Is it true we're getting 6 million compo money from Leicester? If it is, this means we got Rodgers services for 2 and a half seasons for nothing and maybe even made a bit of profit. With 7 trophies won, not a bad bit of business when you look at it that way🤣.

My reading was £9 mill, but regardless whether 6 or 9 Mill I can’t see any of it going to the transfer fund or replacement manager. As normal to the deep pockets of directors and share holders unfortunately.

The saddest thing about this, on a par anyway, is the fact the board are getting away with thier running of the club, if Rodgers wasn’t such an egotistical @tsehole, he could have walked in the summer with all our supporters blessings, blaming the board, but instead the fake tan and false teeth rat takes the blame.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Mar 2019 22:23:39
The rat really thinks that in time, we will forgive him. Come on Watford do them on Sunday.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Mar 2019 22:35:16
Maybe we should oust Lawless and the board and give control back to the kelly's and white's.

02 Mar 2019 08:03:15
I’m assuming that’s a dig at me there donjim, no one comes out of this in a good light, watch our turnover reduce, we don’t have many big players left to sell, and the supporters accepting mediocrity, but that’s ok, we have £50m in the bank everything is fine the bonuses can be paid.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2019 08:43:15
The day when the top people at Celtic stop earning bonuses is when we really start to worry.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2019 09:22:12
Not so much a dig at you personally jaj more a post rom the frustation i feel when the board is blamed for everything. I don't know if you're old enough to remember what it was like before Fergus Mc Cann came in. As far as i know it was the board whogave us BR and paid him extremely well for his services. As far as i can see they backed him in the market and as business men can't be blamed for duds been signed except maybe for putting them on big contracts. I don't want to have to live through 1994 again or be in the siation rangers find themelves. In any business the board are entitled to bonuses and in this i agree with the post of coybig we need to worry if they're NOT getting bonuses. It was Lenny who united the club and brought back the thunder and took some big scalps which BR never managed. BR has finally united the support in our dislike of what he has done to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Mar 2019 20:49:04
Jack Aitchison ( out of contract ) and Scott Sinclair ( 1 year left ) should be given contracts. Any money from the Board, has to be spent on our defence in the Summer, not forwards, unless someone is leaving.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2019 04:12:19
I hope Sinclair signs and deal but I bet he will follow BR to Leicester. Now NL is in charge maybe Jack will be given a chance at a first team appearance.

This will probably be a Marmite suggestion but Arsene Wenger is an appointment which would excite me. Having said that, I have no idea whether he has retired or if he's open to a new challenge.

01 Mar 2019 20:25:55
Hi, Im new here. Been following this site for quite a while . good to see great passion and fair exchanged views. my take on the brendan rodgers debacle and this is only my view, is this: maybe he had come to terms regarding the situation of scottish football and the sectarian element, with the steve clark incident maybe that just made his mind up to get out. ok no one really knows what went on behind the scenes. and the way he left did leave a bad taste. on the positive side he left us in a good position and we have lenny in place who will hold the ship. there is more to this than meets the eye. there has been a lot of knee jerk reaction but as we all know celtic are more important than mere mortals.

01 Mar 2019 19:58:45
Is it true that the snake didn't even say goodbye to the players. Even Ranieri who was sacked returned to the club to thank the players. A true gent I think not.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Mar 2019 20:15:16
Sure I read he told the players he would be going to Leicester before he went down for “Talks”. Been in the making for a while this I think. I was told in January to get money on it happening by a girl I know. Never took her up in it because I thought it wouldn’t happen! MUG😌.

01 Mar 2019 20:46:26
Stuart John Kennedy came out and said Rodgers did not speak to the players. It Was Kennedy that told them.

Kev83 I didn’t know that. think we all new what a sleazy man he was but were just sticking our heads in the sand as the trophies came in. I hope his next sh! te is a hedgehog 🦔.

02 Mar 2019 00:40:48
Kev83 that is actually a blessing in disguise, no player with any respect for themselves would want to follow an ignorant rat like that to Leicester.

Hi Ed, what’s your take on that? I remember you saying these things don’t happen overnight and when it’s players transfers negotiations can stretch over a couple of windows. I appreciate it’s different with managers but surely it would take more that a matter of hours to discuss all the requirements on both sides of the table?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Hindsight's a wonderful thing buddy and piecing together what we now know it probably went something like this:
It was no secret that Leicester wanted Rodgers to succeed Claude Puel and Rodgers would have been made aware of this through his agent a while back and - contrary to what Rodgers himself said and most of us thought - Rodgers has intimated that he was interested in the job. The plan was more than likely that Puel would continue to the end of the season before Rodgers took over so his agent will have negotiated the core of the contract with Leicester for Rodgers taking over in the summer with only some minor details to be ironed out.
Leicester's recent run of form meant that the Leicester board had to make a decision over Puel and when they pulled the trigger they wanted someone to come in to start building for next season, I'd take a guess that Rodgers was informed over the weekend if he didn't take the job now they would look elsewhere and then that's when the situation came to a head and Rodgers had to make a decision. Once Rodgers decided he wanted to go Leicester knew all they had to do was offer the compensation and they had their man as Rodgers would inform our board he wanted to talk to them.}

Bhoys/ Ghirls,
This is my first post since before Christmas. My Daughter has been in and of Hospital for months, but fingers crossed she's getting there.
On the B. R front, to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Like everyone on this great site (about from the odd visitor! ) we bleed Celtic. It's in our Bones, It's in our Blood and for a so called fan to leave like he did is sickening. Like all fans, I have spent a fortune Supporting my Club and I still will.
Why? It's in my DNA. We move on now under Neil Lennon and I for one can't wait till our next Home against Aberdeen. I'll be there with my Daughter (I've told my wife she's going🤞🙏) singing my heart out supporting the Team I love.
And a wee message for Mr Rodgers there's a song which I adore, which you'll never get as your feelings are fake.
The song is called "Something Inside So Strong"
Only true Supporters have that feeling.

01 Mar 2019 20:01:52
Glad to hear your daughter is on the mend GT and I hope you both have a great time next week.
Managers and players come and go but hopefully our club will be there forever, that's the main thing.
As much as I have criticised Peter Lawwell and the board over their transfer policy, it actually looks a wise decision to not let Rodgers loose with millions of pounds of the clubs money. It looks to me that no matter what we spent on players, Rodgers would still have walked out at the first offer that came in for him.
Fans aren't stupid, we all knew that eventually Rodgers would leave, I for one never thought he would stay here for ten in a row. I didn't expect him to treat us like this though over a move to Leicester. We were on the verge of 2 huge games which could have defined our season yet he just walked out and left us in the lurch. No one who says they love the club could ever treat it in such a way.
I can't say I hate the man, he gave us some great memories over the last 3 years which you have to give him credit for, it just saddens me that once again illusions have been shattered by someone who I think most people thought was better than that.
Either way I don't think he'll be long at Leicester, If he starts off badly the their owners will soon get shot of him, and if he does well then bigger clubs will be after him. In that case I don't expect him to show them any more loyalty than he showed to us.

Just went across to Leicester City's Rumours site.
Unlike this one, they don't really support or discuss much on there.
I fully expected all sorts of stuff about BR joining as manager - nothing!
I also expected to see a load of posts from Celtic supporters but again, nothing.

Don't tell Ed 007; he'll want a holiday on that site for a wee while.
Must admit I haven't been on other sites for a while, but don't think any are as busy or appreciated as ours. I reckon this past week has almost been as hectic as the transfer windae lol.

{Ed007's Note - The Liverpool and Man Utd sites are the busiest ones and we must be up there as one of the next ones.}

I used to know a guy who was a Leicester City fan and he told me that Leicester would never be a big club because the majority of their fans are rugby fans first and foremost and football comes second. He included himself in that category.

Would you take Ranieri Ed?

{Ed007's Note - At 67-years old I'd ask if he fancied a DOF role.}

01 Mar 2019 15:54:02
I can't see there being a chance of that. Can you?

{Ed007's Note - Nah.}

01 Mar 2019 14:55:39
BR is now quoting " all my family are Celtic fans" but not including himself in that. If you listen to him after the Scottish Cup final in his first season now it is embarrassing. Words along the ones of, "no I'm not falling for this club, I was born into it" . I smell 🐃.

Well, I must be in the 1% of Celtic fans bracket that couldn't care less about him now. Disgraceful behaviour from a man who only in December seemed to be comitting his future to us.

{Ed007's Note - I would LOVE to see them relegated.}

01 Mar 2019 14:39:39
would love to see them getting relegated too 007 but unfortunately it won't happen as in what you call the pub league there are a few teams drunker than Leicester and in fact possibly BR is the only one drunk at Leicester - drunk on his own ego.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We can all dream mate lol and down there the fans are after the manager's head if they lose 3 games in a row. I said the other day, I give him 18 months, 2 years top and he'll have been sacked.}

01 Mar 2019 14:45:25
I was going to sat I hope they go down to the Championship but you beat me to it Ed. I heard fok talking about when He first came in he wanted his office all state of the art and it's like an aeroplane hanger! Lennon will think he's on the starship enterprise 😂😂😂.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Lennon had a wee dig about it in an interview the other day saying it's full of stuff out of Harrods and how you need binoculars to see the other side of the room now. Seemingly Rodgers had them in pulling down walls etc to make his office bigger the week he came in.
Have you noticed how many wee stories like that are coming out now - I'm not buying all the rubbish about him going to China and everybody knew he was leaving etc etc as it's obvious from the likes of Kennedy and the players in their interviews that they were as surprised as us - but the wee stories about his ego and the lies/spin that we ALL bought into?
Remember the story about the TRIFC fan? I don't think anyone believed that at the time but for him to make it up in the first place is worrying when you put it into the whole scenario/situation he created from day one up here.
Here's something I was talking to my mate about, is it possible that perhaps Lawwell had seen through all Rodgers bullsh1t early doors and the relationship broke down because Pedro basically didn't trust Rodgers but while he was winning trophies he held the power, did Pedro play the long game knowing at some point the real Rodgers, ego and all, would come to the fore?}

01 Mar 2019 15:13:59
For me he is worse than anything that’s gone on before.
It’s total betrayal and he sold is soul for the pub league.
I live in England and was in Norwich this week and stayed near their stadium, there isn't the history the way that surrounds our great club. I hope he gets fired before Xmas so with Ed on that one.

01 Mar 2019 15:32:53

{Ed007's Note - "I remember sitting in a bit of traffic in the Clyde Tunnel. There was an incident which meant all the cars were stopped. I saw this guy coming out of his car in a blue top and I thought, ‘Here we go’. But he said, ‘I just wanted to say thank you for coming up to Scottish football. I’m a Rangers supporter but you’re a breath of fresh air up here’.

01 Mar 2019 17:35:45
Puel style was similar. Vardy didn't like it. He also doesn't like the diet side of pro football one of the reason he chucked England or so I'm lead to believe. Vardy is a counter attacking forward so think he might leave although very powerful.

I'd particularly live to see Leicester relegated. Due to where I live the biggest club near me is Leicester. All 3 of my bosses support them and the only guy I work with in the workshop supports them too. I've had nothing but stick and gloating since BR left so I'll be looking forward to work every time they've been pumped. I wish nothing but failure for the snake.

Ntcham, Benkovic and LG should all be close to getting back and hopefully we will have Rogic, Christie and Cal-Mac before the end of March as well? No doubt the way things have been going we will pick up another injury or two before then, but I'm sure the returning players will want to show NL what they can do as soon as possible.
