Well ED007, what do you have to say about Griffiths performance today?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - How many goals should he have scored though? A quality striker would have easily scored five or six today.}

Watching the wee man today I was impressed, I've never seen such a livewire striker since the days of the King of Kings, I had my doubts, but I think if he keeps his head down and stays out of City centres at weekends he could go on to being a big player for us. By the way my comments are nothing to do with having a sky diver on him for a hat-trick the day at 16's . Yee ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed talk about harsh. The guy scores 3 goals and runs his socks off for the team and you can't give him credit for that is poor form. I respect your views on him but credit where it is due. Give the lad a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Why's it harsh, how many 'easy' chances did he miss today? In Europe you don't get 2/3 chances to score, you get one and need to take it, that's the difference between a quality striker and Griffiths.}

Av had a few ed but something tells me griffiths will reach over 100 he's a right nippy sweety and the type a player a absolutely despize playing against fair ehnough a dnt play anywhere near that level but the aggresion and anger in a player when channeled proprly can be excellent av got faith in.the wee man anyway he doesny stop graftin ats good ehnough for me

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, when he's in europe, you can criticise him when he misses a handful of chances, but why don't you give him a well done today, even if it sticks in you throat.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm not as fickle as some.}

I'll gee him a well done today aindoh even though ed won't! He'll score bucket loads in spl and only time will tell if he can score at the highest level, my biggest fear is it's only a matter of time before he's rolling about Sauchiehall St on a Saturday night with some current bun.

Agree0 Disagree0

The point is Ed 7 that he gets himself into these scoring positions, yes he missed easier opportunities to score but his hattrick yesterday were well taken. Leigh will score a barrow load of goals in SPL. We cannot judge him that he is a CL player or not, give the lad a chance. I was unhappy that we signed him in the first place because of his bad rep but if he keeps his head down and grafts like he has done already I will support him as long as he is wearing the hoops. Leigh knows this is his last chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Sorry I thought the point was to score goals, not miss open ones.}

OOPS SENT LAST POST TOO SOON! LOL
Ed you're being unfair on Griffiths. You have made it clear you don't like him and you wish he wasn't at Celtic but to criticise a guy who scores a hat trick is a bit fickle and narrow minded of you. Yes he could have scored more but even Henrik missed sitters on occasion. Every striker misses sitters, even Messi, Ronaldo etc. It's a feature of the game.
If he scored 10 in every game you'd still hate the guy and that's fair enough but to openly criticise a very good performance when he's just settling into the team is a bit rich. I thought you were better than that.

Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Give me strength, you're comparing him to Henrik, Messi and Ronaldo ffs!}

Would you prefer chrisbhoy said Boyd Mackay and daly. The point was all players miss chances good or bad but if they score a hat-trick their performance on that day should be reflected positively.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Well at least Boyd, Mackay, Daly or even Sandaza would have been nearer Griffiths' level for a comparison.}

Let's put this one to bed guys,
Are the people on here slating and always putting griffiths down doing so
On the basis that they don't rate him
Or is it because the board never pushed the boat out for a big money buy who may well have been a flop
Or is it that his off field antics are the real problem, I for 1 like the boy as a player, and that's enough for me, his personal stuff has nothing to do with anybody, hear a lot off this he's a fascist whoremaster got cairns all over the place and just a down rite no gooder, well have a look around folks that's just life I beg there's someone you all know and probably love who's just like that and hey, who's never said or done something we regret, just don't use it as an excuse against him support the boy and if he fails then he fails

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Can't it be all 3? For a start our own manager said he wouldn't get in his team 6/7 months before signing him. The manager also said he would be buying players for the CL qualifiers in January and then bought a striker from the 3rd tier of English football.
We'll see what you are saying about what he does off the field when he is inevitably splashed all over the front pages AGAIN, what can he add to the list being a no-use father, racist, thief, assaulting kids etc etc.
Have a look around I'm sure we all know girls that have been dumped with kids as the dad refuses to pay for them or have any part of bringing them up, we all know people who aren't from Scotland as well and I'm sure everyone has kids/nieces/nephews/grandkids who you would be raging if a grown man (who is supposed to be a role-model to youngsters) assaulted them at a fairground.}

Well ed your entitled to your opinion mate a lot off which I agree wholeheartedly with but taking your first two responses with Lennon saying this about no getting in team and champions league striker, your gripe and everyone else's who agrees with you should be solely with the club and Lennon, it's not the boys fault we signed him, and secondly if the boy fails off the field it will be solely down to him but until then I really wish we would get behind him, where would we be without second chances in life ( he who cast the first stone comes to mind ) think it's going to be one off these agree to disagree moments

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I have plenty of gripes with the club and the manager, one of them is the signing of Griffiths.}

Fair play to you for standing by what you think is right, suppose only time will tell hopefully the guy can prove everyone wrong on and off the field . At end Of the day we all want what's best for celtic fc

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If he is the calibre of player we are targeting I have serious reservations about the team's chances of reaching the CL group stages next season never mind making a better impression in it than we did this season. Watt and Atajic should have been given the chance to shine in the second half of this season rather than sign Griffiths, Atajic is on loan to a team in the same league we bought Griffiths from, I find it bizarre that our manager isn't willing to give youth players a chance and it's shocking that when they go out on loan the clubs complain about their fitness levels. That shows that they are being neglected on the training/coaching side of things at Celtic.}

@ed007 I personally don't think lennon has got what it takes to be a manager at any club. He is out his depth and this is a major failing appointing that lawell is responsible for. Matters are going to get worse untill he is gone, lawell too. there's balancing the books, but cutting corners and appointing a rookie is not acceptable for a club the size of celtic. Its never worked at any other big club(to my knowledge)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Neil Lennon the myth, his background and the disgusting personal, physical and life threatening attacks on him have blinkered people to his failings as a manager.}

Ed I didn't compare him to any other player. I said EVEN those guys have missed sitters on occasion. The same applies to players at every level in every league in every country in the world. I'm surprised that in your position as Editor on the forum you can allow your emotions to take over common sense. Your dislike of the guy's antics off the field is perhaps well founded but that's not what we're here to talk about.

Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm not surprised you're not an editor, you obviously know nothing about doing it. We're here to talk about anything people want to, think about it, it's only common sense.}

Ed, you're taking things too personally here. If that's what it takes to be an editor then I'll never be putting my name forward, not that I have ever considered doing so anyway. But then again, I'm already a "spokesman" for the club according to your previous comments so I'd never have enough time to keep everyone happy!

Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - So I am asked for a personal opinion but I take things too personally, did you really think of that all by yourself?
You have taken a pop at me for giving my opinion and said,

'but that's not what we're here to talk about.'

And then I have a post from you asking me for my opinion on something that has nothing whatsoever to do with Celtic.... IMO you seem to be lacking this common sense you are alluding to. If you want to talk about The Rangers they have their own page to do it, and just to quote you again,

'but that's not what we're here to talk about'

Great result today well done Griffiths Superb hat trick wee man! Why no balde or pukki. And why Sammy anywhere Near the squad? Could. Be worse could be scraping wins in last minute at EFI. Or our manager could be head butting folk? Lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Delighted that we finally managed to get a bundle of goals, although we are missing an awful lot of chances.

The team selection is baffling at times not the whole team, but things like playing Brown when he needs a rest, playing Commons as a sub when he should be given rest time, Samaras actually just being there is wrong. Lost about the Balde and Pukki situation - maybe something has happened behind the scenes ( fed up with not getting game time )

Wasn't at the game so couldn't say if it was entertaining or not but this is the scoreline that should be a regular occurance at home against any team in Scotland. Whilst I agree we have no divine right to win everygame, we are the Bayern Munich of Scotland and they blow away everyone almost everyweek so why don't we.

I did however hear that Fergus McCann was given a great reception and I think we really should name a stand after this man. When I was young I simply didn't understand what he was doing especially with the Three Amigo's but with time you realise he was simply ensuring Celtic Football Club would not be held to ransom by no-one and that no player is bigger than our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Kev.T. If it was not for 'The Bunnett' you and I would not be posting on this forum. I still cringe when I think about when he got booed at Parkhead.Fergus played a huge part in our teams history and he should be proud what he done for our club and Celtic FC directors should reconize this.

Agree0 Disagree0

There were others waiting to step in so calm down with the we wouldn't be here piss. Our history might have taken a different path but we would still be here

God Bless Brian Quinn!

The man who saved Celtic from the illegal use of EBTs.

Hail, Hail.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Apparently they are not illegal, and they don`t even gain you a sporting advantage!!!

chasaboy

Agree0 Disagree0

@1. EBT saves money on tax, thus providing extra cash to buy players that the club using EBT, would not have ability to buy without this scheme. Sounds like a sporting advantage to me
