Got to admit it, that lad Ronaldo can play a bit. He already has cemented his place as an all time great player and I think by the time he hangs up his boots he'll be looked upon as the greatest ever. All the great players produce the goods when it matters most and this lad certainly does that consistently. To think I never rated him when he first arrived at Man Utd, I thought he was a bit of a show pony, how wrong could I be. Stevie

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Always been a huge fan.
I find it somehow wrong comparing him with Messi, they're so different.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree to a point don't think he is the greatest ever for me the greatest ever player was zidane (pre headbutt) but Ronaldo might be worth a cheeky wee 5million bid in January?

"We don't do walking away" - Carla, DR Who's assistant, episode in 2010. Shown on TV last night on DR Who anniversary night.

Copied by Sally.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I won't lie to you i'm a Dr Who fan.thats why I will back anyone in a suit to run the rangers. I do it to Klingon to my job.

Agree0 Disagree0

RFC is evidence u cannot time travel.

Nobody rangers minded from the future came back to stop SDM selling to Whyte.

Either that or there's nobody rangers minded at all in the future. ;) {Ed007's Note - Or there is no Rangers/The Rangers/Sevco/Newclub. The majority all travelled back to 1690 to see if the stories about King Billy being gay were true. After over half of the 5 billion (who travelled to wreck Manchester) had experienced their Kings' gentle caressing they still weren't sure, some were asking for a second and even third opinion.
The rest of them like the Sons of Struth went back to Gourock in 1920 to demand the truth of what happened to William Walton. SoS Demand The Truth.}

Nice to see the Sevco situation rearing it's ugly dead head again.This 'demoted/relegated'nonsense has been going on long enough.The hearts situation will, as a poster said, be very interesting.

I don't have to list the multitude of reasons that prove they did indeed die, we know them all.We also know various media figures who continue to perpetrate this blatant lie. The shocking attitude of the guests and presenters on clyde prove this better than most. You might a expect a seasoned news hound like Keevins might ask certain people a searching question perhaps.

Maybe a good moderator on a radio show, after arguments and debate on the subject for months, might get an expert guest in to the studio to explain the what 'liquidation' means.What do we get? An overweight propagandist ex rangers player shouting 140 years of history at a caller. To smother this at every possible opportunity is a calculated move, make no mistake of that.

To paraphrase Jack Nicholson 'they can't handle the truth'. When this same club myth explodes there are a few scenarios that might unfold.Would Sevco still have the same season ticket sales? What if the licence is revoked and they are put out the league? The Scottish media need, and are desperate to facilitate, a healthy Sevco in the top league. Fingers in the ears and ask no questions. Nobody except Sevconians believe they are the same club, but try opening that can of worms on clyde.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Could it be that due to ongoing investigations the media have been told the "can of worms " must remain unopened because to open it would jeapordise future proceedings?

Agree0 Disagree0

@andybhoy: Doubt it, it's been happening too long.I would say it's fear of the backlash and they all want sometime else to blame. The Jim Spence affair was never raised on clyde by any of the the reporters, I refuse to call them journalists, or Dellahunt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Walter Smith, Sandy Jardine, Sir David Murray, Richard Gough, Charles Green and James Traynor have all admitted Rangers died - why do they get so angry when we say it here? Or PL cracks a joke?

Jabba is the most gullible guy. He states vociferously in the press it's a new club, ego falls for the director status and thirty shillings. He thinks he's interviewing Sally in the darkened room but its Jabba being interviewed. Its Jabba who confirms he was wrong and it's the same club. At that point Jabba was no more use to them and could be discarded at any point. Gullible.

Not journalists I agree with you on that GJ; but they are dellahunts. pea

Agree0 Disagree0

It staggers me, although does not surprise me, that media etc in this country do not understand what the word "liquidation" means!

Agree0 Disagree0

In law, liquidation is the process by which a company (or part of a company) is BROUGHT TO AN END, and the ASSETS AND PROPERTY OF THE COMPANY REDISTRIBUTED. Liquidation is also sometimes referred to as winding-up or dissolution, although dissolution technically refers to the last stage of liquidation. The process of liquidation also arises when customs, an authority or agency in a country responsible for collecting and safeguarding customs duties, determines the final computation or ascertainment of the duties or drawback accruing on an entry.

Liquidation may either be compulsory (sometimes referred to as a creditors' liquidation) or voluntary (sometimes referred to as a shareholders' liquidation, although some voluntary liquidations are controlled by the creditors).

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys my memory not the best but wasn't there quotes by Chuckles and walter of cardigan about the "new club" and didn't the daily rag have headlines of RIP or something like that, (wud be grateful for exact quotes etc) if people in the know like that said it was a new club why are others not in the know doubting it lol. {Ed007's Note -

Charles Green: "We always wanted a CVA in order to preserve that history."

Charles Green: (speaking about Dave King) "...for a man who is the second largest shareholder in the Club...to go out publicly and recommend that the creditors vote down the CVA it seems to me quite unbelievable because what we're doing in that is saying the history, the tradition, everything that is great about this Club, is swept aside. Why??!"

Craig Whyte: "Liquidation is no good for Rangers. It will end 140 years of history."

Jim Traynor: "They'll slip into liquidation within the next couple of weeks with a new company emerging but 140 years of history, triumph and tears, will have ended... No matter how Charles Green attempts to dress it up, a newco equals a new club. When the CVA was thrown out Rangers as we know them died."

Jim Traynor: "(Whyte) also added: “What other country in the world would deal with one of their biggest clubs in the way they have and demote them to the Third Division.” Wrong again, Craig. Rangers had to go there because they were a new club starting over."

Jim Traynor: "Rangers FC as we know them are dead. It’s all over. They are about to shut down for ever but not a single person among the game’s hierarchy was open for comment."

No matter how Charles Green attempts to dress it up, a newco equals a new club. When the CVA was thrown out Rangers as we know them died.

They were closed and a newco must start from scratch although their fans will insist the history will be boxed up with the strips and balls and carried into the future with the new club.

Technically that history belongs to something else, some other company but even though the governing bodies appear consumed by technicalities and protocol supporters have other priorities.

Of course, they could let them back in while insisting the new club has to accept penalties for the behaviour of the old, especially if the SPL enquiry finds Rangers guilty of issuing players dual contracts with their EBTs.

Walter Smith: ""We wish the new Rangers Football Club every good fortune."

Terry Butcher: "Ally McCoist, Kenny McDowall, Ian Durrant, Jim Stewart — all fantastic people. It is still a brilliant club for me, although technically it is now a new club."

Richard Gough: "The club I gave blood, sweat and tears for is dead. Whose fault is it? I don't care."

Kevin Drinkell: "the reality is that in technical terms, the doors are closed on the history of Rangers...There will be plenty of pedants who feel the old Rangers are now gone, and technically they are right."

Naismith " I am extremely proud of the actions we took but I am disappointed and angry Rangers FC no longer exists in its original form."

“140 years of history is formally ended” (The Herald)

Paul Clark from Duff & Phelps: "The shell that it used to operate from – and I understand the history of it – would be the thing that disappears."

FIFA: "Rangers’ perilous financial position had been an open secret but there was still shock when, after 140 years of history and a world record 54 league titles, the club was consigned to liquidation."

Rangers fans banner: "Ignore us at your peril, sink us and we'll sink you. Say no to Newco. Rangers fans say no to liquidation."

The Rangers Football Club PLC website 5th April 2012:

"Show The Red Card To Liquidation!

Anti-Liquidation Demo On Saturday!

On Saturday versus St Mirren 50,000 Bears will show that Rangers will not die by giving a red card to the threat of liquidation.

At kick off and in the 18th and 72nd minutes - 1872! - raise your red card and voice your determination not to support anyone who is trying to drag the club down into liquidation.

As a guy who watches a lot of football, including Celtic games whenever they are on, I just can not understand what Neil Lennon sees in James Forrest. He was a traditional winger who had a lot of potential at a young age, and I hear folk still saying he's young and will come good. isn't he 23 or there abouts? By that age, a player who has had as many chances as Forrest has had should surely be a reliable player, yes there will always be mprovements to be made, but he should not still living off the "potential" tag. Lennon seems to have this idea that he can play centrally, almost as a number 10, which for me is ridiculous. He seems to hide for 95% of games I've watched and seems always to be looking to move away from the play rather than asking for the ball and looking to get involved. I do feel Celtic are lacking a creative, attacking midfielder who can link play from middle to front, but Forrest isn't the answer for me. I go to Scotland matches too and he infuriates me at times. If he's going to get chances I feel NL should be playing him wide right where he can pick it up and run at people as this is what he can do well at times, with a run out there he could get that consistency in his game perhaps.

What are the CFC supporting posters on here's thoughts on Forrest? And yours Ed007? {Ed007's Note - I am not his biggest fan and feel that this is his make or break season at CFC. His development over the last few seasons has been atrocious and if he doesn't pull it together for the remainder of the season I would take any amount I could get for him.
He is basically a winger with no consistent end product, once in a blue moon decent crosses or the odd goal is nowhere near enough good enough for CFC. And don't start me on the 'he's an old fashioned winger' nonsense, there were garbage wingers back then as well.
99% of the time Forrest is a waste of a jersey and just another example of Scottish players losing something between Under 21 and senior level. He is very near the top of my list of players who should be moved on and replaced with better quality, it shouldn't be too hard to find a more consistently better player than Forrest.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cant argue with the OP and Bond on this one. A few months ago Lenny claimed he was one of the BEST EVER to play for Celtic, I sincerely hope it was a slip of the tongue.

Even allowing for his stop-start period through injury the signs were there. The lack of consistency was a particular annoyance of mine, one good game then three with pretty much nothing. Is he being asked to do things he cannot manage?

Let him play touchline wide dragging full backs and centre backs out of position, this might allow him to do when he started making a name for himself, namely blitzing defenders and shooting or crossing. I also think his gait when running is all wrong, but that's another debate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more. I've been saying similar about Forrest for some time now. He has failed to impress on even a half-consistent basis. Yes, he does perform well once in a while but he is not worth keeping in my opinion.
I'm sure he's a decent lad and all that, I'm not having a go at him personally. I just don't think he's a good enough player and I believe the good ship called "Potential" has sailed before he could grab his bags and get on board.

hi bhoys

we can say all we want about young ish Jamesy but the simple fact is Neil Lennon loves this bhoy as a player so unless a team offers crazy cash then he will for the future as far as lennon is concerned be in and around the first team, won't be dropped will always be talked up and keeps his place - can anyone tell me or convince me any different?

Davybhoy73 ktf. {Ed007's Note - What about when NL leaves? If Forrest is the best Lennxtown can produce we might as well sell it to Tesco. I would much rather see Matthews playing in front of Lustig than see Forrest struggle with the basics of the games, McGeouch can play RW as well.
For a player of Forrest's age and experience his final product is atrocious and having one good game out of 4/5 is just not good enough to be playing with CFC. I still maintain that if he doesn't vastly improve in the second part of the season he should be moved on.}

Good to see Captain of Celtic running out fit on international duty against USA.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tony Watt not running out for Scotland? ;) lol. Only in his own self important mind?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is Watt back in Belgium or still over here? {Ed007's Note - He is still in Belgium, he has a loan contract with Lierse.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed last week we were told he was sent back to Scotland by the Lierse manager for failing to do what he was told. {Ed007's Note - As far as I know he was sent home from training, that doesn't mean sent home to Scotland. If NL sent Izaguirre home from training he wouldn't go back to Honduras would he? Watt has a season long loan contract with Lierse, there would be penalties incurred by any party breaching the contract. I haven't read or heard anything mentioning him being back in Scotland.}

You only have to look at Watt's statement below his photo on twitter to see what a total arse he is becoming.
Something along the lines of "Jesus had 12 followers, look how many I have."
When will this lad ever learn?

I see Friday is D day for the hearts, no CVA accepted, then 139 years of history is gone, Will they be able to do a Rangers & walk away from all the debts after liquidation sell assets to Romanovs bank, apply to join DIV3, ask for a temporary liscence, then ask for full membership due to there being a liscence left over from hearts dieing, or will that only be allowed for sevco??I can see this building up nicely& can't wait too see the MSM try to duck& dive & basically run for the hills lol, what do you think ED?? {Ed007's Note - Hearts are doing one thing that Rangers never did and that is coming out of it all with their dignity intact and they won't need to bow their heads in shame in the street. It would be interesting to read Mad Vlad's take on Rangers' years of cheating, their liquidation and even their current fiasco.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't understand how two creditors, one owed £20m and one owed £25m who own the assets can just write it all off and charitably give the assets away.

FORMER Celtic striker Chris Sutton has raced into the lead as favourite to land the vacant managerial post at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, following the departure of Terry Butcher to Hibernian.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wish him the best of luck.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a slouch at striking Sutton. What did he cost us from Chelski? £6.5m?
Are we going backwards on striking?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sutton (ICT) v Butcher (Hibs) that'll be a good game. Still surreal to see butcher in green stripped tie. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

£6.5m back then is £10m today at 5% inflation. Would we spend £10m today on a striker? We also bought hartson and Lennon. How did we afford it?
