hint if it is your door keys :-)

marquee signins? seriously bhoys we spent nothing last season due to 9 mil for mcgeady theres no champions leauge cash to spend this year its the same old story. and as for bellamy? keep him he couldnt be bothered last year and he is never the player celtic had on loan still do it in the spl but no re sale value and high wages makes me a bit sceptical. {Ed007's Note - Could someone actually explain to me what a "marquee signing" actually is? It seems to be a buzz phrase that has found it's way into football circles. Was Kayal or Izaguirre? Was Jelavic a marquee singing for Rangers or Bougherra? It is a pointless saying that gets threw about to try to belittle other teams signing targets.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm quite happy with unknown signings that turn into marquee ones! Don't want "the "New Amigos" MC {Ed007's Note - Just edited that MC, we agreed not to mention them but that is a good point. Hooper, Kayal and Izzy, who had heard of them? I could vaguely recall Hooper but I wasn't doing cartwheels and look at the 3 of them now, a few more of that calibre will do for me}

Agree0 Disagree0

Basically a big name signing, a marquee signing would be Messi or Ronaldo to a top european team, Our marquee is in the brackets of Craig 'past it' Bellamy. Its a misused phrase

Agree0 Disagree0

Many apologies Ed, i missed that bit! MC {Ed007's Note - No worries, we all agreed no more posts "keane to sign! FACT" or that would get put up, it was wasting the site TBH, surely we have better things to talk about}

Iam a Gers fan thru and thru, I enjoy coming on both sites and having banter with all the Celtic fans on here, especially the ED lol. Would just like to say guys hope next season is a good one for all the correct reasons this time.
KEEP UP THE BANTER FOLKS AS ITS A LAUGH AND THATS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE, BUT I DO HOPE WE GET BETTER PLAYERS THAN YOU LOT THIS SUMMER AND ROLL ON NEXT SEASON, AS WE ALL HATE THIS TIME WITHOUT THE FOOTIE. {Ed007's Note - Thanks mate}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And apoligies about your face comment listed below ED as that was a bit personal, it was not till i hit the button but i thought it funny when typing it APOLIGIES, keep up the good work, as iam away back to our page to see who we are signing, Thanks for the laughs folks, , 4 dose not go into 15, , , that was brilliant lol {Ed007's Note - Don't be daft, it's fine}

Hi Ed, how are u? Just wondering if this De Nigris thing is just a rumour or is there a genuine interest. I've been keeping a wee eye on the GOLD Cup and he's doing very well. He can score headers with his height but he can score the tap ins kind of like kris boyd, which is kind of what we need.
Kevbhoy {Ed007's Note -I'm fine thanks Kev. I would like to sign De Nigris, as you say could be just what we are missing, a threat in the air. Obviously the interest is well known so let's hope it could be a goer}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good to hear. What about that guy Biseswar? U seemed pretty keen on him but its all gone quiet. Those two plus good gk and good cb we're looking at a really solid team for home and abroad :-)
Kevbhoy {Ed007's Note - I don't know what happened or is happening with Biseswar Kev. His agent has stated CFC are interested in him so we'll just need to wait and see}

Agree0 Disagree0

Need to sell Samaras to fund it he's no threat in the air half the time hes ran the ball back to the halfway line to pass to Wilson and by the time the balls whipped in he's never there! {Ed007's Note - I would definitely sell Samaras if a decent offer came in for him}

Agree0 Disagree0

Anymore news on this alleged 3mill offer?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2011 20:02:06
Don't like these links with the likes of Given, Bellamy and McFadden, they are notoriously injury prone and miss huge parts of a season.
Would also like to see funds raised by sale of Samaras, Murphy, Juarez, McCourt and Brown. In my opinion their impact on the team has been minimal and the cash would be better spent on improving the contracts of key players and enticing a couple of real quality additions.
If as reported Liverpool come sniffing round for Ki - who can play a bit - then the board will probably accept (as in the case of McGeady) a good offer.
Although McGeady was an established first choice.
I am sure N.L. will take the club further forward next term and will face the same old obstacles older and wiser

awryt boys im a rangers fan just want to say goodluck on the new season, getting in a few new signing etc, there is some crazy rumours flying about on both old firm pages the now.

i do think use need a new keeper , think foster was a DECENT keeper not the type of keeper who should be at celtic, schmeichel would be some signing but ive heard newcastle are looking at him to and you know who comes out victorious when old firm and EPL teams are battling it out, think use have 3 cracking players in kayal, isiquirre and hooper and should be building the team about them 3 not selling them but i think any bid over 5-7million for kayal or isiquirre and celtic will accept it.(scottish teams cant not reject them bids even if we want to)

and i hope for another good season but would love to win it buy 1 point again :)

anyone else think hearts fine for indiscipline isnt really warranted this year?sfa cite their red card count for the season, but both rangers and dundee utd had 3 players each sent off in one match, yet no large fines were forthcoming.artybhoy. {Ed007's Note - It is for consistently having the worse disciplinary for 6/7 seasons they were fined}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hearts should also face a far worse punishment over the Lennon scenario than Rangers for their singing. Not to mention Craig Browns kick off with Boyle as Lennon got punished for less!

Lennons Lions

Agree0 Disagree0

In all seriousness I don't think a 100k fine is warranted. My guess is that they were given a reduced fine last season (where they were far worse) on the conditions that their discipline improve markedly this season.

This whole fining clubs for indiscipline over an entire season doesn't hold well with me, simply because clubs probably don't keep as much track of cards over the season as they do player performances etc. and some yellow cards are utterly undeserved/given by accident and don't always merit a black mark on the team's collective card count. Challenges by some players are punished based on the referee's mood, or on reputation alone rather than the actual wrecklessness of the challenge itself (Broony and Ian Black immediately spring to mind, as well as Joey Barton and Lee Bowyer in the Prem).

I'd rather see heftier fines for clubs (or players) on a case by case basis. That way it'd keep clubs on their toes week in week out and might stamp out some of the stupidity we see in the game. It might also remove the referee variable (i.e. a yellow for one ref is a red or a telling off for another) which will inevitably affect card counts if it's a particularly heated game and you get a judge and executioner referee.

For example, these could all be punished (or at least earmarked for a review) on a weekly basis and given bigger fines that'd scale to approximately what the end of season thing does:
1) Red card for violent conduct.
2) Red card for a 2 footed tackle leading to injury, with fine depending on the nature and length of the injury.
3) More than 2 red cards for one side in a single game.
4) More than say 12 yellow cards over the period of 4 games for a team.

The first 2 are no brainers and I think may be punished already in one way or another (lengthier bans). The last one in particular though would force clubs to behave in the short term meaning they'd need to do it all season.

I'd even consider going as far as punishing these:
1) On appeal from the opposition club, punish conning of the referee into making a game changing decision which actually results in a goal/opposition card (e.g. red card, penalty, free kick within a 30 yard radius of the goal).
2) Taunting opposition fans (already punishable I think).

My thoughts on the first are that it'd remove pressure from referees and take the focus onto foul play by players. Not all bad refereeing decisions are the result of the referee, who let's remember has to act in some cases on instinct and first impression in a split second. Sometimes play-acting is actually the root cause (Broony/Lafferty, and Broadfoot/3-1 Rangers springs immediately to mind and I'm not saying that as a dig at Bears reading this just that 99% of the readers on here will remember the incidents). To stop managers taking the mick there could be a limit of say 2 on the number of appeals per 2 or 3 months with stupid claims getting an appeal removed (like "challenges" in the NFL where they lose a time-out if they're wrong) OR complain every game if you want but a ban from complaining for X months if it's a waste of the review panel's time. I think this is particularly important as it'd give clubs a decent stand against phantom headbutts etc. and stamp out diving. There'd need to be a strict line drawn though on what's appealable.

Bhoys bhoys bhoys celtic will be signing nobody until they get rid of the deadwood which is 3 quarters of the team. I nearly wt myself when i read izaquirre was worth £15m on this page lol. Divide that figure by four bhoys

That will still make him worth 5 times more than the forces of darkness

I am still waiting for one single apology or at least an acknowledgement from one single Rangers fan over the Hemed story, after the abuse I got from the nameless wonders! One even said it was a lucky guess??}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007 your due an apology it not for the hemed story or the tax case or the buy out as thats your opinion and speculation but for the treatment at the hands of some rangers fans i just hope you can offset that by the debate banter you get from the desent fan who thinks the things that you have received in your mail box is disgusting and wrong but to ask a rangers fan to admit you were right on hamed your having a laugh i suspected without any contact i have telling me anything that the hamed deal wouldnt go through when spanish clubs came a calling he would have been a squad player not worth more than 8grand a week and celtic imo would have done like wise big rab by the way {Ed007's Note - Thanks Rab, I wasn't having a dig at guys like you and other decent fans, the the other stuff doesn't bother me and I look at it that these morons are reading how mature people can discuss things and can maybe change their views as they are obviously reading the posts}

Hi Ed, Great news regarding NL.Think we should go all out to sign Kasper he would be great business for £1 MILLION.Think we should also decline ticket allocation for Tynecastle, as far as i can remember was it not a Hearts moron who invaded the pitch, yet again we are been made the scapegoat, why not cut the home allocation, they don't usually sellout anyway.IN LENNON WE TRUST....HOOPIE007.... {Ed007's Note - I detest Hearts TBH Hoopie. The atmosphere up there is always poisonous, worse than Ibrox IMO. They have been the worst behaved team on the park for 6/7 years maybe? The incident with NL just highlighted the whole scenario around the club. CFC and Rangers are taking the blame for something that isn't entirely their fault. If Rangers can be forced to play a European match behind closed doors for singing why can Hearts not be hammered for a fan attacking a manager? Where is the government inquiry into the Craig Brown/John Boyle incident. CFC and Rangers aren't the only clubs with problems but they get demonised by the media and it is starting to get out of hand. Rant over, sorry and it looks like we have missed out on Schmeichel to Leicester Hoopie mate}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Was there any punishment handed out to Hearts regarding the NL incident, i know they were fined or got a suspended fine for poor discipline....HOOPIE007.... {Ed007's Note - TBH I don't know? I can't seem to find anything, anyone else know?}

Agree0 Disagree0

The punishment is yet to be decided. Can't remember where I read that but I think it was on an article concerning their team's indiscipline leading to a hefty fine by the SFA so can't be more than a week or so ago.

As for the atmosphere I agree - Hearts all too often behave badly in term of chanting against Celtic (the chant against guy that almost died in the stands springs to mind) and on that night was no different. While I don't condone the songs the Celtic fans were singing that night and the supposed attack on the police I think it's explainable considering the majority of it (or at least the obvious apparance of it over the TV) happened after their fan decided to attack Neil Lennon. Before that it was handbags in terms of chanting from both sides and nothing to make a huge fuss over as Hearts have done.

With that said the next Hearts fixture is going to be particularly heated, perhaps more so than the last one as there'll be the usual ["we condone this" but conversely have to talk about it, develop it to build the fixture up, and make sure it's shoved down everyone's throats] media coverage reminding everyone what happened. If temporarily removing some of our ticket allocation reduces problems between the supporters then it might be for the best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very balanced post for you ed, well done. there are a number of clubs with problems but Rangers and Celtic are the ones in the spotlight. salmond and the media need to realise that there is a problem in wider society and football cant be blamed for evrything wrong in Scottish society {Ed007's Note - Thanks very much}

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to agree with you here ed007 smashing piece telling me what i thought about you is on the money good desent person who wants to see the back of the nonsense now how can ANY RANGERS FAN CALL THIS MAN A person and send him crap to trowl through BIG RAB BY THE WAY not to say cant have a bit of fun and banter and im on here going on about respect all the time treat people how you want to be treated even when they think your soft or an eejit i have never named called any fan and never will. dont condone bad behaviour some fans say iam a 90min person not excepable when you look at the last couple of games of celtic and rangers those rotten songs werent song on both sides they were like european nights the fans enjoyed themselfs now thats what footys about thankyou for the good guys {Ed007's Note - If people want to have a serious discussion Rab I am well up for that, even touchy subjects can be discussed in an adult fashion. What other site could you go on and talk about sectarianism etc without it turning into bile filled garbage. Obviously I am going to take a CFCs man point of view but I respect other peoples opinions and views about football and religion but I want to keep them separate as much as possible on here to keep it civil. If someone comes on and wants to have a go at me fine, I have thick skin and can give it out as much as take it, the stuff you guys don't see is just idiots trying to make themselves look smart, and failing miserably. These are the keyboard warriors who the media and authorities are tracking, what people forget is that I see the IP number of very post and could easily pass that information on (I never have and never will). I was even threatened that I was going to get shot the other night over my coverage/comments regarding the Rangers tax case/take over, I didn't know technology had moved on so much that you could send a bullet over the internet lol, I must be getting old. We are getting more popular every day hit wise etc so I must be doing something right. The press etc aren't interested in sites like us, believe me I have tried to contact press, SMPs etc as I have said before. If you type "celtic rumours" into google we are the first page to come up, so we must be going in the right direction, not just us at the sites but all of you, I say it a lot but it is all of yours site as much as mine}

Agree0 Disagree0

As i keep saying to you from a rangers fan to a celtic fan rise above it your better than that and i no you like your quotes well im quoting voltaire :every man is quilty of the good he didnt do.i try my best everyday to treat everyone as a human being wither they deserve it or not and im glad im the person i am big rab by the way {Ed007's Note - Good shout Rab, have a discussion and accept others opinions, you won't go far wrong in life if you do that}

Agree0 Disagree0

I will always listen to your opinion ed007 dont mean i will except it you keep harping on about the up coming tax case i ask why is ed007 always going on about rangers then it hit me i think you have a little rangers dna in you and cant help yourself big rab by the way cheering up ed007 because hes had a hard season {Ed007's Note - I just like to do a bit of dirt digging Rab, not just about Rangers stuff, or even CFC stuff. I also do a lot of work on the Man Utd site too and have built up some good contacts and reliable sources over the years throughout football. No doubt we will cross swords at some point Rab, but it will be an adult debate/discussion, and TBH I look forward to that day. Obviously I am going to take the CFC point of view on things, it is a CFC site but all decent Rangers supporters views and opinions are welcome. As for my DNA Rab, let's just say that my mammy "jumped the wall" :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Im like you ed007 im a mentalist (not mental)predicted an outcome and was proven right but heres the thing most families are mixed so why have we got this problem with the nonsense maybe im missing something or im soft or an eejit but for the life of me i cant fathom it big rab by the the way like ive said before must of got my love of irish and scots folk music from somewhere {Ed007's Note - Mrs Bond is a wall jumper too Rab, how can I hate at my age and my background, bit too long in the tooth for that, but I will still post factual information and my own opinions, whether people agree or not}

Agree0 Disagree0

God i nearly said your saying your mammy is humpty dumpty then i remembered you said she jumped rather than fell lol big rab by the way {Ed007's Note - She is 5ft2 and about 8 stone, but she'd terrify you Rab! Firstly delighted to see Lenny and the backroom staff sorted, I honestly think they deserved it after last season, brilliant to win a cup in his first season.

Secondly been hearing alot of marquee signing get it out your heads till it happens then it feels so sweet, let's just keep it realistic for just now. What we need is a towering CB to deal with the big players which all teams have, a dynamic midfielder incase of injuries again like what happened with kayal n ledley, and a striker really really like the look of this Israel bhoy, not going to attempt his name lol, looks like a neat striker and with a bit of pace the like of striker which is ideal for us.

Jelavic was EVEN FURTHER behind miller! And they both missed about the same time through injury so thats not even an excuse. After this post they'll probably give it the old "Jelavic is the one wae an spl medal" blah blah blah. Hooper was up for player and young player of the year, scored more OF goals and more goals in general. Not to mention he's younger and cost half the price.

Hooper cant even get a game for a sh*te England under 21 team, jelavic is getting games for the croatia first team. says it all really

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper should have been in that squad and everybody knows it. Unfortunately football snobbery prevailed and Hooper didnt get picked because he plays in the SPL. Thats not down to Hooper not being good enough, its down to the English attitude towards our league.
Kevbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Only smeltic fans think hooper should have been in the team, no one else. jelavic is twice the player pooper is {Ed007's Note - How long did they names take you to think up? In the name of God, really??}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hahaha what they like ed? They're ridiculous. Let's see what they say next season when Hooper outscores him yet again!! GBNL

Can i put forward a motion to have every post with the statement, FACT! to not be posted. All it does is make the poster look like a simpleton (unless they are Rangers fans, in which case i apologise profusely to simpletons everywhere for sullying their fine reputation). {Ed007's Note - I can do that no problem, it is annoying I agree}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Totally agree {Ed007's Note - Ok ghuys and ghirls, I'll do that, it's not a problem}

I've had a request granted.

Have my eyes deceived me..or am i actually reading that Rangers are interested in Petric? With Bougherra wanting to leave it's only right they should want to replace him, but SURELY big Gordon's past his best?

If Dermot Desmond said that Neil Lennon would be getting a contract ''for a very long time'' why are they only trusting him with another year rolling contract. Same old Celtic. here we go 4-in-a-row.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Stupid Git.

Most managers work on a rolling contract, it suits both parties. Fat Sally is probably on the same thing. Most likely he'll be given a year with the option of another year if he wants...etc etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would celtic give him a long term deal. Look what happened with mowbray. MON was on a rolling contract aswell so for me its not a problem
Kevbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Early start for the supporters of the forces of darkness today on slavering there usual dross, more interested about us than what they are about whats happening down greyskull way

Agree0 Disagree0

That will be the same rolling contract that martin o neill and gordon strachen was on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rolling contract does two things 1 for neil lennon himself if he decides to leave the goldfish bowl its fairly simple 2 if the club want rid again fairly easy. neil lennon would have to do something really stupid to get the sack end of the day his passion for the club has rubbed of on the supporters and of course the fans love him imo celtic need to get him a media person to help. trouble with some of the things he says are open ended and has to spend to much time explaining what he meant by previous statements big rab by the way only an observation by the way ed007 feeling much better today how are you and how are your feelings on this subject? {Ed007's Note - Hi Rab, I'm fine thanks, glad to hear you are better. Personally I think NL has done well under the circumstances in dealing with the media. It is the infatuation with dissecting everything he says, and suggesting he meant something else that causes the problem}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007 thats the point im making the goldfish bowl which the oldfirm work in is hard. never mind saying something that being is interpreted incorrectly. oldfirm managers have to watch what they say to start with. both sets of fans the media spectulating oh he meant this or that when in fact the interview has been taken out of context.big rab by the way {Ed007's Note - It has been happening for years Rab. I NL has matured a lot in the last year in that respect (handling the media), and you can see he is thinking before he answers questions. Do you think McCoist will be the "cheeky Ally" next season when being interviewed? He will show a more wiser and thoughtful attitude because he knows the spotlight is on his every word and he learned how to handle the press from one of the greats in WS, straight answers and minimum words, if a question didn't suit him he would just refuse to discuss it or have a ready made answer to deflect away from any controversy}

Changing managers sortin the team out next season my friend next season in lennon we trust

Celtic always next seasons champions!!!! Keep it coming!!

Billyboy1!!!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Well we were right when we done 3 in a row just before your lot done 3 in a row. we seem to do everything before your lot. mind you thinking about that yous did not have old walt then and have not got him now. never mind you can trust sally, better you than me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally has my full backing the same as every other Rangers supporter. Constantly put Septc to the sword as a player and will do so as manager. In McCoist We Trust.

Billyboy1!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the same rangers supporters that said old walt must go? don t tell me, you were not one of them as you all say that.

Agree0 Disagree0

When did we say Walt must go?? Tell me a time when as you say Rangers fans said Walt should go? Are you referring to Rangers fans that tyou know because there are more of us out there!!! We Welcome The Chase.

Billyboy1!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

There was no shortage of fans willing to treat radio phone-ins (the record as well) to their voluble belief that smith should go.
you should know this walter said supporters who pay their money-and there s not a lot of it about just now- are always entitled to make their feelings known when things go badly with their team.
i think it was about jan 2009.

Agree0 Disagree0

It amazes me how some of the people on the phone lines managed to even get the number correct, they are not representative of the rest of the fans

Lennon wants to dominate aol? Why, is he not happy with their broadband service?

Also, I find it funny that the Rangers fans have now decided they don't need/want Hemed. For about 2 weeks all they've banged on about is how deadly he'll be alongside Jellyfish but all of a sudden they "didn't really want him anyways".

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Think you will find some did say how good he would be. for me jelavic and lafferty up front naismith with a roaming role. hemed would only have been bench warmer if he thinks the team hes signed for is the better option fair play but they were 1 point of being relegated imo it was the money come to scotland win something or fight relegation hard choice or was it the money big rab by the way

How can people still be doubting Forster as a keeper? he conceded 18 times last season , broke the record for clean sheets, he has more clean sheets in 1 season than boruc had at celtic!!

I'd be happy if we get forster as our number 1

Forster

Wilson , Maj, Wilson, Izzy

Brown, Kayal, Ledley, Commons

Hoopers, Damari

Believable1 Unbelievable1

His kicking is terrible and he doesn't command his area. He's ok, however think we can attract a better keeper......Miko

Agree0 Disagree0

TOTALLY AGREE with miko, we can do better

Doesn't command the box enough for me

Glad to see England got put out tonight. Serves them right for leaving out the only available 20 goal a season striker. But the english have always been like that with players playing in scotland. I have lots of time for stuart pearce but how nathan delfueneso earned a place ahead of gary hooper I'll never know.
Kevbhoy {Ed007's Note - Evening Kev, were you about earlier? I'm busy and missing some names, maybe}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Nathan delfueneso is a better player than hooper FACT. that is why hooper didnt get picked

Agree0 Disagree0

Why was 23 year old Hooper aloud in the squad, when its under 21 team?Weird if you ask me.I am glad that there out to.And I am a Rangers fan.Just cant be bothered with them.Just a shame it was not to France or Germany. {Ed007's Note - I'm not even answering that}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree. Delfounso is a benchwarmer at an underperforming Aston Villa who's done little of note other than be labelled the next big thing.

Hooper's their most experienced striker. Not saying he's necessarily better than the others picked but he's more established at his club, plays week in week out and would offer them something different from Welbeck/Sturridge who're similar types of player (and IMO the latter has a reputation better than his football is). Playing against inexperienced defences as well probably not much better than SPL standard should've made this a no-brainer.
