Now the reason for them to go and get 'De bore is if they have a Dutch manager it would be a perfect excuse to have an Orange away kit.

Can't argue with logic like that.!

Brendan Rodgers will be here for 10 in a row and I was surecof that since seeing Celtic the Musical which he also went to see when the last screen shot was his photograph and the question after going through the Celtic greats throughout our history 'What about the new man-what will his legacy be? ' He knows he will be remembered by our children and our children's children to quote another man long after many others who may have earned more have been long forgotten. As we all know a love of Celtic is not for sale at any price especially when you're already a millionaire. His time may come like all others but it won't be as quick as the anti-Celtic and anti-Catholic and biased pro-establishment we are the people Govan orientated media would like it to come. Long may God bless him and his efforts. Hail Hail ☘️.

I said exactly the same thing on the rumours page why go down south where you are three bad results and a cup exit away from the sack. Arsenal can’t compete plain and simple, he is a fan of the club living his dream and he has an ego no bad thing and true he does want to go down in his clubs history for a massive event and 10 in a row would be just that. The Sevco loving press are praying he leaves I just don’t think he will. He will be more successful up here and will get 10 in a row and he is young enough to still get a move to a top team if he so desires? Let’s enjoy our dominance and laugh at the Sevcos embarrassing stagger from one crisis to another HH and mind the gap 😂⚽️🏆🏆🏆.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Rodgers has experienced managing in the English Pub League and seen the way he was treated by Liverpool fans after getting them so close to winning to the title. Like you say as well, BP, down there a couple of bad results and the board are looking to replace you - at least up here it's only some of the fans ;)
One of Rodgers' ambitions is to manage in Spain eventually.}

I heard a bit of ssb when in the car and the expected clamour for our manager to leave to destabilise our club was to be heard in every word the panel spoke. They see a chink in our armour and are desperately scratching away to try to make it better. And as every Celtic fan came on and stated Brendan’s quotes of here for the long term building a legacy I am a fan I love it here I still have lots of work to do on and off the field. And every caller was hit back with “aye but what if” and “I think” more like I hope? The press up here should be trying to keep a top class manager up here instead of trying to push for him to leave to apparently better himself? Brendan’s here for 10 in a row and to prolong the zombies pain and write himself into generations to comes folklore he will get a statue and all that will come with 10 in a row 🙂⚽️🍀🏆🏆🏆.

I agree with what Ed007 is saying and I would be amazed if he would allow another English Board treat him in the shameless and shabby way he was treated by Liverpool
He says himself it affected his health and I am sure it is too soon for him to put his mind through all that again .
If I know anything about what Brendan is thinking, I imagine taking the Celtic job is a medium to long term mission . Brendan would reckon short term domestic total success and medium to long term make a proper impression in Europe .
Leaving Celtic now, would mean he would never know what he could achieve in Europe over a five - seven year period .
Twenty years time, if still alive he would still be wondering, so I think BR is here for years.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - what about the way Rogers football in the 2014-15 season was damaging to the health of Liverpool fans. I wouldn’t delude yourself about Brenda’s fidelity mate if Arsenal, Totenham, Chelsea, Bayern, Milan, Juve, Barca, Real, Athleti come knocking your boy will go a walking.

21 Apr 2018 08:32:53
If the manager decides he wants to go, life goes on, really don’t understand the big fuss everyone is making. We’ve been going for 130 years now, and I’m sure if Rodgers did leave we would still be a football club, and I’m sure we wouldn’t have any problem getting another manager.

21 Apr 2018 10:37:31
Rodgers is going nowhere, stop with the paranoia folks👍.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2018 13:17:50
Given the latest misquotes from Dermot will the media ever learn? I, like most other fans, believe that the constraints on advancement European wise might lead BR to consider a move. This however is by no means a done deal.

Looking at the man himself he is clearly a principled and clever individual. He has stated countless times how much he loves the club and how happy he is. He is also ambitious, talented people usually are. He has also stated that he would fancy a crack in Spain. Honestly, i think the EPL is no big deal for him.

He also lost both parents at a pretty early age, this focuses the mind, believe me i know. Life is different after that stuff. Contentment is a wonderful thing, don't underestimate it. Besides who can say for sure he can't achieve his goals with Celtic?

Might he fancy the idea of becoming a Maley or Stein? A huge figurehead that echoes through the clubs history? His wife loves it here, that always helps, but BR loves Celtic. Overhaul everything at the club, set the standards and move up to the board while still in control of all football matters working with a manager he has mentored for the job.

Nothing is set in stone. but to be the guy in charge at ten in a row, now that's big.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

20 Apr 2018 14:23:41
Can't see him moving up to the board or mentoring any future successor. A manager should have full control! I said on here previously a manager of Brendan Rodgers stature would only come to this league ( I get he's a fan) if he was giving specific guarentees. Bear in mind he signed a 4 year deal to begin with if I'm not mistaken so the board have obviously giving him assurances that sufficient funds will be made available to him to achieve his objectives which Brendan was clearly satisfyed with hence why he signed. This is only the start the best is yet to come👍.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Rodgers initially signed a one-year rolling contract but then signed a four-year deal at the end of last season.}

20 Apr 2018 14:23:45
My personal shout for Arsenal would be Diego Simeone before BR, and hopefully they get Diego Simeone.

Keep BR at Celtic, failing that then DD should fight tooth and nail to keep him. Unless there's a wee clause or agreement between these two guys.

Coming through the darkness in your life takes time and one can only see a flicker of light at times, but as time passes that light get's brighter and we get more bolder and confident to take on bigger challenges, or we understand where we need to be and accept what we have is all that we need. my hied hurts. Hail Hail.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Apr 2018 14:48:46
He will leave but not before the 10, that was the reason he signed the 4 year deal.
The MSM are just desperate for him to go.

Agree3 Disagree0

20 Apr 2018 15:16:50
I stand corrected ED, again 4 years is a massive commitment and Brendan hasn't done that just because he is a fan, he has objectives and the board have convinced him that they are prepared to help him achieve them.

I don't think there is any doubt Brendan wants to be the manager who leads the club to 10 in a row. He also has ambitions of making an impression in Europe. He will also expect the board to get our big players tied down and only accept outrageous bids for any of our big hitters.

The Sevco element in the media can't accept Celtic acting like a big club and will make any negative headlines they can in terms of linking our manager and players with every club out there in the hope it returns the new club to " where they belong". Let the good times roll! hail hail.

BR said he wants to leave a legacy hh.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Apr 2018 17:48:10
It is only natural that BR's name will be mentioned for the Arsenal job. Especially by smsm who are desperate to undermine anything we do.
Now they have the perfect channel to dampen their attack on sevco and turn towards headlines for us and loss of BR.
However, I believe that to achieve the success that Arsenal want then they will look abroad. I base this on the recent success of Man City and Liverpool and let's not forget Man Utd are not exactly unsuccessful under Mourinho.
I also believe BR wants to achieve something here and will still be in a nice position to leave after the 10.
BR is also a man of honesty and integrity and, having signed the 4 year deal will not walk away and be seen as a mercenary.
Although, I also bear in mind, Celtic today stated they would not block BR should Arsenal approach.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Apr 2018 17:53:42
Paper talk however maybe coincidence but BR came out yesterday to say he was happy at Celtic and it seemed an out of the blue comment? I posted about it. Wonder if his agent was approached re Arsenal and that prompted his statement or maybe im looking for something that's not there.

20 Apr 2018 19:59:02

some people may look at Arsenal's stadium and think Arsenal in the EPL is a big club .
Others look at Celtic Pk in the East End of Glasgow in a Country population of 4.5 m approx and take a look at Celtic 's history and would also say a big club . Why risk career on going to Arsenal whose out going manager has been there for 22 years . I remember a big club in EPL whose manager was there even longer and who have appointed 3 managers subsequently and all three have been various degrees of failure
Is Brendan a fool?

Brendan linked to Arsenal

Hi Ed, I for one have no objections to DD statement on our manager being linked to the soon to be vacancy at the north London club.
Dermot states he will never place handcuffs on anyone or contemplate stopping BR speaking to anyone

I also have no fear that Celtic will lose our prized leader

I believe Brendan is a man of great personal honour and integrity. He was recruited and brought to Celtic by DD himself and for me this gives a moral obligation to stay for at least 4 / 5 years.

10 in a row will seal his place in history, time then for personal reflection to see if his personal ambitions would entice him to new pastures

The future is bright
The future's green and white

Hail Hail.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - I think it'll be after 10 in a row too that Rodgers will look at his options but I wouldn't write him off staying beyond that. At 45 he's still relatively young for a top level manager.}

20 Apr 2018 11:39:36
Ed007 if you're around. What are the chances of Tierney to Old Trafford? Ed002 says we like the look of him but maybe he isn't considered ready? Personally I think he's a cracking player, but I can only see him staying at Celtic for another 2 years or so? Which is not a bad thing for him, massive potential!
Caolán.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It'll be a lot more than two years before there's a chance of any team prising KT away from Celtic, Caolan. He has ambitions to win 10 in a row and to captain Celtic to trophies when Scott Brown's time is up. Even if the Club accepted a crazy bid for him I'm certain that KT would turn down the move.
If - and it's a very big if for me - KT ever decides to leave I know he has a bit of a soft spot for Man Utd so that would probably be his preferred destination but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he stayed with us for his entire career as long as the Club is winning trophies, investing in the team and playing regular CL football.
Tierney is doing what he has wanted his whole life - to play for Celtic, his love and passion for the Club is up there with any fan who sits in the stands and on the rare occasions that he's not playing he's in the crowd with the 'real' supporters instead of in amongst the prawn sandwich mob being pampered.}

20 Apr 2018 12:35:38
ED007 don't you realise it is a "done deal" Tierney to Manchester United £10m and Dembele to Marseille £15m and according to all those media chappies, we should be grateful for getting THAT much, with our £25m booty maybe we should try and sign Morelos. lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - £10 million for KT! (lmfao)

20 Apr 2018 12:42:14
By staying 2 years I mean for his development as a player, not that he would actually leave after! I’m a big fan and would love him at Old Trafford but at the same time you can’t be disappointed when a kid is living the dream, and 60,000 every week almost get to live it through him. I’d love him at United, but I don’t mind watching him at Parkhead either! Cheers for the info 007!

20 Apr 2018 16:12:44
I think he might leave sooner rather than later. Maybe in 2 or 3 years. No matter how much you love a club the salary on offer from EPL teams is hard to turn down for anyone. Celtic unfortunately can’t compete with £100k + per week.

20 Apr 2018 16:42:35

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2018 18:03:30
Rich T, we have been blessed with Martin o'neil, now Brendan. Even if Brendan chooses pastures new? I would like to think DD and the board have thought out a suitable replacement after last season's acheivements.

21 Apr 2018 01:23:12
I will be dead and gone before K Tierney leaves Celtic .
I don't intend going in the next five years minimum .
Tierney tells us every month he loves Celtic . He plays as if he loves the club .
Stop putting your club down, if a Celtic fan gets the opportunity to star for Celtic, there may be no need and no sense in leaving the club to go to somewhere "big " and be miserable .

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 10:42:52
£10m for Tierney? Is some can’t on Crack?

So Dermot Desmond says he won't stand in Brendans way if he chooses to go to arsenal at the end of the season when Wenger leaves?

Surely he should be stating we wouldn't welcome the approach 😠😠😠.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

20 Apr 2018 11:19:44
Look Brandon has done a fantastic job and will always get linked with jobs done south.
One day he will leave and the club will move on, that's how football works.
Just as long as the club show the same type of ambition that got us Rogers in the first place then we will be fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2018 11:41:58
Managers and players come and go, the club will always be bigger than any one person.

I retract my initial comments after seeing the actual interview with Desmond.

I first heard this on sly where they were discussing Wenger leaving and the presenter stated that Desmond would not stand in Brendans way . This could not be more out of context!

After seeing the interview? He states the club are happy with Brendan and it will be Brendans choice .

But no matter what goes on across the pond there is no one to quiz or ask awkward questions 🤣🤣🤣.

SLY are so anti-Celtic, the current period of domestic dominance must be killing them; they were at the forefront of the 'same club' pish and can never cover any Celtic news without a Sevco mention and still hang-on to the obsolete Old Firm tag at every opportunity.
I cancelled my subscription in 2017 because of their OTT English biased and the lack of respect to Scotland - even though we pay the same subscriptions and the old - 'SSN Understands' speculation guff and their tainted/ slanted reporting and I would urge other Celtic supporters to do the same.
There are various other ways of watching football of choice without throwing cash away in the direction of these charlatans.

Don't put stupid interpretations into what D D may have said to the media who you should know have one agenda .
D D knows B R's mind and what he would be thinking if Wenger left or any other EPL manager. D D knows he doesn't have to jump on his private jet and fly to Rodgers . I am sure they have an ongoing relationship and I would be amazed if D D knew that B R is not going anywhere.
