Just back from Monday club and I've got 2 good ones for the older ones ...Who scored 36 goals for Celtic before Xmas then got injured against Aberdeen and didn't really play again ..... The other one is in the 70s we nearly signed a player called Bobby Mann and a German called Marcus Shopps .... If they had signed what would our 5 midfield players be (it might be a bit before a good few posters time but go for it any way)
Believable0
Unbelievable0
The first answer is Joe McBride ( we wer having a wee conflab that a rangers player done the same in the 80s or 90s but don't know his goals tally) .The other answer is Conn Mann Glavin Burns Shopps (if not sure ask older CFC fans) ......DH

Tell ya, Aberdeen will be loving the possibility of making their new stadium just for standing would cost a lot less by saving on those expensive lovely plastic seats. Mind you that's if it ever happens, that Stewart Milne loves spending money ;). It's not as if he own's half of Aberdeen itself??

I noticed on net that Victor Wanyama comes from a very sporty family his father played for Afc Leopards and the national team Harambee Stars as a winger. His big brother Macdonald Mariga is at inter Milan signed by Jose the special one.(not sure why he has dropped the wanyama tho?) His younger brother Thomas Gumbaha Wanyama is on Auxerre books at the moment plus his sister is a pro basketball player! A very talented family. Hail Hail

Actually his younger brother of Auxerre is very unsettled there may be an idea to get in there and nick him of them. If he's anything like his other brothers well be fine!

terracing wasnt the problem the problem was the fenced off pens that sub divided the terraces and only one entrance exit into whole ends , althogh this was mostly in england scottish grounds where on the whole better than england with more turnstiles and better entrances with tynecastle being the exeption i dont remember ever going ther and not being in a crush trying to get into the ground but as soon as you got through the stair -tunnel onto the terrace it was ok , but some scary moments getting in , but as usual the fans who went to these grounds where never asked how to improve them , also if we see standing areas back can we go back to taking a bottle of eldo in as well

Watched stv highlights there over the weekend. But 1st see Neil Doncaster saying they might bring in the standing areas again ? What's your thoughts ?
Also the Motherwell player who punched the other guy in the stomach because of a challenge, why wasn't this a 15page spread of it ? Because if it was Celtic or rangers it would be a bloody newsflash lol.

I'm all for the standing areas Lenny. I remember when it was standing Rangers fans were in west enclosure and Celtic fans were in east enclosure absolutely brilliant atmosphere. Obviously the rest of Ibrox was seated.
You are spot on with the St Mirren punch. One rule for both old firm teams another for the rest. But do we expect anything else??
FF81
Agree5
Disagree0
Yeah hardly anything has been said about it although apparently the SPL are going to have a look.
Goodwin was booked during the incident however...I just wonder if the referee saw it as petulance more than violent conduct. IMO a similar type of incident to the one that got Hearts' Obua sent off last season (perhaps a harsh red card but a certain booking IMO). Was more of a petty half hearted swipe, not an aggressive, violent lunge (unlike say the Naismith elbow).

Crazy stuff but i would of love to be at a game back then. 100-150k people at a ground? I get goosebumps at the old firm games and that's just 60k? I'd love to experience just one. Don't rate the guy's all-round play but he's a goalscorer...I honestly think he might be worth a punt on a decent wage.
Not sure he'd fit how we play with a lot of link up play which Hooper - who's also a penalty box player - simply does better but he could be a useful squad player.
Don't see us going in for him though as I think any striker we bring in would really need to be a different type of attacking option. However I reckon Rangers would be stupid not to make an offer for him given his popularity and the lack of striking options they have.

CB {Ed007's Note - The adverts are nothing to do with us as such mate. They change by area/demographics and by individuals searches. I don't have any Apple products so wouldn't have used it myself. Like the ads the sites revenue has nothing to do with me lol Us Eds don't get paid for doing this.}

Really, I thought you lot would manage to get something? Surely with the amount of traffic all your sites generate you could make it worth something? Surely??
CB {Ed007's Note - The sites owners do. The American based sites (NBA, MLB etc) are very popular over there and we are a branch of that. All of us Eds do this for our love of football and our clubs. A few of us work from home so can spend a lot of time on it, others do their bit when they are available. This is just a hobby to me mate.}

Not tic banter but does anyone one know whats happened to Goodwillie? Seems it's not always a good idea to jump down south, and the way it's looking they'll be playing in the Championship for sure next season. I did read on "The Shame's" page that they think there maybe a chance of getting him "on loan" from Jan until the end of the season? Can't see that happening if he's fit they'll need him for sure the state Blackburn are in at the moment.
CB {Ed007's Note - You can't play for three team in one season so he can't go on loan anywhere.}

Very pleased we are stringing victories together in the SPL and playing some good stuff at times producing well-worked and classy goals.
Big Dan took a sore one alright and it had to happen when he was playing his steadiest all season but we still managed a clean sheet at the back - and that is another factor in this wee run we are on.
I know Ki scored, but I feel he is producing very little else and loses possession far too much.
Will be glad when Ledley is fit - not to mention Izzy and we hopefully go on improving to the finish line.
A couple of things I think we need to work on - in my opinion - are, getting more goals from corners and stop giving away possession from throw-ins.
Oh and Sammy - Stop 'chesting' the baw when you should be heading it, as you always give fouls away
Looking forward to the festive fixtures even with Satans little helper Collum on 28th.

Another manager to add to the list of managers who complain when they get beaten by the Tic ,his reaction to the fourth official about big Dan was shocking ,he was actually ranting and wanting action to be taken against Dan . His comments today confirm this . Reminds me of the time when Paul Lambert gave away pen with a sliding tackle only for Albertz to land on his face smashing out every tooth in his mouth .Lambo was out cold for nearly 10mins and was stretchered off only for Wee Dick and John Greig to go to ref and question y he wasn't red carded.........DH

This Steve Lomas character seems to be a bit of a d1ck, we played them off the park in the second half so he's got nothing to moan about. He's very,very lucky he inherited a good solid team from Dek who seems to be another Scottish manager doing well down South! There must be something about the Scottish mentality that the English adapt to. As the amount of Scots Managers doing very well down south is pretty amazing! Pretty surprised to see Owen Coyle doing bad at the moment, and it might just get worse for him as I think one of the big boys will buy Cahill at Jan for sure.

I'd play Mulgrew with Victor at centre back and have Joe if he is fit to play left back. I think it would to big of a game for Izzy to start back in.
