After flicking between the Juve v Benfica game and Man City v Chelsea u21's, I think I saw the Wanyama type player we need for next season. Seko Fofana from City, very Viera/Yaya like. Looks like he could make the step up to first team even though he's only 18, I'd love us to get him on loan!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Certainly one of the highest rated players in the Barclays u21. Obviously not quite near Wanyamas level just now but no reason why he couldn't be better from things I've read. Was the lad Lopes playing for City? He's one hell of a talent and unless Pellegrini puts him through to the first team he's well worth a shout too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye I've picked up on that with a bit of digging last night Jim, Lopes played as well but he seemed to be the focus of Chelsea's marking so his night was fairly quiet. Was quite dissapointed to see a youth team going out to park the bus like their 1st team though, City will feel like they should've took the win last night!

Agree0 Disagree0

It is disappointing and not a philosophy true football fans would adopt but teach 'em while they're young I suppose. If Mourinho prefers to play that way against top sides then I understand why it gets drilled into youths. Some of the players City and Chelski have that are excess to first team is scary. Mind you a few of them are on more money than our first team too. That's even more scary.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know mate. I found out the other night (well, I don't know how much truth is in it or not) that Glen Johnson was on circa £35k per week at Chelsea - for hardly kicking a ball?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nevermind Johnson, at Chelsea, players not many will be familiar with such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Andreas Christensen are on £30k+

Agree0 Disagree0

People who pay that type of money to unknowns should be done for bringing the game into disrepute .

Agree0 Disagree0

Enough about them did you see Feruz's miss at the end?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye, good enough for the wee twit.

So I've heard the Daily R*nger have done their usual deflection of matters in the South of Glasgow and ran a story about an Irishman singing Irish songs in an Irish pub in Ireland, as if he's done something wrong? No doubt this will be compared to the Leigh Griffiths situation (incomparable in my opinion) and those who said back our players will slate Stokes!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

HamiltonBhoy I think Stokes will get punished by Celtic for this due to him already being pulled up for attending the funeral last year. I don't think there's anything wrong with what he's done, far from it! and it's not the same as the Griffiths situation. But he probably should know better by now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Regardless of what he has done, would you be happy if it was your player who ignored your warning?

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sick fed up of today's players disrespecting the club and support.
No matter what reason or excuse you can come up with - they are all representatives of our club 24 hours a day and have a huge responsibility.
Bigger and better players than Stokes and Griffiths have served the club with distinction, integrity and honour and were fully aware of the repercussions any act of folly or a lapse in responsible behaviour carried.

The west of Scotland media have had an open agenda against our club for over a century and as much as I detest and disregard their feeble attempts at journalism and balanced reporting; we must not give them any semblance of an excuse to further persecute our club through our own failings in club discipline and certain players lack of basic common sense.

Would be Broony or Mulgrew be pulled up for singing the Scottish national anthem, Flower of Scotland, as that's a Scottish song of rebellion? Yet again the MSM in Scotland have yet again taken a photo from social media, assumed what he was singing, etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can only assume what he did or didn't sing last Sunday, we don't even know from that pic if he's singing or just talking to the crowd in the pub. The only people who know are those in attendance. Yet the DR have jumped on the Stokes is singing pro-IRA songs, all judged from a pic off Twitter?! A similar stunt to that pulled by The S*n last week when they posted Paul the Tim's pic of Pope Francis with the Celtic shirt, alongside his full name, where he's from, quotes from his Twitter, etc - after he told them he wasn't interested in giving them a statement!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think a lesson should be learned from the Griffiths incident where there was an assumption the Club were being hard on the player without knowing all the facts. 'He sings what he wants' Really?

I'm with Jungle Jim, would rather players were in the Paper for the right reasons.

I have no idea what Stokes was singing or who he was with but we all know the score when you play for the biggest Club in Scotland. End of!

Agree0 Disagree0

The pub says that Stokes wasn't in there pub that night .

Funny how Boruc was a loveable rascal yet Stokes is the anti Christ sent to send the club to hell in the mind of some

Agree0 Disagree0

For all we know he was up on stage singing happy birthday. Stop being so eager to turn on our players because the stupid Scottish media type garbage guys. Can't believe some of you are condeming him without knowing any facts at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was up singing ABBA!

@Green lantern I am with Hamiltonbhoy on this, it is an agent led story because he is out of contract quotes like "he is prepared to take a wage cut" eh?
he does NOT have a wage coming in.
He turned us down 5 years ago and at 30+ his resale value to Celtic is nil.
This "exclusive" in DR is just another example of the lazy journalism from Scottish so called journalists as the agent has contacted papers with this "exclusive story"

Agree0 Disagree0

I was kinda thinking along the lines of you guys, never read it in the DR I stay away from them rags, just popped up on the old social media and thought I'd see what you guys thought,

Agree0 Disagree0

His agent is trying to trump up interest.
I hope we can do better .
He will probably cost £2m signing on .
