Not directly about tonight's game but ideally I would like to see us strengthen in January. We still need a Centre Forward and a Left Back.

Give the players the chance to gel rather than coming in a few weeks before games like AC Milan and Barcelona.

I don't envy Neil Lennon's job, constantly having to rebuild and attract quality players into our league.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

These were positions that needed attention in the close season and we are still short on class in those key areas. Does it have to take finishing with zero points in the group for the board to admit they never backed the manager with proper quality?

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Pukki has to be given a chance. Stokes was given his chance in the two euro games on merit from performances in spl and from the departure of hooper. Mulgrew can play at LB so no need to strengthen in those positions IMO.

Briggs

Agree0 Disagree0

Ya pukki was great when he came on, stokes wasn't on his game. Woulda like pukki start then bring stoked on later and have the 2 on

Agree0 Disagree0

No need to strengthen Briggs? It's comments like that which give the board space to continually downgrade our squad. Mulgrew is a CB, it's where he's had his best performances with us. Enough of this rejigging him to LB, CM, LM, etc. Pukki looks to have taken Stokes' place as the SPL striker this season, we still needed another FW as we sold/released/loaned out players with few coming in.

So disappointed tonight .
Scott Brown has let the side down again, he did the same against AC Milan, in that game at 1 - 0 we still could have snatched an equalizer.
Tonight again trying to be a smart aass, let's everyone down.
I feel we could have possibly went on to win that tonight if we had kept the 11 players on the park.

Now don't get me wrong please I am a Celtic fan and I thought Browns days of being like that were over, nobody on here mentioned the incident against Milan, but after tonight, it needs to be realised that Scott still has some growing up to do.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm sorry, but what game did you watch tonight? We didn't have a hope in hells chance of winning that game tonight! Yes we might have sneaked a goal with Forrest/ mulgrews chances, but to say we would have won that with brown still on the park is a parcel of p!ss

Briggs

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with that. He won't play in next match either. It's a flaw that has to be sorted out. I thought the tactics were working, especially at the start of second half when the barca goalie was forced to give the ball away instead of starting nearly every passage. It's a hellishly tough group and mistakes are punished. Big Fraser was terrific again as were most. Another epic night and much to enjoy being a celtic fan so not too disappointed. Really the Ajax games are probably like a knockout for next round of el, but like Charlie said, we don't give up. I have to say I knew barca would be as good as Morton.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it would have been a draw. But the Milan thing about brown is wrong for it was balitelli that threw an elbow at brown has they were together and went down doing it as to cover it up. So yet another diving person and the refs fall for it, I thought they were suppose to book divers? Are they not? Tonight it was a yellow never a red as the ref pulled out a yellow then neymar sits up looks at the red and starts rolling around as he was shot.
It seems only Celtic respect the game and plays the right way for we don't dive and roll around like some actor trying to get a roll in a movie

Agree0 Disagree0

Briggs, you should know about nicking, and we could have nicked that last night, with 11 players less pressure on the midfield.
Also I never said we would have won it I said we could have, so put down the drink and think.

Lost Bhoy 50

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, brown was out of order. Ruined the game and atmosphere. Glad he is off. Too big for his boots.

Hang your head in shame scott brown. An embarassment. Cost celtic what could of been a valuable point. Hopefully no one tries to defend him, especially neil.

Gaz.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would say he was petulant, not an embarrassment. Tbh I thought we played our best when he was sent off and had our best chances, all the pressure went on barca to win they game from then on in. let's be honest with ourselves here. NO OTHER team in the CL had a harder two game start than we had, so let's hope the team will learn from these two games, especially the new guys. For me the next two games against Ajax are key and will decide our fate. Scott brown made a mistake which I don't think changed the result of the game!

Briggs

Agree0 Disagree0

Your a complete buffoon mate, it was yellow at best. Go hang your head in shame. Tosser!

Darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you talking about? It was more of a follow thru then a kick, neymar sat up looked at the red and then acted like he broke his back! Should have been a yellow yes but a red is f***ed up, there was no viciousness about it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Neymar is notorious for squealing like a wee piggy for fouls and Brown was foolish as the referee had shown he was 'fussy' and card happy from early doors.
It didn't do us any favours whatever way you call it.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Petulant, unprofessional, predictable, if anyone said a Celtic player is getting red carded you'd have to say Scott brown. It's becoming his modus operandi.
But it's not all his fault. I believe its lennon's. The team held to 0-0 for 13 minutes, Barca didn't look like scoring and Neil subbed the right back Lustig who was covering the goal area of the goal scorer. I screamed no no no when Lennon did two subs at 0-0, 13 minutes after red card. A perfect Celtic defense, holding up for 70 minutes, and Lennon destroys his own defense right back area.
I predicted crap substitutions before the game and Milan game and both came true. Sick of it . Barca win after subbing Lustig and weakening right back defense where goal came from.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lustig was on a yellow card pal and mathews is a rb, ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

At 5, you think the players had anything in them left? No! Stokes was off his game and you sub players off cause they are tired! Against barca we need fresh legs in the later part of game WHICH by the way the subs lead us to almost scoring! Stop with you Lennon bashing ad you know nothing if you think the team could have lasted the whole fame with no changes. Lennon was out to get somthing from the game and not just sit back and lose the game without fighting back. So go away you JOKER!

Agree0 Disagree0

Pains me to say it gaz I agree. On the way back from the game last night I was Sure it was a yellow got home and stuck the game on then changed my mind tree is no reason what so ever for broony to act like that and desevered the red card. He was having a great game until that moment aswell,

Agree0 Disagree0

A follow through? Watch the angle from behind. He changes direction to go towards neymar and the length of his swing also changes. There is no defending an person like brown.

Gaz.

Agree0 Disagree0

Scott Brown has been harshly treated. Naymar is famous for his over the top acting and Broonie was a casualty of his cheating. I hope Celtic appeal this decision. JK

Brown- why the plaudits and singing when sent off? personic and the turning point in game when we were coming into things.
Izzy again! How many times r we to accept he can't defend. Couldn't care less about forward play, he is a lb - defend first. I've lost count now how many times he's cost us in Europe and domestically. Weak link, looking back to that 1st season when a lot of people were saying £10m value what a joke.
Can't fault everyone else, great display but those 2 cost us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Izzy never cost us anything Brown and his stupidity cost us again. He should have the captaincy taken from him. Yes he is brilliant at times but to many times he loses it. There was no need for the kick out at Neymar. He dose this to often and needs to sort his sh!t out. That's who cost us Brown and no one else.

Ian

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with OP, Brown is a great player occasionally but you can see the red mist descend at times, I'm not his biggest fan, not captain class for me.
Izzy is a car crash as a defender, was gutted to see him start. he thinks he's a winger.

BobbyLennox_Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Again ill go with my first post, your both buffoons if I have to explain why, it just proves my point.

Darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Lenny will defend him because he was that type of player himself. What should have ben a 'take one for the team' yellow card he lost it and had an unneccesary kick at Neymar. We were under the cosh but I was convinced a draw would pan out until he lost it! KOB 1967

Agree0 Disagree0

What did izzy do wrong?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ian, watch it back. Brown stupid and no excuse but the ball was when we lose most goals goes over the top of the lb.
I assume u watch all games, if so u will know how many goals are conceded from here. It is a weakness and if u can't accept that then I'm afraid ure knowledge is slighted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Darrenbhoy, it's a crazy thing to do, why give the ref the decision to make? We all know certain players will attempt to gain by getting a player sent off, especially in Europe. Professional? Brown let us down. Captain capacity, again let us down. If it had been the other way I assume ud have insisted the opposition player stay on park yeah?
Monkey bhoy, if u can't see where the ball for cross came from and ignore the continual goals we lose from izzy being caught ball watching dropping over the top of him then sorry mate but u r either blinkered or don't understand simple defending

Agree0 Disagree0

@7 if there was a left back in the world that could stop every single crossed ball he'd be the greatest player ever, never mind when were a player down to a team like Barcelona who really do have some of the greatest players in the world.
Seems izzy is an easy target just now because he ain't playing well but can't ble him for every goal scored
Monkeybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Monkey. Izzy seems to get the blame for everything just now. Is that because Forrest is nt playing. Once he is back as a reagular everything will be his fault.

Take the captains armband from Brown until he learns to grow up.

Ian

Agree0 Disagree0

@7 Why are you blaming Izzy, the ball from Neymar was a peach, Sanches is well in front of Izzy because of this, the ball did not go over Izzy's head but did go over Efe's head so why is he not getting blame for goal?. Efe can see where Fabregas is and still jump's under the ball. If your going to blame someone, blame the reight one, don't try and make someone a scape goat when, if you look at it right he was not to blame
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Really don't see how you can blame Izzy on this occassion. All night they had 2 men coming down the left and Izzy wasn't getting support from the midfield. In the first half Pedro was his man but everytime he covered him Alves was spare. Brown was foolish but nobody will know that better than him. I think Lennon behind closed doors may have a bit of a different opinion than the one he gave the press.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed it does seem so that they had problems in the broadcast but surprisingly not in the on-line reporting of Broonies faux-pas, they've even dedicated a whole item in their report

Don't have a good feeling about tonight as we have been losing goals to - near enough - everyone so far this season and can't remember the last time big Forster played anything like his best?
Barcelona are unbeaten and playing fantastic.
So I suppose it's better not expecting too much and maybe the Bhoys will surprise me and I would get a wee taste of the buzz I felt this time last year?
COYBIG!

Jungle Jim

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The big noisy stadium always unsettles visitors. The fans need to be twelfth man tonight.
I pray Lenny doesn't substitute wrongly and mess up a well playing team. And no two subs at same time.EVER. And no subs just cause he promised players a run out so they have Barca on their records.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm first comment, again Lenny gets subs wrong, he subs a successful defense after 70 mins against Barca 0-0. 15 full mins after brown sent off, totally f*cks his own successful defense by taking Lustig off. WHY? WHY? WHY?
I predicted 3-0 Barca at that point 1-0 in minutes from where Lustig would have covered. Then Forster had four amazing saves ruining my prediction post Lustig substitution. Even with 10 men 0-0 if Lenny wasn't crap at subs. TIRED TIRED TIRED of saying it in here.
Neymar never got by Lustig once.

So Sneaky pockets £825,000 for winning the third division and having a miserable cup run . No wonder he doesn't do walking away . Also see Channel 5 is showing a documentary about his time at the club at the same time we are playing Barcelona . DH

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Guess that is why he is offering to take a paycut as he knows the money is almost gone and has been outed as taking a fortune out of the club he knew this would be shown at this time he is a sneaky individual of the lowest form

I wouldn't have stokes or izzy in the team, both were rank rotten on saturday and nowhere near good enough for CL level. I'd go

Forster
Lustig, Ambrose, Van Dijk, Mulgrew
Matthews, Brown, Kayal
Commons, Forrest (is he fit? if not boerigter)
Samaras

Bring it on!
