Best wishes Tito Vilanova and hope to see him back coaching in the near future.

A horrible disease that obviously does not discriminate ~ Mrs E

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree. Speedy recovery big man. I just hope Mourinho now feels sorry for poking him in the eye and issues an apology. Rat! HH!

Agree0 Disagree0

Seconded. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Mrs E. Prayers to Tito. A telented coach and manager and all round great guy according to reports. Best wishes and good luck to him and his family

Agree0 Disagree0

Jose Mourinho feels sorry for no one, for me that man lacks class, self proclaimed special one only interested in himself.jimbhoy.

@ jimbhoy

Clearly still bitter about Seville.

Is it true that Sandazza, poorly treated by SEVCO, had to wait three or four months for his pay off until the season ticket money was in? And is it true he got a years salary?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why was the sand dancer given the shove? What did he say like?

Agree0 Disagree0

He said that Celtic had a better stadium, better fans, bigger transfer budget, directors that know what they are doing, a manager that knows what he is doing, an assistant manager that knows what he is doing, a chief scout that knows what he is doing, a better pitch, advertising, merchandise set up. And oh aye, he said our WAGS were better looking, and that things had really gone downhill since Leah left wi Alan. PFFFSSSS! ;) Nae wonder he got the sack!

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be interesting to find out how much he was paid. that's now Sandazza, Goian and Bocanegra paid to leave. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Well gj roughly 5k a week times that by 52 so should be 260k at least mate

So it looks like Elfsborg next, can any of the football buffs on here tell me what standard they are at?
Obviously they will be match fit as there season has already started, but are they comparable to an English Championship side or higher?
Also I cannot believe how negative Lennon seems to be lately about our CL hopes, has the poor pre season really worried him that much? Timalloy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

@Timalloy: I think he is just guarding against complacency mate.I don't know much about them except they will be fit and organised, like most Scandinavians. The biggest worry for me was a travel nightmare. This is a decent draw.If we cannot get through this we really don't deserve to reach the group stages. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

I think nl is just keeping fans in check so that people don't go crazy if we get knocked out. But he knows we should be in the group stage but it's always going to be hard, more so with extra round.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very true

Agree0 Disagree0

They are as good as the best Hearts team we have played. So not to be taken lightly. They are capable of beating us by the odd goal if they get the rub of the green and have fortune on their side. But over two legs I think we will be fine. Better than Helsinki for sure. Sopotcelt.

August 6: Sevco v Newcastle United.
At stake is the prestigious Cheap Trackie Trophy. green jhedi

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If they win it then it will be added to the Dry Blackthorn Cup and the 3rd Div title . 3 and counting . DH

Just seen on tv that McFadden has signed for Motherwell think Celtic have slipped up there on that one would have been a great no 7 {Ed007's Note - Behave yourself James. What have I told you about posting on here?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What is this McFadden obsession some of us have? We could have kept Paddy to get the same input. We need to start getting our young players some game time. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoppers 88 more appropriate for Scotland's slayer of the French in Paris. {Ed007's Note - He tried to wanted people to call him 'The Faddenator' after that!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I preferred Faddenator2 Judgement Day.

Paddy better than mcfanny he had his chance twice to play in the hoops choose more cash so eff him rot wi m'well.

I disagree with green Jhedi, I don't think they'll (Mordor) last until dec/jan. i'm having my jelly and ice cream now.

Sevconian interim accounts to feb stated they were averaging £2.4m a month out the door. £1m more than income. Now in July that's 7x2.4= £16.8m? None of the guesstimates make sense.

I actually think cardigan is crapping himself he gets caught holding the rap as it sinks.

It's only July and we're already doing the huddle in the CL.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My new number plate is jaic- jelly and ice cream. I'll consider selling it to the Celtic bus.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only July and already euro millions flowing into Celtic. It's all good and just rewards for being the clean honest team.

Good draw for us, can't see hibs turning a 2-0 around unless they get a full house and crowd get behind them. Good potential 3rd round draw for st Johnstone if they hold on to their leg and hmm Motherwell got team who finished 5th in Russia they have djril cisse as well can't see them winning but who knows st Johnstone best bet to get group stages if celtic got champions league and the 3 teams from scotland got Europa group stages would be in my eyes greatest achievement for scottish football in a long time. Thoughts? Gandalf the green oh also I read a bit about the russian team on wiki supposedly a player refused to cancel his contract so the club sent two armed russian mafia members to beat him up until he signed an agreement lol so they're obviously a classy bunch.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe we should have done that with Hooper LOL . DH

is hooper definitely leaving celtic as it seems 2 be dragging on and is getting quite boring
ramie1963

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree it has been dragging on - since a year or so ago - since he declined a new deal and was obviously confident a move to EPL would materialise.
Possibly his best chance was in January when Norwich were keen, but they did not meet the asking price and we were still in the CL at that time, so needed him.
Obviously now his contract has run down that bit more and the bids will reflect that so both club and player are in a worse position.
Celtic may not get the full fee they want and Hooper may have to settle for QPR in the Championship?
Could it have been handled any better? Maybe if Hooper had signed an extension like Stan Petrov did before he went to Villa for example and both parties could maybe have got a quick and satisfactory result.

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah big Stan was probably one of the last of his kind, a great footballer with integrity. Thanked his fans properly and left with his head held high and will always be welcome at parkhead. Not sure Hooper will get the same result, in 6 months we will forget about him and be talking about how good our next goal scorer is. But we will never forget petrov.

Are there any free agents that we could go in for

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We don't need another Centre Back, but a cheap (and effective spl-level) option could be Momo Sissoko? I believe he is out of contract at Killie, and is a good technical player as well as being defensively robust. Bit of a stand-out in that killie squad I always felt. Any thoughts? Jean-pierre Laguerre

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure he's the standard we need JP but I can't believe Sevco haven't been in for him. I suggested him on there site a few months ago but didn't get much enthusiasm about it. He's better than Zaliukas who they went after and definitely better than Perry, Cribari or any of the other impostors at Ibrox.

Reluctant sevconian chairman WS is saying he wants out. Saying a lot of money needs to be found from somewhere. He's stated he's not competent to be chairman. He's not up to the job.
He wouldn't be stating these things if the rest of the board had the answers and the money was ok, he'd be enjoying the kudos and riding the glory. So nobody has the answers. Guess the busses bros were being tapped for £10m and on reviewing the books told them where to go.
I'm pretty sure it's him being taken for the ride and he's just realizing it.
Regardless of judges/QCs and sfa overflowing ridiculous favours, That new house of cards is going to topple again, its only a matter of when, tick tock.
One card being pulled such as a sponsor or sports direct guy walking, or Craig Whyte getting his million a year might do it.
Our friends and relatives The deady bears don't listen, their hypnotized by transfer freebies and Mather speak. TRFC won against part time guys by 26 points last season, a pre season wasn't needed, it wasn't critical and isn't critical this season, a waste of money for them.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hang about, this can't be true! The know it all f. k head JG on the other side says that it isn't true! And if he says it isn't true it can't be true! Just ask the imbecile he will tell you!

Agree0 Disagree0

So Sir Walter of the cardigan & brown brogues has stated that he is no business man or financial wizard.

So if you know this yourself why would you take up chairmanship of a business?

1. You are being paid handsomely to do this job.

2. To sell season books to the blind.

3. To dupe the blind and have them think everything is rosy at Ibroke because he is in charge.

When will they realise that every manager, coach, director, owner or previous owner are only there to line their pockets and couldn’t give two hoots about the fans.

Ian

Agree0 Disagree0

Trfc should not need any money they have had a &22m share issue and two sets of season ticket sales plus TV and sponsors, shirt sales, food, hospitality, etc.
If it needs money, its being thoroughly mismanaged in fourth and third tier football. It has had the second biggest income in Scottish football by far.
Weeks to a new season, just sold the STs and chairman stating money worries is alarming.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mismanaged? . They must be the only club in the world with a £500.000 luxury coach but choose to fly down to Bristol . And do you think they will offer Cliftonville Murray Park next week to train on? DH

Agree0 Disagree0

It all looks rather suspicious in sevconia. My guess is the plan is working perfectly. Green and his 1p investors need to keep the lights on until Dec/Jan when the share sell lock in dissolves.

When this is achieved they sell their shares, in Greens case to the Easdales, and pocket a small fortune. This leaves the Easdales in charge but out of pocket due to buying Green out.As we all know they are not making profit and will need funding.I would think the second part of the plan will then kick in.

The Easdales, not wishing to sink any more funds into this money pit, proceed to lead them into another administration. They will exit through an achievable CVA and move forward. This is why sneaky is gathering so many players, An administration will carry a transfer ban and a points penalty. He has more than enough quality to negate a points penalty, and more than enough players to get through a ban.

Mr Pryor has more shares than Easdale but never had a sniff of the boardroom.Mr Pryor has more business acumen than the Easdales. But mr Pryor has a reputation to protect, like Malcolm Murray.Straight business men are not wanted in sevconia.green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

All posts are spot on all help being given by sfa and all other parties including a understanding transfer embargo (they have signed more players than anybody else in uk) the plan is simple but timing is of upmost importance must get to dec/jan then back into admin but enough points in bag to secure promotion this new club like the old has no shame along with sneaky and sir dignity who will walk once easdales are in charge again escaping flak then attention will turn on sfa for falling fit and proper person test as the people look for someone to blame.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent fact based prediction GJ.
We can all see it; so should their share holders, fans and the stock market.
Flying under the 'Cardigan of Convenience' has again fooled most of the peepul all of the time.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

It's how they're going to get to first tier? Is it? Three administrations? Lol. Stiffing creditors all the way? Including HMRC?
If you're owed money from ibrox better get it quick.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 think you find the bus was hired for a funeral that day and a wedding the following day

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it a loan bus from an Easdales for a directors seat?

Agree0 Disagree0

@9 So it isny actually their bus then?? Leased from the Easdales???? Happy 2nd admin when it comes! Sevco deserve EVERYTHING they get!

To be honest I don't think Gary Hooper will be leaving us Its all gone very quiet down south about him moving to QPR. I will be quite happy if he stays and pulls his finger out. JK

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hmmmm five working days since he was going to go in a couple of days. Celtic started the CL campaign well without him or Wanyama. Never in CL again for Gary, only second tier in England hence no England call up either.

The grass really is greener at Celtic park. All forty shades of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 Totally agree with you. Maybe he realises that he is better off staying at the SPL Champions. Julieghirl

Agree0 Disagree0

He will go. It's just a matter of jostling for the right money to keep all parties happy. I think it has taken a bit longer than everyone thought but it'll happen.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 I think it's a case of how much money do you accept for selling your dreams really. The dreams of playing for Ingerland and playing champions league football! With the trade off of ambition for money why does he not just sign for sevco? I heard the The Rangers team is full of players who have no ambition and just wanting a payday to play against part time players!

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jul 2013 09:01:19
Just want to say a massive congratulations to St. Johnstone for their win last night. Too often it's only us or rangers flying the flag for Scotland in Europe so hopefully the others can start performing and we can get this co-efficient back up. Group Stages for winning the SPL would be ideal lol
Kevbhoy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It is absurd that we have to play 3 qualifiers and I know it's all down to co-efficient points (or lack of).
By all means let the other Scots clubs start at the bottom of the Euro ladder, but in the last 10 years we have built up a very good reputation under MON, WGS and NL and this should count towards something as SPL Champions?

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

I've said it for long enough, the CL is a club competition not a national competition. It should be club ranking points not country ranking coefficients.

It's like applying country ranking coefficients to tennis players or golfers totally absurd.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many teams went out in group stages last season but will enter competition after fourth qualifying stage this season? English clubs except Manchester United for starters.

Well lads Stage 1 complete, bring on stage 2 in a few weeks time, ( i'm not talking about Scotlands newest club trying to trawl their way up through Scotlands lower leagues)of course i'm talking about the Famous Glasgow Celtic's route to another campaign in the best club competition in world football. The difference is our stage 2 and 3 should hopefully be successfully completed in the next month, where as Scotlands newest club have a minimum of 2 long years before they can think of participating in a league that offers Champions League football as a prize for winning it. Hee Haw. jcge. Stevie

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Glasgow and Scotland's top club. The UKs first European Cup winning club. A rich unbroken history of achievement, sporting fair play and founded on noble principles of supporting the poor and an open door for all. A beacon of light, truth, honesty and integrity in an ever diminishing land of dark lies, corruption, cheating and yes evil. Beware the dark side and come to the light.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 first Northern European team to win the big cup too!
