I understand why he wants to play for his country but Broonie needs to chuck playing for Scotland and concentrate on Celtic. He's done his bit for Scotland and is now at that stage of his career where he needs to prioritise and that's who pays your wages irrespective of his allegiance to WGS. ☘️.

Disagree. Since BR came in he's had a totally new lease of life and has been unrecognisable from the fatigued and worn out player we saw for lots of RD's spell. He's been breezing through games for club and country and long may it continue. His current injury is his first for ages.

It won't matter after Thursday when Strachan F**ks it up by picking his championship failures and we lose to Solvenia/ Slovakia when he will retire anyway.

I lost interest and respect for Scotland internationals after the way Jinky was treated in the 60's and although I appreciate our players wanting to represent their countries, I only have Celtics' interest at heart and our own priorities.

Serious injuries to both Ribery and Robben this afternoon and must be major doubts for our CL game. We should be going there in a fornight looking to take something from the game. Hopefully Brown and Armstrong recover quicker than expected, having them available in Germany will be vital. A big well done to Callum McGregor his call up was long overdue and he should have been included regardless of injuries to others. Most consistent player in Scotland at the moment.

We have just played 3 games in a week and made 5 or 6 changes yesterday too, so to criticise players who won at Sevco and in Brussels is harsh. We looked flat yesterday, for obvious reasons, and Hibs played well and took advantage, deserving the draw, if not the win. We will be back on track!

I know mate, but I don’t think we're in a position to complain too much at this minute. We're still unbeaten domestically! Anyway HH 🍀.

Exactly mate, god help us when we do get beat, wonder whose fault it will be.

Does anyone know if McGregor has been called up to the Scotland squad? I read that he had, but now on the BBC it says he hasn't and that McGregor isn't expecting a call.
If he hasn't, Strachan needs some form of therapy. Or to be sacked. Some of the players in the squad ahead of CM are nowhere near as good as him, but to then have our two main midfielders pull out and not take the opportunity to make amends for the initial mistake is completely unforgivable.

Strachan is just a helmet, he’d rather have the wee imp Bannan play before McGregor

He has real issues when it’s put to him that a player should be in his team. Remember the start of this qualifying group no Celtic players where in the team

I’ll always watch Scotland even if at times I wish they would scrap the way international football is done. All the teams below a certain ranking should have to qualify for the qualifiers - some of the groups are just full of rubbish.

Do that to international football, European football would be next.

Good means he will be fresh for us stuff Scotland

Might even do him as first goal scorer again:-)

Agree Kev T. For some reason he rates Bannan and Morrison who are both garbage. Can see either playing alongside Fletcher but would be bold to see him go with McGregor and McGinn but too big a game and neither have the experience as is his reluctance to try bring through the new generation of players rather than stick with the ones that's so often failed.

Looking for some intel on Mark Wilsonour former right back. At the game today lots of peeps saying he should be nowhere near a Celtic TV gig. Why, what have i missed? Quite puzzling this as i don't remember him being involved in anything untoward. ED?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I say the same every time I see Wilson on there mate, not only is he a Level 5 (Jim Traynor) employee/lickspittle, he threw Lukasz Zaluska under the bus at Paul Paton's trial for assaulting the Polish 'keeper with a rather dubious version of events.
I think Wilson being used is possibly an indication that a lot of our current and ex-players don't want to deal with Gerry McCulloch after his stint on Clyde keeping their agenda going.
One thing is a certainty, no Level 5 employee should be anywhere near the inner workings of anything at Celtic Park.}

01 Oct 2017 12:47:06
Thanks ED. I was furious Mcculloch got the gig at CTV, Never pressed fat dj or anyone else re sevco, a lickspittle of the highest order. The Zaluska incident shocks me, Supporting a piece of filth like paton? I remember the incident but not the follow up. As for level 5? Should be nowhere near any part of Celtic. The media in this country are a feckn joke. Did you catch the BBC guy. McLoughlin? on Anderlecht? You would have thought they were a pub team.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - To be fair to Chris McLaughlin though, GJ there were some within our own support whose reaction was the same to talk down Anderlecht rather than praise Celtic.}

01 Oct 2017 23:42:15
Well, I know I was only listening on the radio again, but the two things I got from listening were that Anderlecht weren't that great, and that Celtic were just about on par until they scored the first goal, and then they improved, there is no denying it was a great final result, but also there must have been times in the past when they have played better and got beat, but the main thing about this result is that it will do their confidence the world of good, I don't think there is any point in critiscicing commentators just because they point out the obvious weaknesess in the opposition, as for the Bayern game, I was quite confident of Celtic causing an upset in Munich, but now the two old codgers are out injured, the question is have Munich got some sparkling young talent that they might unleash, I still think Celtic can cause an upset.

01 Oct 2017 14:58:54
absolutely ED. In the sevco match all the talk was of morales being caught offside, same in Brussels. Might it be hard work on the training pitch with Big Kolo? Some within our own need to have a look at themselves.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I see even Rodgers mentioned it in the press that there's always a negative slant put on any Celtic success. We went away in the CL and beat a team who have double our budget and some of our own support decided it wasn't we were good it was Anderlecht that was bad.
Apparently even listening on the radio you could tell Anderlecht weren't very good and we weren't much better! It was the same at the PSG game, according to the radio PSG weren't that good it was us that was so bad - go try and figure that out!}

I noticed that the 2 games we have dropped points in this season have come after midweek champions league away games.
Given that we are away to Bayern Munich on Wednesday 18th October, I'm surprised the club didn't push for our semi final to be played on the Sunday, a Saturday lunchtime game doesn't give us much time in between.
When you look at Hibs yesterday they got tore into us, it's not hard to see what their tactics will be at Hampden.

Gerry - I think Brendan needs to ditch this 3 at the back unless it’s against the lower level teams.

It suits no one and we are very rarely comfortable using it.

Stick with our 4231 where we not only play but control games more.

What a difference a week makes, the suit phoned me last night and wants me to meet him for our Sunday pint, he has been emboldened by our dropping points at Hibs, I cannot wait to hear what his goldfish brain that forgets all negative results immediately, has planned for me next, I hope it is another one of his bets lol.

A penalty is a penalty. Athletico got one against Chelsea for less. Not to mention that their defender blocked the ball with his hand too makes it even more of a stonewaller.

I just listened to Glittering Prize by Simple Minds. I loved it way back then but I think that Glittering Celtic. We may never experience what my dad witnessed in 67. But I love Celtic all the same. After the Seville final my Dad (God rest his soul) asked what was wrong. I told him I was gutted. To which he replied 'how do you think it felt in 1970 when we lost to Feyenoord' I don't know to this day if I said what I was feeling which was - you saw the Lisbon Lions! Anyway - Celtic Forever.

Glittering Prize is Celtic. That's what I meant to say. Supporting Celtic is THE greatest thing until you have children - then you teach them the same. I was taught early but I CHOSE this. Hail Hail. BTW Jackie McNamara's first goal v Hibs at Easter Road in 95/ 96 season is why I love Celtic more than before.

L-S-86: just got back from Portugal late Sat afternoon, when we were there we went to the Estádio Nacional: Now used as a sports complex.
The workman were there and the fences were down, So we walked straight into the stadium and onto the pitch. Shivers running down my spine, I said to my dad ( god rest his soul) : Well now dad, this was one of the best days to be a Celtic Supporter.
I stood in awe of what we accomplished in 67, with the goals we scored
getting played out in my mind as i looked onto the pitch
My youngest son ( 16) who was with us just stared in total disbelief, we took pics and made our way round to the main stand, unfortunately we could not get into the main stand as it was locked, so we sat just in front of it, still more shivers.
we had taken a taxi to the stadium and the driver waited, when we returned to the taxi the driver said, nice stadium what were you looking for i turned and showed him the Celtic top my son was wearing . Oh he said 50 years ago the FAMOUS GLASGOW CELTIC . ( his words ) and then he started to name our team .
I does not matter where you go in this world, you will always find a Celtic supporter:

Thought I would just share that with you all:
