Lol Stan! That's an embarrassment. It reminds me of playing on the the school playground 40 odd years ago. Look at the crowd trying to see it from afar, they are so easily pleased. morons!

{Ed007's Note - And that's an old picture, there's no wallpaper over the windows in the background and they're using it in yesterday's advert.
Come on down and YOU might be MC Marvin's 'Player of the Day! At least we know big Marvin from The Scheme is alive and well eh? Even if his life has hit a new all time low.

20 Aug 2017 10:52:49
I googled this picture because the ones on the guys Facebook had his kids in the pics didn't want to cause any more embarrassment to them.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - :-D

20 Aug 2017 11:06:00
Lol Ed if you look closely you can see the whole cast of the scheme in that picture! They are so far behind Celtic on all fronts. from the playing side, money side, and trying to polish that turd of a stadium with plastic bin bags.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've noticed too that a lot of the pictures of the outside of Ibrox have been digitally altered to make the brickwork etc less shabby looking.}

20 Aug 2017 12:35:54
I walked past it going to the Noel Gallagher/ Richard Ashcroft gig at Bellahouston last year it is filthy. The brick work at the bottom is turning black and has weeds growing out of it. It is a dump. It suits them though.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The whole area's a tip and Ibrox fits in well with the surrounding area. Even the seats are more like a Man City blue they're that old and tatty.}

20 Aug 2017 12:59:02
Maybe they will send out another call to arms for Gardeners, Brickies, Joiners, etc to come do as they please. No qualifications, safety certs required, They could then munch their way through the Asbestos as it would have no effect on them. I hope our next statue outside CP is a group of zombies walking up the Celtic Way arms out pleading for saviour.

20 Aug 2017 21:56:35
Haha if u read that page ed put on, they list the activities they put on for the kids, they've got face painting on, a wonder if the newco will pay her this time. Maybe it's bomber brown doing it now. Here Stan surely fat Sally could help wae the weeds, a hear he's good at it now, well he has been gardening for a while now.

Be interesting to see how much business we do in the final 12 days of the window. In terms of incomings I'd expect Paddy then one or two more, with a centre half the priority and additional striker an added bonus if we get one in. If Paddy is just a loan deal then hopefully we spend a few million on a centre half (Duverne? )

In terms of outs, Ciftci and Henderson to go on loan, with Gamboa also out I'd expect given Ralston is very much 2nd choice now. Injuries may help us keep Moussa but may mean we can't shift Erik. Ajer could go on loan if that's the case as we'd have too many centre halfs.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

19 Aug 2017 22:07:33
Henderson only has a year left on his deal so a loan is pointless, we should give him the freedom of finding another club of his choosing as he's not going to get his chance with us.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 22:38:15
Here's an idea, if we don't get another centre half in then we don't have to put Ajer out on loan, sorry your logic baffles me.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 22:53:31
Big difference between a Β£5mil centre half and a 19 year old boy whose only been playing the position for 6 months. I like the boy but he's not good enough for the CL yet. A quality partner for Jozo is a must if we're to have European football after xmas.

Agree0 Disagree3

19 Aug 2017 23:08:10
Ajer is a great young player and will get plenty of games as back up to Boyata and Jozo. No way would I send him out on loan, let Erik leave and Bitton if needed but no way should Ajer go anywhere this season.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 23:43:53
Got to keep ajer and keep developing him looks class wee padfy hadnt played CL football till last season and learned quite quick so ad keep the bhoy.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 00:20:44
I think he'll turn out to a great player for us in the future but he needs regular game time at his age. Not sure he'd get that here at present with Jozo, Erik, Boyata, potentially a new CB and even Bitton to compete with.

He was good today but got nutmegged a cracker on the byline at 0-0 - against better oppositin, like in the CL, that would likely have led to a goal.

For me CB is the priority, after Paddy.

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Aug 2017 01:10:14
With JF playing well just now and PR coming in do you's think that Rodgers will drop Forrest n put PR straight into the team?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 02:03:18
Ajer will develop under BR and big Eric will be away come the next transfer window or in the summer. A new CB LB and a Decent goalkeeper to challenge Craig (always beat at his near post) Gordon would do me!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 08:09:12
LM there's no way we will spend 5 mill on any player, that's not how we do buisness, the fact that ntcham is the biggest transfer since the skipper should tell people this. yeah we need a CB but we won't be spending that amount mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 08:56:12
We need a quality cb for the CL and cover at lb for the CL, it wouldn't be fair to stick young Miller in against the top teams in Europe, he is only learning to play the position . Drewzybhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 09:33:08
A CB that can fill in at LB would do for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 21:48:20
A forgot about the boy duverne, is that still a possibility ed or has he went elsewhere? Are we looking at any other defenders or do u think Rodgers is happy with Bitton and kt as cover in there. Ideally I'd like to move shevvy on and replace him with a quality cb but time is marching on.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 21:51:19
Craig when he collects the ball never gets us going quick ehnough Gordon lol tbh I do like him he has got us out a few scraps.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 21:52:17
Why should we spend Β£5m on a player, unless we sell a player.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 20:45:09
I am not being biased, but is Tom Rogic the most skillful player in Scotland right now. Close control is just amazing.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

19 Aug 2017 20:58:18
The cash he takes the ball on the turn is a thing of beauty.

Agree1 Disagree1

19 Aug 2017 21:16:44
Big Tom is superb a lot of talk about us needing a new creative mid "number 10 role"when linked with musonda etc which I don't think was a priority when we have rogic his 2 assists today were quality if he stays injury free he'll be a contender for player of year.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 21:21:26
I'd say he was delstarr, aye. A joy to watch.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 22:10:10
I love the guy! Honestly think he's the best player in that team and he's going to show it this year. and he's a hard working creative player and his vision unreal!

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 22:31:53
The Aussie Zidane is just class. What a squad we have here. We have around 20 players that can all comfortably play in the first team to a very high standard. 😁.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 22:35:09
Hope we can get him on a new long term deal there's not many players like him. A stand out today.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 21:46:43
Never seen the game but if rogic can stay fit for the full season and we keep the form up we'll match anyone home or away in Europe, we certainly won't be on the receiving end of a doing fae anyone, looking forward to seeing us in full flow against the big guns.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 20:33:43
If you look on the BBC website, there are celebratory comments from sevco fans regarding Hibs losing. What I find so amusing is that they are so pleased to see them defeated whilst still being two points behind them and that they miss the fact that based on the results of the last two weekends, Hamilton would probably annihilate them!
Regarding our own team, I can't remember a time when we had such strength in terms of young players - Ajer, Ralston, Miller and Benyu impressed me hugely today. And I don't think there is anything I can add about Tierney that has not already been said - utter class.
Happy happy days!

I had my doubts about BR putting Calvin Miller in at left back purely because I thought he would be better playing in his natural position and would be the type of player that would make things happen out of nothing but I am happy to be proved wrong. At left back he is getting game time, learning different aspects of the game that he is not used to, I actually think in the long term he will play in his natural position but at the moment BR is adding the defensive side to his game similar to what Strachan did with McGeady. It's a gamble that is already paying off because I thought the lad was outstanding today, best player on the park alongside Rogic. I don't think it will be long before Miller and Ralston are playing alongside KT for Scotland. I can honestly say I don't think I have felt so good about a Manager as much as I do BR he just does everything right and he is transforming our entire club at an incredible pace. As I have said previously when Paddy returns this we be our best squad since 2003 in my opinion. We are now able to play 2 different teams at any time both capable of winning with ease. A great blend of youth and experience being molded by an astonishing Manager.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

19 Aug 2017 19:46:06
His positioning, work rate, passing, and touch was incredible. When was the last time we had so many players coming through the youth system it is amazing and a credit also to our coaches at youth level.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 20:12:21
Don't think BR can take too much credit for the young boys coming through, they were part of something before he came along .
Give him credit for being bracv enough for putting them up . Maybe have to give the Norwegian dietician some credit.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 20:33:11

Best 2 teams in Scotland Celtic and Celtic reserves πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Agree5 Disagree2

19 Aug 2017 16:10:06
Football is a funny game. We as fans shout for youth to be given a chance but the demands for success through fans and shareholders expectations doesn't give many managers time to develop and bed these youngsters in. Celtic at the moment are in a rare position that they can do just that. With a manager who is developing them tactically and on their fitness levels we now see these players come into the team when called upon and fit in seemlessly. To see them progress is a joy and long may it continue.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

19 Aug 2017 16:28:19
its really choking the media, press and snipers that all that's good about Scottish football at the moment is being generated by Celtic. Single handedly flying the flag in Europe AGAIN- boosting the coefficient and our opponents coffers - developing so many young Scottish players, while importing great potential and star quality, while managing a level of consistency and success never to be surpassed.
In over 5 decades of supporting the hoops I've seen some great highs and suffered some painful lows and I intend to enjoy and admire this golden period for as long as it lasts.

Absolutely spot on Once a bhoy, great post! I feel exactly the same. I've been following Celtic for 35 years and been there through the lows of enduring them through the cheating years and through the highs of the MON years and Seville. BR is in the unenviable position to blood these youngsters in a competitive league which can only benefit us and Scottish Football in a whole. What a great time to be a Timmy! GIFRUTRIFC πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

19 Aug 2017 14:25:39
Comfortable victory today, never out of 2nd gear! Must admit I need to eat some humble pie with regards our captain! Thought he was all but done at the end of RD last season but he's been an inspiration since Brendan came in, he's moved his game up at least a couple of levels! And I used to slate his passing also but it's on another level now! Happy to be proved wrong and give him massive credit! Also thought wee Calvin miller was sensational today by the way, hugely impressive from the kid!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

19 Aug 2017 14:46:05
Can't praise the manager and players enough these days and they just keep rolling along, efficiently and masterfully. Many managers in the past have tried chopping and changing to cope with CL or EL midweek and come undone, but there is a maturity and supreme confidence at Celtic right now, ensuring that any players that step up are more than capable of performing and long may it continue.

Celtic still need a no.1 Goalkeeper, a back up left back a new centre back and depending on whether or not Dembele leaves in this window, one or two centre forwards. If Celtic could achieve this we will be in a great position to push on in Europe and should be aiming for the last 16 of the champions league. Barring a disastrous one off cup match we will win the treble again without breaking sweat.

What's with the Official Club Website these days very so slow in updating, Boyata and Dembele still wearing last seasons shirts and surely Ralston and Miller should be in first team squad photos. Some of the Development squad players are wearing the 2013-15, 2015-16 shirts. C'mon Celtic sort it out this is lazy and very unprofessional for a Club our size.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Loan or not, fantastic to have PR back. We have bought plenty players that have Lasted less than 2.5 seasons - many who have been duds. No risk and he will make a difference in C L like he did against City and he will SAVAGE the mobπŸ€πŸ‘.

Top signing for me.
A loan is better than nothing.

I suspect Armstrong will be sold in Jan, by that time eboue and ntcham should have settled.

I would like to see a goalkeeper brought in.

Ajer to start today?

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 07:55:32
Think we'll see a wee bit roatation today, which is always exciting. What team would people like to see? I know Kouassi is out and not sure about Ajer or Rogic but I'd like to see something like

Gordon

Ralston
Simunovic
Ajer (Bitton if not fit)
Tierney

Brown
Armstrong

Hayes
McGregor
Miller or Benyu?

Griffiths.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

De vries

Ralston
Ajer
Biton
Kt

Forrest
Mgregor
Ntcham
Armstrong
Miller

Griffs

Hazard. mcart. henderson. nesbitt. sinclair. benyu. aitcheson.

I'd rest jozo and lustig for reasons of gaelicbhoy and brown to see how ntcham plays that role himself. isn't hayes still out Jim Tim?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 09:46:45
Aye BR's already said that Jozo will only play one of the next 2 games on the plastic pitches. Don't think that teams too far away though, though I think Forrest and Sinclair will still start to ensure enough attacking threat.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 07:49:30
With two games coming up on plastic pitches, I hope Brendan is sensible with Griffiths and does not play him in both, rest him today and give young Aitchison a chance. Same for Sinclair and Forrest, use the whole squad today. Good luck Celtic today.
Anyway getting ready to head out to Loch Lomond be listening on the radio today. hail hail.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 07:44:54
Just reading some comments from BR there that might suggest our plan all along was to get certain targets in, after CL qualification. Not a fan of this attitude or thought process myself, but there's a few folk on here who pointed that this may be our approach all along. It could pay off. Let's just see who the players are, but I'm starting to get a wee bit excited about the next couple of weeks and our window could finally start getting into action in terms of faces in. Is it just hope again though from myself?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

19 Aug 2017 08:05:38
Itd be nice to think that if we are getting Roberts just on loan, that we'd pay a bit of money for someone else. I'd be happy with one more, dunno where the priority is? Think a striker or a utility defender, but a striker might think he won't get much game time. Rodgers supposedly keeps saying he knows how the English market works, so expecting someone not in the 25 man squads.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 06:38:53
I'm sorry if I'm in the minority but with Armstrong signing I think the boy could still push on and sign a longer contract but the way some of our fans are going he'll be out the door Tommorow when did wee become so fickle and arrogant as fans fans like the ones who are going overboard with this stuff are the reason I leg my ticket go 3 years ago.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

19 Aug 2017 07:39:42
I wouldn't rule it out stephen, but I really can't see it myself. You've got to question why he wanted a shorter deal than the club did in the first place, surely? He's said in the past he wants to play in Germany or England (I think) . He'll be 27 when this deal runs out and will probably want to spend his best days there. Not everybody is a Celtic fan and I can live with people having ambitions elsewhere. As long as he gives his all in a Celtic shirt I'll cheer him on, and as long as Celtic end up getting a good deal when he leaves I'll be happy.

Younger generation steph mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 21:41:25
I was one of the people saying it was a strange deal, which it is.

Ultimately though, with the Roberts deal seemingly imminent, we are going into the new season with our first choice squad of 'infrangibiles' intact.

Squad continuity is what we have all been crying out for season after season. Now we have it, and a few quality reinforcements besides. Champions League football also secured bar 11 red cards. We are really are in an enviable position.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 00:05:38
After weeks and weeks of negotiation on new transfer Armstrong signs on till 2019,well I think him and his money grabbing agent should bolt, before brendan came in was in same boat as mckay Stevens now think he's Messi, first reasonable offer we should off load,

Believable4 Unbelievable1

19 Aug 2017 04:19:41
I have to say i was underwelmed by this announcement, He could have been the next Captain and the highest paid player at the club, the only thing in his defence is that the figure quoted as wages is not that high and some of the newer players are on much more, that is the only excuse
I would see how he works out over the next few months and if no inprovement sell in January for the best offer. I
sincerely wish him well but have my doubts as to exactly what level he really is.
As for Roberts i hope we could sign him up for two years and would he be available for CL against City I believe EUFA rules are loan players must be available to play against all teams.

An another young forward and a Quick defender and we could really compete this year.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 08:13:40
I found his remarks on resigning a bit cool for sure, but he's a reasonably smart lad and didn't want to trot out the usual cliches, understandably. I think both parties to the negotiations are quite keen to just wait and see: he could be a pivotal player for us and future captain, and if so another look at the salary etc is warranted - but he isn't just yet. At the moment he's not even starting ahead of Broony and Ntcham (for me) .
