Watching Telly and hearts being hauled in to SFA to be punished for not paying bonuses when last year old rangers got the mandatory 10 point deduction for going into admin but no punishment for dropping players wages by 75% for over 3 months nor paying their bonuses. No punishment for not paying debtors nor footballing debts.
If the SFA could have got out of giving the mandatory 10 point deduction they would have.
Punishment for admin isn't punishment for those other crimes.

Incidentally, if the club and company are different why does the club get docked 10 points for the companiy's financial poor performance? (Admin)

ED007, just wanted to report a bit of gossip. Apparently Sally got into a bit
of a tizz when he heard CL draw, he misheard and thought it was Fray Bentos we were drawn against, also when he heard Lennon talking about "beefing" up the squad and taking "stock" of the situation and then the Celtic fans getting in a "stew" over the tie, well poor Sally salivated so much, he now wears nappies and a bib. lol Timalloy

ed , i know there is 3m euro just for turning up n last 16 + 2.5 m euro gate money + tv money . then we have programs catering etc. so approximately 6 million euro. i cant find out if there is result money. what an incentive to reach the last eight. because the money goes up by a million . so win this and we are guaranteed another 7m euro. another incentive must be this { and this is only my bet } the last eight wont have schalke, arsenal, shakhtar, a.c. milan, real madrid, paris sg or porto . shammy {Ed007's Note - No mate, there is no win bonus as such in the last 16.}

Just read this in the Gazzetta Dello Sport...thought you may be interested (i've tried to translate it rather than passing it through google translate). It's a summary of Celtic.

celtic - Outsiders, but rarely give in and Juventus can't either.
The star: The rising star is Tony Watt, Class '93, but the attack is still led by Georgios Samaras. The Greek is not exactly a thunderbolt of war, but he has talent, personality and international experience to sell.
The key man: the style of play is embodied to perfection by Victor Wanyama, the Kenyan can play both central defender and midfield, and score as well. Just imagine, on the pitch with Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal.
Strengths: Their best feature is their mentality, this is a group of players who can bite the bullet and never goes adrift, even during storms. Technically, there are also quite adept players: Mulgrew's crossing and Hooper's goals, for example, should not be underestimated. And with Lustig, on the opposite side, forms a pair of full-backs of good level. Forster has proven to be a goalkeeper capable of great evenings even if he is not very reliable. The Israeli Kayal and Captain Brown and add solidity to the midfield. It is not easy to overcome this area.
Weaknesses: The overall technical value is small and lacks a consistent scorer (the Bhoys do not even have the best attack in the Scottish Premier League, held by Inverness). The central defenders Ambrose and Wilson are far from impenetrable, and will struggle with the speed of Giovinco and the technique of Vucinic. They also lack a true organizer of the game in the middle of the field: if Lennon had access to a good director like Pirlo, he'd jump for joy.
Current Condition: the Scottish Premier League, Rangers free, does not pose the Hoops credible opponents, so it is difficult to understand the state of Celtic forms, top of the league without dominating. February is far away, but the impression is that the Champions League is just another thing for the Scots. There have, however, unsuspected energy and go beyond their limits. Juve will try to beat them for the first time (in Glasgow).

Checking out the AIM stock exchange and Celtic have to be a great buy. At 44p a share with a market capitalisation of £34.5m in comparison to sevco at 76p a share with capitalisation at £45m.
Celtic have newer and better playing arena, 10,000 higher capacity than Rangers. Newer better training facilities. A much more valuable squad £60m versus rangers £5m and a full historical record and eight years stable stock exchange presence with fully audited accounts. Excellent corporate governance.
Sevco are a fragile zombie newco post liquidation with millions to pay in asbestos clean up and at least £9m to pay in improvements over next 18 months. A young inexperienced low value bottom of SFL playing squad. Outstanding major legal issues and non defined/ declared title deeds to properties.
Celtic have CL income surely for next 5 years. Sevco no CL income until end year 5 at earliest.
All of the above shows just how ridiculous the stock exchange is in its valuation of companies. If sevco are worth £45m in SFL3 then Celtic are worth £250m in CL.

Believable13 Unbelievable1

It's important we dont start thinking we have CL money for the next 4-5 years.Three qualifiers next year means we will face one quality side to make the group stage..........green jhedi

Most decent people pay their debts and simply get on with their lives without ever feeling the need to boast about being "debt free". However, our local snake oil salesman is shouting it from the rooftops despite the fact that the former rangers went bust owing tens of millions and when the decent rangers fans made donations to pay off creditors what did glinty do with the money? he laid a new pitch. Rangers may be debt free thanks to glinty but they are also morally bankrupt and he can also take the credit for that. He should never ever be compared to Fergus McCann who paid off all of Celtics debts ( the real meaning of "debt free") so that we avoided liquidation and therefore remained the same club with all of our proud history intact. The honest actions of the bunnet also allows Cetic fans to walk with their heads held high.pat-c

Believable12 Unbelievable1

I dont understand why the police and Ambulance service dont pay hard ball over the debt. Ambulance service debt; around 9k,Police debt;Around 52k. If both refused to attended games till the cash was paid Green would have had to pay before this old/new club nonsense got too far.No game could go ahead without these services in place............green jhedi

They won't be the only team debt free come next year and most importantly THEY CAN ONLY HAVE 1 SHARE ISSUE MATE! This time next year we will be so far ahead of them financially that if Celtic continue to conduct they're business off the park they way they have been in recent years they will never catch up. Early for this question i know but your team for the Juve game, assuming all fit of course.I think they play a 3-5 2 to allow Pirlo to quarterback games for them, calling Broony! This means they will,im sure, play one up with one off.In my opinion this dictates, most of the time, we will need a back four. My team?
Forster
Lustig Wilson Ambrose Izzy

Wanyama

Mathews Brown Kayal Ledley

Sammi
I realise Charlie is missing but i think his lack of pace might get exposed here. Mathews pace will expose any team and Ledley has that knack of arriving late. It will also leave us with a strong bench to alter the shape with Mulgrew,Hooper,Watt,Lassad etc. This shape allows brown to track Pirlo when he enters our half and big Vic is the insurance policy.A bit safety first i know but i think we can score then keeping a clean sheet is vital.........green jhedi

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Gj , disagree , i'd put charlie in for kelvin, sammy for superjoe and play hooperman.. shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Shammy; I see your point mate but my thinking is this; I think we might need as much pace as possible from back to middle hence Wilson in,Ledley makes my team because of his work rate and tracking back ability.i would have Sammi before hooper as i think he is a better hold up man and out ball.Dont get me wrong,if we were gonna have balls fizzing into the box all night i would make a space for hooper, thats his game. but i dont see us playing that open. I think the strength of this team is the way the shape can be changed using the bench. And i get the feeling we will need a strong bench as the work rate will have to be enormous and for 90 minutes. If they play one up and one off,we could even go three at the back later on..........green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldnt have izzy in there, matthews for me. Izzy doesnt work hard enough to track back, cant have any slackness round the back with Pirlo and Co fizzing passes around

Forster
Lustig Ambrose Wilson Matthews
Brown Ledley Wanyama Mulgrew
Samaras
Hooper

Sevco5088 Domestic departures Ltd posted its the same historic club 140 years old and listed all old historical club's achievements in their brief to the stock exchange.
Can we please start the list of reasons it's not the same club again?
1. Founded in 1872 and incorporated in 1899 to enter association football under incorporated club regulations, it is now in liquidation and recorded as such at companies house.
2. Charles Green's brand new Sevco5088 club was in no league in Scotland had no votes whilst the old club was in the SPL and still had SFA membership vote and SPL membership vote. Green had bought assets at this point but old club still existed in SPL and called Rangers Football Club.
3.old historical Rangers FC voted to allow Green's sevco5088 into the SPL. But all the other clubs voted against.
4. Whilst old Rangers were still in SPL, Green's new club then went to SFL asking to get into div1. The SFL chairmen refused this as a new club and allowed them to enter association football in SFL Div3.
5. Green's new club did not have SFA membership but SFA agreed to give them a membership conditionally. Including paying all the shameful football debts of old historical rangers. If they were the old Rangers they would have automatically have had their SFA membership.
6. The SFL agreed to give the brand new club sevco Rangers a membership, regardless of SFL regulation requiring that new clubs entering SFL need four years approved and certified accounts which Green's club do not have.
7. Circa 40 players, worth about £30m according to McCoist, walked away from historic Rangers club as they did not need to transfer legally to Green's new club. If it was the same club it would have the same players on the same contracts.
8. Lord Nimmo-Smith a high court law lord in Scotland has declared that Green's new club has legally does not and never has played in the SPL top tier of Scottish football. Ergo has never won any trophies or qualified for CL.
9. You cannot sell history nor titles and achievements. It's an intangible. One clubs historic honours cannot be claimed by another club founded in 2012.
10. Green's brand new club failed to honour goodwill relationships with the old club's historical trading partners preferring to start new arrangements. Eg JBSPORTS to Sports Direct.
11. Corporate Goodwill refers to established trading partners and trading connections, it in no way refers to the history and achievements of a football club in liquidation.
12. 100% Previous Scottish football clubs that were liquidated ceased their history. The history could not be transferred this is legal precedent. It just cannot happen.
13. The other clubs in Scotland do not recognise it as the same historic Rangers and rightly so.
14. Green is breaking insolvency laws by using the exact branding, logos, badges, crests, colours and name of old historical Rangers in liquidation. By continuing to break the statutory laws, he hopes he will create an identity as close to historical rangers as possible and be recognised as such. But rightfully tell him to drop the name, branding logos, etc,... As required, and its plain for all to see its a new club. Why are the authorities allowing his charade to continue to ridiculous lengths? Including duping the stock exchange with his claims?
15. Green tells lies often. He is mendacious. His claim that rangers is the same historical club is simply another lie.
16. UEFA, FIFA and the SFA have not accepted Green's club as the historic club because legally under Scottish law it is not the same club. In fact the SFA has treated Green's Rangers as a brand new club in the Scottish footballing system.
17. Green has provided a false legal case to ECA, falsely representing his new club as historic Rangers. ECA need to review this to uphold their own integrity.
18. The legal system in Scotland does not legally recognise Charles Green's new club as the historical Rangers FC founded in 1872. No legal claims or civil proceedings against old club would be valid against the new legal entity. That includes any issues out with corporate business issues. It is quite simply not the same football club legally.

Believable15 Unbelievable2

If I was say a young junior player at Rangers in the eighteens, nineties etc,... And I wanted to sue Rangers football club for a grievance, say injury, bullying, abuse, etc.... I couldn't sue Greens new Rangers its quite simply not the same legally recognised football club under Scottish law. (This isn't a holding company nor corporate issue). It's a brand new legal entity.

Agree12 Disagree1

Spot on.But you forget we are dealing with a club, and indeed new owner, who the press will not directly question on this matter. Why has NOT ONE reporter from the mainstream media asked the the SFA for clarification on this matter.Could it be they all know the answer?Pretty much every fan of every club would like to see this finalised.Green stated,on the day liquidation was announced, the history had gone.Traynor,a Green appointed media director, stated they were a new club in his newspaper column.Have a listen to clyde when the subject is raised,Dalziel,Johnstone(laughable i know) king et al respond with"you tell forty nine thousand fans that". Well that does not disguise the fact this is a new club.Time for clarification i think. If, as we hear every night, Clyde are bored of callers pointing out facts why not despatch one of your reporters to find out from the SFA? Why quote the ECA as if they are some sort of ruling body? Because the TRUE answer would not suit the mainstream media's agenda of Keeping the rangers fans on-side........green jhedi

Agree8 Disagree2

Great post mate but ultimately pointless. You know it's a new club, I know it's a new club, the rest of Scotland knows it's a new club, but Rangers fans cannot accept this. They find it completely unthinkable that this is a new club, and that the team their fathers supported have gone the way of Third Lanark. They will happily live in blissful denial and cling onto any straws which might support their argument, no matter now weak.

No amount of reasoning will convince them otherwise. Even if BDO did the right think and force them to change their name AGAIN, change their crest etc they will just have the same old "everyone's against us" mentality.

In their defence though, would we really be that much different? If Celtic had gone to the wall like we so nearly did, we'd all be clinging on to the delusion that our club was still alive.

All very sad really.

Agree7 Disagree7

The collusion of the SFA in propping up what is basically Charles Green's lies makes the SFA legally culpable.
There is now a false description on the stock exchange. People investing based on 140 years, trophies, etc.... Are being duped. The SFA by not making a formal declaration are quietly passively allowing the duping.
SDM, Craig Whyte, Charles Green, Alastair Johnston, Walter Smith, Ally McCoist, Martin Bain, Jim Traynor and several others are all on record on TV or press stating club and its history ends with failed CVA and liquidation.
The 40,000 rangers fans know it also but will go along with any clown telling them its the same club lies. The fact this nonsense wasn't nipped in the bud by SFA regarding new club and companies house regarding brand, name, logos, etc shows up both these organisations as either incompetent or scared.

Agree10 Disagree1

It's an extremely important legal issue in Scotland. The rule of law and order or mob rule, we are the peopul.

Agree11 Disagree0

A distressed football club in liquidation had its ASSETS sold cheaply in a questionable deal by its Owner appointed administrator. There was no business left, there was no goodwill left (these are corporate notions not football club terms). In Charles Green's words 'The history of the club, the achievements, all that will be swept aside' and so it was.

Agree9 Disagree0

I just wonder what Paul McBride QC, taken from us so young, god rest his soul, would have judged in all of this had he still been here.
Universities, legal companies, judges, QCs, lawyers, legal students all know Green hasn't a legal leg to stand on regarding he bought history as an asset. Now the share issue is over, the SFAs plan to put it right in January will kick in.

So it's Juve.I know the accepted scenario is away first then get them at home, but i really think in this case home first might just suit us.Lets not be blinded by the fact they are Italian and one of the great names in Europe and the Champions league. With the first leg at Celtic Park they will face an atmosphere maybe even better than the barca game. It's no myth that our players do get a lift from the fans when we are on it before and during big games, plenty European and world class players have been affected by the unique noise created by the fans.Juve will be disciplined, organised, and very difficult to break down, but i do think we can take a lead to Turin. What we will need to do is get as much pace in the team as possible,Italian teams tend to play a slower build up,and i think we might be able to catch them out.I dont think our set piece weapon will be as threatening, as they will have defenders who know how to defend, but i do think we have a chance. The certain thing is we need to keep a clean sheet to keep the fight alive. This is a massive game for the support, total backing and noise from minute one will be vital. Obviously Juve will have periods of possession, but lets stick with the team and who knows? Cannot come quickly enough for me!..........green jhedi

At 18 months it would have to be a real jobsworth to stop you taking him on your knee .. shammy

Sadly you will have to look out for over zealous stewards. I have seen and heard a few arguments about this, they trot out the health and safety mantra.ridiculous...............green jhedi

Amazing that the Sevco5088 International Ltd followers could only raise less than half of their target, when Charles Greed, shouting from the rooftops, assured everyone that they have 500 million fans worldwide (7% of the population of the earth) and they would raise £100m from digital revenues alone, by selling live streams of fourth tier matches directly to the devices of this demographic.

I hope this doesn't go the way of, the five big wealthy middle-eastern families of investors; the £30m in the bank to spend; the nineteen signings - five of whom played at Euro 2012; renaming the training ground as soon as the season tickets were bought; signing up with Adidas to become the biggest name in their portfolio; hooking up with the Dallas Cowboys in a colossal merchandising tie-in; not returning to the SPL; having 'rangersitis' and not leaving until they have WON the Champions League; winning the Champions League whilst remaining debt-free and implementing a 33% wage cap; quietly removing the £1m crossbar challenge when no-one was looking ...................... and a litany of other moonbeams.

Charles Greed - he certainly talks a good game.

Brilliant mate. Get that posted on they're site for the banter lol

Reading today he won't leave until CL music plays at Ibrox. But won't join SPL or an spl2 ever. Given you need to win SPL to join CL, makes him look a clown.

Read his statements and company description to stock exchange pre floatations yesterday. It says Rangers in third division but Board and Manager want to be in top flight as soon as possible! Guess they confuse themselves silly Boys.
