not the worst player out there >>>>.
Scottish young and we all knew that VVD would be a selling player once we knew how good he is.
so 1 defender on the horizon, Ronny knows who he wants and is not afraid to say so.

The more I see and hear him the more I like him as our leader.

#Ronny

was that a confirmation via an alleged quote from that rag paper? Or from the official web site Killy? Not saying its not true just wondered the source?

Was reading rd on danny Wilson, and also seen somewhere that we're interested in some guy from millwall!! Alan dunne or somthin! This really ain't a good sign if that's the standard of player we're lookin at! Danny Wilson, being one of that mob aside Is a bang average at best! No where near the standard we need for the CL qualifiers! And I'm hoping this garbage about this guy from millwall is one of the best April fools I've heard yet! Not going to start panicking! But I'm seriously hoping we're aiming a hell of a lot higher than players like this!

What he said was he was one of a number of players we were looking at however, it was nothing serious and he was a good player no more He was being diplomatic no more than that

I'm with Wiss.

I HOPE we do go for a better calibre but he would be a decent squad player. I'd have him over O'Connell for example but it depends on who leaves and who else would be brought in. If he was VVDs replacement then it's a step back.

Think myself and others clutch at straws a bit with some of the names we get linked with in the HOPE they might turn out to be great players.

The Iranian lad has a great record from a position I'd like to see us bring in somebody new but he's been playing dutch second flight football.

The boy Benali I would have as back up to Brown and Bitton. He was captaining some good youth sides, left England because he was too 'cultured', but again, doesn't really get me too excited.

And Wilson no doubt has leadership skills, knows the Scottish game and would cope I think with the SPFL as third choice CB, and he could improve given his age. But again, he's essentially been playing Scottish Championship.

I know people disagree but if we get say, 8m for VVD, the majority of that should be spent on his replacement(s), and then a couple million can be reinvested on whatever, put in the bank, peoples pockets or wherever it goes.

Bring in pedigree and/or experience. WGS tenure had the right idea with some of the players brought in - Zurawski, Hinkel, JVoH, Boruc, Naka, even Gravesen and Jarosik - these players had played good league standard, European and International games; you'd heard of some of them. Couple this bit quality in each department with what RD is doing and I think we'd have a right good recipe.

Lets just HOPE we do.

Just because we have or have not heard about players Celtic sign , doesn't make a signing good or poor . We all had heard about Junihno ( spelling ) but he did nothing for us . The skill is buying players that will fit in and improve us . That's how professionals like Deila are different from us fans .

It's a fair point chris of course. Ok so maybe not 'because we've heard of them' quite so literally but players who are already at a level we're trying to get to. I understand we're in a position where we have to develop players ourselves but that's as much of a risk. There are better footballers out there available, RD will share that much at least with me. He said earlier in the season, to paraphrase, that "we might not have the best players but we can get the best team". I'm totally on the same wavelength there and right behind him but he'll have a better chance with better players. Just seems like too often we're having to start over in areas.

Chris02 I'm sure not so long ago you were slating people for criticising players. So it's okay for u to slate Juninho?

Dn30

I don't think our Brazilian friend, would claim to have starred for Celtic .
As far as I know he isn't playing for us now , nor is he likely in the future . I have regularly criticised ex players , as it doesn't affect their performance for us .

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2015 18:16:38
Chris, folk on here criticising players will not affect their performances. If it does, then they don't have the mentallity anyway, so no loss.

03 Apr 2015 18:27:29
Ah right chris02 I get u. Basically it's okay to slate an ex-player cause u say so? Yet in past it's not okay for me or anyone else to slate an ex-manager? Digging a hole for yourself son. Best stay aff the scoops for a while. Your heads fried

Don't be naive to think there is anything in this Kyle Lafferty story. A pi$h april fools that has gone down like a lead balloon.

Sorry but has to be said cause it's a relevant point. there was a good few folk on this defending Lennon signing duds like pukki, balde etc blaming the scouts which is fair enough.if we go by same method this season, scouts are the same as last season, I'm sure they would know Lafferty would be an absolute NO NO

A certain website saying we've been watching. wait for it. Kyle Lafferty. Can you imagine! Think the player and the board would be hounded out with pitchforks and lanterns. I wanna know how much these 'reporters' are on then I might just hand in my CV.

Pitchforks and lanterns! Ha ha, stick a CV in Jim! You couldn't write any worse than the tosh currently printed in the daily toilet rolls. Let's face it, Keith Jackson and Hugh Keevins have been making a living out of writing utter Kiwis for years now.

Liam Henderson joins Rosenberg for 3month loan, I think this could be a good move for him to get some valuable experience at a team challenging for honours and some playing time .

Believable2 Unbelievable0

02 Apr 2015 10:02:18
I the opportunity for regular football is the only reason to loan him for the short term, because he looks to have terrific potential and I would hate to lose him in the long term.
It was ominous for him and McGregor when we signed Armstrong and GMS, but I hope they both have a future at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Apr 2015 12:32:09
McGregor must be one ofthe worst players I have seen in a Celtic top for many a year. I would take any offer that came in for him, if any does!

I like Henderson , but I don't think he is going to make it with us now . Deila's strength we have been told is developing young playersom . I think Henderson would have been better here ,, working under Deila on a daily basis .
Those who have went out from Celtic on loan have nearly all come back worse. L Miller 13/14 years ago is the last I can remember .
