Seriously the Milan games were never an issue, but the way Celtic tore the sheep apart second half was a joy to watch.

It's not that long ago to we had a lot of Deila sceptics . Can't be many left .

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 01:54:34
Good turn out too 50,000 Deila is slowly bringing back the thunder. Pitch looked a bit shocking though

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 06:50:27
Yes Chris I was a sceptic, nothing wrong with been honest, some of the early performances were brutal. Anyone who suggests otherwise I would suggest they see substance abuse experts
The person game was never going to be a test, just a banana skin. The Milan games, honesty I didn't expect us to win.The Aberdeen game, well, they controlled the game in the first half yesterday, the second half the way Celtic came out and played I'd say most of the PL teams would have had problems dealing with them.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 10:21:33
Think the performances the past month or so really have come on another level. There is such an intensity when we get out of gear. Aberdeen in the second half just could not deal with us. I almost felt sorry for them and 'Del'. Almost.

Glad you have seen the light TTTS. Can honestly see us bagging treble this season

Surely we all understood that when a club employs a completely different type of manager than has been there before, it is always going to take time to get the players to adopt a different way of playing . Some people wanted to give Deila time and others were happier to declare Deila a failure in order to be able to get at the board .
The one thing that I cannot understand is why us Celtic fans don't either say nothing, or else try to be positive . Fault finding and saying someone isn't up for the job ( especially someone only recently appointed ) isn't very helpful to say the least .
It's encumbered on all Celtic supporters to encourage, the manager and players.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Mar 2015 21:42:42
That was as good a second half performance that I've seen in a long long time.
After the tough match on Thursday, it was no surprise that they took a while to get going, but when they did they tore Aberdeen to shreds.
Well done to Ronny and the team, they are really making progress, and some of the football they are playing is great to watch, to be doing it against good teams makes it all the more pleasing.
It was great as well that they shut the Aberdeen fans up, there wasn't a peep out of them at the end.

02 Mar 2015 12:10:12
We are going places with this manager and these players . There is something about Deila and the non.playing staff he has around him that is catching on. The players listen to him as does everyone else around the club . I think he has the ability to build the squad he wants, and I don't think the board will have to spend a fortune on the players he needs to keep us improving .

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 14:47:52
I think we will need a new defence for next year with no CBs VVD will move on. So there will have to be some money to bring in 2 CBs at least. I hope and I am sure RD has got his new CBs followed to come in Quickly for the CL qualifiers would not be surprised if they were Scandinavians as he will know that market better

03 Mar 2015 17:48:58
Tony I wouldn't worry about next season, if we need to centre halves Deila will get them . Enjoy this season for what it is worth, worry about next season after this season is over.

Quick question, are there any players in the scottish league that would get in to our team at present?

IMO we signed the only two left that would in Armstrong and GMS.

Y'know, in any previous key match I would have been pretty concerned at losing Kris Commons early doors. without taking anything away from Kris, it was good to know we had a very able replacement in young Armstrong, ready and able to slot in.
Happy days indeed.

Excellent from the team today after that tough game during the week. I think we can wave goodbye to the so called "title challenge" now. I was extremely disappointed however to hear some of our supporters booing Shay Logan every time he touched the ball. Finally, it was good to see Willo Flood and Del Boy put back in their box after their garbage this week about us being scared and accusing us of over celebrating at Pittodrie.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2015 00:29:17
I wasn't one bit disappointed, Logan accused one of our players of using a racist term . To my mind a football pitch during a game is a fairly busy place, and I find it difficult to believe if Tonev had twice called him racist terms, how he couldn't get some one to back him up.
If I thought I heard something like that I would seek verification from colleagues in the vicinity, if I couldn't get that I wouldn't persist .

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Or to rephrase that, one of our players was found guilty of racially abusing Logan then lost the appeal hearing as well. He was suspended for 7 games and CFC said:

'We would like to make it clear that at no stage was it ever suggested that Shay Logan had made any false allegations.'

Are you saying the club lied to the fans and if so can you prove that?
This is another case of fans picking and choosing what rules they agree with, if it was an Aberdeen player accused by one of ours he'd be guilty no matter what happened, they'll take the moral high-ground over racism and sectarianism as long as the spotlight isn't shone on one of their own - because nobody connected to CFC could EVER be a racist!!
The panty-wetters have got their knickers in a twist over a flare yet happily back a player.. oops...players who have been proven to be racist and nobody sees what's wrong with that?
The same clowns are on social media grassing fellow football fans into police and employers to try and get them sack, there's them auld working class ideals shining through again, I feel ssooo proud to associated with vermin like that.}

02 Mar 2015 07:20:42
There is no evidence it was the same fans booing that are against flares. There were boos but they seemed to be coming from higher up than where I was sitting but I've no idea who it was.,

The same folk on social media outraged at our own fans tittle tattling had no problem tittle tattling on a young Hearts fans a few months ago doing a nazi thing. These so called trendier fans have more faces than the town clock are for the watching, you have no idea the length they will go to for credibility and to raise their profile.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 07:36:32
I never understood what the boy from Aberdeen had to gain from lying about the incident, all he was ever going to do wad give himself a lot of hassle. Maybe he should be congratulated for not taking the easy way out and just ignoring it .

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 10:10:40
@Chris02 come on man! If someone did that to you you'd make sure everybody and their granny knew about it whether you could prove it or not. I felt totally embarrassed even though it was nowhere near a majority of the support doing it. If the same thing happened with that mob across in Govan, the amount of people on here foaming at the mouth and claiming the moral high ground would be unreal. And it's a shame that we're on here talking about this instead of a magnificent performance but it's left a right bad taste for me.

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Mar 2015 07:02:35
No arguments with that ed, infact I'd say most of us have an agenda of some type . Mine being, I will never warm to Biton after seeing the picture of him embracing the world's Nr1 terrorist. You can imagine the backlash from the "panty wetters"if old Stokie was pictured with his arm around some of Ireland'spolitical activists.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Mar 2015 18:08:55
I know no one who Logan told malicious lies . I would have been happier with the outcome if Logan had someone to back him up or if this case they decided on the balance of possibility Tonev had been sentenced to 7 games with five or six suspended . Racism has no place in Scottish Football and as far as chants and abuse towards black people there doesn't appear to be a major problem .
Gambling is always a major concern with football authorities . Two players from the one club in Scotland have been found guilty of numerous offences, the first included games in which he played, he swas suspended for 12 matches 9 of which were suspended . The second player was found guilty of betting in numerous matches, at least one Scottish match and was suspended for one game . Both players play for Rangers .

I am trying to point out the major differences in punishment That has been handed out in these instances .
Both are serious offences, the betting offences were clear cut, the racial abuse was certainly not as clear cut .

I have been one of Delia's doubters from the start but even I am coming around, I think it is a mixture of things which has helped Delia, he has learned from his mistakes, the players have now bought into his fitness regime and his high tempo pressing game you can see the players' energy levels are so much higher. We still have a bit to go but even I am now thinking the treble could be on, although I do not buy into this idea Dundee United are both weaker by us getting Armstrong and GMS and them losing form I expect 3 very hard games the first next week at Tannadice. But well done Delia for giving all us fans an exciting team to watch again.

First off I'd like to say how great it feels to be a Celtic fan just now. After the heroics in the san siro we came back and easily squashed our nearest rivials in the league. Ronny's fitness regime has banished the european hangovers of past years to the bin.

Anyhoos I was in the boozer after the game today and we got talking about who we should keep and who we should look to move on.

The usual suspects like Efe and Stokes were mentioned as exits, personally I'd keep big Efe as backup, but the one we all agreed on was James Forrest.

Does anyone think he has any future at the club?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

01 Mar 2015 18:40:27
I think Forrest has been completely superseded by Mackay-Steven now

Everyone has their opinion of the various Celtic footballers and that's what football is all about . Many Celtic fans should have red faces as they had sneered laughed and abused Ambrose over the months . In the last three games he has played in each of our four back four positions and played bloody well in each of them . We would be mad to sell Ambrose unless he insisted in going, if he did could anyone blame him .

Forrest, maybe in the distant past, but he has shown he has special ability .
Maybe Deila, as he has improved so many of our players, will be able to restore Forrest to his original best . I think we should leave Forrest future to the summer, maybe we will see positive signs . I hate us encouraging a player who once was so good to leave .

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Is his special ability, running about nightclubs with his banger hanging out showing it to women? Classy.}

02 Mar 2015 02:02:13
Should have cashed in on him when his stock was high won't be worth a couple of million now. When you see what GMS has done already it shows what Forrest hasn't done all this time. Would like McGinn back and punt Forrest in the summer

No idea where we summoned up the energy for that 2nd half performance. Unbelievable will to win and hunger in this team. Standouts for me were Denayer and Van Dijk who I thought were both superb and in the 2nd half I thought McKay-Stevens and Johansen ran the show. Think I need some of what Johansen is on. I've never seen anyone with better fitness, ever.
In todays market and considering his age and status in the national team, what does everyone think Johansen is worth? Not that I want to lose him, To be honest, I'd give him an improved contract now before his head is turned although does seem settled.

Hi Marty, No idea what he is worth mate but given RD is his old boss as well cannot see him in any hurry to leave for foreseeable future IMO

If you look at all the Scandinavian players that have came our way like Mjallby, Larsson even Rieper & Rieseth NONE of them have ever "rocked the boat" to get away from the club in all probability it is a bit like "home from home" here just my opinion, as you say he does seem settled

As a said plenty out there to tap into 5 or 6 that been highlighted before on here surely worth a punt and RD should know them better than most having seen them and on record as saying that is the route he wants to go down!

I hope you're right Jamie about him staying but you with agents nowadays you never know. Celtic should go out and show him how important he is to our team by giving him a healthy wage increase. In my opinion he has earned that as I can't see him being anywhere near the top earners.
In terms of signings, I think we will be just as hard placed to replace Denayer than Van Dijk. To think that he is only 19, that's a scary thought when you think centre backs don't reach their peak until their late 20s. I honestly think he will make it into the Man City first team one day. I do feel, green tinted specs aside, that he should stay and develop with us for another year then go back to City with hopefully 1 year of Champs League experience under his belt. Then, I feel, he could realistically challenge for a first team place.

01 Mar 2015 18:59:51
I like your train of thought Marty would not surprise me if they are working on a new contract for SJ just feel he more than anyone will want to be a part of the RD regime he will only improve him again IMO

In terms of CH's there a couple of real good potential ones in Norway Forren (Molde) Masden (Stromsgodset) and as Ed pointed Strandberg (Rosenberg) all available as Bosman's!

As for the Man City Connection a embrace that to who wouldn't want to be a part of the richest club in the world's "network" RD has a fab rapport with MC prior to coming to Celtic and as Ed pointed out Peter Lawell's son is a part of the Man City set up (scouting or marketing?) so no to surprise to me if we get one or two a season from them MC have 3 or 4 both Norwegian's and Belguim lads among there set up in the development squads including one who played under RD at Stromsgodset so it is in all probability going to happen (y)

Just had to say that a thought Johnasen was by far the best player on the pitch today by a mile! not sure how Denayer got MOTD IMO, for just over a million pounds he is proving some bit of business!

There is undoubtedly emerging talent from Norway IMO a have highlighted four or five of them ALL available on Bosman's not to mention the TWO that Ed has highlighted also surely another plunder into there is a real worth while consideration given how we benefited from Lustig from there too?

Yes indded, Stefan Johansen is turning out to be one of Celtic's really super signings, 100 percent winner, perpetual motion man, fits into Ronny's ideas perfectly.
We were something else in the 2nd half and could have scored another 3, but we showed everyone we are the Champs and we will remain Champs.

Agree4 Disagree0

01 Mar 2015 18:04:49
For me, Gary Mackay-Stevens was the best today, although he didn't really do anything in the first half when Celtic were quiet. Johansen is something else tho, with the running.

One wonders what effect Ronny will have not just on Celtic but on Scottish football, as the other teams really don't have a choice at this point but to intensify the training and regimen if they want to press and compete. Aberdeen played like we do for 30-40 minutes today, but couldn't hold out.

Press the red button on your SLY remote to see grown men greet!
Neil McCann - the wee rat, can never give Celtic any credit; but even WGS is wearing 'sheep's' clothing for SLY's benefit.
OK we had a Euro hangover in the first half hour and never turned up; but for all their possession, Aberdeen rarely troubled Gordon.
The goal could not have been timed better and changed the whole half time team talk and gave the players a huge boost of energy and confidence.

I cannot praise the team and manager enough for this result - especially after such a harrowing experience on Thursday, the mental tiredness, the travelling and the early kick off, the opposition, would all have been too much for some previous Celtic sides. However; we are playing with style, graft, energy, skill and belief and all credit to RD and the team.
Surely Slug junior can have no complaints or excuses?

Nothing has been won yet, but we must take a lot of confidence from the way we play and the attitude we are showing and push on for glory.
The really good thing for me is that there is still room for improvement all over the pitch and RD knows it and will push for it.
We could have scored 7 or 8 again today and although we defended very, very well, there are still mistakes in possession and weak tackles here and there.
Sorry, just being bitton. sorry bitty ha ha.

Very true Jungle Jim Aberdeen were on top for the first 30 mins, that's fair enough but they never cut us open, they rarely troubled Gordon and they were never just missing with their final ball either . Once we started to play we could have beaten Hearts total for yesterday, but that wouldn't be good for Scottish Football.

Massive 3 points. Was worried first half as we looked a bit off the pace which I can understand after the effort we put in on Thursday night but as soon as the first goal went in we took control and on the hour mark you would have thought it was Aberdeen who had played on Thursday night with 10 men. Well done to all, Especially RD.

SOS boy. Ambrose played at left back because Deila wanted to keep as many of his back 6 playing in their normal positions . There is a line of thought that with the more defensive members of the team, you keep changes to the minimum. Moving Matthews to left back and bringing in Ambrose would have been two changes .
